  • I am having trouble syncing my iphone 4s to my mac 10.4.11

I am having trouble syncing my iphone 4s to the Itunes 9.2.1.I tried to update the Itunes ,but my mac is too old and would not accept the latest version of itunes. Is there anything more i can do  ,short of buying a new computer?

Syncing an iPhone 4S running iOS 6.1.3 or earlier requires at least a G4 Mac running 10.5.8.
Syncing an iPhone 4S running iOS 7 requires at least an Intel Mac running 10.6.8.
If your computer can't be upgraded to the required OS version, buy a secondhand or refurbished one which can.

  • Is anyone else having trouble syncing an iphone using bluetooth?

Is anyone else having trouble syncing an iphone using bluetooth? I get a message that says pared , but not connected.

    Everyone!
You can't syncing your iPhone via blutooth. BT is only for hands-free and tethering. You can sync via cable or wi-fi.only.

  • Trouble syncing my iPhone,

I am having trouble syncing my iPhone, for some reason when i sync it will only let me put the songs I have downloaded onto it on there and it leaves all the others that I have selected off ie. songs on iPhone 76...songs I want on there 1600+
I have the latest software update & I have restored back to factory settings.....I have even tried to do it on my old laptop but it will not let me put all the music I want on there.
    Any ideas?

Just in case I wasn't clear...
Select your device on the left column. This will bring up a large window/column with tabs on the top. My guess is that you do not have everything under the music tab selected, or have restrictions on which music you want to install on your iPhone. This is a common issue, because it is not selected by default. Of course, you also need to select all the music you want downloaded under the main music section in the top left hand column.
But whatever the problem is, I wish you the best on getting this resolved ASAP. What's life without music?  It's like cake without icing.

  • Syncing Ipad & iPhone in Seperate Folders

Need some advice. I currently have an iPad and will be getting the iPhone 4s soon. I want to keep the apps, music, photo's and video's in seperate folders, so when I sync or backup a device it would save it in designated folder. Would you suggest making 2 seperate folder's 1 for the iPad & 1 for iPhone, I don't want the same apps, etc.,  on each device or visa versa. In iTunes "Edit" "Perferences" "Advance" settings I have created a folder for my iPad, should I do the same with the iPhone? and change folders through the Advance when I sync up each device ? or would this confuse iTunes ?

How are you syncing your ipad right now?  Are you just syncing everything? You don't have to - you check off which items you want for the ipad. then when you get the iphone you check off different apps for that. This apple article has a screenshot of that in step #5
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1977
If you're determined to have separate folders between your ipad & iphone, you might be better off having completely separate library database files. You can do a shift-start to choose between your iPad and iPhone library database and have them use different folders.
Switching the folder location in one library database is guaranteed to be a mess, no matter how you think you'll always remember. If you have podcasts that auto download they might start downloading when you're in the wrong library, for example.
itunes is designed to support multiple devices...maybe you're overthinking this?
The backups will still be separate though and always go to that location in the article I posted above.

  • Having trouble syncing iPad to get movies onto it.....any ideas?

For some reason I am having trouble syncing movies onto my iPad. They are in my iTunes library, I check the box hit apply/sync then nothing.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

    Been there, done that...........
It appears that when I sync it seems the sync is syncing the computer with the iPad not iPad with computer.
I have delegated all movies on iPad when I check some movies on iTunes it adds the purple bar at the bottom and availability of space decreases accordingly. When I hir apply/sync it goes through the process then when finishes step four the purple bar at the bottom goes and available space increases again.

  • Trouble Syncing Ipad

While syncing my ipad to itunes I get the error message "while syncing this ipad the connection to the ipad was lost".  I know I am OK with my wifi and I use a USB to ipad cable to connect.  I have looked in the manual and don't find anything helpful.
Thanks for any help anyone can give.

    Hi Fanznanz,
Thank you for your question.  If you are getting an error message while syncing your iPad with a USB cable, do you have a different USB cable you can try?  Another suggestion would be to see if you can setup syncing to iTunes via Wi-Fi.  Give this a try:

Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch with iTunes using Wi-Fi
Learn how to sync your iOS device with iTunes on your computer.
You can use iTunes to sync information on your iPod, iPhone, or iPad with your computer—for example, if you buy movies or music using your iPhone, syncing adds this media to your computer.
When you sync, iTunes determines whether your iOS device or your computer contains the most recent information, and lets you choose the information you want to sync.Set up syncing
Open iTunes. Make sure that you have the latest version.
Connect your iOS device to your computer with the included USB cable.
    Locate your iOS device.
If you're in the iTunes Store, click the Library button, then look for your device in the upper-right corner.
In the Summary tab, select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi."
When the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device will appear in iTunes. Then you can sync it. The iOS device will sync automatically when the following conditions are true:
    The iOS device is charging.
iTunes is open on the computer.
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
When your device is connected with iTunes via Wi-Fi, you can select the device and then configure sync and other options.
Click Apply or Sync to sync the iOS device.
If the iOS device doesn't appear in the Devices section or you can't sync, try troubleshooting iTunes Wi-Fi syncing.
You can also sync your iOS device using a USB cable. For more information, see Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod with iTunes using USB.Device not recognized

I hope this information helps ....

  • TS4062 I am having trouble syncing my iphone to my computer when I plug in the usb and click on the devices button sync is not highlighted

I am having trouble getting my iphone synced with my computer. I have tried both wifi and with a usb the sync tab under devices is not highlighted and can not be clicked.

  • I just brought a new macbook pro but am hving problems syncing ipad/iphone 4

i just got my new macbook pro. i used my time machine to back up old macbook and then used it to put all my files on new one but when i try to sync ipad i get transfere purchaes .. but when i do that all my things say there not allowed on this mac as im not autherised... erm my mac my ipad my files.. same itunes account logged into both.. whats the problem??? and the other option is to erase and sync .. but i would lose 2 movies and a tv serries plus music and apps????

Try de authorizing your old mac and then authorising your new mac, that will sort all your apps out in the purchased section, regarding all your data, films etc on your ipad/iphone you will have to use a programme to get the  data from your iphone to new mac.  i had the same problem, i used to an app called "pod to Mac" which did the job for me by taking all my data off my iphone 4 and putting it onto my mac, i then opened the files on my mac with the relevant programmes like itunes etc and then synced my iphone to my new mac.
    hope that helps

  • Unable to sync iPad/iPhone

My PC version of iTunes has stopped recognizing my components (iPad, iPhone, etc). It worked well previously. I have followed the tutorial (turn everything off/on, reload iTunes, etc) without success. Everything works on my laptop, so it appears to be the PC software. Suggestions anyone? I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials on Windows 7 and have been for almost 1 year now without issues. Help please. Thanks
    Paul

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you are using Windows 7 64 bit? I have been having the exact same problem and have narrowed it down to Microsoft Security Essentials on Win7 x64. Unfortunately I have not found a fix yet other than removing MSE. From what I can tell, the conflict only occurs on the 64 bit version of Windows 7.
So a temporary solution is to uninstall MSE whenever you want to sync. Not a good solution, I know, but it will at least allow you to sync your iPad.

  • I am having trouble syncing my iphone to mac

i just bought a new mac, and i have attempted to sync my iphone wireless.  the "sync now" under itunes wi-fi sync does not , or will not work.  any ideas why?
both the mac and the iphone are on a shared home wifi. is there a setting im missing in which my phone has to be "authorized"?

On the Mac, wi-fy sync requires Bonjour, and Bonjour requires IPv6.
IPv6 MUST be enabled in the Network panel of System Preferences.
For me, just doing this solved the wi-fi sync problem. When I made that change, my iPad and iPhone both appeared immediately in iTunes.

  • Successfully using Exchange to Sync iPad, iPhone, Gmail (PC) contacts. If I lose my iPhone and contacts were erased I would lose them everywhere! Backup!

I am successfully using Exchange to keep my contacts in sync on my ipad,iPhone and gmail(windows 7). But I think that if I lost my iPhone and someone cleaned out the contacts, then I would also lose the contacts on my Gmail and iPad. How can I do a regular backup of the contacts?

Im not sure that you can restore your Google Contacts from the iPhone Backup.
Try this: Go to gmail page on your desktop browser then in Contacts, click More and select "Restore Contacts".
