Trouble syncing documents by wifi or bluetooth

Hi
I am trying to transfer some docs from my macbook pro to ipad either via wifi or bluetooth. Neither are connecting.
I have blue tooth on on both devices, and my laptop sees my ipad as a device in its bluetooth settings but when trying to connect to it says bluetooth connection not available. Laptop connects fine to other bluetooth devices I have. On the ipad, ipad cant discover the laptop when it turn on bluetooth button on ipad.
On laptop i have Snow Leo 10.6.8
Via wifi, no idea how to do this
Help!
Thanks!

iOS does not have a way to file share over Bluetooth, you must use an application. I have used AirSharing, which is great over WiFi. I am sure there are many others. I think a lot of the "pro" versions of these apps allow for Bluetooth sharing, although it is much slow going.

  • IPhone 4 has trouble syncing over WiFi

I seem to have a lot of trouble getting my iPhone 4 to sync over WiFi.  I try initiating it from within iTunes but it will sit at "waiting for sync to start" for a long time.  Sometimes, after several minutes, it will start but sometimes it never starts.
I also have an iPad 2 and I never have trouble syncing it over WiFi.  So I don't think it's my computer or my wireless connection.
I can sync the iPhone 4 fine with the cable.
I'm running the latest OSs on every device (iOS 5.0.1 on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2, and OS X 10.7.2 on my 13" MacBook Pro).
My router is a Airport Extreme.

Has anybody been able to resolve this issue? I am also having the same issues descibed.
I have not been able to sync my iphone 4 wirelessly on my current wifi network which is a duel band Airport Extreme. I have gone so far as to separate the 5ghz and 2.4ghz channels knowing the iPhone 4 does not work on the 5ghz channel (only the iPhone 4s will). The iphone will not sync whether my Macbook Pro is on the 2.4ghz network or the 5ghz network with the Airport Extreme.
I also have an iPad 2 though it never has had a problem syncing regardless which channel the MBP is on. The Apple iOS app Remote will not work on the iPhone but will work on my iPad.
To make matters more confusing I've take my laptop and devices to work which only has Linksys routers running a 2.4ghz network. The iPhone syncs with no issue and the app Remote work perfectly fine.
This then seems like it is an error with the Airport Extreme but I am still at a loss. I hope I've added some insight into your origional problem Michael...and I'm secretely wishing you have already found a solution.

  • Is anyone else having trouble syncing an iphone using bluetooth?

Is anyone else having trouble syncing an iphone using bluetooth? I get a message that says pared , but not connected.

    Everyone!
You can't syncing your iPhone via blutooth. BT is only for hands-free and tethering. You can sync via cable or wi-fi.only.

  • ITunes WiFi or Bluetooth Syncing for Touch/iPhone

Can I sync a Touch or iPhone with iTunes on my computer using WiFi or Bluetooth?

    hi,
is there any specific reason for this or it's just not supported by the iTunes desktop client at the moment? No other option than cable?

  • Why has iCloud stopped syncing documents across devices?

Just recently, my iPhone has stopped syncing documents with my iPad. They are both on wifi yet they still wont sync with each other. I have gone through all the settings on both devices, and I can't seem to find anything wrong. I have even tried syncing both of them with itunes, but yet the documents still wont appear on both devices. Any recommendations besides restoring both of them?

Had the same problem. iCloud failed on my iPhone and on my iPad2.
Turned out, in my case, to be a corrupt contacts-database. I have 176 contacts on the iCloud-website, but only 50 of them turned up on my iPhone, In addition to all of the problems mentioned in this thread.
This is how I solved it:
    - Synced iCloud contacts with my Outlook 2010 (PC): http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html
    - Copied the new Outlook iCloud contacts-folder to an empty or new Outlook contacts-folder.
    - Deleted all contacts on my iCloud web-site.
    - Waited for Outlook iCloud-folder to sync to empty state.
    - Copied contacts (from the second step) back to the Outlook iCloud-folder.
    - Waited for sync to copy contacts to the iCloud web-site.
    - Did a factory reset on my iPhone to be able to reinsert my iCloud-account. Everything works fine!
Easier on my iPad: just removed/added the iCloud-account to get it to work again

  • HT1430 my wifi and  bluetooth is grey, cant get it on. I restarted, reset, and went to itunes to reset.  None of these options are fixing the problem??

my wifi and bluetooth setting are greyed out, cant turn on, i reset, restarted, and went to itunes, nothing works??

I did some hunting and have found that your Apple ID needs to be registered in the country where you first downloaded the app (whichever ones are giving you trouble)
I needed to change my region back to the uk and now my apps are downloading. Thank goodness!!
I think I read somewhere that apple had changed a setting or something(?) when updating their ts&cs.
    I hope this helps people!!
I also had deleted my apps but re installed them when I connected to my computer.

while staying in a hotel my ipod stopped connecting to wifi and would not let me do anything til i synced.when i got home i had to restore but now my wifi and bluetooth have turned gray and are unresponsive.i have restored several times even as a new device but still the same.

Try here.  However, frequently it is a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Sorry to hear that you have issues with WiFi and bluetooth
I'm afraid this sounds like it may be a hardware issue in your phone but i recommend that you first try to reinstall the phones software using PC Companion but please note that this will reset your phone and delete all your data.
If the issue should still remain I think that this needs to be examined and fixed at a repair center. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, please contact your local support team.

  • HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14 windows 7 wifi and bluetooth disabled

    Hi,
    I successfully downgraded Sleekbook 14 into Windows 7 64 a while ago.
    Everything worked fine.
Now, after reinstalation of Windows 7 clear,
I cannot turn on Wifi and Bluetooth, and even cannot install drivers.
I tried several differnet wifi drivers.
I tried to use drivers which I used previously. No success.
    I have Ralink module inside.
Drivers did not installed. In hardware list of Windows I do not see network card.
F12 LED still flash in orange. Fn+F12 nothing changes.
I cannot force it to blue light.
When I use Window Add Hardware... I see blank window. None hardware detect, and even I cannot select new harware manually. Is it normal?
Could it be module smashed? Does it happen? How to verify finally?
I do not see any network card or option in BIOS. Should I?

    Hi there @JAN_GER
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I understand that you are havingsome trouble with your Wireless after downgrading to Windows 7. I am happy to offer help with this.
Firstly, the model you referred to is not supported in a Windows 7, configuration. The HP customized drivers that are available are for Windows 8.0 and 8.1. With that in mind I would be happy to help you with any driver issue under a supported operating system.

  • Wifi and Bluetooth disappeared after reset laptop to Factory settings

After reset my PC to factory settings realized that the wireless and bluetooth were not working. The problem is not with my home network, since all other devices are working great The F12 (wi-fi)  hot key is orange and does not turn on. When button is hit just changes to airplane mode on/off. There are no option of wireless devices or icons or whatever to access this. Wireless and bluetooth just disapeared. At the device manager, the only driver found in Device Manager\Network Adapters is Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. Nothing about wireless. Everything is gone. Accessed the HP support and installed several different network drivers, but nothing happens. Tried to do another factory reset, problem persisted. Exactly same occuring to Bluetooth. They always worked fine, till the factory reset. Don't now what else to do, some say that may be a hardware malfunction, but I think it is weird, always worked great and it changed immediatly after the factory reset. In my opinion seems more like a software than a hardware issue, caused by the reset. Could anyone give a help with that? Tks a lot

Hi , Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community!
I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY TouchSmart 15 Notebook and Wifi problems. Here is a link to the troubleshooting the Wireless connection. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system it has built in Wireless troubleshooting assistance. It will show you how to make sure the Wireless is on. Here is a document on Airplane mode. If Airplane mode is on you cannot use your WiFi or Bluetooth, so Airplane mode should off and no Ethernet cable connected for the Wireless troubleshooting. I hope this helps you connect. Thanks.

  • IOS7 install and still NO wifi or bluetooth!

I have an iOS 4s. All location services, wifi and bluetooth were all operational with iOS5, I upgraded to iOS 5.1 - BAM! no location services, wifi or bluetooth. I have tried all the suggested tricks and still get the same results. My cell provider, Fido (aka Rogers) was and still is uninterested in helping to resolve the issue. Apple is just as helpful, only asking me to pay $250 for a replacement phone - ummm, it's YOUR hardware and YOUR software Apple, that is FAILING! Yet, I am still getting billed for services I CANNOT access, because the iOS and hardware on my 4s are failing. The hope was that iOS7 would solve the location, wifi and bluetooth greyed-out / no services - hope springs eternal. With great anticipation, I dutifly and deftly updated the OSX, iTunes and then to iOS7...only to find the same result, YET AGAIN!
I am giving Apple and Fido one last chance to actually take ownership and replace my iPhone 4S with an iPhone 5, and pray that the location services, wifi and bluetooth actually work - one wonders.

Well, if your phone is out of warranty, that is why they are suggesting the paid replacement. That is an out of warranty replacement. If you cannot get the wifi and other services to work and attempted the troubleshooting in the support document, then I say that is a hardware issue. Also, if installation of iOS 7 had no affect on it, then it is a hardware issue. This again supports why Apple offered an OOW replacement.
No matter what, they would not offer an upgrade replacement even if your device was in warranty. They replaced kind for kind.
The is a user to user technical support forum, not Apple, so complaining here to us will do you no good. If you do not have a question, then you are wasting your time here.

  • Does wifi or bluetooth drain faster?

So which can drain your mobile device faster? I know they drain pretty quickly but I don't wanna go throughout the trouble finding out. So I play this game called Pilots Path it went free so I thought might try it out. Well one of the cool things about it was attaching another device making it as a controller and one as a screen. So my iPad became a screen and iPod became controller. But it says it need wifi or bluetooth? Well I wanna play maximum life out of it but I don't know which will drain my iPod battery quicker?

WiFi data transfer is far faster than Bluetooth.

  • Trouble connection to certain wifi APs

So I've been having trouble connecting to some wifi access points over the last half last year or so. The weird thing is that my notebook stopped connecting to one AP which works for other devices, used to work with the notebook and now it connects to some networks (like eduroam) but refuses to connect to others, like my access point at home. Other distributions and operating systems, like Kali Linux and Windows 8 connect fine to the same access points on the same notebook.
My hardware is a Thinkpad Edge E325 with this network controller

This problem might actually solve itself, since I'll probably give this notebook away in a few weeks, but I'd still like to find the reason for this.

Well, that's quite a drastic solution so I've saved it for last (Recovery Mode).
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.
