Trouble transferring pictures with icloud

My iCloud on both my iPad and iPhone are turned on, but I cannot get the photos that I take with my phone to go into the photo stream, and none of my photos will transfer to my iPad. Anyone have any answers as to why?

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • Transferring pictures with Keywords

    Hi,
I want to transfer a bunch of pictures with the associated keywords to another MAC computer. Whenever I transfer the picture files, they keywords do not copy. Can you help?

    Two ways to do it:
    1. Select the pics in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. Set the Kind: to Jpeg and then check the box at titles and keywords. Then complete the export to the desktop. The files will have the keywords written to the metadata and will be visible in the other iPhoto.
    or
    2. Use iPhoto Library Manager to move pics/albums/events and associated metadata to other libraries.

    TD

  • How should I set up my pictures with iCloud?

I am so confused with Photo Stream and my pictures.
Basically before the iPhone, I had all my pictures all my computer.
Got the iPhone and synced it through iTunes.  This made two folders in my iPhone under Albums.  A PHOTO LIBRARY folder and a My Pictures folder, exactly the same pictures.
QUESTION 1- Why did it do this and how can I fix it?  Is it really taking up double space on my phone.
Then I got into the PhotoStream thing. I enabled it on my phone and download the Control Panel.  Stupid iCloud makes you have two different folders for Uploads and Downloads on your computer.  So I did it, and its working fine.
QUESTION 2- Is there a way to just have ONE folder with pictures for PhotoStream?  I like the idea of Photostream and wireless sharing.
QUESTION 3- Lastly, I had an issue with Uploads not working on PhotoStream, so I changed some permissions on the Upload and Download folder and uninstalled and reinstalled the Control Panel.  Now the pictures that download onto my computer from my phone, have a LOCK symbol next to them and I can't edit them with any pic-editing program.  It gives a "This photo can't be saved because there is a problem with the photo file's properties" .. What is going on?
I know I'm asking for a lot but please HELP!

Question 1: You have to have both folders.  The reason is because the actual photos you synced to your phone from your computer are all in Photo Library.  The My Pictures album only contains links to the pictures in Photo Library, not duplicate pictures.  If you synced multiple folders to your phone they would all appear on your phone as separate albums, and Photo Library would contain the combined pictures from all these albums.
Question 2: No, you have to have a separat upload and download folder using Photo Stream with Windows.
Question 3: Sorry, don't know what's going on there.  You might need to reinstall the iCloud control panel for Windows but I'm not sure.

  • Having trouble transferring contacts with VZ Transfer App?  Come in here!

IF YOU DONT WANT TO READ THE ISSUE I HAD, SKIP DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST FOR INSTRUCTIONS HOW TO SYNC CONTACTS WITHOUT THE VZ TRANSFER APP.
So I think I had the most possible trouble you could have trying to get my contacts from my old flip phone to my iPhone.  I followed the steps to get my contacts onto the web at http://www.verizonwireless.com/backupassistant from my old phone by running backup assistant on there and having that back it up to the website.
All was fine on that end, and I could view my contacts online no problem.
The issue was with the app.  After I turned off Wifi, it went through and verified my phone number, then said it was sending SMS with my access code.
The problem was ... I never ever received that text message.
I tried reinstalling the app, turning wifi on/off again, pressing the resend code button probably 75+ times ... no code.
I then called into Verizon, talked to tier1 help who couldn't help out so they transferred me to tier2 help, and they also had no clue what was the problem.  They basically said since they didn't know, and my texting was working fine, that it had to be an app problem, and that Apple developed the app, so it was basically their problem.
But he then told me that you can sync your contacts to your google email account.  Since I already had a google email account, I gave this a try, and it worked like a charm.
So here are the steps below that I followed and this worked so much easier than dealing with all of the issues I was having.
HOW TO SYNC CONTACTS WITH GOOGLE EMAIL ACCOUNT.
** NOTE - A GOOGLE / GMAIL EMAIL ACCOUNT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS TO WORK
    1. First run backup assistant on your old phone and verify that the contacts actually were back'ed up to the website by going to http://www.verizonwireless.com/backupassistant.
    2. Once you can see your contacts at that webpage, click the SELECT ALL button.
    3. Under the ACTIONS combo box, select the Export option.
    4. When asked which format to save it in, select the OUTLOOKoption, and it will save a .csv file to your PC somewhere.
    5. Once this is done, follow the instructions at the link below
    http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740&topic=14252
If you do not have a gmail or google account yet, you must create one for this process to work.
    6. Now look at your contact on your iPhone, you should see all of them in the list.
I hope this helps out some people because it took me over a day to get my contacts transferred to my new phone and I know what the headache is like.

This user tip should be helpful. It refers to the iPhone, but it's equally valid for iPods as well…

  • Transferring pictures via iCloud

I have a pc, iPhone 4s, and just got the new iPad. I have struggled with how to move pictures from my pc to the phone and now to the IPad. On my last sinc with iTunes on my phone I used iTunes to transfer picture folders. The pictures are now on my phone, as well as in a folder called "photo library" that also appeared. I expected the photos to also appear on my iPad but they did not as they didn't go through photo stream (which is turned on on both devices). What am I doing wrong?

There is a place on the POGO site that links to apple for you to suggest they allow transfer via bluetooth, so not sure that an app would fix it anyway! Oh well - another useless xmas pressie!

  • Trouble transferring pictures to computer

I took some pictures using only the internal memory of my BB Style 9670 and I cannot transfer them to my computer.  This is what I did:  I connected BB device to my PC; opened the BB Desktop Software v6.0.1.18; and  clicked "Pictures" under Media Sync.  This is the message that I got:  "Media storage is not available.  Please check that a media card is installed correctly in your BB device and that mass storage mode is turned on."

With mass storage mode enabled the BlackBerry acts like a usb thumb drive.  So if you go to your start menu>computer - you should see BlackBerry1 and BlackBerry2 under "Devices with removeable storage"   1 is internal memory and 2 is your SD card.
There is a setting which might turn off your access to BlackBerry internal memory.  So if you don't see BlackBerry1, Send your pics to your SD card.  If you have one.
But you need to double click on the BlackBerry1 or 2 to open them up,  Then double click the folder "BlackBerry"  then you will see the folder "Pictures".  From there you can copy the pictures to your desktop.  Or copy pictures from your pc to your BlackBerry.
I never use BlackBerry Desktop software for anything. It honestly just seems to make things more difficult.

  • Trouble sharing photos with iCloud

I am trying to share photos from my wife's iPad mini to my iMac using iCloud.
I created an album with about 20 photos on her iPad and shared it using my email. I received the email invitation on my iMac to subscribe to her album. I double clicked and there is now an icon in iMac iPhoto>iCloud>Family and Friends' Streams with the name of the album from the iPad.
However, there are no photos in the new icon. I have enabled iCloud>Photos>iCloud Photo Sharing in System Preferences on both the iMac and the iPad.
Why aren't the photos showing up in the iMac iPhoto?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

I had to create TIFF files for 30 fotos or so. The other 50 did not pose a problem. I am still not 100% clear why this is. I suspect this has to do with having those photos coming from iPhoto and then imported into Aperture.
Before I hit this issue, I just re-installed Mavericks, because I experienced hanging situations. Mail would have hanging threads ("waiting for semaphore"). Basically after 20 hours or so, apps that use the cloud would all be hanging. There was no way to get this going again, apart from a reboot.
So I decided to reinstall Mavericks.
After the new installation I noticed that some iCloud streams were not visible in Aperture, that is where I created that missing stream and started to copy the photos to it. And that is where I encountered this hang issue in Aperture.
Retrospectively, I suspect the hanging apps were also caused by this.
So for people who experience hanging iCloud apps, try to delete all photostreams and re-set them. If you notice that Aperture becomes unresponsive, Quit Aperture and re-start it. Then right click on the photo and select "edit the photo in an external program". This will create a TIFF version of the photo that caused Aperture to become unresponsive when copying it to the photostream. Reject the original photo and copy the TIFF to the photostream.
Do this will all photos that cause Aperture to become unresponsive when you copy them to a photostream.
Don't forget to rebuild Aperture's database by holding command-option while clicking the Aperture icon. After rebuilding, you will find a lost folder with the fotos that were in the stream.
You may have to re-create the stream after all "bad" photos have been identified and the re-build was successful and then copy all photos in one go.
    Good luck.

  • Trouble transfering pictures from PC to nano

I followed the instructions and examples given in apple's manuals and websites. itunes shows that it is 'optimizing file' for nano. after it is done, the bottom right corner of itunes still shows ZERO photos and there is nothing for me to choose to view when i choose 'Photos' on my nano.
    I'm using windows XP.
    please help?

Hi , i have found transferring photos to the nano to be flawed, firstly i need at least 50mb free to transfer any , when they are on if i reconnect the nano with less than 50mb spare itunes deletes your photos and then complains it doesnt have any room for them on your nano!!!
I now just put them on and switch off photo sync, works for now.

  • Having very difficult time transferring pictures and videos from iPhone 4s to Windows 7!

Hello, after spending over 6 hours trying to transfer all of the files from my 64 gb 4s I have finally given up and decided to seek help here because I have researched just about every help site and/or forum site and there just doesn't seem to be a logical answer.
First I tried using a program called "Phone to PC" and it would keep giving me an error that my iTunes was not open and it was clearly open. It asked me to restart my computer and try again and still no go!
Then I paid for an app called Photosync which seemed to work great at first but anytime a video would try to transfer 100/100 times it would error out towards the end of the file transfer saying that my WiFi connection lost when everything was looking good on my end.
Then I read a post somewhere to use drop box and I went ahead and paid the $9.99 price for 100gb and I'm literally transferring the pictures as we speak and the sad thing is that it is only uploading the pictures in my Camera Roll and not in my photo library.
So I have about 400 pictures in my camera roll and 4,149 pictures in my photo library. It seems as if I have no problems at all getting the pictures from my camera roll but for the life of me I cannot get to the photo library.
When I click on the iPhone from "My Computer" the only files that show up are my camera roll.
I can't believe I am having such a hard time getting these files transferred! I damaged my old laptop that had all those pictures on it and went and bought a terabyte to back everything up on in case I lose my iPhone and I have wasted almost an entire day trying to figure out and I cant seem to find any answers.
Could someone please make me feel like the biggest idiot and tell me there is an easy way and that I was just completely blind???
These pictures mean so much to me...most from my wedding, honeymoon, birth of my son, and my sons whole first year.
The videos are equally important as the videos are the reason for my 64 gb only having about 4 gb left
    PLEASE HELP ME

Have you tried transferringing the videos via usb (sinc you're having trouble transferring them with PhotoSync) as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 and just transferring the photos with PhotoSync?

I'm assuming you have Photo Stream set up of both devices.  However, it seems many users are experiencing the same as you - my take is that streaming photos is not foolproof yet.
