Trouble with Adobe!

Does the background have to be black?   Why does the brightness range seem so diminished?  This is in comparison to my old but useful! and simple! Adobe program.  So sorry I bought an improved version.  So user- unfriendly!!!  Also, DPI presets are not what I need.  Can the 300,600, etc. be changed?

Yeah, I'm seriously thinking about purchasing IL CS6, so I'm giving the trial version a test.  It's disgusting that a $600 program has a half-fast look and feel to it....  Same was true of the PS CS6 beta, and (for what it's worth) I pointed out the same flaw on photoshop.com.  Hopefully someone from Adobe has logged in the complaint in their issue-tracking software.
The funny thing is that when you use PSE10, you run into some dialogs that look just like they did in the days of Windows 3.0.  (The Radial Blur filter being a case in point.)  Makes it kind of obvious which areas of the code haven't been looked at for decades.

    There is no application named Adobe 5, so you might have to provide the correct name for the application.  If it happens to be Creative Suite 5 (CS5) there is a good chance it is compatible with your computer but you might have to install it in a compatibility mode.  If you want to remove it you should first deactivate it. YOu might also do well to use the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool...

    As far as I know there are no free upgrades, especially if the reason would be lack of compatibility.  It might be true if you were to have purchased one version when the next version was just about to be released, but CS5 is well beyond being considered for that.  Software is not freely upgraded to match newer machines - that's part of life.
    Just in case... if the lack of compatibility is due to your machine not meeting the tech specs of CS5, then it will most likely be true that your machine does not meet the tech specs of anything newer than that.

    Hi, I am having trouble with  CS5.5 Bridge's photdownloader when I am trying to choose a folder location.
    Im using Lion / Mac
    When I try to choose say an external drive or another folder location it will freeze up and stay on "Choose" the button flashes on and off but when i try to click it it will not respond or select the desired file location
    The photodownloader does not respond to any other commands..i have to force quit it..yes i have re-booted..re-started and problem remains..
    The only way i can download photos is by choosing the first file option of the pictures file on my harddrive which is not want I wish to do..i have noticed that this started happening after the Raw update..was wondering if this is affecting Photodownloader..

    I agree with Jennie - the beauty of "get photos from camera" is that it takes 2 steps out of the workaround you mention above. Personally, I'm okay living with 6.4.1, as I have an older camera. I won't be happy if one of the push updates re-updates me to 6.5 though. I wouldn't want to redo the reinstallation of the new version. This method will not work for any of my clients or students though - they normally can't comfortably follow the technicality of downgrading, and some have newer cameras and would need the 6.5 version. (I don't believe in betas for my clients, and neither do they, for the most part)
    I guess I should thank Adobe - some of my clients have needed tech support to perform the downgrade (SO many people aren't comfortable technically), and some of my clients needed to be retaught the workaround SG mentions. Adobe's flub has actually made me a little money - which I'd rather not have to make this way.
    SG's workaround does work and makes sense - but for my clients with hundreds of images at a time, who have to rename items, add copyright info, & etc., this more than doubles their work-time for the start of their workflow. I hope Adobe gets that GM version out soon.
    BTW - this issue supports an argument I've hadfor years regarding "PUSH" updates. I always tell my clients and students not to do them until they research the update. Because of what I do, I do have to install them personally, but I'm grateful I'm comfortable fixing things myself.

    Hi. I'm having trouble with my Adobe CC teacher and student subscrition and the Adobe CC desktop application. On my Macbook, adobe CC desktop application doesn't recognize my adobe subscription, but on the Adobe web site page there is my account page and i see the FREE subscription and the Premium, correctly paid. I try to uninstall the Adobe CC desktop app and to logout of adobe cc folder, but when i reinstall the desktop app, it recognize the free subscription and not the Premium. Someone could help me, please?

  • Still having trouble with Adobe AIR - Trying to download free trial.

    I'm having an issue with Adobe AIR.  Last month I purchased Photoshop CS 5.5 with the agreement of a free upgrade to Photoshop CS 6 10 days after it comes out (should be today that I get the CD key, right?) and I'd like to get myself ready to just plug the key in and go, especially considering the trouble  I had actually downloading PS CS 5.5 (not too promising, eh?).
    I can see the yellow DOWNLOAD button and when I click it Adobe AIR comes on and asks me to read the license, etc.  I click AGREE and... it closes immediately.  Every time.
    I've tried on a few different browsers and don't have any anti-virus messing with it.

    You will still need to resolve the AIR issue to install the software as we use it's components in many of our Creative Applications.  I would recommend reviewing Troubleshoot AIR installation | Windows - http://helpx.adobe.com/air/kb/troubleshoot-air-installation-windows.html.
    You are also welcome to follow the steps listed in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369 to initiate a direct download.  Depending on the Adobe product though you are installing you will need to have Adobe AIR functioning for a successful installation.

  • Trouble with Adobe Photoshop Editor

    After installing both the Adobe Photoshop and Premiere, I am having trouble with the Photoshop Editor. The first time the program opened, no problem, after closing it, and returning later, that portion would not open. I have to shut down my computer, turn it back on to get the editor to open. If I leave and come back, same thing. The Organizer workis fine.

    I'd ask which OS is the PC running.   Sounds like the question I post where a subtask of Photoshop isn't closing properly under windows 8.
    So when you re-launch is say ' dude your running, but your not.  left in limbo.   You need to manually close photoshop.   Rebooting is the simpliest way my users like.
    I've also created an icon on their desktop that issues a 'taskkill /f /FI "IMAGENAME EQ Photoshop*"

    when I click on my Photoshop at the beginning  the welcome comes up and I do not Singh I click organize there are only two thing you can click on one organize and edit.
    That is the welcome screen. You don't want to use it because it will always try to contact photoshop.com.
    You are using windows, I'm guessing? Then you want to go into the program files. If you have a 64 bit version of windows it will be program files(x86) instead. Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer to find the organizer .exe file (it will be called application instead of .exe in windows 7 or 8). The editor will be in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10.

    HI! I registered a new Adobe Premiere Elements 12.
    No pb to install. No problem to register in my Adobe ID.
    But when I try to open Premiere Elements 12 I'm asked to sign in to my Adobe ID, I clic Sign in and I get a frame saying Please connect to Internet and retry.
    Nothing is wrong with my Internet connexion.
    I have no problem with Adobe ID (I'm an Adobe CC user for Photosop CC).
    What can I do to be able to use the software I bought???

  • Trouble with Adobe Digital Editions for Mac - please Help

    I just got a Kobo Glo and am trying to download/install the Adobe Digital Editions software on my Mac but I am running into issues: (I not very versed in computers so I hope someone can walk me through my issues slowly)
    I tried to download the Adobe Digital Editions software and got a screen saying installation was complete, I appear to have Adobe Digital Editions 2.0 and Adobe Digital Editions icons in my applications folder, when I go to open the Adobe Digital Editions 2.0 Icon I am taken to a "bookshelves" page with a "Getting Started with Adobe Digital Editions" booklet in it.
    I do not know how to open the Adobe Digital Editions actual software so I can access the "set up assistant" to authorize my computer??????????????? It does not seem to want to open on it's own and I have no idea how to find it.  I do have an Adobe ID.
    I thank you in advance for any help you are able to provide. Once again I am not very computer literate so please be very specific.

    When you have ADE (digital editions) open with  "bookshelves" page with a "Getting Started with Adobe Digital Editions" booklet in it,
    enter cmd-shift-U, or menu/Help/Authorize Computer.
    That will ask for your Adobe ID and password and authorize the computer.
    Once that has been done you shouldn't need to do it again.
    Sometimes you do need to if things go wrong, but you certainly shouldn't have to do it at all regularly.
    When that has been done, plug in the Kobo; it should show up in the left pane of ADE.
    Use "menu/Help/Authorize Device" and that will authorize your Kobo with the Adobe ID from the Mac.
    You can then copy books by drag-dropping onto the Kobo within ADE

    Hope someone can help!  I'm using an HP Pavillion, with Windows Vista.  This was my brother-in-laws computer so I'm not to familiar with all its "internal" parts or things that have been downloaded or updated.   Anyhow, I went to watch a video from the NY Post website and it would prompt me to download the Adobe FlashPlayer, which is exactly what I did, follwed all the prompts to install it and so forth, when I went back to the website to again view the video, it again is promting me to download adobe flashplayer????  Why is it doing this, do i need another program in conjunction with Adobe FlashPlayer in order for it to work, or for the websites to recognize that I do have adobe downloaded???  Can anyone help me please???

  • Masive trouble with adobe reader XI

    ok so heres the problem from first noticing to now signed up for Acrobat.com on my ipad works fine went to my computer to upload from reader XI network error won't let me sign in at all.  well that was a bit troubling i decided to fix it later worked around it went to the website and uploaded from there.  Next i downloaded a document i needed to print opene it up on the computer in acrobat XI.  go to print and i get the following two errors "the document could not be printed" followed by "there were no pages selected to print" well that was obviously odd so next i tried printing again typed in a page range to print so it was definitely selected... same errors. Huh.. so next step i open another pdf try to print Same Error. 
    next step i uninstall reader andreinstall it see if that works... same problems no acrobat.com no printing... same errors.. next i uninstalled every single adobe product on the computer and reinstalled no change. browsed these forums and the apparently 2 documents on printing that dont even cover these messages... find the special removal tool download it use it restart try again.  Same problems no change complete waste of my time decided to use the older version of the tool just in case its something old on my system holding it down used the tool restart reinstall.. same problem.  i have no ideas left trying to find support answers on here is a joke, took me 20 minutes to fuigure out how to make a topic, a fix or a better product at this point i dont care i just want to be able to print this damned form from my computer.

    I'd have contacted support first.. if they had a way to be contacted without having a full version of acrobat they apparently reglate anything to do with their free reader program here to be solved or not hence a lot of my frustration i know its a serious issue but i cannot find a way to talk to them.  the link was interesting but not helpful its not telling me i dont have a printer but saying that i did not select anything in the program to print which i have.. i spent over an hour searching for a way to contact support before i gave up and posted here.. which was a chore in and of itself.
    I think the issue is one of communication i think the reader program is cut off from talking to the rest of the computer somehow.. it would explain both the "network error" for connecting to adobe.com and the print problems.. i think... though those are a bit stranger, i think what might be happening (being totally ignorant of how the program actually works) is that the program brings up whatever apparatus it uses to print then cannot send the data to print to it resulting in "nothing selected"
    ok this has been up nearly a month i have no helpful replies i cannot contact support because they dont offer it for reader anymore apparently so i have to say this as support sucks.. someone anyone tell me another product i can download and adobe can go cry about it if they are going to call a forum support they should at least check on it now and then and make sure all the questions get answered my dad is apparently experiencing the same problem with his copy of reader AND his copy of photoshop elements (7 i think its too old for adobe support to talk to you about it) so basicaly what this all come sdown to is adobe has told me "we don't want you to use our products go away" i can garuntee you my dad is not going to be buying any new versions of photoshop since he cant get help with the one he has i sure as hell wont be buying anything adobe since they wont give me support with their free products... while i'm asking for a competing product to reader anyone know something i can install instead of flash i want adobe purged from my system completely

    I got this new computer and have been having real trouble getting my books from Kobo.  I have my Adobe Digital Editions account running, but when I go to Kobo and try to download my books, I keep getting a message that  "Adobe reader could not open URLLink (10).acsm because it is either not a supported file type or file has been damaged."  What the heck do I do?  Thanks in advance for any advice.

    If you have an .ascm file on your computer (and you know where it is.....),
    you can use your computer's utility program (such as Windows Explorer) to
    display its location.  Then, you can right-click on the name, and choose
    'Open With' from the drom-down menu.  When the list of available programs
    displays, pick Adobe Digital Editions.  That 'should' get ADE to open the
    file and go and get the ebook.

  • Trouble with Adobe Acrobat Pro installation from Creative Cloud

    When I attempt to install Adobe Acrobat Pro from Creative Cloud, it will always fail on the first attemp. If I retry, it installs it. Then, when I open a pdf document, the application quits in seconds. I get a modal window with the license agreement. However, it is blank and the pull downs are empty. I hit a dead end.
    This is so aggravating; especially when Adobe is charging me for my membership every month.
    What gives? Can someone help with this?

    Brian which operating system are you using?  Do you receive any specific errors during the installation process?  If you are using a Windows operating system then please uninstall Acrobat using the Programs and Features control panel.  Once done then please try using the Acrobat Cleaner Tool available at http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html.
    Also you mentioned that the EULA window is blank you may also want to see Blank EULA screen appears on Acrobat XI launch - http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/blank-eula-screen-appears-acrobat.html.  Solution 2 is not likely to be relevant unless you are using an operating system not currently supported by the Creative Cloud Desktop application.

  • Footage Trouble With Adobe Premiere Elements 9

    Hey everyone, I am new to Adobe Premiere Elements 9 and I really need some help as I have a school project due tomorrow! My videos are filmed with the Nikon D3100 camera. I can play the clips individually no problem, but once I add effects, the clip becomes choppy and seems to be skipping. The audio is fine, it is just the video. When I play the whole thing from the beginning, it is choppy, but like I said; if I play one clip individually, it works. BUT, if i play a clip that has effects individually, it is choppy yet again. HELP!

  • Trouble with Adobe Camera Raw

    I have started to use ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) for making changes to my photos before opening them up properly in Photoshop, and I have 2 quick questions:
    1. The Photoshop guide I'm reading says that in the White Balance section of the 'Basic' tab (on the right of the big preview image), that I should be able to choose from pre-set white balance settings such as Cloudy, Sunny Day, Flash, Fluorescent etc.
    However the only options that are available for me are 'Auto, As Shot and Custom'. Am I doing something wrong?
    2. In the main preview box, some of my photos load up with a funny blue outline around the image. Is there a reason for this?

    1) Those options are only available when working with raw files. When working with JPEG's you get only As Shot, Auto and Custom, it's a trade-off for lower filesize.
    2) that blue color indicates that you have clipping in those areas. You can turn it on/off by clicking on the icons with a triangle in them from the top of the histogram
