Trouble when formating finished movie into quicktime!!!NEED HELP!!!

Okay this is urgent! I am done with my video project but when I click "Share" and choose "Quicktime" and then select "Full Quality" and it compresses pretty quickly my movie is only about 3 min. long. When I go to play the Quicktime video of my project about halfway through the video the video playing halts like a pause, but I still hear the audio playing. What is wrong???!!!???? I need help fast!!!

Does your iMovie play ok within iMovie? How long is your movie before you try to export it to QuickTime?
Try closing iMovie and deleting its preference file: YourUserName=>Library->Preferences->com.apple.imovieplist.
Trash this plist file. Reopen iMovie. Try to 'share' it as quicktime movie again. Depending on how long it is, this may take a while.
If this does not help, post back.

I'm using Windows 7 and I'm using Twitch to stream. I was told I can use Ustream but I'm not sure how to use that program for Donkey Kong streaming either.

Grainy Output When Outputting h.264 into QuickTime File in Premiere Elements 12

I have a video project that I need to output into a QuickTime file. I would like to use the h.254 codec in the file, because that would make it the most versatile for all of the places I will be using the video. However, when I use Share > Computer > QuickTime > Advanced... and use these settings:
Codec: H.264
Quality: 100%
Frame Size: 1080x1920
Frame Rate: 29.9 fps
Field Order: None (Progressive)
No bitrate limit
Audio Codec: AAC
Sample Rate: 48000 khz
Bit depth: 16-bit
I wind up with a terribly grainy and muted-color video. I have used these same settings in Share > Computer > AVCHD and end up with a great video. Is there anything I can do to output the nice quality into .mov?

Trouble Combining 2 QT Movies Into One

Help! I have QT Pro but this is driving me nuts! I am using select all, copy and then paste to combine 2 separate 20 second QT movies into one 40 second consolidated movie. The trouble is that when the play head reaches the beginning of the second movie, it continues to advance, but the sound and motion simply stop at the end of Move 1 and beginning of Movie 2.
I think it may have something to do with the little tabs that slide back and forth for include, exclude but I'm not sure. Also, when I select all and then try to use the "Copy" command, its grayed out. I have to click on either one of the first or second movies before "Copy" becomes available to me. Something is going on but I can't figure it out, despite several hours of "playing with it", checking the forums here and calling Tech Support at Apple.
Yikes! has anybody else run into this before?

By the way, I think I got 2 of these cotton picken files to join together seamlesy last night. I need to kind of confirm that and (if I can double check and then replicate my success) will explain how.Would be interested in seeing the result. Streamclip should provide best results for two reasons -- 1) it allows "near" (if not frame-level) setting of in/out points (unlike QT which only operates at specific GOP intervals of MPEG-1/2 content and 2) it allows you to "fix" timecode breaks that can wreak havoc in QT playback.
Normal procedure would be:
1) Load, trim file segments if needed, and re-save raw files using the "Save as..." option in case of "accidents" later (I usually name the files so they appear in the order I wish to merge them) Don't have to do this but I tend to be "accident" prone
2) Use the "Open Files..." option to navigate to your "safe" files and load them as a group to Streamclip work area
3) Use "Fix timecode breaks" option (Command-F) to remove any possible timecode breaks between/within segments
4) Use "Save As..." option again to save the "merged" data file
You mentioned an interest in old TV shows, my favorite is Bonanza.My "biggie" is the original Doctor Who series. However, am also collecting the old Supeman (George Reeves) shows, The Avengers, Space Patrol, Commando Cody, Tom Corbett, as well as, things like the old Flash Gordon serials and SciFi "B" classic movies from the 50's and 60's. Poor Results When Importing QT movie Into iMovie HD

My Panasonic FX9 digital camera has a Movie Mode that records in QT (.mov) at 640x480 at 30fps. The resulting movies look fantastic in Quicktime 7. However, when I import the same movie into iMovie HD, there are noticeable artifacts, and the picture doesn't look very good anymore. By contrast, my Sanyo VPC-C6 MPEG-4 video camera, which is also 640x480 at 30fps, doesn't look as good as the FX9 to begin with, but looks identical in both Quicktime and iMovie HD.
Any thoughts?

Never mind.....I created a new user (again), and all is well. Also, the original question has been answered: the final quality of the converted QT movie on DVD is better than the playback in iMovie, even in best quality mode. Also, in comparing the Sanyo's MPEG-4 vs the Panasonic's QT Movie Mode, it makes me wonder why no one has created a QT-based camcorder like the MPEG-4 camcorders. Yes, the files are larger, but I would trade less recording time for better quality. I understand that Sanyo will becoming out with a 1280 v 720 "HD" version of my VPC-C6 soon, so maybe the quality will get better.

Compressing HD Movie into Quicktime Movie

Im trying to compress a movie i made with imovie HD into Quicktime Movie but it always fail, iMovie HD is not responding... i was able to compress it into Mpg & AVI so I dont understand why I cant compress it into quicktime... anyone ?

Are you storing your projects on a hard drive formatted as FAT32? FAT32 has a file size limit of 4GB.

So you need to delete entries in SM13/LBWQ for application and also detup table content.
And then refill teh set up table.
If you are in production clear the entries by running collective run no of times for this application 04.

Adobe turned all of my files into pdf, need help.

I downloaded adobe 9.5 this morning and it turned all of my files and shortcuts into pdf files. I can't open anything without taking a 5 min mission through my computer. Need help please.

Almost finished with site, really need help with pop up window!!!!!

I've got one last thing to finish up on this site I've been working on. I've posted what I've worked up so far at:

I still have to finish linking the actual banner swfs on the Online Banners page, which will display animated banner ads for the portfolio. Ideally, when the user clicked the View Banner link, I wanted to have the banners display in a similar pop up window like the other examples of the work (with same title area, close button, etc., click the Detailed View button on Merchandise page for example). That was problematic due to different frame rates of the banner swfs, getting the pop up window to contain just the stage area of the swf and not the working area, getting the window to pop up in the middle and not get cut off at the right side, etc. Like I said, ideally I'd like to do this, so if anyone has a relatively quick fix, I'm all ears.
I figured my best route now is to somehow have Flash trigger an html pop up window when the link is clicked and have it display in the middle of the page at the exact dimensions of the banner. Anybody know the best way to do this? I'm at my wits end and I really have to have this finished for Monday so any help is more than appreciated, thank big time in advance!

Echo when I import movie into iDVD

The move is in Quicktime Export-Quicktime movie - Make Movie Self Contained deselected and then I import it into iDVD. The movie starts with a Voice Over and for the first ten seconds there is a decided echo - actually a parallel thread of speech, "My my name name is is..."
I can't figure out what caused this. Worse, I can't figure out a do over.
I play the Timeline and it is fine.
I continue to play the movie in iDVD and after the ten second glitch, that, too, sounds fine.
I'm desperate. Help will be appreciated.

No, the echo is there in Quicktime.
Well, I THINK I rendered everything out.... I hit Sequence -render all-needs render.
Mixed down the audio? How do I do that?

Importing .asf movies into Quicktime

I have a digital camera. It's an Aiptek DV 4500. The videos I take are in the format .asf. I am able to open my videos in my VLC movie player, but i want to open them in quicktime. How do I do this? I have Mac OS X Tiger v10.4.7. I also have Quicktime v7.1.1 player v7.1.1. Please help!

You don't list what Mac you have. I use a PPC G4 to convert ASF & WMV9 with Flip4Mac (Free) and ffmpegX (Free). First download and install the latest free version of Flip4Mac. Next download and install the latest version of ffmpegX.
1) Open the ASF/WMV with ffmpegX, select the Quick Preset 'Xvid (ffmpeg)'.
2) Note the resolution of the Source Video, Go to the Video button and set the Video Size to match the source or the closest standard size. You might also have to change the Auto size to correspond to the resolution, for some reason these settings are not usually auto set correctly for ASF/WMV files. Also make sure to set the Framerate to match the ASF/WMV.
3) Select the 'Audio' button, Uncheck the 'Encode audio' box.
4) Go to the 'Options' button, check 'Decode with QT' and uncheck 'Letterbox'.
5) Hit Encode, there are many other options but I would suggest using as few as necessary at first.
This should give you a video file without audio. Now to get the audio.
1) Go back to the Summary button, Select the Quick Preset 'Movie audio to MP3'. Note the Audio Hz of the Source Audio.
2) Go to the Audio button, Set the Sampling Hz to that of the Source file.
3) Go to the Options button and Uncheck 'Decode with QT'.
4) Hit Encode, If you immediately hear a chime, most likely the Audio track is track 0 instead of 1. Go back to the Audio button and check or uncheck the 'Invert mapping' box. Hit Encode again.
I haven't had any trouble exporting an AIFF from the ASF/WMV using just the QuickTime Player Pro. It appears that Flip4Mac doesn't mind exporting the audio track with the Free version, it's just the Video track that requires the Paid version of F4M for exporting with the QT Player Pro. If you wish, you could use QT Pro to obtain your Audio track instead of ffmpegX.
Now you just have to add the Audio track to the Video track using either QT Pro, ffmpegX, or D-Vision 3. I have successfully converted well over 50 ASF/WMV files using this method.

HI, I am having trouble when importing .wav files into logic.

Everytime I import this .wav file of a DJ set i recorded, it shows me the waveform but no sound comes out when its played. I have tried converting the bitrate to 16bit and the filetype to aiff as I saw it had helped people with similar problems but when i do this its boosts the gain massivly and the recrding becomes very distored? Really dont know what to try??
Also the reason I am trying to get the Wav in was bevause i need to normalise it as it had to be recorded very quitely to avoid distortion on the recording. I recorded it by using the imput on the back of my monitors as they are usb, and th programme i used to record it is "audio recorder tool" from the app store

I think the problem is you're recorded 32-bit wav files which Logic doesn't support.
(don't convert to aiff, unless you have the right program, that understands converting little endian 32 bit wavs to big endian aiff format, you will get distortion)
I think your best bet is to download "Audacity" the free audio editor and convert to 24-bit WAV files. Re-save the audio file under a different name after converting. In Audacity this is done using the Export function, selecting other non-compressed formats.

The reason you want 24-bit WAVs to work with is you're going to be raising the volume of the file, 24-bit files will suffer less damage when editing with plugins, normalizing...etc.

Trouble when formatting fourth generation iPod

Hi there.
I have come across some trouble after I wanted to format my 4th generation iPod. I used the function iTunes and all went smooth. Afterwards it told me to connect my iPod to the external power supply to finish the formatting. I am currently far away from the external power supply and even my firewire-cable as I am studying in Scotland, with all my cables except my usb back home in Denmark. My question is, if there is a to avoid this power supplier or do I really have to go out and question everybody with an iPod if they brought their power adapter. I don't even think the power adapter comes with any other iPod except the regular ones. I hope you can help me, as I only wanted to clean my iPod before re-filling it with music.

You can use a 6-pin FireWire port on a computer, a car adaptor, the iPod's AC adapter, an unit such as the iPod Hi-Fi, or this method to charge the iPod enough for the update to complete. If there is an Apple Store nearby, they will probably charge the iPod enough for free.
