Trouble uploading pictures to website

I try to upload pictures to my webiste to the server, but the
webpage just shows an empty box with no picture when displayed in
IE. I tried saving the images for web in Photoshop, but that didn't
seem to work. Any ideas?

note the path starts with ../
That means "GO UP ONE FOLDER LEVEL"
The page is in the root level of the site.
I'm guessing you have the site defined incorrectly.
Define the Local Site folder to the folder containing
member_login.html
If the remote site requires the files to be in a subfolder
such as httpdocs
or public_html or www, put that exact folder name in the
"host directory"
line of the remote server info.
When done, the local and remote sites should be mirror
images, with the
homepage at the root top most level.
As others have pointed out, there are also absolute paths to
your hard
drive- the paths start with file:///

Trouble uploading photos to website from iPhoto

I am having trouble uploading photos onto a website from iPhoto. It will allow me to upload certain photos but others it doesn't give me the option to click "Open" - it is greyed out.

Exactly what is your work flow?

Trouble uploading pictures from safari

everytime i try to upload a picture to a site on safari it opens into my photobooth documents and freezes safari so all i can do is force quit, i cant upload pictures at all. how do i fix this?

I'm a photographer and I use deviantart.com. I was trying to upload some pictures i had edited in aperture to my website(sarabil1.deviant.com) and it uploaded it the original and didn't have any of the edits i made on it in aperture. i looked in the deviantart faq is this is what i found:
"One of the main reasons colors change when a piece is submitted because the piece was saved with a color profile embedded. Since browsers cannot read this color profile it will not be displayed along with your image. Re-saving your image without a color profile embedded should rectify this issue. "
so my question is-how do i save it without a color profile embedded and if i do will my edits show up when i save it or no? thanks!!

There is a whole lot of this story that is missing both on your workflow as well as deviantart.com's explanation.
1) Make sure that you are using Export Version not Export Master.
2) When using export version make sure that you are exporting with/to an sRGB color profile.

Trouble uploading pictures to Flickr in PSE11

When I go to Flickr via Share in PSE 11, I try to select PICs to upload. However, the files selected are not placed in the Items section to be uploading. Suggestions?

Yes. Has been authorized. When I get to the preview window and click on the "+" icon to add files, it goes to the Add Media window where I select individual pictures. Then I hit the Add Selected Media button. Then I hit Done and returns to the Upload to Flickr window. However, no items are seen in the previw window. Interesting the short processing windows appear transiently but not sure what they are doing. The size and format of the pics are ~ 6 MB and JPGs.

Troubles with uploading pictures

Im having problems uploading pictures onto websites other than fb. I'm not even given the option to click on upload image from my iPad 2. Does anybody else have this problem?

It's not a feature of iPad. There is a free app called Ptoobucket you can download from the App Store (a free app btw), which will let you to this.......

I can't upload any pics to the web from iphoto anymore, I click "upload pictures" and it freezes my computer

Whenever I click "upload pictures" from websites like picmonkey, shutterfly, jibjab, iphoto doesn't pop up like it us to..suddenly when it does, I'm unable to click on any pics and then it freezes my computer and I have to "force quit" everything open to use safari.. THis has been happening for approx 2 wks now

Why can't I upload pictures on some websites anymore? It just gives me an IO error, but works fine on Explorer.

I used to be able to upload pictures on Wordpress and other websites just fine. Now all I get is an "IO error" message, but the same websites work fine with Microsoft Internet Explorer.

The iCab browser can upload to some sites : http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/icab-mobile-web-browser/id308111628?mt=8 . Whether it will work on your site I don't know.

Eprint center: unable to upload picture's profile

Hi, since 2 years I'm trying several times to upload picture profile on hpeprintcenter website (format jpg max 32 Kb size 274x320) but without success. I also tried to push delete file and disconnet, then upload again, but nothing.I also tried to upload different picture files in jpeg files, but nothing! Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
It would appear to me that even though it is still on the ePrint site, adding a picture is not available anymore. HP is eliminating the ePrintCenter site and moving to HPConnected, in doing that some features may have been removed.
I have just tried to upload a picture and I was unable to as well, so it is not just you that can not upload a picture.

Using Applescript for uploading pictures on the Internet

Hello!
I was wondering if there was a way to use Applescript with Firefox (or another browser)...?
We have many many villas on our website, each one with lots of pictures. We are constantly adding new villas to our site and amending old ones.
To add pictures we go to a page in our cms for each villa, located there is a drop down menu - image 1, image 2, 3 etc etc etc
For each one we have to manually browse for and attach the photo. As you can guess this is a time consuming process, we have asked the web designer before for this but he is so busy and we have other more important stuff for him to be working on.
As Applescript is so nifty I was wondering if anybody had an idea on how to use it for this process - i.e. have a folder full of pictures on the desktop and Applescript can add them?
I have no idea if this is possible, any ideas?

Yeah I completely understand, I just wanted to see if anybody knew if it could be done.
Obviously for security reasons I can't let anybody into our CMS, so looks like it's a bit of an impossible task.
Although it would be awesome to simply change the script slightly for each villa and let it do it all, this would be stupidly complicated as there are many menus to navigate to get to the uploading picture area.
It would be great if I could do all that manually then once on that page (or given the page url to Applescript) set Applescript running to upload all the images for me.

The drop down menu contains:
Villa Plan
Small Location Map
Image Gallery 1
Image Gallery 2
etc
etc
I could arrange a folder with the pictures in order (i.e. Villa Plan first, then Small location Map, then the picture for 1 etc) so no worries about the Villa Plan and location map.
I've got a feeling I'm just going to have to do it manually (I shall forever be uploading pictures), but I thought I would give it to some of you geniuses to mull over!
For whoever creates a script I'll give you a discounted stay in Paradise... there's an incentive!!

Changing pages and uploading pictures.

I am uploading my website to Godaddy. No .mobile me. I want members of my site to be able to upload pictures, change backgrounds, add music or videos. change the look of there page. I might be going out of my realm here, but if someone could guide me and than I will determine if I should go on. Also there would have to be a password for each user so no one can go to there page and make changes. Is there a service,templates or a generator that you can get where you can deign a page for users to modify?

No, now with iWeb. iWeb creates and edits the site locally and then uploads the changes to the server.
There may be some online site hosting services that let you do everything online where you might be able to do what you want. Everyone would have access to the account to make changes/additions. I'm not familiar with any.

I am publishing directly to an FTP server (option 1). Is this the optimal method or should I be publishing to a folder and then (how do/would I?) publish to my hosting domain?
I'm wondering if this has really anything to do with the publishing process, or whether it just has to do with the photos and/or the photo albums. I've deleted the photo albums with the missing pictures from my site on iweb thinking a file might be corrupt. (I'm getting the albums from iphoto -- drag/drop method into iweb) I then replaced these albums with the same albums as the previous ones from iphoto and then published my site again -- and the EXACT same photos were once again missing in the NEW albums as were missing in the old albums...
Maybe it is a publishing issue, or it could be a photo/file issue. However, these albums aren't very large -- the largest containing 135 photos --
Please! if you have any suggestions or ideas as to what is happening I would be greatly appreciative!
I'm pulling my hair out here trying to diagnose the problem...
