Trouble updating Application Manager so I can update to Acrobat XI

I've tried a number of times to download Acrobat XI. Before it will download, Application Manager opens, but an updater then starts running. About 75% of the way through I get this error message:
"Adobe Genuine Software Validation Failure. The product you are trying to install is not an Adobe Genuine Software and appears to be counterfeit."
That's nuts! I'm doing it right from the Adobe site. I've tried rebooting and starting over, but I get the same message. How do I get past this to update the Application Manaager so I can update my software?

Hi Sharon,
My Adobe Tech support guy helped me find the Adobe Application Manager download file on my computer. We simply ran it again from the download and it worked fine this time. Something wrong with the previous installation of AAM on my PC-based system (windows 7). I'm installing Acrobat XI Pro now.

Are you clicking on the Try link for After Effects from the Creative Cloud Apps page at https://creative.adobe.com/apps?
You can manually download and install the Adobe Application Manager:

Mac OS X link here http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774.

  • How do I open the updates window in "Adobe Application Manager"?

How do I open the updates window in "Adobe Application Manager"? Or can I or should I....??
I am a brand new Cloud member.  I heard of the Retina update.  Assuming this was where the updates would logically appear I went to the "Adobe Application Manager" app first.  Without closing the "Adobe Application Manager" I opened Photoshop and went to the help menu and selected "Updates..."; a second window opened in the already open "Adobe Application Manager".
    I selected update all.
    The result is below:

Now, I closed the "Adobe Application Manager" and opened "Photoshop" again and again selected "Updates..." from the help menu.  The "Adobe Application Manager" opened again with just one window this time and the updates happened correctly.
I was hoping one of the updates would be to the "Adobe Application Manager", I don't think so.
So, If I were you I wouldn't select "Updates..." from an Adobe app unless the "Adobe Application Manager" is closed until they fix it...
Current version: Adobe® Application Manager - Version 7.0.0.128 (7.0.0.128) Note the Two windows in the "Adobe Application Manager" in the attached image.

The updates are currently available by going to Help>Updates within the Application.  Once you invoke the Updater, which is a component of the Adobe Application Manager, it will locate and apply the updates.  It looks like most of your updates have failed to install.  I would recommend you begin by trying to apply the updates that are available on our product update page at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/ and seeing if you face the same difficulty.
If you continue to experience problems with applying the updates then please review your installation log to determine the cause of the failure.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

  • Application Manager causes CC updates to fail

I'm using a mac 10.8.4.  I have all of the creative cloud apps installed, and the creative cloud desktop app, but it did not replace application manager.  Whenever I have an update for a cc ap, both the cc desktop and application manager pop up with update numbers.  Up until now this has just been annoying, but now when I try to update the updates fail and tell me to "Please close all open instances of the application manager." I can't find a way to close the application manager.  Come on, man!  How do I fix this?

    Remove AdobeAAMDetect.plugin from HD/library/internet plugins/
    Relaunch the Browser
    Go to https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
Sign in with Adobe ID and password and download CC desktop app.

  • Edge Animate site says it's still free, but it's missing in Adobe Application Manager list.

    http://html.adobe.com/edge/animate/ says:
"Get started with Edge Animate and the rest of the Edge Tools & Services with a free Creative Cloud membership"
but there's no An icon at the Creative Cloud site interface or in the Adobe Application Manager list.
Can someone please provide some info about this? I hope that the reason for this is taht it's just some update that's on it's way, not the cancelation of free usage.
    Tnx in advance.

True, WinXP is the problem. I've been looking for the requirements for the Edge (though that x64 os version is required) and it states that Win7 is a must.
That solves it. Thank you for your effort.
Hope this clears things up for other people.

  • Application Manager displaying an "Up to date" label next to software I don't actually have

I uninstalled and deleted the whole CS I previously owned to download and license it from CC.
Now I haven't been able to download the software again since the Application manager displays an "Up to date" next to the programs I had (but don't anymore). I checked many times and I don't have any files related to Adobe other than the application manager. I can only download the software I didn't previously have, and the weirdest thing to me is that I'm still able to "update" that software.
Anyone knows what to do or has the same problem?

uninstall (anything still installed from cs6) and run the cleaner:  http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

  • Adobe Application Manager says its up to date but

    Hi,
I have just purchased a subscription with Adobe.  I have installed the application manager.  I installed acrobat pro but I noticed that photoshop, indesign, illustrator and premire pro CS6 family says up to date.  There are no icons or applications downloaded to my computer.  Is there a way to reset this application manager so I can instal and launch these applications?  I'm also using a mac computer.

  • Adobe Application Manager Woes

Is there a way to completely disable the Adobe Application Manager? It always fails to update programs properly and I have COMPLETELY lost faith in it. I have had to uninstall/reinstall Illustrator and Photoshop several times after it has broken my installation. If there is a update for a CS6 program there's an 80% chance I'll end up with having the program updated rendered unusable, and be forced to uninstall/reinstall. I just can't afford the downtime! What's up ADOBE?

then i'm not sure why you're using application manager.

  • Application Manager says Photoshop is already installed?

Finally decided to join Creative Cloud. Downloaded the latest version of Adobe Application Manager, and I can't download Photoshop because it is listed as "Up to date." I need to fix this problem ASAP!
Note also that I previously had CS5 (master) installed on my computer (I use a Mac), but before I did any of this, I removed all apps from my hard drive (including emptying the trash). Not sure if the two are connected, but if so, I find it strange that only Photoshop is the problem when I had the full collection?
    Thanks

Uninstalled Application appears as still Installed. SOLUTION:  I'd like to share something about Uninstalling apps . Sometimes when installing an  "X" app (using the Adobe Application Manager) a piggy-back app "Y" gets installed, also. And this without you noticing.  To succeed uninstalling, make sure both the main "X" app and its piggybacks ( "Y" ) are also uninstalled.  Normally, the uninstaller window will ask you if you want to uninstall the "piggy-back" app(s).  Say Yes ! You wanna uninstall everything that the uninstaller window proposes you.  Otherwise, Application Manager will consider app "X" as still Installed and/or updated, etc.
It happened to me with PREMIERE (my "X" app - the one that I really needed).  By installing Premiere, a piggy-back came along (app "Y" - the one that I didn't know would be also installed ).  That piggy-back was Adobe Encore. It was not until I uninstalled Encore, that Adobe Application Manager recognized my previous Uninstallation of Premiere.  My Fault !  Because, when I started to uninstall Premiere a little window pops-up, and asked me if I also wanted to remove Encore.  I said No.  And that's why Premiere was still showing up as "Installed" in Adobe Application Manager.  So, I uninstalled Encore using the uninstall app inside Encore's folder, and now I'm ready and clean to make fresh installation of Premiere (and its piggy-backed Encore).  Funny, because, Encore means "AGAIN" .  Here we go encore ! GOOD to share this.  Adobe Cloud rocks!  Peace !  fr. Luis "Netweaver"

  • Does Application Management Pack (for E-Business) need a separate license?

Hi, I am licensed for Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Release 1 Grid Control 11.1.0.1.0.
Now I want to add Application Management Pack for E-Business R11i and R12. Do I need to purchase a new license?
From my existing installation there is a link About OEM -> ... License Information; I don't see any entry for E-Business Suite management.
    Thanks,

Yes, you need to license Application Management Suite for E-Business Suite to cover the EBS management functionality. In both EM 11g and EM 12c, you need to download the plug-in for EBS. In the case of EM 12c, you can simply use the self-update feature to quickly get the EBS plug-in. For 11g, you will have to get it via e-Delivery.
Here is the OTN home page for packaged application management where you can find details and self-running demos of the EBS management functionality:

  • Application Manager Installation

I started a student Creative Cloud account, and by instruction, the first thing I needed to do was download the Adobe Application manager. I download the dmg, and double click to open the CC Installer, but every time I open it, the installer just disappears about half way through the download - and I have no idea where it goes.
I can't do much of anything without the Application Manager - but I can't seem to download it.
I'm on a 2012 Macbook Pro Retina with Mac OSX Yosemite.
    Thank you for any help.

    HI Clayton
Did you download the updated CC app manager from here?
    https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
Try repairing the disk permissions. Check to see if there are any errors during the install
You can follow the steps in this link. This should help https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-cc-installation-download.html
You can use the Adobe Clean tool to remove the software if you need to reinstall.

  • Application manager insisting I "renew my subscription" but I have a standalone version of acrobat. Any way to convince the manager that my product is registered? There does not seem to be any manual additions in the application manager app.

I am using Mac OS X (yosemite). I had a creative cloud student subscription for a year (expired in September) and I did not renew. However, I did purchase adobe acrobat XI. I am not sure of the exact day it stopped working (before or after OS upgrade), but now the application manager takes over after I start acrobat and insists I do not have a subscription and must renew. I checked the web and my product is registered and I have the serial number, which I enter upon installation. I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything to no avail. I even contacted adobe and they seemed to have a hard time understanding why I was having a problem since the product was registered. I could not devote much time to the online chat so needless to say, my problem still persists.

Moving this discussion to the Acrobat Installation & Update issues forum.
Adugasjr please remove your current installation of Acrobat and reinstall.  If you need a fresh copy of the installation files they are available at Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X.
