Trouble uninstalling iTunes from Tiger

Hi all,
This is my first post here and i'm new to Apple. I've been trying to get rid of
iTunes 6.0.4? from Tiger with no success. Right now it's sitting in the Trash. I just dragged the icon from Applications and put it there. Unfortunately,when Itry to empty it I keep getting a message stating that I can't do so because some "iTunes Helper" is in use which it's not, at least I don't think it is. I wasn't even using iTunes. Now, when i drag the icon out the Trash and try to open it says that it can't open because may be damaged. I just want it off my computer and would appreciate any help in doing so. I also have a much earlier iTunes on the OS 9.2.2 and that's enough for me but maybe that's got something to do with it? i didn't partition the HD for each OS either so maybe there's an interference, I don't know. Hope someone can help.

Check to see under System Preferences (the light switch on the Dock) - System>Accounts>Login Items - Check to see if the iTunes Helper Application is checked. If so de-select. Log out and then log back in and empty the trash.
You can also try from the Finder Menu>Secure Empty Trash.

Was having trouble burning CD. Uninstalled iTunes from PC the reinstalled iTunes. The first installation I got a messaghe saying that download was interrupted. I restarted te download and completed it. Then got another error message that a registry file was missing that is used in downloading and burning CD-s. I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

Hi All,
I have uninstalled iTunes from an IBM ThinkPad X40 running XP and I now get the iTunesHelper Error2 screen (Apple Application Support was not found). I do not want to re-install iTunes as I am now a mac user. However I want to get rid of the message from the XP machine as it is irritating and I want to use it standalone for something else.
Any ideas?

Syncing shouldn't trouch you photos unless you have photos in a Photo Library album. These would be photos that were synced to your phone from your computer. If you do have any, you'll need to use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your computer prior to syncing.
If you prefer to backup your camera roll photos prior to syncing, open iTunes and go to Preferences>Devices and check "Prevent...from syncing automatically". Then connect your phone to your computer and import them as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
Then, to minimize data loss, follow the steps in this user tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141. To follow the steps, first open iTunes and go to View>Show Sidebar. Also, Transfer Purchases is now located in File>Devices.

Doublechecking something Emcee. I see you've got Windows 7 x64, so I'm assuming you've got at least 4 GB of RAM. Do you also have an NVIDIA USB EHCI chipset on that PC? If so, see the following Microsoft document:

You can uninstall iTunes on a Windows-based computer by going to the Start menu and choosing Control Panel. Look for an icon labeled "Programs and Features." Within this menu, simply scroll down until you see iTunes, right click on it with your mouse and choose uninstall.

You should be able to uninstall iTunes by going into Control Panel on your computer, finding iTunes in the list of your installed programs, highlighting it, and clicking Uninstall at the top of that list.

Trouble uninstalling iTunes 11 on Windows 7

I'm trying unsuccessfully to uninstall iTunes 11 from my PC laptop; I want to go back to iTunes 10.7 (for the cover flow, of course).
When I try to click "uninstall" in Control Panel, it says "Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists and that you can write to it."
I don't know what that means; I'm not super computer savvy so I don't know how to manually uninstall. Nor does iTunes come with its own uninstallation file.
More info: I just installed the new iTunes today. I made sure it isn't running (neither is Quicktime or any other Apple product). Please, someone help me.

How can I uninstall iTunes from my PC and update my iPhone software?

I've been trying to update my iPhone 4 from iOS 4.1 to the newest version but I've encountered problem after problem.
First when I tried to update it through iTunes it said 'it cannot be restored at this time because the iPhone software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable at this time'.
Now when I connect my iPhone to my laptop it says 'iTunes requires a newer version of Apple Mobile Device Support. Please uninstall both Apple Mobile Device Support and iTunes, then install iTunes again.'
So when I got to the control panel to uninstall iTunes it says 'the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your personnel for assistance.'
I've been looking for a solution for hours and cannot find anything, I tried one solution which involved Regedit but it didn't work.
Can someone please please help me? I'm beginning to loose my mind!
