Trouble with animated buttons

Im new to Flash, using AS2
Im trying to create a button that plays one animation when clicked, then another when released
I made a new keyframe (5) in the button, with an animation in it
the code ive tried is
on(release){
    gotoAndPlay(5)
but rather than playing its own keyframe(5) it moves the entire scene's timeline to frame 5
im very stuck with this, thankyou in advance for any help

Thankyou it works fine

  • Having Troubles with Fireworks buttons in Dreamweaer

    Hi Everyone
I am having troubles with my buttons in Dreamweaver, I created the buttons in Fireworks, when I preview the buttons in a browser in Dreamweaver, they show a "no image" sign when you click on them. I am not sure if its a problem with my states or maybe if its a script. Please HELP!

  • Does anyone else have trouble with the button on I pad to access other apps

Does anyone else have trouble with the button on I pad to access other apps

    Hello, Kevandsheila.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are some troubleshooting steps that I could recommend when experiencing Home button issues.  The article below is labeled for the iPhone, but the steps are the same for your iPad.
The Home button is slow to respond
If the Home button is slow to respond when exiting one application, try another application.
If the issue exists only in certain applications, try removing and reinstalling those applications. Get further assistance in installing and troubleshooting applications.
If the issue continues, Try turning iPhone off and then on again. If the iPhone will not restart, try resetting it.
If the issue is still happening, try to restore the iPhone.
Seek service is the issue is still occurring.
    The Home button isn't working
    Put the iPhone to sleep.
    Wait a couple of seconds.
    Press the Home button.
    iPhone should wake up.
If iPhone does not wake up, then iPhone should be serviced.
If the issue persists after all the steps have been processed see the last section labeled issue not resolved.

  • Problems with animated buttons

    hi
    what I did:
in encore I imported a psd file with a background layer and 4 buttons
in after effects I animated the buttons so that they wiggle along
then back in encore (dynamic link) the buttons are wiggeling but they did nothing but wiggeling. the whole stuff from after effects was brought in as background
    did I something wrong ?
what could I do to animate the buttons so that they wiggle and that they are real buttons ?
    thanks for help

A "button" on a DVD-Video disc consists of two elements: One is a rectangular
    hit area. The other is
subpicture highlight which can be made up of maximum three colors and which is enclosed by the hit area. Both are static elements.
Anything else on the menu is part of the background. You can have full color, moving elements in the background which look like buttons to the user, but the actual button is always the hit area - with or without an accompanying highlight.
The background with the wiggling buttons you made in AE can work just fine, but you can't have any highlights wiggling with it.

  • Trouble with submit button working for some clients

I have an interactive order form on-line http://www.naspairshow.com/seating%20form. pdf and most people aren't having a problem with it. A few say it goes nowhere when they push the email button. I've suggested they save it as a renamed pdf and they say it won't let them do anything but print it. At this point I'm having them give me the info over the phone, but what needs to be done on their end or mine to make it work?
Operating System: Windows XP Adobe pro 7

Graffiti is pointing out one of the major problems of using e-mail submission (Adobe says little about this major drawback - same type of problems as often found with HTML forms, but for a different reason). To use e-mail with PDF forms, the client generally has to have a MAPI e-mail client that they can use. Many folks do not have such and that is the hang up. You have 3 choices in that case. 1. As Graffiti mentions you can activate Reader Rights to allow them to save the file with data and e-mail it to you (a manual process and limited to 500 in the use aspect). 2. You can set up a web script on a server that the clients submit to (the best way). 3. You can set the form to submit HTML data and submit to a cgimail or formmail script on a server (many servers have this option available). You can even go as far as saying there is a forth option to convince the customers to activate a MAPI client on their machine - probably a bad idea.

  • Trouble with Linking Buttons to Articles in Other Folios

I am very new to DPS as in I just started working with it less than a week ago. My main problem now is linking buttons from one page in a Folio to another.
My set up right now is this:
I have a folio named "Cover" that has the landscape and protrait version of the articles.
I have a button placed on the articles that I want to link from Cover to a folio named "Menu" which also has both orientations
I understand the 'navto://', but I am not clear on how you connect folios of the same project.
Reading through the Adobe tutorials definitely walks me through setting this up, but not how to make it all work together easily.
    Thank for any help.
    -Frank

    Your terminology is somewhat confusing.
My best bet is that you want to link from a certain page in one article (e.g. "Cover") to a certain page in another (e.g. "Menu").
    If that's correct, then
    navto://Menu or navto://Menu#0
will send you to first page of "Menu" article
    navto://Menu#1
will send you to the second page of "Menu" article
    navto://Menu#2
will send you to the third page of "Menu" article
    and so on...

  • Trouble with back button in Safari, always resets to top of page.

I am running Safari 6.0.5 on a Macbook Pro running OSX 10.8.5
The problem that I am having is that every time I use the back button to my previous page it always takes me to the top of my previous page. All of my other Macs running Safari always take me to the point in the page I left from. It is a real headache to always have to search for where I was on my last page. I have gone through every preference I can think of that would be relevant and updated several versions of Safari with no change. This issuse is only on my laptop
Anyone that has had this issue I would appreciate the help.

Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

  • Trouble with animation playing correctly

I am using Captivate 5 and Flash CS5 to create a video tutorial. I have created a few animations in Flash and imported them into Captivate without any problems; however, the last couple of animations that I have tried to import are not playing correctly. I did not change any of the settings from the first couple of animations. I am using .swf files when importing to Captivate and both the Flash file and the Captivate file are set for Action Script 3.
The animation I'm currently working with is a simple animation of text that I have animated to stretch up and to the left then up and to the right. When I import it to Captivate there are two copies of the text: One that remains motionless and a second that animates. The other animation had a similar issue. It was basically images flying onto the screen, but when I imported it to Captivate the images doubled up and the animation was scattered and choppy.
I would sincerely appreciate any suggestions for how to address the issue.
    ~Angela

    Hi Angela,
We'll have to take a look at the animations. Can you share the animations with us? Please upload it on a file share like  acrobat.com, and mail me the link 'shameer at adobe dot com'.

  • Help with animated buttons

I have an animated menu that when you scroll over the button
it smoothly changes color and the text shifts to the right. The
only thing is that since they aren't in button format (The buttons
are composed of graphic and movie clips) I dont know how to apply a
sound when you scroll over the button. If someonen could point me
in the right direction either the actionscript or another way to
animate buttons and apply sounds I would greatly appreciate
    it.

depending upon your needs you could create one sound object
to be shared by all your buttons or each button could create a
different sound object. in both situations, you would assign a
linkage id to a sound that's in your swf's library and use the
attachSound() and start() methods of your sound object.

  • Trouble with animated gif

I have an image and and I want to paste an animated gif on top of the image. When do an image preview or export the the file the animation works but the screen turns checkerboard and the underlying image is only visible when the gif isn't animated.  I have the canvas for the gif on transparent but it doesn't do anything. How do I fix this?

The image must be placed or shared on all the other states for it to appear during the animation.

  • Trouble with help button

I cannot access help.  I have Adobe Elements 7 and each time I try to use help I get the message "The requested help topic could not be found, Reinstall to fix the problem.  I have reinstalled and still get the same message.
    How do I resolve this?

When you press F1 function key what do you get?
The pdf file for PSE10 Editor is here to download:

  • Problem with Interactive Buttons

    Hi all,
I seem to be having trouble with Interactive Buttons.
    InDesign CS5 - Version 7.0.3
I create a document with 2 pages (Facing Pages is checked).
I add a text box to each page, Page one's text box says "1" and page two's says "2".
Page two's text box I right click and select Interactive | New Hyperlink Destination - Type: Page, Page: 2, Zoom Setting: Fixed
On Page one I add a sample button from the buttons panel.
I select the button and then display the buttons panel.
I remove the default "Go To URL" action and add an action of "Go To Destination" using the Event of "On Release"
When I preview the page from the "Preview" panel, I click "Play" and can see the first page and the button (great), but when I click the button, nothing happens.
The mouse changes as I mouse over the button, the state of the button changes to the rollover state... all seems well but it doesn't actually perform the action of going to the next page.
I have tried exporting to PDF and making sure that "Include Bookmarks" and "References" is checked as well as making sure that "Create Tagged PDF" is checked but the exported pdf doesn't run the action either!
What am I doing wrong? It seemed so easy when I looked at some video tutorials on how to do it.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Andy

    Hi Peter,
    Thanks for the fast response.
I fixed the issue with the preview window (saw a previous post).
However the Export options I have are:
    Adobe PDF Presets...
      Define
      High Quality Print
      PDF/X-1a:2001
    PDF/X- 3:2002
    PDF/X- 4:2008
      Press Quality
      Smallest File Size
    Export...
    Export For....
      Buzzword (greyed out)
      Dreamweaver
      EPUB...
If I choose Export... I cannot see an option for exporting to PDF (Interactive) no matter which options or types of PDF I select.
However, my PDF opens in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - is that the issue? Even if I open it in Adobe Reader 9.3 it doesn't work.
