Trouble updating to Pages 2.0.1 v2

I recently tried to update to the Pages 2.0.1 v2 from Pages 2.0 using software update. Near the end of the download process, a read circle with a ! mark comes up followed by the following message....
"Make sure you have permission to update /tmp/501/TemporaryItems/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate and try again."
I could find this thing to get permission. I repaired permissions using both Disk Utility on drive and CD. No effect.
Next, I tried to download the file from Apple. Got a message... Could not open the disk image. "codec overrun"
Could someone please set me straight on what I need to do to update.
One last bit of background. I installed the trial version first. Then bought the Disc and installed on my computer. All was working fine till I tried to update to version 2.0.1v2.
Same message and effect with Keynote update 3.0.1v2

When you bought iWork, you didn't need to install it. All you needed to do was open up the trial version of Pages or Keynote, then give it your new serial number.
What it sounds like is the update thinks you still have a trial version. Did you ever enter the serial number?

    Ok so I have uploaded my website before in the past, so my website is out there (http://www.lochalarchade.com), I added a few widgets and some adsense ads in several parts of the page, it couldn't upload, went on something about "please make sure you're online and try again", by that time I was using the "on-disc" version and didn't update.
    I then updated my iWeb '08 to 2.0.4 and I'm still facing the same problem, what happens is when I publish, I get the uploading indicator and it goes pretty quick and stops at the last few pixels for a few hours then tells me it timed out.
    So my question is this, is there any way to publish my site page by page separately? If not, what can I do to solve this problem, I know it has nothing to do with my internet connection, I have uploaded large files through iWeb before and it didn't give me any timeouts, my site is a podcasting site so large files are part of the site's norm. so what am I suppose to do?

    Asatiir : publish to folder works
    Just to see if this works : after 'publish to a folder' can you try to upload 1 page (and it's associated files/folder) at a time to MobileMe via iDisk in the finder (or any other upload application)?
    Is that helpful to find out what page is giving problems ?
    An other way to find out a problematic page is by looking at the progress indicator when you do a 'Publish to MobileMe' , with a little bit of luck you can see the name of the page before you get the error message.
    A 3rd way to find out a problematic page is by looking at what did get publish to MobileMe in your iDisk. This method is not as accurate as the 2 previous as not only the problematic file will be missing but also all pages that (should have) followed.
    As it's not the widgets and Old Toads tip did not work in your case, can you have a look at the filenames of your pages and the links you've entered in those pages ?
    Several other users getting this error were able to spot an invalid character or a problematic ligature in the filename or a link.

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.   • Having trouble updating to 9.1.1

    Is anyone having trouble updating iTunes? It says there's a new version available (9.1.1) but I can't update it(iTunes notification pops up and tells me this.) Even using Apple Software Update doesn't work. I know this because when I try to update iTunes, it (ASU) tells me all my software is up to date which isn't true. My version is 9.0.3.

    When trying to use Apple Software Update, no update for iTunes+Quicktime shows up. It just says "All your software is up-to-date". When trying to check for an update through iTunes, I get the prompt to update: A new version of iTunes (9.1.1) is available. Would you like to download it now? Then there's the 2 'radio' buttons that say "Download iTunes" and "Don't Download". If I click the "Download iTunes" button, nothing happens(meaning no browser window opens up to the iTunes download page)

    Help I am having trouble updating our Ipod's & Iphone.  I have followed the troubleshooting on Itunes error page, but still not working.
    I don't have an error number just this message -  "There was a problem downloading the software for the iphone "A's iphone" the network connection was reset.
    Itunes downloads the update, but at the end gives the error message. I have the latest itunes installed and Microsoft is up to date, nothing else connected via  usb. This happens with our ipods as well. Thankyou

    Hello guys. I'm having trouble opening Instagram pages with Safari. I try to open them and it seems to be loading for one second, but then it's all blank, there's nothing on the screen. Funny thing is, when I try to open an Instagram page that doesn't exist, it opens the Instagram NOT FOUND page. I don't know what's going on. I've tried everything, from software updates to restarting my Mac etc. Please help.

    Because that site refers you to apps for smartphone devices. Not for your Mac.
    Regardless of the Instagram website, v10.5.4 is an outdated version of Safari. You need to update your system software.
    Click your Apple menu  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Software Update.
    Restart your Mac after the updates are installed, then try Instagram on Safari.

  • Trouble loading myspace pages

    I have been having trouble loading myspace pages on my intel macbook for the last few days. This is a sudden problem. Everything worked fine till then and I can't figure out what triggered the change.
    I'm using an iMac FP800 as a "software base station." That is, the iMac is connected to the cable modem and is sharing the internet connection through airport. My intel macbook connects to the internet wirelessly through this network. The iMac runs 10.3.9 and the macbook is 10.4.11. The same thing happens when using Safari as well as when using Firefox.
    The iMac can load myspace pages with no problem. When I try to do the same thing on the macbook, it seems to hang, then finally times out with only a few text links visible on the page.
    As I said, it all worked flawlessly on both machines till two days ago and I'm positive I haven't changed any settings.
    For what it's worth, here are the errors from console/log when I try to load a page:

    Have you run all of the OS X updates as asbestoslung and others have suggested above? I have not really seen a confirmation on that. Click the Blue Apple in the menu bar. Choose Software Update (just in case you are not aware how).
    I can tell you for sure that the problem is not Mac related. I have had no problems at all on MySpace (other than there is no Mac version of MySpace messenger). I have used a MBP, iMac and Mac Pro to visit.
    It is also not browser related as I have used Safari, Firefox, OmniWeb and Flock to visit MySpace without the problems you are describing.
    You might want to try doing those updates first. Once that has been eliminated as the cause we can continue to troubleshoot from there if you continue to have problems.

    I've been catching up on The Office online through my xfinity streampicks subscription, but now I get an error message saying "Hmmm, we're having trouble watching that page." I just watched an episode yesterday, and the last season JUST ended at the beginning of the summer. Is it really gone from streampicks??

  • Trouble Updating Flash

    Hello, I'm having a bit of a problem updating my Flash Player
    About 30 minutes ago, I went to the Flash Player Help page to check if my Flash Player was up to date.
    It was not, so I tried to update it to the latest version (I have version 15.0.0.223, apparently I need version 15.0.0.239).  I did the download, and I did not have any troubles that I saw.  No errors, no freeze-ups, no nothing.  The cloud animation at the bottom of the page is also working as it should.
    However, when I went to check if my computer/browser had the most recent update, the page still says that I do not have the most current version.
    Seeing as I got the download I have from the official download page, I would assume that the download page is giving me the incorrect version.
    So, where can I find and download the most current version? 
    Also noting that the Adobe Flash Player Distribution | Adobe page does not show the most recent version either.
    Just wondering what's going on and how I can get the most recent version of Flash Player...

    It appears you were all attempting to install while we were releasing the new version.  It takes a bit of time to clear cache on the various servers and the updates to propogate around the globe.
    The new version should be available.  Please try again.

  • Trouble getting iWeb pages to hosting site

    I am having trouble getting my updated iWeb pages loaded to my GoDaddy hosting web site. Every time I update a page in iWeb and then upload the pages by ftp to Godaddy, the home page either does not show up or it is badly distored or botched. Godaddy says it is an iWeb problem. The guy said something about "scripting". I am lost and frustrated. Help please!

    Thanks for the help. I have rebuilt the Index page, again. I tried the local folder, saved to Sites on the Mac. Then I uploaded just the index page directly to Godaddy using the ftp in my file manager, but this time nothing.
    I went back to the iWeb ftp to upload the Index page to the subfolder in my root directory on GoDaddy and moved all the files I could find to the root. THis time I have some of the elements of the index page in place (pictures, links) but none of the template background, colors, or fonts. All the other pages are OK.

    I just uninstalled it and am waiting for it to reinstall. I sincerely hope that I have not lost everything that I worked on so hard. Now that mobile me is gone, I have not been able to go between devices to transfer things. I was merely trying to take a document I had worked on and open it in pages, but it said my version was too old. When I updated, it wouldn't load. Now I cannot do anything. I hope that the reinstall fixes it without losing everything. Please advise!!! Yes, I am in panic mode.

    After updates to Pages and several other applications I received an update to Mavericks 10.9, all of which were downloaded and uploaded to my MacBook Pro. After the uploads I created a document in Pages which I saved to my folder. Now when I try to open it I      get a message that says I need the latest version of Pages to open this document. What do I need to do to reload the last update to Pages so I can open my document?

    In both cases you have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
    Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
    Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
    You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
    Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
    Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
    Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
    Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
    All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
    Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
    Judging from sterling r's response Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
    Note: Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

    Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
    Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

    We are all busy with many other problems in Pages 5.
    Unless you have found some real reason to use Pages 5 just go back to Pages '09 which should still be in your Applications folder, until Apple sorts this all out.
