Trouble updating software version to 2.0

In iTunes, when I click on "Update" software version, it states that the version I have (1.1.4) is the latest version. Anyone knows what I need to do in order to update the iPhone software version to 2.0? Thanks!

I cannot seem to download iTunes 7.7 either. When I click on "Help", then I click on "Check for updates", it shows me that 7.7 is available and asks if I want to download it. When I click on "Yes", nothing happens. I've rebooted the computer to see if it helps, but it doesn't download. I never tried deleting iTunes from the computer and reinstalling it again. If I did this, would I lose what is on the iPhone as well as my purchase history?

Error when downloading Iphone update software version 3.1

Have been trying to downlaod and update my Iphone 3Gs to the latest 3.1 software
using Itunes version 9.0.0.70 but after 20-30% I get an error message 3529 which states that my network time session has expired and to check my network settings and it will stop.I will then try downloading it again, and the same thing happens
after downloading about 95Mb of the 306.2MB file. Can someone help me?
And I think its taking abit too long to download this file as the download time
shows about 3-4 hours.

I have a similar problem, My Iphone has gone into recovery mode since trying to install 3.1. I have correct updated software ITunes 9, QT 7.6.4, Safari 4.0.3. My iPhone is in recovery mode and when connected to iTunes it is indicated that the phone software is up to date. To recover the phone there is no option provided except to update the software which is 306 MB (20 hours download time for me). the first time I attempted I got an error after 10 hours. Is there another way to recover my phone?

Unable to Update Software version

I own a generation 3 iTouch and every time I connect to my iTunes it tell me that it will check next time for updates. My iTouch in currently running:
software version 4.2.1 and it is extremely slow. I don't know what I can do so it can update the software to 4.3. I have wiped out the itouch already and still I am not able to update the software version.
Can someone please help!!

I just noticed that it is only at 2G. Is there anything I can do to upgrade since the software version that I do have make everything on the iPod work extremely slow?

I read that the new software version 10.1.0.273 for Q10 was released for Bell, Rogers, and Telus. Does anyone know where it is? It is not available through BlackBerry Link.

Using iOS 4.3.5 and trying to update software (iPod Software Update) via iTunes. I keep getting the error message "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod. The network connection was reset."
Any ideas?

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
- Next try the manual install method of:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
- Then try on another computer

You would have to purchase a retail or full install version of OS X 10.5
Leopard (not available at the store) from a seller, or from someone who
has a retail - not computer specific version - install DVD, who no longer
is running it in their computer.
Apple sales support, as indicated in the Apple web site, may be contacted
and you could ask for a product specialist (by phone) concerning this need
for the Leopard OS X 10.5 install DVD; since you need it to use the new
iPod Touch with your older computer. In the US, 1-800-MY-APPLE is the
main sales/support number. There also is an AppleCare number that I no
longer remember, which in some instances may be conditionally helpful.
If you have an Intel-based Mac computer (not a PowerPC G3/G4/G5) you
could likely use the latest OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard upgrade. It will not
work in the older PowerPC Macs; nor will discs from another computer.
For an upgrade to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, I was fortunate to be looking
locally and found individuals who gave me good deals on Leopard 10.5
retail DVD install software; and other Apple-related items; a great deal.
Other options include auction and online sales, where the price for the
Leopard 10.5 and Tiger 10.4 retail DVD install discs can be sky high.

I can´t update software version 1.3 for my iPod nano from iTunes 7.0.2

Error -48 Everything works properly - Connection attempt to Apple web site was successful. Connection attempt to iTunes Store was successful. Secure connection attempt to iTunes Store was successful.
Pop up informs me about new version of ipod software 1.3 and when I start to download, appx. a 30 seconds to error -48 pops up. Please is there any other chance how to update my nano to version 1.3?

hmmmmm.
do you have any better success if you try doing a "download only" of the 1.3 firmware, and then doing the update once it has been safely downloaded?

Trouble Updating Software

I'm trying to update the software on my iPhone 3GS to 3.1.3. Right now I'm at 3.1. I've tried twice and I keep getting the error that my iPhone couldn't be updated because the firmware file is not compatible. I've updated my phone before, so I'm not sure why I'm having problems now. My husband updated his iphone on the same computer with no problem. I tried both the Update & Install button on the popup screen and I also tried just clicking on Update on the iPhone page. I ejected the phone and reconnected it between the two attempts. Any ideas? I've looked through the apple support and haven't seen this problem.

From the Finder open the Mac HD, Open the Applications folder, open the Utilities folder and double click the Disk Utilities icon. Once open select the Mac HD volume with the OS in the upper left column of the window (it should just below the HD manufacturers ID number). Now click Repair Disk Permissions in the right lower column. Close Disk Utilities.
You can also use the Combo Updater.

Every time we go to update our software (from OS X 10.6.5) an error message comes up at the end of the downloading process that says that the update may be corrupted and could not be saved. Has anyone else had this issue? What can we do to get our system upgraded?

Install the OS X 10.6.8 combo release which contains all updates, which can be downloaded from here. Use Disk Utility to repair permissions before installing the combo release, install it, and repair permissions again afterwards. Then run Software Update in case anything else needs updating.

II have downloaded several Apps that state they work with iTouch but they will not install and give error message that I need updated software, while all my updates available are installed on both iTouch and my computer iTunesWhy will Mindtools app not

My iPod Touch will not function with certain updated apps ie MindTools, YP.com, Mint, Ymessenger etc and I get the error message that I need to install updated software to load these apps to my iPod Touch; however, I have double checked and all the software updates have been loaded in obht the iPod touch and my computer. There are no updates availabe; yet the error message on App is a software update is required for App. "was not installed because it requires a newer version of iPod software."
The iPod Touch is using 3.1.3 software and it tells me that is the current and updated software version.

You are correct in that your 1G iPod Touch has all the latest software updates. It can only be updated to version 3.1.
However that Apps you are trying to download and install likely require iOS version 4.0 or later, which is not compatible with your iPod Touch. So either you'll need to buy a newer iPod Touch or find other Apps that are suitable replacements if possible.
