Trouble with 3230 phone

I purchased a new 3230 set on 26.06.07 from M/S Sonam Systems and Appliances, Bongaigaon, Assam. I am facing various problems like hanging, automatically getting switch off etc with the set from within 2 / 3 days of purchase. At the time of trying to contact someone the set got hanged for a few seconds and then got started automatically. Then once once the charge was suddenly shown as low though it was almost full. Then the other day I found the set automatically got switched off and could not be switched on despite several try. Finally I deposited the set in Nokia care and the set was swapped on 08.09.07 with a fresh set having after lots of persuation with Nokia care unit of Bongaigaon and Guwahati. However, I am facing again similar problems of hanging as well as malfunctioning of joy stick button with this set also. From day one I am facing so much of problems with this set that I got fed up with the set. Further I learnt that the set has inherent problems too. I therefore requested Service Manager, Nokia at Guwahati to replace this set with a different good model, the differential money I am ready to pay. My most of the office time is getting wasted for this problem, which I can not afford to do. However, the service manager has expressed that this can not be done. I do not agree with his view cause Nokia being the market leader definitely can offer me a permanent solution by changing my model.

I’m sorry to hear you went through such an ordeal to purchase and activate this Filip wearable device.
The device is usually available for online only order and the reason many retail store employees might not have much knowledge about it is because stores don’t tend to have it in stock.
We do have a technical support department that is well equipped and able to help with activation or any other assistance you might need.

    I realize this. When calling prepaid cus service it only gives you the option to input your #. If you dont the system hangs up on you. When I input my number the system doesnt recognize it and hangs up on me.

    The phone has 16GB. But that does not mean you have total of 16GB of usable space. For example I have a 1TB hard drive but only has 930GB of usable space. You will never have the exact number because that would mean manufactures have to make it bigger than advertised. If they want the phone to display internally 16GB then they would have to make chips that hold 19GB.
    You will see this with all phones, memory cards and hard drives. If you ever buy an 32GB iPhone it will display that it has internally 28-29GB available. With 64GB iPhone it will display internally 58-59GB available. The more memory you have the more it seems like its missing but its not really missing its just the way manufacturers measure Megabytes.
    Do you have App refresh on? I have seen that feature drain battery on iphones very quickly. Try turning that off. Charging always makes phones get warm. Take phone out of the case its in.

    I am wondering if anyone can help...I am having problems with answering phone calls on my centro. It will ring and when I pick it up i cant hear anything. Also when I try to call someone or even call my voicemail I hear nothing either.. Any suggestions? I have tried the soft reset and hard reset and they didnt work. please help..

    Have you used any plug-in type headsets on your Centro?
    Do you hear any sound out of the speaker when you play an MP3 file?
    There is a microswitch in the headset jack that can get stuck and make the Centro "think" it has a headset plugged in and this can cause the problems you are describing. You can try the following procedure to see if the headset jack is causing the problem.

  • Trouble with Filip phone

    My mother recently suffered a stroke.  She is having trouble contacting us from her rehab center because she cannot push multiple buttons on a phone.  So, we decided to get her the Filip watch phone to make it simple for her to make and receive calls.  The first store we went to (in Leesburg, FL) seemed to have no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned this device.  The lady working was searching the internet and reading about it in front of me.  She assured me it was not an AT&T device.  Then, she went to ask another gentleman working about it and much to her surprise it was THERE ON the sales floor.  Needless to say, she doesn't know anything about it.  No stores nearby had it- only one in Mount Dora- a good drive away.  But, we made that drive, knowing they had what we needed.  Once again, we were met by people with NO experience with the device.  Osvaldo researched and navigated how to use it with one they did have in stock.  Finally, we decided we wanted it and went to purchase the item only to find out he wouldn't let me activate it even as an authorized user on the account.  He said, "People will get fired for this kind of stuff."  My husband's name is on the account and I am an authorized user yet I cannot add the phone to the account even though online it clearly states that authorized users can "make changes to the plan."  He argued this was not a change to the plan.  Not sure why.  No AT&T store near us has it, so we went ahead and purchased it there anyway knowing that we would have to wait again for the THIRD TIME TODAY and navigate through talking with yet another AT&T rep who has no idea what the Filip device is.  I arrived home this evening and my husband (the name on the account) tried to activate the phone.  He was told two extremely frustrating things by Maria B.: 1)He couldn't activate the phone... we would have to drive back over an hour to the store where we bought it to do so.  2)We would have to pay a data plan in addition to the $9.99 a month charge for the Filip.  We asked in store today and through the ATT chat (Alyssa H.) and both assured us it will only be an additional $9.99 per month and we would NOT have to purchase an additional data plan.  So, my mother will go another day struggling to contact us while we make a FOURTH attempt to activate the phone. We will not make the trek back out to the Mt. Dora store over an hour away, instead will visit the Clermont store where we live.  I am very hopeful that the store will be able to help us but I have to say I'm concerned they will not based on my previous three interactions today.  Additionally, if they attempt to refund and resell it to us and try to charge the $35 "restock fee" I think we might lose it.  They don't have the watch at their store to begin with and there is no reason we should need to return and repurchase the item. This day was a nightmare- wanted to let you know so that maybe some of these kinks could be resolved before other customers face similar issues.

  • Anyone having trouble with this phone and their in car bluetooth?  Calls dropping not recognizing the device.  Had the car bluetooth reset at dealer. They said it is a common problem with the iPhone?

    Bluetooth in car is not recognizing my device and when it does it will only stay connected about 5 minutes.   Blue tooth has been reset at the dealer. They said it is very common with the iPhone? The car is a 2014 Toyota Highlander.  This is very very frustrating as I have a 45 minute commute to work and do not want to have to hold my phone.... Thank you for any help.

    I wonder if your husbands car was updated to the same connect system if his would not connect?
    Does your husbands phone work because he does not have the new iOS from Apple?

    Yes, it must be properly flashed by flashing machine at Nokia Care Center in your area. It will be under warranty anyway.Message Edited by delixis on 20-Nov-200703:39 AM

  • Trouble with one phone and its ADSL splitter

    I have three phones and ADSL splitters and a BB hub on my system and today after an incoming phone call with some interference on the line, I lost my dialling tone after putting down the receiver and picking it up again.
    To cut a long story short, I went around the three phones and realised that one ADSL filter was giving this fault whenever I used that one, with any of my phones and so, temporarily, I have removed what I think is the offending ADSL filter and one phone and am going to get another new filter to see whether my theory of a duff filter is correct.
    Is it common for relatively new filters to fail or give problems like this? Of course I shan't know until the new splitter arrives from Amazon next week. Until then, I have now just two phones and their respective ADSL splititers connected with the BB hub on one of them.

    filters can fail anytime just hope you have solved the problem.  if it was possible you could have fitted a filtered faceplate and done away with all filters.  only restriction is router must be connected to master socket

    No. Apple does not do trade-ins of any kind. Sell your 4S & use the money towards an iPhone 5.

  • Trouble with BT phone!

    I have just tried my 3rd phone ( just been out to buy an old fashioned one by BT!!) and still no luck. When I dial my number from my mobile it seems to be ringing and goes to ansaffone 1571 but it doesnt really ring in the house. I still have access to my BT broadband so this comes through the same line??? i cant do anymore so now do I pay the £127.95 for the engineer to come out and how quick can i expect a visit???

    You only have to pay if the problem is your wiring.  If it's BT's, then they should not charge you.
    Have you tried plugging the phone into the test socket?  Details are in the BT Phone Book.  If not, do so before phoning BT (they will ask you to do it anyway).
    It should only take 2 to 3 days for BT to send an engineer, assuming the engineer actually turns up on the appointed day.  Unfortunately, BT Openreach seem to have a bad habit of missing appointments without telling you.
