Trouble while installing Oracle8i on P4 845WN MotherSystem

Hello Sir,
My Name is Nanda Kishore form India, I am working as Lab Administrator for a Private Firm as well as System Sales. I am Getting Problems while installing Oracle8i on P4. 845WN MotherBoards. It is not supporting Jre. Even after installing Pathces. Then by consulting intel delar he said that copy all the ORACLE 8x CD into a TEMP Directory and find this file SYMCJIT.DLL and rename thios file to SYMCJIT.OLD. Ater doing that Oracle Successfully Installed on Wn2k/Winxp/Winnt but he proble is JRE Error while Restarting the system.
I want the solution for this Question is it possible to install 9i on p4 systems?

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply. See during installtion am not getting any error. The installtion is getting stuck where the Optional service like Net8 Configuration Assistant ,_HTTP...._ comes up. Even I tried to stop the Service by clicking on Stop button, but it does not work. It showing In Progress thats all.
Oracle8i is not supported anymore but this is the csr requirement for some application which is compatiable for this version.

Troubles while installing Sun Studio12

hi everybody!
could your please help me to understand where mistake is?
tried to install Sun Studio12 and received following messages
1. while checking for prerequisite software by typing
/prepare_system -c - got message "the following steps are required: netbeans patches" (help says i should ignore this report )
2. while unpacking SunStudio12-solaris-x86-200705-ii.tar.bz2 got
message "sunwspro/prod/lib/amd64/libsunperf.so2:HELP - extract write error "
3. running /sunwspro/bin/sunstudio got message "/sunwspro/bin/sunstudio:ERROR: environment variable DISPLAY is not set" - i guess
because of not extracting?
i'm a beginner at unix so will be very pleased for any help

i may ignore it too?No, it's not that. As well as sparc version, x86 version includes both 32- and 64-bit binaries.
The name of the library looks suspicious - it should be libsunperf.so.2 (dot before "2").
As to the write error, if tar (or buzip) are telling the truth, then they are having problems writing a file, so I don't think that the archive is broken. Another guess is /tmp free space. It can be that the tool doesn't have enough room for intermediate file or smth like that. I'm really running out of ideas, sorry.
However, if you don't plan to use Sun performance library and other files have been extracted without errors, I guess you can just ignore all this.

Big trouble while installing windows 7 on Toshiba mini 305-310

After upgrading my RAM from Gig to Gig, I decided to install windows 7 on my mini 305-310(black model). First, when I installed windows 7 ultimate (64 bit), everything was fine except screen resolution(my screen resolution stuck at 800 by 600 and I couldn't find the solution). After hopeless attempts, I decided to reinstall windows 7 hoping the screen resolution problem would be solved.
When I re-install windows 7, so many problems emerged. My current problem is "hardware problems were detected" message. Right now, I run memory problem test but I don't know what I did wrong. If hardware problems were detected, that means my Gig ram would be a problem?
I just finished memory test but I can't re-install windows 7 on it. The latest error message is 0x000000F4.
Any help would be great since I spent two days without any success.
My Gig ram is a Crucial brand.

Frustrating starter

Thank you for your reply. Actually, my posting has some word problems. Actually, I upgraded 2 gig crucial RAM before I installed Windows 7. In two days, there was no problem after Windows 7 install except screen resolution problem. However, after 2 days, I got an error message("hardware problem"). so I replaced my original 1 gig ram and ever since there is no error message regarding "hardware issue".
Right now, I try to find drivers for fixing my screen resolution issue but still there is no success. It would be great if anyone shed light on me to tell what kind of driver I should download and where I can find the driver.
People asked me why I upgrade Windows 7 and they seem to think anyone who upgrades Windows 7 on a netbook is stupid. Well, I may have a stupid mistake for trying to replace XP but isn't it a natural way to have a curiosity for "new" one? My main computer is Mac desktop and I love it but for a personal research, I also need Windows.

When you said you got thru the sql*net configuration, did you test it immediately? Were you able to connect to the database after configurring your sql*net? Because if this test failed, it could only mean that the system that has the database does not have an entry in the dns table.
You could avoid this by entering the IP address of the computer that has the database when you are asked for the host name of the computer that holds the database, during your sql*net configuration. This should work. You can change this later once you have made an entry in the dns tables for the computer that has the database.
Let me know if this worked.

1)created the follwing groups

2)create oracle user:
#useradd -u 567 -d/export/home/oracle8i -g oracle -G dba,oinstall -s/bin/sh -m oracle8i
3) edit .bash_profile

your have'nt provided the CLASSPATH(install JDK first if u have'nt) variable in the .bash_profile

ORA-12560 TNS: Protocol adapter error while installing database

Hello,
I'm having troubles while installing my oracle database 10g. My server is SUN OS 5.10
When I am in the copying datafiles step, a pop up message shows up [ORA-12560 TNS: Protocol adapter error]
Could you please help me?

I am creating the database the database.
I am relatively new in Oracle but I have created a DB before and the ORACLE_SID was set after the database was created.
The steps I execute for are:
1. Install the Oracle engine (without create the DB)
2. Install the Patch
3. Create the database (dbca)
After the database is created, appears a popup (Database configuration assistance warning) where it says to set the oracle_sid among others steps.
Is it mandatory to set the ORACLE_SID before? some other configuration that I could be missing?

hi, there, i got my iphone4 updated via wifi n its downloaded, its shows when i check the software update n when i install it, it shows verifying the software n after a couple of seconds comes back with "error while installing ios6" failed so many attempts and even tried to reset the phone, but no use, then i tried latest updated itunes too, can u believe it, it took ages to download n when it was 880mb of the 899mb file, error occured , so many failed attempts, can some one tell me what to do ? are there any issues with iphone4 updates? m scared to update it now, but really wanna get it on my phone.

I have experienced a similar error with the iPhone 4S. The new version of iTunes will not let me restore the phone, it must be updated and nothing appears to be happening. Suffice it to say I am not amused. Apple needs to work this out - I had trouble updating to 8.0.2 as well.
