Trouble viewing apple product manuals

From reading the troubleshooting, I shouldn't be having this problem.  The product manual is supposed to open in Safari.  That's all I use and have never attempted to download another browser.  I also have Adobe installed.  When I click on "open manual," a new window or tab does not open.  Rather, it appears that it wants to open in the same window with a resulting gray screen and no errors.
Any help would be appreciated.  Just purchased an iPhone 5 and was trying to get up to speed.

Quit Safari.
Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy/paste:    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Click Go then move the Adobe PDF Browser plugin to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari to test.

You may want to download and read the manual for your phone. It may answer a lot of the basic questions.

How can I view my pictures that were backed up to iTunes? I no longer have an apple product but need to view the pictures for very important reasons.

If you mean backed up as part of an iPhone backup in iTunes?  If so, you would have to use 3rd party software to extract them from the backup, such as iPhone Backup Extractor.

  • I have NO apple products but I need to view a shared iCloud calender from another user. How can I do this? He does not want it public.

Basically the subject says it all. I do not have any apple products. I do have an apple ID but apple wont let me set up an icloud account without any apple products. I was invited to view a shared calender by an Apple user that I NEED to be able to view. It is a private, invite-only calender. Apparently apple wont let me view this shared calender without an iCloud account (even though I still have an apple ID regular account). I cannot set up an iCloud account without a Mac or an iOS products, which I do not own. This is ridiculous but there has to be a work around. Any suggestions?

I would love to setup an iCloud ID. Trust me, I would love nothing more. Apple wont let me without an Apple device.

  • Trouble receiving form submissions from Apple products????

Created my first form for a small private school, tested it several times successfully receiving submissions.  Posted the form on a wiki for students to access and provide submissions.  Have received multiple submissions from PC users however none submitted from an Apple product has been received.  Have confirmed this with Apples on the school network, outside the school and private Apple laptops using the schools guest network.  Did i not do something that would make my form compatible with Apple?

That is likely the problem then, this FAQ explains:
    http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2653
A web form works in any browser. You should have no issue with a web form (though PDF forms have some capabilities that are not availble in a web form - like printing, saving then submitting later)

  • All Apple products on my computer are not working properly

Hello, i am having trouble with my itunes, Quicktime, and all other apple products on my computer.
This all start when i tried to update my Itunes(which was working fine minus this problem) and it would not let me. It kept giving me the error "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" when i hit ok "The path C\:user\Danie\appdata\Local\Apple\Apple software update\ Itunes64.msi cannot be found verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package Itunes64.msi in a folder from which you can install the product". This happenede with the installation of Quicktime to.
Finally i got fed up with these errors and decided to get rid of Itunes and Quicktime all togther. I went to the programs area and i tried to uninstall and to my joy got the exact same error as when i tried to update. It would not let me Reinstall Uninstall or update anything related to apple products because of the "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" error.
I finally manually went and uninstalled the folder through program files into the bin and deleted but despite that i still have the program Itunes listed in my Programs and features page and it still wont let me reinstall or remove it. All it ended up doing was causing me not to be able to use itunes on my laptop at all.
Further information im on a Dell Laptop using a 64bit system Windows 7.
Thank you for anyhelp you can offer in getting this problem fixed

Unfortunately, these sorts of msi-related troubles have gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes and QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try reinstalling iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • I have 6 apple products on the same password. How do I go about splitting them up and creating another password?

Any suggestions on how to create a second apple password and split up the apple products so not all the information is sync to all 6 products?

I assume you mean that they are all sharing the same iCloud account.  To separate them, you will have to delete the existing iCloud account, set up a new iCloud account with a different ID, then migrate the data to the new account.  Note: you can continue to share the same ID for purchasing; it does not need to be the same as the ID you use for iCloud.
Decide which device(s) will be keeping the current iCloud account.  On the others, if you they any photos in the my photo stream album that are not in the camera roll or backed up somewhere else, save these to your camera roll by opening the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tapping Edit, then tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The device[s] that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My [iDevice].  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
Finally, to if you have any data in any of the accounts that you don't want (such as someone else's contacts) you will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete it.

  • What is the best home set up for a family to share/use apple products

Hi, I am relatively new to apple (have an iPad) and having been a PC user for years I was pleasantly surprised with the apple experience and am now trying to work out the best set up for me, my husband and young son as I am buying them both of them apple products this Christmas.  New Mac laptop/ ipad for hubby and then an ipod touch for my son oh and a new mac laptop for me. We are also thinking of moving from Blackberries to iPhones. Yes we seem to be hooked! but i am unsure about the home family set up and how to replace my PC network that I run off an 8TB server.
In reading the forums I keep seeing people talk about problems they have with two apple IDs and trying to merge them. I have also heard about a family ID allowing us to share apps legally.  I am really nervous of setting us up wrong and then having problems later and hence i am now looking for some advice on how to share as much as we can legally but also make usage practical and not invading each others privacy. thoughts so far:
Music - I think we are happy to share the same music and access using one ID (we currently don't buy much music from apple but have lots of CDs we share).
Photos - It would be nice to share photos - as long as my son or husband cannot accidentally delete photos of mine (which is my biggest concern). I currently load all camera photos onto my 8TB storage box as the network owner and my husband has full access to copy any photo to his laptop but can never delete the original copies by accident.
Apps - If possible i would like us to share these but they are cheap enough these days to separate if really needed. Would be good to share licence for pages etc though
cloud, contacts, facetime, email -  this is what is making me consider separate IDs or learning how to have multiple users in one apple ID - I do not want to have to share synced contacts with my husband. I have near 300 contacts now through work etc and he will not want them plus i will not want his or him being able to delete mine by mistake. and then for email and facetime, well I want to give him his privacy so I do not receive his messages etc. especially now that we are considering switching to iPhones
Then last but not least, i don't know the best solution for my son. he is only 7 years old so even though I don't want to pay for things again I don't want him being able to download "just any" app from the purchased icon in Appstore. Also, is there a child friendly setting to prevent him from viewing inappropriate content on the internet?
Appreciate I have asked a lot of questions here but I am looking for any genuine advice out there. Thank you in advance to any potential advisers.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You don't need to use the same ID on a device for iCloud and iTunes.
iCloud covers mail, contacts, calendars, reminders, notes, bookmarks, photostream, document syncing etc and for these I recommend you each have your own ID's, this will stop others from having access to and likely more importantly being able to edit or even delete your personal information.
Someone of Age needs to be responsible for an account, so for younger children you will need to create and be responsible for an account yourself but let the child use it.
For iTunes you could use a single account so everyone can share music and apps or you could use separate accounts (there are ways to share content between users, Apple provides homesharing to do this).
When choosing how to proceed with iTunes, it might be worth remembering that someday your children will reach 21 (or whatever age they feel they have become independent) and will likely want their own account, changing accounts later may make it difficult to access previous content.
Photostream now has shared albums, so you can share just what you want with others. Shared photos using shared albums cannot be deleted by others with different accounts, but if you all shared the same account they could be.
Facetime and messages can also use an ID independently of each other, iCloud and iTunes. Separate ID's are recommended for these, joint accounts can be problematic.
iTunes has parental controls for youngsters, however at 7, I suggest you don't reveal the password to him and enter it yourself when he needs to purchase something, otherwise you may receive unexpected bills.

  • Apple Products no longer AirPrint with new routers

I have a OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910 Series printer and was using a linksys WRT160N V2 router (open without a password protection).  I also have an HP Laptop, a MacBook Pro Retina, two IPhones and an IPad.  All devices were able to print wirelessly on the Office Jet.
I sought to repace the router first with a Linksys AC1200 and then with an Apple Airport Extreme.  With both routers the HP laptop was able to print wirelessly to the printer.  However, the apple products could not.  All equipment is on the same network (password protected).  Sometimes the Apple products can see the printer and I think when first connected they will print.  But within a few minutes will no longer be able to perform an airprint.  If I delete the printer and try to add it - the printer disappears as a nearby printer and sometimes does not show up as a bonjour printer either.
While I can limp along with the older router, I worry that when it finally dies, I will no longer be able to use this printer wirelessly.  I have both new routers in their boxes ready to be returned - but perhaps there is a solution.
I have spent hours on the phone with both Apple and witih Linksys to no avail.  I do think this is an HP problem and so do they.
I have tried limiting the router to a 2.x Ghz - and note that using a 5 Ghs frequency makes the Apple products ever less happy.

    Hi @StarvationPoint,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I gather that since changing your router that you are encountering difficulties in using AirPrint from your Apple mobile devices.
I have included a post by @Shirlzz1 on the forums titled Help Determine if your router can support AirPrint with the Bonjour Discovery App. It will walk you through downloading an app that checks to see if the routers support Bonjour (I know the Apple AirPort Extreme does).
I’ve also included the Printing Over a Wireless Network with Apple's AirPrint FAQs document. It has some great trouble shooting steps in the “What if a 'No AirPrint Printers Found' message displays on my Apple device?” section.
Please let me know the outcome.

  • Family sharing if you don't want to constantly update your devices and make your apple products redundant

    Hi everyone,
My kids have taken over our older Apple devices - i.e. iPhone and iPad - and have currently got our old stuff, apps, emails etc on their devices. I want to start these devices on a fresh start - although they've got a selected few apps that they say would be a disaster to start up again if we deleted everything.
If I go for family sharing, I believe everything has to be IOS 8 or better (probably IOS 9 tomorrow and IOS 10 the day after tomorrow - argh...). But if I upgrade the older devices (if they can upgrade at all!), they will be awfully slow or not work at all...
Apple shop recently suggested me an alternative: to buy vouchers for my kids and set-up a new apple-ID for them on each device as an alternative, although I don't have control over their purchases, but once the voucher has been used, there won't be any more purchases - only free stuff downloaded. So I don't need the kind of control that family sharing has.
All I want them to have is face-time and an own apple-ID on their devices - and let i.e. my sons FIFA15 app continue as he's been building his team for months on "my" old iPad before he took it over himself.
However, now I cannot set up a new apple-ID because there's no more me.com and I can't create an apple ID for them as they are too young...argh (again!) - (did I mention that argh is my favourite apple-expression the latest few years? Bring back the old times please....!).
    What to do?
Yes, I know - go to the apple shop and give them more of my cash to get brand new devices that needs updating and replacement in a year and throw away the old devices and pollute the world further. I would get family sharing going yes, but I would also be a lot poorer and feel like a fool for buying more apple gear.
Any other alternative - using what we've already got?
Stop apple from constantly updating and requiring upgrades of products and inventing new stuff....? It drives me nuts - but probably I wouldn't get away with that suggestion either...
Sorry for my alt-modisch view on all this or if any of my sarcastic apple comments are putting any of you off. Appreciate any feedback or ideas from you guys.

    No replies to this one?
Come on guys - whoever still likes apple products - come to their defence and show that Apple isn't totally rubbish after all????
Sarcasm aside, much appreciated if you have any tips for me...

I was recently burglarized and lost a bunch of Apple products. Is there a way to get receipts for items purchased with my Apple ID?

Yes if you go to http://store.apple.com/ on the top right under the search it will say "Account" or your first name. You will click or tap that and you will click "check order status" sign in. After you do that in the middle by the order date and number it will say "print invoices" and as long as your item(s) have been ship you will be able to see and print your invoice receipts. you can view items purchased in the last 18 months.
