Trouble transferring downloaded music to my

Hi everyone! I can't get my music from Limewire onto my Zen Touch, even though it's in mp3 format. When I choose the folder and then click on the button to have it transferred to Creative Media Source, nothing happens. What's the deal?

Any music from LimeWire is not going to have LICENCES. I'm sure any of the Mods will tell you that discussing things about music you do not OWN will not be tollerated here. There is a chance that you are getting stuff that is free of coppyrights, but if that were truly the case you wouldn't be getting it from LimeWire. Now that I'm done throwing stones.
Here are some reasons that MediaSource will not recognize a file for transfer. I'll leave it up to you to figure it out.
. File not encoded properly.
2. File corrupt or not an MP3 or WMA but just has .mp3 or .wma extension on it.
3. File encoded in a format other than wma or standard mp3. ie. OGG, MP3 PRo, etc..
4. Files are being accessed by another program and can not be used by MediaSource at the time.
5. Some others I've probably forgotten..Message Edited by MicroZealot on 04-26-2005 03:57 PM

  • Transferring downloaded music from an app to iTunes library

I have music on a music downloading app that I would like to transfer to my iTunes library, and on the previous iTunes version I could do that, but now iTunes looks all different and I can't figure out how to do it now. Does anyone know how do this?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
The following User Tip may help you.
Turingtest2's user tip will help you avoid this.
Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • Transferring downloaded music

I have two pcs in my house and wish to transfer music that I have already downloaded from CDs that I own from one computer to another, without having to find the CD's and reload them. I want to do this because they reside on my old rather clunky computer and I would rather use the newer one to make up some playlists. I have them homesharing already, but what if I don't want to have them both switched on. Also not sure if the paylits share or just the music.
I know I could just get the CD's and relaod them, but what happens when I eventually replace my older computer and get a new one.

  • Having trouble transferring calendars, music playlists

I have a new Mac and am having trouble transffering my itunes playlists, calendars, and internet favorites from my PC

Your phone is telling me you ended up not really moving the old library but somehow created a new library.  An i-device can only sync with one library at a time and your phone is reacting as though it never saw this library.
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music [library] to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 - a somewhat bewildering and not always easily understandable set of options.
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the iTunes Library.itl file in the moved iTunes folder.
For the record there's this reference for iTunes 11 but it really doesn't strike me as having the specifics you need. iTunes 11 for Mac: Move your library to another computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12168

You can redownload most iTunes purchases directly to the iPod by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise you will have to sync from your iTunes library.

Sounds like you may have deleted something you shouldn't have. Boot to an OS X DVD or a bootable backup, and using Disk Utility, do a repair disk, and while there repair permissions. Disconnect any peripherals, and reboot. If you get the same startup behavior, do a safe boot, by holding the shift key down when booting. If that works, try a normal boot. If neither step helps, you may need to relaod your operating system.

For the updates you've tried logging out of your account by tapping on your id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and then logging back in ?
And for the purchases by 'not letting me buy music' you mean ... ? If you are getting an error message then what does it say ?

  • Having trouble transferring music from old PowerBook to new iMac

I'm having trouble transferring my iTunes music from my old PowerBook to my new iMac.  Trying to follow the online instructions by using an external hard drive to transfer from one to another.

    Hi Skingz,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
Is the external hard drive that you are working with formatted for Mac OS Extended Journaled?   Is there enough space on it?
The process is the same regardless of the operating system you are using:
OS X Mountain Lion: View information about your disk
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11086
Formatting erases the contents of the external drive so be cautious.  Also this process is for any application, not just Aperture:
Format external drives to Mac OS Extended before using with Aperture
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3509
Try the steps in the article again.
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4527
If you are still not able to copy the library to your new computer this way, then the alternative approach would be to copy the music folder from your old computer to the external drive, and then add the music folder to your new, empty iTunes library on the iMac.   You'll have to recreate your playlists, etc, but at least you will have the music.
Adding music and other content to iTunes

I hope this information helps ....

  • Trouble transferring videos purchased in iTunes to video iPod

I found this to be a bit curious. I just purchased the White Stripes' "Hardest Button to Button" video in iTunes (along with 4 other music videos from other bands), and I was unable to transfer the file to my video iPod (the other four videos transferred without problem). The message said that it could not be played on this iPod. Is this a widespread or unique problem? I thought all videos purchased on iTunes were compatible with the video iPod, if not, is there a way to determine this before purchasing? Is there a way to solve this problem without purchasing additional software?

Unhelpful boilerplate response from the iTunes customer service team below. I have all of the updates (for iTunes & video iPod) and still no luck. I've even done the restore to factory settings thing, and also, no luck.
Has anybody else encountered this quirk (see my original question) and managed to work around it without purchasing any additional software?
