Trouble with "add note to replace text" annotation

When I use "Add note to replace text" in Reader XI, the note acts as if it is locked even though it is not. The Locked box is not checked, but yet the options are grayed out; and I cannot delete the note, though I can edit the text box. "Strikethrough" and "Insert text at cursor" work fine.
I am using the latest update of XI and have uninstalled and reinstalled it several times; I've also tried various older versions of XI. It happens with documents I've created or documents others have created; it happens on docs created from Word or those created from InDesign; it happens on docs downloaded several years ago as well as ones from the past month.
I CAN delete these add-and-replace notes if I receive a file with them already put there by someone else--I just can't delete my own that I am adding right now. When I send the pdf to other people they have the same problem--in fact, someone told me that in her case ALL of my notes appear locked, not just the Add note to replace text one--yet when I send it to her, on my side, I have not locked any of them.
Also, I do seem to be able to delete my own annotations I put on documents fairly recently--I have files from Sept 9 and Sept 17 that I can do this. But if I try to add notes to those same docs now, they act just like all the other ones--I cannot delete those particular notes and they appear locked.
Help please!!

You could write an html-text file that revers to the image file
after that you could even convert this html-file to an rtfd file (which is a package after all) using textutil

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.

Double tap the screen with THREE fingers, that should get it back to normal again.
Then go into Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom > OFF.
Not too sure about the keyboard and random button presses though. Back it up and restore from iTunes, see if that fixes it.

Grouping & Back-references with regular expressions on Replace Text window

I really appreciate the inclusion of the Regular Expressions in the search & replace feature. One thing I am missing is back-references in the replacement expression. For instance, in the unix tools vi or sed, I might do something like this:
s/$firstPart$ $secondPart$ $oldThirdPart$/\2 \1 newThirdPart/g
which would allow me to switch the places of firstPart and secondPart, and totally replace thirdPart. If grouping and back-references are already present in the Replace Text window, how does one correctly invoke them?

How to add note to underlined text for pdf within Preview

Sometimes I can right-click in underlined or highlighted text in Preview and get an option "add note" so that there's a text box without an balloon icon (like the one you get by pressing control+N). But it is so tricky that I have to try several times before the option appears. Is there any easy way to do it?

Go to View menu >Show annotations toolbar > click on the text box at the bottom and you should get a type cursor when you click on the area outside or within the document or photo. Then type. Does this not happen consistently?

Trouble with popup not initialized until addPopUp is called

I am having troubles with initialization. I have a class given below. I new() it at the start and use PopUpManager.addPopUp to display it.
My problem is that the line query:QueryWIthOption id="filterComp" is a class with a lot of variables. However, if I try to set any of them before I call addPopUp, it doesn't work because filterComp is null.
I therefore either need to initialize filterComp earlier, store the data until AddToPopup is called, or change the way I am implementing this. If I store the data in variables, I have to add a whole bunch either to the class below or to the calling class.
Doing this once is managable, but I have other similar examples with a similar problem. This code was flex 3 before where filterComp was always initialized.
Is there any good way to do this? I guess I am interested in both the way to do this in a minimal way, and what is the best way to code to avoid this issue (if I am adding something new in the future).

I was thinking about what I would want and came up with the following suggested enhancement for Flex 4.
Add a preinitialize="true/false" type flag for UI type Components that indicates whether to initialize everything like was done in Flex 3, or whether to hold off initialization until used like is currently done. It would default to false.
Is there a way I can ask for/suggest this enhancement for a later version of Flex 4?
This change would greatly reduce the time needed to convert from flex 3 to flex 4.

Trouble with grey boxes around certain text or words

We are having trouble with some of our
InDesign files. When the text is flowed in from Word there are grey outline boxes showing up around certain words or phrases. We have been working with the preferences and also the dictionary and nothing seems to fix our problem.
Any suggestions?

Did you open the hyperlinks panel and delete the links, or change the highlight? You have to change the highlights one at a time, I think. (I hate Word's automatic hyperling nonsense).

Has anyone else had trouble with apps not updating when you update through the app store?

I'm having trouble with GSN Games app not updating, even though the app store says that it's the most updated version. Has anyone else experienced this? My mother's app updated just fine with all the new features and games within the app, but mine didn't update the same. We both have ipad2 running on ios 7.0.06. I can't figure this out. New games were added to the app that I'd like to play, but can't because of this.
Any suggestions before I contact the app developer?

Trouble with Add-CMDeploymentType and -ScriptInstaller type

We have a Configuration Manager 2012 SP1 setup and I’m trying to populate the system with all our applications by using PowerShell only. I can create device collections, device collection query rules, applications, application deployment
types (if msi, appv 4.6 or appv 5), content distributions and deployments. But for some reason I can’t get the Add-CMDeploymentType cmdlet to work with the –ScriptInstaller parameter.
Example:

By stripping out everything not necessary I know that it is the –ScriptContent parameter that generates the error “WARNING: Select a correct parameter set.”. I have tried both VBScript and Powershell script types but no matter the value
of the ScriptContent I get this error. According to the documentation ScriptContent is of type string.
I find it a bit odd that you can just use scripts for detection methods but I don’t mind if I can get it to work. APPV and MSI works just fine but about 66% of our applications use script based installations.
As a last resort I could probably do it the same way as on configuration manager 2007 with WMI and Packages but I’d rather move everything over to the application model as we do the migration.

I sat all day with google and tried out code and at the and I was successful in putting together someting that actually worked. The sample script creates both the application and the deployment type at the same time. I would rather use a prebuilt application
and just add the deployment type but that is work for another day. Hope you find it usefull.

Issue with Mail not using rich text

I'm using the Mail app on snow leopard and I can't seem to utilize the rich text functionality within the program. It is set to "Rich Text" via Preferences -> Composing but all my emails come in as plain text ("Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii").
Can someone help me with this?

So why does it have a default option to send as rich text then? Am I missing something?
"Rich Text" doesn't really mean anything unless you select the font size, font face, color, etc. As you can see, there is no place to do that in the Composing preferences. You have to do that in the New Message pane, or there isn't anything "rich" to send. Mail's Font preferences apply to local display, not to composing.
Mail has always behaved this way and the issue has been discussed dozens of times in these forums, because many people working in the Windows world want to have all their email sent out in rich text with a certain font and size by default. Mail lacks this feature, and there is no sign it will change, so some people switch to Entourage or Thunderbird.
A possible workaround in Mail is to use an html signature and start your message in the first line of that. Or use stationery.

TS4079 Trouble with Siri and speech to text feature

iPhone 5
Siri is enabled and location svcs is on, however Siri not responding, progress status sysmbol just spins and spins. Simularly - speech to text feature in other apps not functioning properly; after voice commands are accepted, the progress status symbol just continues to spin. I've closed down all apps, powered down the phone and retried with same results. What am I missing? Please help! Thanks

Having trouble with Spry not uploading correctly

Hey guys, so I edited some of the other content on my site and it seems my spry won't upload correctly. I'm fairly new to CS5 and using spry, and I've had a look at the code with no luck. It works fine if I open the page on my PC, but when I upload to the free hosting site I'm testing on currently it messes up and doesn't display any kind of graphic, just text links.

If you open the site and go to the gallery page, the images are there with the thickbox addon which is great. However, when you open them to enlarge, the menu bar stays in front of the pictures! When i create a credit memo request in VAO1 using order type ZCR i am able to enter the text by going to GOTO-HEADER-TEXT but when i want to do the same for the debit memo request using order type ZDR i am not able to .
Please let me know how to go about this one.

select the billing document header and click change , and then in the left hand side select the text procedure assignment and in select you debit memo and enter the values 03 in header
also check in Text ID in text procedure you have your access sequence as 0001.

Trouble with photos not able to sync

I recently created a folder and loaded it with my jpeg images copied from a canon digital camera. My iPod is a fifth generation 30gig. I attempted to sync the photos but it gave me an error message; "Some of your photos were not copied to the ipod because they cannot be displayed on your ipod". Only about 5 photos of 70 made it on the iPod and one had bars through it. My laptop runs Windows Vista basic and my itunes software version is 7.4.1.2. I'm sure this is a Vista issue, any ideas or ways to get my photos on and able to display?
