How can i fix an ipod touch when i have no access to the restoration software?\

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    You can sync/manually mange iphone with one and only one computer.  If you sync/manually mange to anther, then it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.

    Ahhh, the new Error 69. Many people but not all have the same problem. E-mail Apple about this and try to use the last version of iTunes. For the songs skipping, there is an error when syncing those songs and were not synced properly. Try reseting the ipod to factory settings

  • Trouble with my 4g ipod

    I have been having trouble lately with my 4g 40gb ipod. Whenever i plug it into my computer itunes freezes up on me until i unplug it. Since it is freezing up i cannot add songs or anything to it. I tried using it on my friend's computer and the same thing happened. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

    yeah ur ipods gona die very very soon ... same thing hapend 2 me u shud get a care plan if u dont have 1 first ur ipod looses connectivity then it starts freezing randomly when in use (rstarting it will fix this temporarly ) but until u send it in 2 get it fixed or 2 get a new 1 u wont b able 2 add songs 2 it

  • Trouble with a new iPod video (and a question)

    My new iPod video is causing my computer to freeze when I connect it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. After that, it seemed to be going OK, but it only downloaded about 500m (of a total of 50g) before iTunes froze again and stopped downloading (of course the "Do Not Disconnect" icon on the iPod stayed there, but I had no choice but to disconnect it!).
    All of my music is on an external Seagate hard drive coming in through one of my USB inputs. The iPod is on the other USB input. Could this be part of the problem? I don't think it's a drive letter issue since it did start downloading the last time before freezing.
    Also, I'm wondering if I can use my old firewire cable from my previous iPod to speed up the transfer process once I actually get the thing working.
    Any help would be much appreciated!

  • Hi, i'm having trouble with syncing my iPod. (after the latest iTunes-update)

    It's a classic, but I have no idea what generation... but it was bought in early 08, and have 80gb. Anyway, it has been working fine all the time, but by the latest iTunes-update, it has stopped working. (mac) Every time I try to connect it with my computer, iTunes says that "this iPod appears to be destroyed, try to restore" (I'm having iTunes in Norwegian, so not sure if this is the direct translation, but hopefully you'll get the picture) - and I try to do this, again and again, but nothing seems to work. I have tried to turn off the computer, put iPod in disc-mode, let the battery run out, give it a two-week break, and now I'm out of guesses on what to do. But no matter what I do it allways appear to have zero songs on it after I am done syncing, and I allways get the "try to restore"-message when i connect it again.
    It's possible that it's just old age or something, but I really want to try everything first, as it seems to be all right otherways. It also works when I connect it with my friend's  PC, but since she has ****** taste of music () it's not an option. I have a MacBook, also from 2008.
    And just to clearify. I have an iPad2, and an old iPod nano (2006) and both works with my computer/iTunes.

    My iPod Nano [1st Generation] won't update or anything with iTunes 7.0!!! It worked with iTunes 6, but I downloaded 7 and it messed up my iPod - I tried deleting iTunes 7 and redownloading 6, but when I finished doing that, and I tried to get 6 to load, a window popped up that said "'iTunes Library.itl' cannot load because it was created on an updated version of iTunes" or something along that line. So now my songs are completely gone, I have NOTHING on my iPod because I had to delete iTunes 7... WHAT DO I DO!?!?!?!?!?!

    hi.. please i really need help with this.. when i try to add songs to my video ipod it just stops (sometimes after 300 songs have been loaded other times after 500), but it justs stops and a message appears saying there has been an error when loading up songs to the ipod.. then it just blocks and when i try it there are no songs on it.. its just blank..i have tried reinstalling itunes.. restoring ipod a few times but it justs happens again and again.. so i need help what could it be? could it be something with the usb ports (Ive tried all the usb ports the pc has already), or something with the hardware of the pc, or with the hardware of the ipod.. pleasee help me!! anyone has this problem also??

    Are you on the latest software?
    iTunes - Version 6.0.4
    iPod Updater - Version 1.1.1
    If so, try restoring again. If after a few more restores, you're still experiencing an issue, try synching your iPod to a friend's/relative's computer. If that works, it's obviously your computer. If not, your iPod may need service.

    Kim, sorry, but I couldn't get what you are trying to do.
    iTunes jargon
    RESTORE - to erase all data, ie music, address, video etc in the connected iPod and populate them with factory settings.
    Why do we need to do this? When the iPod hardisk filesystem is corrupted and the iTunes cant map the iPod hardisk file structure, to add new data, music, videos etc.
    SYNC - The process, where iTunes overrides all data, music, videos in the iPod, with the iTunes Library. So if the iTunes library in your PC is blank, then iTunes will erase your iPod, till blank.
    iTunes Library - the folder in your PC/MAC that contains all your data/music/video etc. The iTunes does not treat the iPod as a store, but rather as huge landfill, so you need 3rd party software to recover any data from the iPod back to the PC/MAC.

  • Trouble with Differences between iPod 5th Gen and "Classic"

    I have the 30 GB 5th Gen iPod. The iTunes software was easy to use in creating playlists and viewing my music on my device. I recently bought an 80 GB Classic and cannot create a playlist on my device. It always creates it in my library. I also cannot get the browser view to show up when on my 80 GB device. Everything was easy with the 5th Gen but I am finding the differences in navigating the software very tough. Please help.
    P.S. The new iPod always wants to sync when I connect even though I am pretty sure I told the program not to auto sync. I cannot get past the syncing screen without clicking on the sync button.

    It sounds like you need to adjust your settings.
    1. Open iTunes on your computer.
    2. Connect your iPod to the computer.
    3. As soon as the iPod shows on the sidebar, look at the summary tab options to make sure that the Manually manage music and videos is checked if you want to manually load the iPod. A window should open to ask if you are sure you want to change the setting to manual. Answer Yes. If you want to auto sync, leave this item unchecked.
    If you have unchecked items in the main library (duplicate songs, etc) and do not want them to load into the iPod, make sure the item Sync only checked songs and videos is marked. If you change this setting, look for the Sync button at the lower right corner to change to two buttons Cancel and Apply. Click on Apply. It is always important to click apply after you finish making changes to the iPod settings.
    4. If you manually Sync, with your mouse you can drag and drop the playlists you want to load in the iPod from the sidebar. Highlight the playlist you want. Hold the left mouse button down as it is highlighted and move the mouse to cover the iPod device and release the mouse button. The playlist and songs should begin loading.
    5. Alternately, when looking at the device, switch to the music tab. Change the setting to Sync Music - Selected Playlists. Then check off the playlists you want to load. If you do this, and have the default AutoSync set on the Summary Tab, the playlists will automatically be updated when the iPod is connected. Depending on your personal preferences or space needs, uncheck Include Music Videos or Display Album Artwork on iPod.
    6. Make sure that you click APPLY to apply the settings to the iPod after making changes to the various menus. If you do not apply the settings, the iPod will retain the default settings.
    7. Note that you will have to re-enter all your settings and apply if you have Restored the iPod (delete all content and reinstall operating software). In a Restore, the iPod settings are also reset to the Apple factory defaults.

    I recently converted a few videos to my ipod where they all successfully went on. However, when I play them the audio does not appear to be there and you cannot hear anything. Eventhough the volume is at its highest and listening to music s perfect.

    iTunes and Quicktime (and Quicktime Pro, as well) don't convert multiplexed video files well for iPods; it ends up that the video files don't play sound in the file on an iPod.
    (iTunes saves the audio and video parts of the file on the same track, as opposed to a different parts of the video file; this doesn't work for iPods when they plays videos coverted in this way)
    In this case, you'll need to try using a third-party program in order to properly convert the videos for your iPod.
    Try MPEG Sreamclip for a good converting program (it's compatible for both Mac and Windows, by the way).
    Be sure to convert it to a MPEG-4 file type, of course, and the audio should work out okay.

    I currently own a 30g U2 ipod. When I plug it into my Windows 7 computer, the ipod continually says "Do not disconnect" with the red "don't disconnect" symbol flashing. iTunes doesn't recognize it and Windows says "This device can't start" In the device properties. All help apreciated

  • All sorts of trouble with syncing my iPod?

    I have an iPod Touch 5th Gen, 64 GB, iOS 8.0.2. Which was only just recently updated; along with my iTunes version 11.4.
    This is run on my Mac OS X Version 10.7.5.
    Ever since updating the software my iPod is taking up to an hour to Sync, even just a few items. After finally completing the sync, certain playlists, songs, albums etc. don't end up transferring.
    I've tried multiple times and made sure items are 'checked'. But it's getting quite frustrating waiting so long for nothing.
    Would be incredibly grateful if anyone knows a way to solve this conundrum?
