Trouble with ADVC110 outputing video

I've just bought Final Cut pro X and I can't get it to play back through a Canopus ADVC110 device that I use to convert composite video/audio to firewire and back again. It will import but not export. This works well using FC Express. Does FCPX allow to export via firewire?

I don't think there is any chance that Apple will make output to tape possible but you can always make a request.
In the Final Cut Pro menu select Provide Final Cut Pro Feedback and you will be able to ask them.
The problem is that very few people now use tape cameras and as far as Apple is concerned tape is obsolete.
Everyone is expected to output to DVD and the web.
They are concentrating on the latest cameras that shoot on memory cards etc. and really couldn't care less about people with older equipment.
We are lucky that FCP X still allows video on tape to be imported!

Problem with RTPExport output video files

Hi, I have a problem with RTPExport output video files. One side streams H263/RTP(AVTransmit2.java) and other write this steam to a file by RTPExport.java. When network conditions are ideal, output video file has same fps and same number of frames like original file. Problem occures, when theres packet lost in network, then output file has different fps,and also has less frames like original video(because it didnt write missing frames to file, and thats why it get shorter). Pls how can I achieve output file that will have the same fps like original one? How to write to file an identical copy of what I can see while receiveing video with AVReceive2.java? Its there a way to modifi rtpexport or avreceiver to do this? Thanks a lot!

Okay, first off, the second file is smaller on purpose. RTP intentionally drops packets that are old/out of order in order to make sure real-time video stays as close to real time as it can. This is by design, so there's really nothing that can be done about it.

Any frames that are dropped during transmission will not be seen by the receiver, nor saved by the receiver.

That example is an example of a "custom transport layer" for RTP connections. Essentially, it's some code that's handed the RTP packets on the transmission end, and it's expected to deliver those RTP packets on the other end. And it doesn't care about how they get from A to B, only that they do.
If you were to replace the UDP socket in that example with a TCP socket, you would be guarenteed not to drop packets due to network reasons. Every RTP packet you were handed by the transmitter, you would then hand to the receiver. There is no guarentee that none of the packets would be cast away as "old" by the RTP protocol itself, but there's also no guarentee any of them would be. It's a crap-shoot at best, but it's certainly worth a try.

Trouble with nVidia output?

I am having trouble getting my desktop to show up through the nVidia GeForce FX5200. This is the card that came with the 2g g5. Slot one - VGA- has 20 inch cinema display. Slot two - ADC -, I connected the Griffin ADC to VGA adapter that came with the computer. Connect this to Samsung HDTV. All I am getting is the default Leopard aurora desktop. Is there something I have to do to send my user stuff though so I can see whats on my desktop?

Trouble with Component output

I have had my Apple TV for about a year and have been using the HDMI connection without any trouble. I am now switching to the component cable since I need the HDMI port on the TV for my Blue Ray player.
My problem is there does not appear to be a signal coming through the component cables. My TV's component input accepts 480p/720p/1080i signals and I assume the apple TV must provide a signal that would be compatible with one of those.
I plugged the component cables into the TV and Apple TV, and then unplugged the power to reset the Apple TV, hoping it would recognize the component cables, but still no luck. My TV is a Samsung rear projection LCD if that helps.
Any advice on what might be causing the problems?

When the tv detects a display connected by HDMI it only shows you the resolutions that the display supports. However when connected by component it shows all the output resolutions, you will have to select one that suits your display.
It may be that your tv is still trying to output at the resolution it was when you had the HDMI cable plugged it and you simply get a blank screen. In which case hold down the menu and '+' buttons together for 6 seconds and cycle through the resolutions using the '+' or '-' buttons ,allow a little time at each resolution for it to establish itself.

Imported concert from MainStage 2, trouble with stereo output.

Hi everyone,
I've imported a concert from mainstage 2 in the newest 3. I don't know why but I found many trouble when setting the output of the project.
I'm using a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP and when a stereo output is set, I see in mainstage the L-R indicator bars blink. Only the Left indicator works correctly, the Right continue blink and I have no output from that connector.
Has Anyone encountered the same issue? Can anyone help me, or could anyone drive me on the right-way to find an answer?

Ummm my apologies if I missed it, but Ive read through this thread and Im not sure if theres an answer to the original question. Ive got a similar situation, AVI out of PP3 with all sources stereo, the AVI sounds great in media player and is definitely stereo. Bring the AVI into Encore 2 and the resulting DVD is double mono using the left channel only heres the strange thing, I get the same results using Nero Vision Express. I am 100% sure the AVI is stereo, it includes clips from an old Beatles song where the old school stereo imaging put all of the vocals into the left channel and the instrumentals into the right, well, the instrumentals are gone on the DVD and Ive got nothing but vocals. Again, the AVI sounds fine, just for kicks I even burned the raw AVI to DVD and popped the disk into a set-top player and it played fine something is wrong with the transcoding and its a problem for both Encore and Nero. Any know whats up? Are we calling it a bug? Seems kind of serious if it is, the kind of bug that should keep a product from launching.

Trouble with a 30G video Ipod

Hey all, first time poster here.
I've been browsing the topics, trying to find a solutin to my problem, but nothing so far seems to be the exact problem I'm having, but I've seen some that are close, and tried those solutions to no avail.
Anyway, I recently purchased a 30G Ipod from a friend at work, who claims it was playing just fine until he pulled it out of the docking bay when it said "do not disconnect" and since then, every time he turned it on, it would display the ! next to the folder and turn off. He doesn't have any of the original things that came with it, like the disc, which he assures me would help to fix the ipod if he could get his hands on it, and restore the Ipod.
I brought it home, plugged it in, and was greeted with the same ! next to the folder. For the next two days, I'm 100% sure I've tried every option to restore my Ipod that I could find on the Apple website, so now I'm at the end of my rope.
My problem is that it was displaying the ! , but now I have a new problem. Today I noticed that while my computer was off, my Ipod magically healed itself! It was amazing, usually I got the dull grey "do not disconnect" message flashing over and over, but this time it was the bright white screen, with a color picture of the battery in the top right corner. I turned on my computer, and the Ipod immediately opened Itunes by itself, and started importing all my music into the Ipod. I disconnected the Ipod, and before I could even turn on any music, it froze up. I put it back on the docking bay, and now I'm stuck with "your Ipod is in Ipod recovery mode, please connect it to your computer and run Itunes". Everytime I try to run restore, it shows up with the error "Ipod could not recover because of an unknown error (error 1418)" and it does this every time. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, trying it on another computer (not a mac, don't own one or know anybody with one) I've tried everything I could find on the FAQ, including disabling things in the hidden folders and deleting things. I'm out of ideas, I don't know what to do anymore.
I should add that I really don't know much about the Ipod, like what generation it is, or anything like that. all I know is that it's 30G, and it plays video. If there is a way to find out more information about it, I'd appreciate it, and please, if you have any suggestions, I'd GREATLY appreciate your help. If you need to know the specs of my computer, I'm currently using A custom PC, with Windows XP (with all the latest updates).

Jeff has asked some good questions, and I hope you have the SP2 service pack installed, or the proper drivers for the Ipod may not be installed. I assume you have the proper USB cable, and it seems like your Ipod is not sufficiently charged (I.E. the battery symbol). I would suggest purchasing a portable AC charger for it and plugging it in overnight. Or, leave it plugged into your computer overnight with the computer on.
I think you probably don't have the proper drivers for the ipod on your computer. Did your computer mention that it found new hardware when you plugged your ipod in for the first time? Did your computer then ask you to restart it? It seems like your computer did install the drivers, and this maybe why the Ipod started working but the battery was too low. (Assuming you have SP2 installed)
1)Connect the Ipod, Run the Add Hardware, and see if it finds the Ipod. If yes(assuming you have SP2), then this may solve your problem when it installs the proper drivers.
Restart your computer and do not disconnect the Ipod.
2) Your IPOD battery needs charging. This is the reason you got the color battery symbol.
3)Make sure Itunes and the IPOD updater are installed.
Run the updater, and follow the instructions. If it asks you to plug it into an outlet to complete the update, then you need to buy the AC charger. You can get it at most of the computer superstores and Best Buy.
4)Also, make sure the "Do not disconnect" symbol is gone before you disconnect your Ipod from your computer. If it does not disconnect on its own after updating it with Itunes, then you need to manually eject it from itunes from before removing it from the computer. Otherwise you will corrupt the file system.
Charge the Ipod overnight(at least 8 hours), and then press the menu and middle button until it restarts, and start trying to get it to properly work with your computer.

Trouble with Digital output on Live Value under Windows

I have a soundblaster li've value card in my system using the digital output in win98se and all works fine. I just upgraded to WinXP. The windows drivers worked fine once i switched them to digital output. However, i lost the Creative mixer and wanted it back. I then downloaded your Unipack driver for the Li've card for winXP and lost the digital output even when i toggled to digital output control. I then downloaded the li've value from the Gateway site since they OEM'd the card in my system and the digital is working again. However, they do not provide the Creative mixer. Is there anyway I can get the Creative Mixer to work in XP wiith the li've value card? Thanks

Value and you have digital speakers you will need to use drivers provided by your system manufacturer. If you have a set of Boston Acoustic digital speakers that came with your system and they are not working with your sound card, make sure you have it connected to the digital out on the card. Also make sure that the digital out is enabled.

Hey, there. It's unlikely that your users are entering negative numbers which are the only numbers that will be less than zero. You need to initialize your minA to be some quite large number.

Trouble with field output conversion when activating the Adobe Forms

Hi everybody,
I'm facing an issue very strange.
I made an interactive form for a customer which is based on abap dictionnary and send by e-mail to user. This form works fine and is in Production system .
Now i made an evolution on this form and when i activate the forms in SAP , all the field conversion are lost so when i got the form Date fields appears with 00000000 if they are empty.
To solved this issue in Development system , i delete the form and recreate it and that's have been sold .
Now this issue appears in Quality system also after transport it...so i try to do the same way to solve it ...i create one transport order where the forms is deleted and another one to recreate it ..but the issue still alive.
I search on OSS and don't find any notes for this .
This issue also appears on aonther forms which is not interactive one ( purchase order printout ) .
I work on ECC 6.0 with AdobeLifeCycle Designer ES 2
Does anybody face this issue and solved it ?

Ok i will try to explain more clearly because i think there's a misunderstanding .
When you define an interface of Adobe forms you can choose between DDIC interface or XML interface. When you chose DDIC interface when you generate the form all necessary SAP CONVERSION EXIT are use when value are given to the XML file .
For example i got a field type datum define in my interface which is based on DDIC .
I place this field in the layout and set the edit mask in the layout with 'YYYY/MM/DD' for example.
Now i execute the forms and give value '00000000' to the field, normally what should appears in the result is : nothing because it's an initial value.
But in my case the value appears as '00000000' , the edit mask in the form is not taking into account and the conversion of value inside ABAP Stakc is not done.
When you have a look inside the function module generated by the form, you will fin a routine which name is %WORK and inside it you will see a routine which is %OUTPUT which is call for each field you want to print in the form .
If my field is correctly output on the form the data type is givent to this routine in order to make it correct and until now everuthnigs looks good for me but my issue is that the data type of field are not given to this routine so it consider each field as simple TEXT and that wrongs.

Trouble with seperate audio/video files in DVDSP -- please help!

When I import my quicktime files into DVDSP, they are automatically segmented into seperate files, and are both the same file size. So essentially my file is doubled, and this causes the total file size to be too large and will not burn. Has anyone else had this issue, and what can I do to remedy it?
for example: If I import a file that is 1.5gb into DVDSP, then in my asset window I have a video asset with a file size of 1.5gb and an audio track with a file size of 1.5gb. It is double the size of the orginal. There has to be a setting or something that I'm unaware of that will fix this.

I know I need seperate video/audio files. My question is why the audio and video files are the same exact size. They are clearly not the same size in the original file. Im okay with DVDSP doing the compressing, Im not concerned with that. I need to be able to fit large amounts of video onto a DVD, but when I import files (ive tried many different file formats) they are enlarged.
Should I not be able to import a file that is 800mb and have it stay 800mb, or should I be using a different authoring software that will allow me to do that?

Trouble with photos and videos

When I import photos and videos from my camera they are sent straight to deleted and then I cannot upload them to social media - even when I move them to a newly created folder. Help?

What application are using (or what application is opening) when you attach your camera for the import? If it is Image Capture, note that there is an "Import To:" selection at the bottom of the window that you can change to direct the photos to wherever you want. If you aren't using Image Capture, reply with what you are using.

Trouble with certain YouTube videos

Unfortunately it's not on all YouTube vids, but many of them. When I play it, in just a few seconds the picture stops streaming, but the audio keeps going. Then I discovered that if I move my mouse pointer over the picture, it suddenly catches up with the audio. But, I have to keep moving my mouse for it to keep playing normally.

I updated Flash, and all other Apple updates for Lion. Nothing has helped.

Trouble with Adobe viewing videos on FB?

For some reason, every time I attempt to view a video on Face Book lately, it will not show and says I need to install a different version of adobe. Anyone else having this problem? How have you been able to fix it? I can go on you tube and they play fine. Just have problems in FB.

When I tap on facebook mobile, the video will open up in a new webpage. I have to request a desktop site to see the video in the same page, but this is not the issue.
I understand that there are some issue with this as well. What kind of video is being posted as well as what device are you visiting the mobile facebook from, the hardware is also known to cause issues if it is arm7.

Trouble with audio on video convesion

I have an ipod nano and am having trouble converting a limewire download to play on my ipod.
When I convert picture is fine but has no sound.
Could someone suggest how I can correct this problem?

Im having trouble with FF & Youtube; it wont play videoes

i'm having trouble with FF; Youtube videos dont play, just a black screen ? ; they play ok on Google Chrome; BBC news videos play ok with FF. I have upgraded Adobe Flash no look, reverted to previous, no luck. I'm running Windows 7, on a DELL Inspiron with terraflops of memory and no system bugs, clean as a whistle.
FF is my default browser. The mouse-over previews play? Sometime for fractions of second videos try to play, then revert to black screen.

Trouble with any streaming (hulu etc)

Hi there,
since I updated to 10.6.3 I have real trouble with any streaming videos. Eighter if it .AVI, WMV, DIVX. Even the hulu.com page informed me: "sorry, we won't work on your platform".
Since the update, I also updated "Perian" (1.2.1), "WMV free" (2.3.2.6) and the trial DIVX Player. I also use VCL and MPlayer for download. But nothing works.
Can anybody help or do I have to downgrade to 10.5 ???

HI Jan and welcome to Apple Discussions...
Since you are running Snow Leopard, try opening Safari in 32-bit mode, not 64 and see if that makes a difference. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) make sure Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.
Relaunch Safari. If you still have problems, go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem. Safari: Add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/ Move the Cache.db file to the Trash and restart your Mac.
According to this link I can't find anything that Perian supports Snow Leopard. Check all your vendor sites to make sure your 3rd party software can run on Snow Leopard.
