Trouble syncing music library.

I recently noticed that some albums, songs and playlists are not syncing correctly from my Macbook Pro to my iPhone 4S. When I go into my music on the phone, I see some albums, songs and playlists listed, but when I go to play a song, it appears on the list in light grey text and will not open or play. I went to check on my laptop and the songs are still there and play just fine. Previously, these songs were able to be played on the phone and this problem seems to have occurred/coincided with my software update of iTunes. Anyone have any idea what's going on or how I might fix it? This problem seems random and is affecting only a small portion of my music library. It occurs with both songs/albums I purchased directly from iTunes and also with songs loaded from CD's. Last note: I synched manually by connecting to computer and did not sync via iCloud.

Update: After hours of looking for an answer and trying all things Apple, I noticed that at the bottom of the screen on the phone along with playlists, artists, songs, albums, there's also a button that says "More." I clicked and went to "Shared" and noticed that there's two options: My iPhone and (my) Library. I switched from My Phone to Library and voila! Problem solved. I hope my hours of frustration can help someone else.

Troubles syncing music on iphone

Hi there i am having troubles syncing music onto my ipone 5
i have read everywhere and tried multiple ways of syncing music but still no luck
Purchased music is transferred to iphone fine but all of my other songs no matter what i do they wont sync on my phone. please help me its getting really annoying. And ive tried checking and unchecking songs. In simple steps how does one transfer all songs from itunes off Macbook onto iphone.

if you are doing this from itunes, make sure in the settings for your phone under music is checked

Synced music library keeps vanishing!

Since the recent update I have noticed that the synced music library on my AppleTV keeps vanishing as if I don't have any music on it. In order to get it back, I need to go to Shared Music and then back to My Music on the AppleTV menu. The problem happens severa times a day. I have tried rebooting the AppleTV (in fact I usually have to reboot it at least once a week due to the fact in freezes).
Is the instability caused by having a second computer sharing its iTunes library with the AppleTV? It's getting abit irritating when you have listened to an album and then go back to select another album and find the whole music library has disappeared.

This problem seems to have been fixed with update 2.3 which I've been using for a numbers of days now
Pity about some of the other new problems introduced with update 2.3 though

Can't sync music library with iPod Touch

I gave my iPod to my son. He erased my music library and put his on. He gave iPod back. I erased all his music and tried to reload my music library. I updated iTunes from Apple website. Could not successfully transfer ANY music.
I searched through discussions and found some suggestions. I restored iPod to original settings, removed everything.
Apps I originally had on the iPod and some new ones synced beautifully. Music library would not. Unclicked manually managed iTunes. Unclicked Sync all iTunes in library. Clicked APPLY where applicable. Uninstalled iTunes on PC and reinstalled. iTunes will not sync.
I cannot put a checkmark on all songs in the library. The checkmarks will only go so far down and then quit. There are too many to do that manually.
it has 59.42 GB capacity, 4.3.1 software version.
So what do I do to syn my music library? And what are the exclamation marks appearing to the left of the column for check marks? Sometimes they appear and sometimes not.
I would appreciate any help you can give me. I am at my wit's end. Thank you.

For anyone who might read my post and have the same problem, the above link, second option to try work like a charm. I have my music back. I had to go looking for it and clicking on one of the pieces to play it in iTunes worked. Not all the music was located right away but it was still findable.

Trouble syncing music from iTunes to my iPhone 4S

Hello all,
I currently have an iPhone 4S and previously was using a laptop that had itunes installed with my own library and my computer was authorized with my itunes account. My computer crashed and the motherboard was fried so I had to switch to an old computer I used to use 3-4 years ago. I was able to save the hard drive on the old computer and whenever I want to pull stuff from my old computer's hard drive I can hook it up to my "older" computer by USB.
The problem I am having is when I am using itunes and I want to add music to my iPhone 4S it is giving the me circle with the line through it and won't let me add music from my computer's library to the iPhone.
When I try and click on my device tab and click on "my iphone" under the summary tab I try and check the "manually manage music and videos" and click apply but it gives me the following message:
"The iPhone "Nathan's iPhone 4s" is synced with another iTunes library on "NATHAN-PC". Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?"
'NATHAN-PC" refers to my PC where the motherboard crashed and I have all my old data my hard drive that was recovered.
Does anyone know how to change the settings on my "older" laptop to make it so that it syncs with my old iTunes library (on the computer that crashed) so that I am able to add music again to my laptop... and not have to erase my current iPhone music!

I too have just encountered this problem with the slight difference that when trying to sync entire music library, the only things that make it across to my phone were my most recent additions to the itune library (all from cds).
I am currently trying a manual sync, but selecting all the genres which so far seems to be working. For some reason that does not seem to include all the music, so watch this space!!!

Problem syncing music library

Hey,
I have my iTunes syncing to AppleTV on a custom sync, All my Movies and TV Shows have synced fine, but when I choose to sync my whole music library, it only syncs 229 items, when I have nearly 2000. Anyone know why this may be?

Go to the folder/playlist - whatever....then go to EDIT SELECT ALL...then go to the first item on your list - right click - if it is already selected you'll have to uncheck selection, then do it again and choose check selection. It keeps the 'select all' option

Trouble Syncing Aperture Library to 5G iPod

I have never been able to get iTunes to recognize my Aperture library when syncing with my 5.5G iPod. The names of my albums show up in the list but it says there are no pictures in the albums and will not sync. The issue has been there with previous versions of of iTunes as well as the current version. I am running the current version of Aperture as well.
Has anyone else had troubles syncing their Aperture library?

do you have previews generated for the photos you are trying to sync? I had a similar problem with one album recently after experimenting with turning previews off. Album appeared, but no photos listed after it in brackets.
I generated previews for that album and hey presto it worked fine

Cannot sync music library after download apps from icloud

I just brought an ipad4. I used icloud to download my iphone apps into my ipad. However, doing such, I cannot not sync my music library. Please help! The strange things are that I can do it into my ipod and iphone 5

you can only sync to one itunes library at a time. If you change your computer or replace the HD and install a new OS, itunes will create a new library and the phone will not sync to this one unless it got erased before by itunes.

My Mac crashed
So bought a new computer transferred my music library to i tunes from the old MAC harddrive... and now I cannot sync my music library or podcasts with my ipod...only contacts.,.I spent hours trying tofigure this out and it is breaking my heart....

Syncing music library

Ok, I recently updated my iphone 4 and I also wanted to change the music on it. When I went through and manually chose songs, I couldn't get them all to sync. I tried it A LOT, looking at all music settings. I then tried to sync entire music library and it still won't. All of the music is legal, from itunes purchases. HELP! I must be missing something!

I guess I could stream the music when I'm wanting my playlists. It just seems weird to have to stream the exact same music that's already on the Apple TV itself.
Can you think of another way I could maybe configure the music on my MAC to achieve the goal of 1 copy / 4 XML files to make it more friendly with the Apple TV?

I'm having a lot of trouble syncing music to my iPhone 6

I'm having a problem that I've never had with any other Apple product before. I just got this new 6 and I'm trying to get a portion of my music library on to the phone. However here is my problem...
Whenever I tick "Sync Music" or "Sync only checked songs and videos" it shows at the bottom of iTunes that the music files take up space on the device however when I apply the changes the music is not there. I do not have this problem with applications though. I installed the Instagram app and a bunch of other apps without a single problem. I tried manually selecting every artist that I had but iTunes only synced one song and ignored the rest of the checked artists. I'm very confused because iTunes recognizes that there is music there because it shows that it will take up space in the device if I apply the changes. However as soon as I apply the changes, nothing happens and the bar at the bottom of iTunes showing that the audio files taking up space disappears.
Does anyone have a solution?

HT1386 Trouble sync music

My iphone4 does not want to sync music in itunes. I have the albums checked I want to sync but it will only sync 1-2 albums out of the 5-7 I have checked. When I try to sync again, it just doubles the same songs in the same albums. It shows I have plenty of room in memory on phone. When I start the sync it shows it will take 1.2 gig but when it finishes it shows it has only put in .2 to .4 gig of music and will not load anymore. I have tried to uncheck music sync and it will take out all music from phone. So when I sync again it does the same.
I had no problems syncing my old iphone3 to this same library. Now I have taken over my wife's 4 and gotten her a new phone.
This is very aggravating. Please help.
(and of course apple support will not help without charging a fee)

Did you try to manually add music to the phone?

Did you try to deselect music syncing, let iTunes remove the songs, restart the phone and activate syncing for music again?
Can you sync other media from iTunes, like videos or movies?

HT1386 trouble syncing music on ipod touch with new itunes library

I can't seem to get my ipod touch (2nd Gen) to sync with my itunes library. Had Trouble installing itunes 10.6.1 and abandoned the effort on main computer for now (out of FRUSTRATION!!!) and instead tried to sync with my sons computer. It wiped the ipod (expected that) but now when I try to sync for music it only downloads a few songs. HELP!!!! Please??? Get the message that sync could not be completed because sync failed to start. I really can't afford to pay these guys to help with a product that should work so any help would be appreciated.

Trouble syncing music with Itunes library

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have roughly around 138GB of music stored externally onto a 1TB hard-drive. There are a few problems that i have got though with this music and i need some help:
1. When i tranferred some of the music the pathways were lost, is there anyway that i can sort out the music without going through each track one by one.
2. All of the music has been collected over various laptops over various numbers of years and therefore it is all randomly sorted on the hard-drive in different files and folders, is there any quick way of being able to collate all the music into one place without going through to each files place and changing where it is stored.
3. I dont want to create copies of the music that i have already got!
