Trouble transferring music

Hopefully somebody can help and this isn't too long winded.
a)    I have an old pc, tht I first set up Itunes on, I have loaded over 3,000 cds to it.
b)    I want to transfer the music stored here, but I can't remember my password, and have changed my email address some time ago, so they can't send me a
        reminder.
c)    When I plug my IPOD into the new computer it won't let me transfer the music when I click sync - it states that it will erase what is on the ipod.
d)    What can I do to get what is on the ipod, sycned to my new computer...
Thanks (in hope!)
Paul

music files go to gallery always, you should go to your music player and locate a selection "update music library" to make the music visible in your player

For the updates you've tried logging out of your account by tapping on your id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and then logging back in ?
And for the purchases by 'not letting me buy music' you mean ... ? If you are getting an error message then what does it say ?

  • Having trouble transferring music from old PowerBook to new iMac

I'm having trouble transferring my iTunes music from my old PowerBook to my new iMac.  Trying to follow the online instructions by using an external hard drive to transfer from one to another.

    Hi Skingz,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
Is the external hard drive that you are working with formatted for Mac OS Extended Journaled?   Is there enough space on it?
The process is the same regardless of the operating system you are using:
OS X Mountain Lion: View information about your disk
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11086
Formatting erases the contents of the external drive so be cautious.  Also this process is for any application, not just Aperture:
Format external drives to Mac OS Extended before using with Aperture
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3509
Try the steps in the article again.

If you are still not able to copy the library to your new computer this way, then the alternative approach would be to copy the music folder from your old computer to the external drive, and then add the music folder to your new, empty iTunes library on the iMac.   You'll have to recreate your playlists, etc, but at least you will have the music.

I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!

  • Even with ipod rip, trouble transferring music from Win-IPOD to Mac-Itunes

New Macbook (recent convert). Windows formatted IPOD. Bought IPOD-Rip. Plugged in ipod holding down Apple+Option so no accidents. Said IPOD RIP didn't recognize any music on IPOD, but did I want to do "hard recover" Yes. So--it then transferred entire contents of IPOD to Mac desktop. There it sits in all its glory. But my Mac Itunes doesn't recognize it, I THINK because it is Windows formatting. How do I get these songs into my Mac Itunes? While transfers are commonly discussed here, I don't think I've seen this particular problem?

Thanks so much! Seems to have basically worked. But didn't import the playlists...I'm sort of assuming that given everything else peculiar to my situation, that there's nothing I can do about that?

  • HT1848 Having trouble transferring music to my computer.

I tried to click on the "transfer music from my iPhone" button but the music will not be transfered to my computer. For a second it worked with the Genius, I thought, but then when I disconnected my phone, the songs were no longer in the library. Is this because I purchased the songs on my iTunes phone app? The computer is authorized so that's not it. Can someone help?

  • Trouble transfering music to player

I have the Zen Touch 40GB model. Awhile back I created a backup folder of my playlist in another HD on my PC. To make a long story short I had to delete the music files on my player and though it would be easy to retransfer the files from my PC back to my player. Another thing that happened is that recently I had to reinstall Windows Vista and other programs and applications to my PC. I downloaded and installed Creative MediaSource V5.0.38. At one point the PC music library pane in the organizer was blank. I then went into settings under the PC Music Library tab I clicked restore. I chose the directory where the backup files were located, clicked apply and OK. The files then appeared in the music library pane in the organizer. I then tried to transfer all the files to my player. I clicked edit>select all and clicked the transfer button between the music library pane and the Zen player pane. Every time a file is attempted to be transfered to the player I get a message stating? "Unable to find track or file in the source location." The only files I CAN transfer is those that were recently imported to the music library, i.e. not from the backup location and after the Windows reinstall. I also tried transfering the files using synch manager but was unsucessful there also.
Can anyone please give me any advice as to what the problem and possible solutions may be.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Can you flash it with firmware / have you tried that?If a firmware flash works, then try formatting the player. There's plenty of posts about how to do both of these tasks. When that's done, try loading some music. If it still give problems, something serious is wrong. Don't want to sound pesimistic but if it's used and you got it on E-Bay, you could have bought a dud. I've never usedEBay before so forgive me when I ask if you have any sort of comeback - e.g 4 day return period or something. Best of luck

  • I am having trouble transfering music and pics from my old Nokia phone to Iphone 4s

Why won't my iphone 4s recognize my old phone so that I can transfer pics and music through bluetooth? It just keeps telling me it is not paired with the device but I can't figure out how to do so. The Nokia phone recognizes the iphone just fine.

Connect you rdevice to your computer/iTunes.  Go to the Photos tab. Choose to have no photos synced over and then 'Apply' the changes.

  • Trouble transfering music to iPhone 5 iOS 7.0.6 from iTunes 11.1.5 on Macbook Pro Snow Leopard 10.6.8

I recently fixed my Macbook Pro and updated the software to Snow Leopard 10.6.8.  I am having trouble syncing my iPhone with iOS 7.0.6 to my iTunes which is 11.1.5.  It gets stuck on step 4 of 4 "Waiting for changes to apply."   I've reset sync services and done a lot of research about what I can do to fix the problem to no avail.  I would appreciate any help availible.
    Thanks

I had the same issues, reloaded itunes, updated driver, blasted everything out, etc., did everything,  short of doing a rain dance.  I finally got it to sync by clicking the box "sync only checked songs and videos".  It also allowed me to sync books, etc.  Good Luck Bwerner25.

  • Ipod doesn't appear in itunes or on desktop - trouble transfering music

When connecting Ipod, it doesn't appear in itunes or on desktop (Windows). Attempted to fix.
Reinstalled itunes and ipod, also upgraded itunes - no success in fixing.
Restored ipod (through computer)- no success in fixing - and of course, lost all songs in ipod.
Now, ipod sometimes appears in itunes, sometimes doesn't.
I've had a little success transfering songs (albeit, inconsistently) back to ipod from itunes, but sporadically.
    Itunes is working fine when playing songs on computer;
Ipod working fine when playing songs on ipod. It's difficult transferring songs back to ipod. I checked cable and port with other equipment. Cable and port appear to be working. When clicking on Safely Remove Hardware, computer identifies ipod as "drive 0." I need help on how to get my ipod to appear in itunes again and fix the transfering problem?

If i uninstall Nokia Pc Suit and reinstall it it would transfer about 4 songs and then the problem would reappear! please help!!

And if you mean you are sending music via Bluetooth from another device, then open those two songs you received earlier>options>save. Now they are saved to Mem card>attachments. and you can delete them from inbox. and can send more. (do the same with them)

  • HT201269 Hi!  I have purchased a new computer and have an older ipod 8th generation.  Have had no trouble transferring music purchases until now.  Seem to have no choice but purchase the icloud subscription.  Anyone else having trouble with this?

Hi!  I have an 8th generation ipod and have purchased a new laptop with windows 8.  I purchased new songs on itunes and can't seem to transfer them to my ipod now.  Doesn't give me an option to check the box under albums like I had to do before my new computer purchase. I have authorized this computer to accept itunes.  Not sure what else to do.  Don't want to lose all my songs already synched.  Help!  Thanks!

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?

  • Transfering music from media player to itunes

I am having trouble transfering music playlists from my media player to itunes. I have tried the 'add a folder' and 'add a file' options and when I click it nothing happens. I have also tried moving the playlists to different files and tryig to add the folder and files and have also been unsuccessful. I have also tried to 'open playlist in itunes' but still does not transfer. It rips CDs ok but can't find a way to transfer music.

Have you tried creating a fresh media library in iTunes or re-installing iTunes? MP3's should not be a problem at all as you might suspect using a "MP3 player"
