Trouble with Aspyr!  Jedi Outcast won't load!

I just got Jedi Outcast for my Mac, and nothing seemed out of place until I tried to play it. Once I started up the game, it acted as though it was trying to load the game (the toolbar read "Jedi Knight II" and my cursor began to flicker), but then I got the following message: "The application Jedi Knight II quit unexpectedly." I have been unable to find a fix on either Aspyr's support forum or Google. I think the installation may be the problem, since the disk only required that I copy a folder from it to my hard drive. This has me furious, but unsurprised, since I had nearly the same problem with another Aspyr game, Star Wars Battlefront, only a few months ago.

I tried that already, but they essentially said that there must be a problem with my computer. I'm currently going through my specifications to see how they match up with the game requirements. However, I have a fairly new MacBook and this game is two years old, so my system should be more than enough to run this game.

  • PSE 6 - fixed the organiser to work with raw now editor won't load

Could use some pointers - tech savvy but no expert :-)
Couldn't get the organiser to work with CR2 files from the canon 50D. Download camera raw 5.4 plug-in. Deleted old version to remove the two entries in plug-in issue. Organiser seems to work as expected - except for the odd hang. When I now try to load the editor I get 'file not found'. Which file ?

Ok so I worked out how to get into recovery mode. Turns out I was doing it wrong! I used an external USB drive to access recovery mode.
I ran disk utility which identified and fixed some errors on the HD. I thought this might solve the problem but when I restarted the same problem occurred. I then restored my time machine backup which thankfully worked.
I tried installing mavericks again! Upon restarting and completing the install, I got the message 'OSX has been installed. Your computer will now restart'. After the countdown had finished I got the beach ball which span eternally again, just like last time. After about 10 mins I did a hard reset and again OSX won't load.
    Lame...

  • Is anyone havong trouble with the latest i tunes down load

is anyone having trouble with the latest i tunes download

First, contact Focusrite and make them aware of your LM/Logic problems. I'm communicating with a rep who said he wasn't aware of any issues with LM and Logic.
Next, I speculate the latest driver of the Version 2 software can't live up to it's claims of variable latency. When I follow the minimum latency of 1032 for the LM manager (as posted on their support site), LM and Logic behave well. The problem for me is I never use 512 in Logic.

  • Please help me....Having trouble accessing iTunes store it won't load on my computer but will on Hubbys

I can't seem to get the iTunes store to load on my computer it lets me go through my playlists and stuff but not the store.  My hubby has no trouble loading the iTunes store on his computer though the only differences between our computers is mine is Windows 7 and his is Vista.....
Does anyone know or have any ideas on how to fix this issue I'm going crazy trying to solve it cos I just brought a new iPod and it just won't sync properly either.
Thanking you in advance for any help your able to give

I am having the same issue... The following are the most common occurances:
    1. Sometimes the progress bar will get to about 45% and then just sit there...
    2. Every once and a while the store will half load but it looks like a poorly scripted website circa 1996... all text and hyperlinks (which don't work i might add.. see number 1.)
    3. iTunes crashes all together when i clock on the store button.
    4. Nothing happens at all... as if it wouldnt have the time to be bothered to load at all.
For the exhuberant amount of money that I and so many others are throwing at Cupertino, you would think they would have a half decent support team that reponds online... instead of tossing blue shirts onto 12-16 jokers into every store they had as if to say... come on in and lets have a go at this the hard way.
    Frusterated.

  • Troubles with my iMac, it won't "start"

    Wow.
    So where do I begin..
In feb 2005 I bought a iMac G5 20". Since the day I bought it, it has run fine, like a charm.
2 months ago when I returned from a trip, it wouldn't start as it was supposed to. The troubles I got was:
(the boing sound always apears, just FYI)
First few times the screen was fubar (imagine TV-"ant war"-static, but horizonal and in color over the entire screen).
After a while that turned into just a grey screen followed by the fans going berzerk a few times.
I booted from the Install disk and used Disc Utils to see what's up and to run recovery or something like that. Disc utils didn't find the Harddisk. I got freaked and restarted it, and somehow, the computer worked again (I was like "?!")
Now yesterday, I shut the computer down again (dunno why, felt like it should have a good nights sleep or something).
When I started it this morning, I got static-image-ant-war-in-color thing again for a few restarts.
Then I got the following things totally random on boots
    - Screen turned into only grey
    - Screen grey with apple logo
    - Screen turned into a slightly lighter grey
After a few 10-100 boots and running boot with install disk (and not finding the harddisk), I get a new boot error, yes, the old os9 icon with a questionmarked folder.
This lead me to believe that it's the Harddisk that's "broken". But when I run the Hardware Test CD was delivered with the mac, it give me this right after the "Boing"-sound:
    INVALID MEMORY ACCESS AT
    %SRR0: 00000000.00032ed8
    %SRR1: 10000000.00003030
And then asks me if I want to shutdown or continue booting. Shutdown shuts it down, and the continue leaves me with a screen with the color sand/orange'ish.
I'm cluless on what to do now.. more or less.
    I've tried:
Reseting the PRAM = Did nothing for me
Ripping all the cables out for +1 minute = Nothing changed
Starting it in FW-mode hooked up to my eMac = Didn't work, eMac can't see it.
Open the iMac and remove RAM and ripout/reinsert the HDD-cables = Nothing
    Any more sugestions ?
Oh, I talked to the guys that sold it to me, and I still have warranty and this should cover it, but I REALLY need to run some backups and remove NDA-stuff.

    Status update:
I just let the computer run for a good 30 minutes.
First grey screen, then after a while the questionmark-folder, then after 20-25 minutes, the grey with logo and spinning wheel.. and after that, it loaded..
    weird eh ?
So now I'm moving everything over to FW-disks and doing a clean install and then turning the thing off hoping to be able to recreate this error tomorrow in order to be able to leave it at the repair-guys,
    Here's hoping !

As you can see above it first loads the intel module and then goes on to try and load all the faulty ones. KDE still starts without any fuzz and I think gnome does too I am however trying to test XMonad out and it only goes into a black screen with a pointer, and when I terminate and it seems that this is to blame.
And when I terminate the Xmonad session with alt+shift+q xorg has outputted the following:
xauth: creating new authority file /home/vesz/.serverauth.1522

Maybe fbcon to blame? or is that just something that is apart of fbdev. I am also using KMS with 'options i915 modeset=1' to get native resolution in console if that might have something to do with this.
Thanks, hope I didn't post too much worthless stuff
EDIT: This is the way xmonad works, I didn't load anything in config still I think all the failed module loads are rather annoying and would like to get rid of them if anyone knows how.

What is on the command line for your kernel in your grub configuration file?  (/boot/grub/menu.lst)
For Intel chips, when using mode setting and drm, Intel provides its own frame buffer that is not compatible with any other frame buffer (VGA, VESA, NG, etc...)
Do not specify any video settings on the kernel command line.  No video=... , No VGA= ..., nothing.
After the kernel loads, the Intel frame buffer should start about the same time as the first kernel modules get loaded.  There is a good article at http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Intel_Graphics
If the frame buffer doesn't start, see the bit about Early Start.
    Good Luck
    Edit:
After reading your problem more closely, I may have misunderstood.  The problem with the black screen after logout is not the fault of trying to load the other, non-existent drivers.  It is due to a bug in KDM.  The black screen does not occur with GDM.  (Personal Aside:Unfortunately I cannot abide the look of GDM)
As a work around, edit /usr/share/config/kdm/kdmrc and find the block labeled :
    [X-:*-Core]
and add a line that reads:
    TerminateServer=true
The black screen is preceded by an xorg-crash.  The terminate-server causes KDM to kill any existing server at log out and start anew (originally this was to manage memory leaks)

  • New build with MSI 970A-G45 won't load OS or live CD

    Motherboard: MSI 970A-G45 AM3+ AMD 970
CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 455 Rana 3.3 Ghz Socket AM3
    RAM: G.Skill Sniper Series 2x4GB DDR3 1866, Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR
Video Card (original): ASUS ENGTX550 TI DC/DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 550 Ti
Video Card (operational): XFX 7600 GT
System HD: Runcore 64GB Sata II SSD
Optical Drive: LITE-ON SATA DVD-RW drive
I just finished building a new upgrade build into an existing case with an existing PSU and hard drives/optical drive. Originally the system wouldn't power on at all, which I traced to the new video card (something to do with grounding or an inadequate power supply maybe?), but in any case I got past that for the moment with my old video card. The system will power on and get to the BIOS screen. I can enter the BIOS and everything looks fine: all my drives are detected, the RAM is present, the CPU looks correct. However, when I go to actually load an operating system, it never loads. After the BIOS screen I just get a blank screen with a white blinking cursor in the upper-left corner, and this never goes away (I've tried leaving it for 10 minutes or more).
Originally I was trying to boot from the mentioned SSD which has both Ubuntu 11.04 and Windows 7 64-bit partitions installed with GRUB2 to load them. This didn't load, so I tried an Ubuntu 11.04 live CD in my DVD-ROM drive. That didn't work, so I tried the same CD in an external USB CD-ROM drive in case it was a problem with the SATA controller/connectors. Still the same behavior. So I tried a memtest86+ CD in both drives. Still the same behavior. For each of the tests after the first I explicitly opened the boot menu with F11 at the BIOS screen and selected the device I wanted to try.
At this point I've already tried exchanging the memory I had originally bought with the memory I listed above, since the old memory I realized after I bought it was labelled as "Intel i5/i7 compatible" and the new memory is on the MSI support list for this motherboard model. Any thoughts on where to go next? My next thought was to RMA the motherboard but I feel like I'm flying blind here. I've never see a new build get stuck at this point in the boot process.

OK posting from Ubuntu on my now-working build!!
So, after two weeks of messing around with the CPU, RAM, video card, etc., I finally have the thought that the one thing I haven't tried yet is the old SATA expansion PCI card that I put in early on at the bottom of the motherboard underneath the video card (out of direct sight, out of mind apparently), for when I try to connect all 7 of my SATA devices. I tried pulling that out - presto, it boots. Retried a couple of times for proof, keeps booting correctly. It can even load memtest86+ off a CD. Put the PCI card back in - still boots. Reconnected the sata drive - no boot. Remembered that this particular PCI card has two SATA ports and one is for RAID of some kind, tried the other port - now it boots. The drive connected to the card is also detected by the OS.
In conclusion, it was something entirely different from what I was working on, as it usually is.
I'm going to get to work connecting everything back up, getting the new video card working, etc. I suspect I'll be back at least to read when I try to get my memory working at 1866 (different forum I know). Thanks to those who responded for the pointers.

  • Firefox suddenly doesn't load ( can still do stuff with mouse but pages won't load further) at random?

So I noticed this after the first update. I will be browsing on sites ( sometimes with more than one tab open, different sites each time) and suddenly the internet will go 'dead'. I can still do stuff with the mouse e.g; close firefox, click the tabs etc but the pages just stop loading.
This is not a problem with the modem, as other things like msn are still running fine.
This started about two weeks ago, the only way to solve it is to close firefox and open it again.
This seems to only happen on my account on the computer, the other accounts don't seem to have the problem.

The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.
Try to decrease the value of the pref <b>network.http.max-connections</b> from 255 to a setting like 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.

  • Trouble with Keynote on MacBookPro - won't open, keeps crashing

I'm on a MacBook Pro and on OS 10.9.5. I had been using Keynote awhile back when it crashed working with a Powerpoint presentation and trying to save it. Since then I've downloaded Keynote a couple of times and get a message when I try to launch that it wants to "reopen". No matter what I do it seems to quit immediately and won't even open.
    Any suggestions?

    >gives me the crash report

  • 6300 trouble with updating.. phone won't turn on n...

Hi guys, my dad got himself a 6300 a few months ago, and all was well until recently when the screen would randomly decide to go blank.. the phone would work, just the screen went blank.
Today, he bought himself a second 6300, and me being the nosy person I am, I wanted to update the firmware (with the screen blank mind you!) to try and fix this problem.
So halfway through updating, my dad's laptop freezes and the blue screen shows up. Now the phone is, put it this way, f#^$ed. It won't turn on or respond to anything I do. Would there be a way to fix this all?

Yes, it must be properly flashed by flashing machine at Nokia Care Center in your area. It will be under warranty anyway.Message Edited by delixis on 20-Nov-200703:39 AM

  • My MacBook crashed while updating the maverick system. When starting up now it has a screen with a folder with a ? And won't load up

Has anyone been able to startup properly after this? I have tried pressing "alt" when loading MacBook and clicked on the drive, it then comes up with a grey screen.

iOS does not run on MacBooks.  But now that you can't startup, you likely can't figure what is running.  This tip explains how to recover data if it is not backed up:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-1689
Hopefully your directory is the only thing damaged, or the PRAM battery/capacitor is young enough that resetting will fix it.

  • Trouble with OS6- crossing texts and not loading apps- help?!?

Updated four iPhones to 6OS last night- texts are getting crossed and apps/photos stuck- not all downloaded and say "waiting" or downloading.  Nothing's improved since last night.

I don't quite understand the discussion about wireless vs. wired connections on the server (note: I'd generally recommend running the server on a wired, not a wireless connection).
In either case it sounds like your issue is one of access from outside the network, right?
If that's the case, this just sounds like a typical port forwarding issue. Your 10.0.0.1 address is a private class address - one that uses NAT to get to the wider internet. No one outside of your network will ever, ever be able to connect to this address.
If you want external access to this server then you need to configure port forwarding on your router. Port forwarding tells the router to accept specific traffic on a public IP address and forward it to a server on your LAN. It just sounds to me that you haven't configured port forwarding. You'll need to check your router manual for specifics on how to do that.
As for the accounts, there's no such thing as accounts associated with an specific IP address, just with the server. As long as users are pointing to the right server there shouldn't be any issue.

  • Had FF, had trouble, removed it, now it won't load at all. I download it and after 5 minutes I "click here" and it send me back to the first page.

Had FireFox and, as has happened before, I started having crashes and other issues. As before, I removed it but this time when I went to install it, nothing happens. I click to DL it and after 5 minutes, nothing happens and i click the button that says "click here" if it does not start on its own. Nothing. I am not real good on these issues, so if I missed something obvious, tell me. Thanks, Jim

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • My message app got overloaded with text messages and won't load messages when I open it now. How can I restart it

I've already tried to restart the iPhone and close the app and nothing has helped.

Do a reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
