Trouble viewing images

for some reason i cannot view the images i have added. On each page of my site i have a photo gallery of my work. when i go to visit the site on firefox the pictures to not show up. however when i visit the site on my iphone i am able to see all the pictures. is this an issue with browser? or with the size and quantity of photos i have added? I do not see any direct trouble shooting options on the iweb software and this concerns me too.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand? What version of iWeb and Firefox are you using?

  • Trouble viewing images after scan

I scan in images from slides using the scanners program and save them as TIFF files in a document folder. They are however not a recognizable file, and seem to be only a plain tiff file unattached to a program (and unusable exept in preview) until I open them in photoshop. I cannot even import them into iphoto. It does not recognize them. I am wondering why and if there is a way around that, without having to first open them in photoshop and do some sort of editing. I get this type of problem even if I bring in other pictures, such as saving jpeg files from imovie stills.

I have been generally saving them into the Documents folder, which is my basic home folder, it is included when the Finder is opened. I have not been saving these into the iphoto library because I often do these on different days and they are put into multiple date based places and I need to refile them into a common folder. This seems time consuming and takes up more space.

  • Trouble saving images when viewing directly

I've noticed recently that, when trying to save an image I am looking at after using "View Image," what tends to happen is that the download "starts," but no progress is made and the image won't be downloaded unless I were to close Firefox and restart it, at which point the image would then download and be saved to my computer.
Canceling the download does not work-that is, it can be canceled, but Firefox will still think it is downloading, as indicated by the prompt that appears if I attempt to close Firefox in this fashion.
I thought this was limited to Tumblr, but it seems to happen on other sites such as Pixiv and typically when I choose to view the image directly and then attempt to save it-saving an image loaded onto an existing page produces no problems, it seems. This does not affect all such images, however, but I am unsure what the criteria are for reproducing this.
Another issue related to this is that sometimes, if I restart Firefox to download any images I "queue" in this manner, they end up producing 162-byte image files that Windows Image Viewer naturally can't quite read.

I do not have any plugins or anything for saving images outside of Firefox's native "Save Image As" feature.
    As for those articles:
    * Download history size doesn't seem to matter
    * The folders should be fine, no need to switch to a different folder
*Don't think I should try a reset just yet...
*Changing file type settings might work, but I think that's only for if I'm downloading an image from, say, a link versus the Save-As I tend to use.
*As mentioned above, no plugins are being used to my knowledge
*Haven't checked my anti-virus, but I doubt that's the issue
I think my problem seems to be highly unique.

  • Trouble importing images into iPhoto

I have a G5 with Mac OS X 10.4.4 and I am trying to use iPhoto 5.0.4 to create an album.
Some photos can be imported, some not. I do not understand why some can be imported and some cannot.
I seem to be able to import photos originally imported from my camera in to the computer - I think iPhoto handles this.
I have trouble with images copied from a CD-ROM to my hard disk drive (originally the files were on a PC). I'm not sure if all of the CD-ROM photos are not importable or just some.
I can view the pictures as thumbs in Finder, I can view them with Photoshop, and I can view them with Preview.
I get the following error message which is useless as there are no Help searches identifying it (the 1 after Unreadable Files: is in reference to my trying to import a single image. If import 5 images the 1 would be a 5, etc.):
    "Unreadable Files: 1
The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data). "
Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Here's how I solved my problem - I noticed that files from a camera worked, but not files I copied from a CDROM to my hard drive. That is, for some reason, importing files directly from my hard drive did not work. I tried importing the original files directly from my CDROM and it worked. Apparently there is some sort of import function which needs to occur, but does not occur when one copies them from a CDROM to a hard drive. I believe this to be a software bug with iPhoto - the application should be able to identify jpeg files regardless of the source - PhotoShop, Finder, and Preview have no issue doing so. Regardless, problem solved - thank you to those who responded to my question!

    hiya!
I realize a lot of users are getting the message "itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close" but this is only happening when I try to preview a video. itunes and quicktime seem to work fine in all other aspects.
lordy. that's a kinky time to be getting that error message.
just doublechecking something. do you have any video files in your library at the moment? if so, could you check to see if you get this when you play a video?
if you don't have any files in the library, and you've got itunes 6.0.2.23 or higher, let's try seeing if the sample file linked to in this document will convert and play properly:

  • Last night suddenly when I right-click-view-images in firefox, they appear centered and against a black background. It's usually meant to be a white background and the image appearing at top left. How to revert it?

I'm having trouble with something in firefox, it's quite minor but still bugs me. Last night suddenly when I right-click-view-images in firefox, they appear centered and against a black background. It's usually meant to be a white background and the image appearing at top left. I can't remember what I did to change this if it's my fault; if someone knows how to revert it I'd be thankful.

cor-el : thanks for the pointers! I wish the solution isn't an add-on every time ... if such long-standing behaviour is going to change, the least that could be done is put in an about:config option to get back the old behaviour.

  • Trouble viewing my Phantom 4K cine files in Premiere

I am having trouble viewing my Phantom 4K cine files in Premiere. Playback is quite good, but the picture is abnormally dark. I have seen in other forums that I am not the only one to have this issue. Is there a fix?
    Thank you.

    Hi EatsMungotictus,
We support the format, but for now you will have to apply a LUT (via Effects > Color Correction > Lumetri) to obtain correct image. We'll work on improving the picture moving forward.
    Sorry for any inconvenience.
    Thanks,

  • Trouble with image size

Hello everyone, I'm having some trouble with image sizes.
I created a 977x5000 px image at 72 PX/inch resolution with text for use on a weebly website.
When created the image looks like a small vertical bar(maybe around 50x500px) with a massive left and right photoshop background(not the image background). so if I drag the bottom slider to the left or right the image will completely disappear.  I can CTR and + to get it to the correct size so I can actually read the text. I can still go very far left and right with bottom slider. The problem comes in when I save it to a PNG or other file it still shows up as a bar.
Is there any way to fix this so it saves it as the correct viewing size? that way when I open the image it's an actual 977x5000 instead of looking like a 50x500
I'm on Windows 7, my display settings are at 100% and I'm using Photoshop  CC 2014

You do not understand what is going on at all. First an image file's PX/inch resolution setting is meaningless when it come to the Web and displays all that is meaningful is pixels.  For displays are run at one resolution usually their native manufactured Pixel resolution so your image will be displayed at 96DPI on Desktop Displays and a 300+DPI on Phones and around 250DPI on tablets.  Your image  height is also to large to fit on any display.  The Display I think that displays the most pixels is the IBM T221 22.2" LCD 16:10 aspect ratio 3840px by 2400px.  at 204DPI.  Rotating  that display to portrait it can display an image with a height of 3840px your image height is larger 5000.  Your image has an aspect ratio in the neighborhood of 1:5  an image 50x500 has an aspect ratio of 1:10 a far cry from 1:5 your image is much wider then 1:10.

  • Not able to view images in gallery, when they are ...

    Hi,
The file explorer was showing two default images folder and I was unable to delete one of them as I was unable to view images via gallery. Then i installed X-plore and deleted one of the images folder. Now, when I click images and select memory card as storage space, I cannot view them via gallery and view them only via X-plore. Please suggest how can I correct this issue.

Maybe I am stupid but if you delete the imagefolder, it will be gone. You can set your default imagefolder: goto Media-> Camera-> Settings-> Use Memory-> Card. You can also backup your card to PC, reformat the card in your phone, because it makes default maps for images, video, audio,.........and then copy your images back to the specific folder.

  • Firefox saves images to wrong location, but only when using "View Image"

For a while, I have had the problem above. I can save images just fine if I don't use the "view image" function first, with the images going to the intended folders.
Just to clarify, unlike some of similar problems I have seen described here, I am perfectly happy with Firefox remembering where I wish my pictures to go, on a site to site, or model to model (within the same site) basis.
The problem lies in that if I use the "view image" function, either in a new tab, or in the existing one, Firefox will often prompt me to save in a random folder where I have previously saved a picture. It will even suggest folders that I have not accessed for days.
    Example:
I save image A to folder A, by right clicking the image and selecting "save image as".
I then (immediately after this), right click image A again, select "view image", then right click the resulting picture, and select "save image as". Now there is a fine chance that it want me to save the image to some other (previously used) image folder, even if I have not used the folder for a while, and even though I have just saved the same image to folder A.
This problem persists with multiple image file types, on multiple sites (I just tried it with someones avatar in this forum, and it wanted me to put it with my holiday pictures from 3 weeks ago).
I appreciate any assistance you can give - jinxie
FYI; If I "one-click" a file (like an mp4) to download it, it goes to my main / default download folder as normal.

This is because Firefox will track where you have saved images or other files from the website domain. Then whenever you select to save the file to your computer, Firefox will start the Save As wizard in the latest folder that you have used last time.
    Here is an example:<br>
If you save an image from the domain <code>123.com</code> into the folder <code>123</code> it will save there. Then you save an image from the domain <code>456.com</code> to the folder <code>456</code>. Next you save a different image from the domain <code>123.com</code>. The save as wizard will assume that you want to save it with the other image from that domain and will automatically start in the <code>123</code> folder.<br>
This can make saving files faster and more organized, however not everyone wants this feature enabled.
To disable this feature you can do the following:
    #Go to <code>about:config</code> in Firefox
    #Locate the <code>browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite</code> string
    #Change the value to <code>false</code>
This should fix the issue, but please report back if it doesn't.

Can not view images of Patents (i.e., D/359,691) on USPTO.gov Patent search, it tells me I need a plugin (Quicktime) which I updated already.
In the "Quick Search" I give terms & it compiles a list. I then go through to each doc and look to view the doc and associated drawings. I'm not sure what else to say at this juncture.
    Thanks.

Wonderful, not only did I get the issue resolved, but I got some good tools in the process.

I am having trouble viewing iStore. It appears as if its a Flash issue, as several minutes after logging in to iStore I get a non-flash page of iStore in my iTunes window. I have re-installed everything and tried opening all ports in router, and used msconfig to bring up each service individually to see if there is an effect.Flash and iTunes have been re-installed  ...any ideas?

I agree. I don't rely on iCloud as a backup, that is what I have my portable hard drive for. Its 500 GB so I can hold my entire iTunes library several times over on it. I have all my movies on my hard drive, but somehow "The Mist" got deleted off of my hard drive, so I figured "Well, the option to redownload an already purchased movie is available through iCloud, I'll just do that!"
And permissions and download availability have nothing to do with it, the movie's still there, it still allows me to redownload it. The only problem is when I click download, I get that message.
And nobody else uses my computer, but I do have multiple accounts authorized on it. Even still though, I am attepmpting to download it through the account I purchased it under. :/

  • Why doesn't the "View image info" show how many frames are in animated gifs?

When I right click on an image, then click "View Image Info" it used to show how many frames were included in an animated gif. This stopped working in Firefox 4. Why is that?

I'm not too sure what I did but it works now.

Strange, after rebooting, both Ph CS5 and Bridge are working again.  Thanks for getting with me.
