Trouble with Firefox - Embedded .flv screws up layout

The following site was created as a photoshop .html. I created a blank box in the middle of the page that I later used Dreamweaver CS4 to remove the dummy 380x286 .jpeg and insert my 380x286 .flv in the empty table. Renders great in Safari and IE, but when viewed in Firefox, extra spaces are inserted around the page, throwing off the whole layout. Does anyone have any suggestions???
This is a problem page: http://debraoppenheim.com/test/reel.html (notice the black spaces under "debra oppenheim" in the upper left)
This is a page that's fine (no embedded .flv): http://debraoppenheim.com/test/home.html
HELP!
Thanks in advance,
David

  • I was having troubles with Firefox, so I tried to re-download it and I can't find a place to download Firefox for MAC OS X 10.4.11

    There really are no no more details. The only version of Firefox that I can find that is available for downloading is not compatible with MAX OS X 10.4.11
    This means I am really in trouble. I sent the version I was using to the trash because I was having so many troubles with it not connecting to various sites.
    Where can I find a Firefox version that I can download?

    You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • Since using cloudflare for my site I'm having troubles with Firefox cache

    Hello,
    Since I'm using CloudFlare for my Site I'm having a weird trouble occurring only with Firefox (version 16.0.2 / Mac OsX.6.8), but not with Chrome or Safari.
    When I navigate from the main page of my Wordpress Site to a single post, then back to the main page, then to another single post and back again to the main page, the browser displays a binary file instead of the normal page. After emptying Firefox cache the page loads again properly.
    When I pause CloudFlare the trouble disappears.
    I just ask here because this does not happen with other browsers.
    The config of the site is : Wordpress 3.4.2 with W3 Total Cache Plugin and the browser caching enabled.
    If disabling the plugins the problem remains the same.
    Thanks in advance to anyone who could help.

    Hi,
    This is not a solution but one way you could try to troubleshoot this is through the [https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Web_Console Web Console] opened via '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Web Developer'''. You need to have it open before loading/reloading etc. Clicking on GET, POST links provides detailed info including Content-Type, encoding etc. You can also right-click and select '''Log Request and Response Bodies''' to view the transferred data. Hopefully you would be able to find the cause and resolve it.

  • Where can I find Firefox 3.6 to download since I am having trouble with Firefox 4.

    I would like to install Firefox 3.6, but I am having trouble finding a place where I can download it. I previously upgraded to Firefox 4, but am having trouble with it and would like to go back to 3.6. Where can I find a site that will let me download 3.6?

    What problems are you having with Firefox 4?
    To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
    You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
    To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
    For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

  • Download trouble with Firefox

    I implemented download in apex application with PL/SQL process (process point On Load - Before Header). Anonymous block:
    declare
    l_blob BLOB;
    l_length number;
    begin
    dbms_lob.createtemporary(l_blob, false);
    dbms_lob.writeappend(l_blob, length('test'), utl_raw.cast_to_raw('test'));
    l_length := DBMS_LOB.GETLENGTH(l_Blob);
    owa_util.mime_header( 'text/plain', FALSE );
    htp.p('Content-length: '||to_char(l_length));
    htp.p('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="test.txt";');
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    wpg_docload.download_file(l_blob);
    dbms_lob.freetemporary(l_blob);
    end;
    While this works great on IE8, IE9 and Google Chrome, there is problem with Firefox. Firefox downloads BLOB as "Firefox HTML Document" and not as TEXT. Download of static files from internet works OK. I assume Firefox has problems with MIME header produced by PL/SQL code.
    Full example is here:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=47631

  • Trouble with Firefox 3.1 Beta 1

    My tech support people have insisted on my upgrading to
    Firefox 3.1 Beta 1. I am having considerable difficulty with simple
    functions, such as <ctrl> X (to delete rows in a table) and
    <ctrl> V to drop new text copied from an existing document. I
    suspect the difficulty is with Firefox, but they deny it.
    If necessary, I will switch over to Internet Explorer for use
    with Acrobat.com, but I would like to know when to expect Adobe to
    catch up with Firefox's newest developments.
    S. Malkah Cohen

    Hi SMalkah,
    I am not sure as to why it wouldn't work with the new
    version, however we won't be able to garuntee we work with any beta
    version of software.
    Were you able to use Acrobat.com just fine with Firefox
    3.0.3?
    If so, could you go back to the non-beta version of Firefox?
    Using Internet Explorer is an option, you also have the
    option of using the AIR application for some non-browser function
    within Acrobat.com
    Visit this link for more info:
    Adobe
    AIR for Acrobat.com
    You can also look at
    The Acrobat.com Blog for
    entries from the product team that contain interesting tips, tools,
    and update information for acrobat.com.

  • Having trouble with firefox since the last upgrade

    Since the last upgrade to firefox on the 17th jan it will open up an initial tab but wont open any subsequent tabs. if I click on a link or one of my favourites it just seems to sit there going round and round and not connecting. I have never had any sort of problem with firefox before and don't want to uninstall and reinstall in case I lose all of my favourites. Can any one help?

    '''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|Firefox Safe Mode]] is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
    '''If Firefox is open,''' you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
    * Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click Help [[Image:Help-29]] and select ''Restart with Add-ons Disabled''.
    '''If Firefox is not running,''' you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
    * On Windows: Hold the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * On Mac: Hold the '''option''' key while starting Firefox.
    * On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run ''firefox -safe-mode'' <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

  • Problems with Firefox 5.0.1 website layouts in Lion

    After I downloaded Lion, I ran Firefox 5.0.1. Immediately, I noticed significant layout problems in CNN.com and MSNBC.com. And on Facebook, the friends, message, and notification icons at the upper left didn't work. Nor did entering comments to Facebook posts. Even the button that says "View X Comments" in friends' posts didn't work. For comparison, all of them work fine on Safari 5.1.
    I rebooted Firefox 5.0.1 with plugins disabled, and still encountered the same problems.

    I am also having problems with Google Mail and Yahoo mail.
    Buttons are un-selectable and operations just time out.
    Seems like a major number of issues.
    In Yahoo mail when trying to check boxes to delete email - the box will not fill with the check.
    When opening some email all that opens is totally blank.
    Other email upon opening will download the text of the email (visible) with the timer circling endlessly.
    Thanks

  • I see that, it seems, everyone is having trouble with Firefox 6.0.2 and Adobe Flash 10.3. It's nice not to be alone, but is there an answer? My problem is I am continually asked to download the flash player. So how do I solve this situation?

    Whenever I open PDF it informs me that Adobe Flash Player is not found. When I check the box to add it, I am taken to Firefox and given a choice to add it to Explorer or other systems. I have chosen both in the past and added it more than a few times. My system is XP service pack 3, already installed Flash Player 10.3.181.34 and Firefox 6.0.2. In checking your web site I see that others are having this problem too. I did not see how to solve it. Is there an answer?

    Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.
    Do you have an iPad 3 as well? And is yours not experiencing any issues close to mine?
    Thanks again!

  • Thunderbird times out when trying to access my account, but no trouble with firefox.

    connection to server j.maude@ntlworld timed out.
    firefox access sees these accounts with no problems. WHY!!

    I could wax lyrical for ages on possible whys!. Lets just say that the only similarities between the two processes is your see your mail in both.
    However Assuming you have just updated Thunderbird there is about a 99% chance the issue will be the firewall in your anti virus program or some other component of it. They react very badly to version number changes and manual intervention is often required to allow a program that has worked for years.
    The second most common cause of mail woes is the mail scanner drops the ball and mail just does not get through the anti virus. Turning off mail scanning is the easiest way to check that one.
    Coming a distant Third is your mail provider has changed the settings to connect to their mail servers ( this usually is accompanied with an error, often complaining incorrectly about the user name and password)

  • Trouble with firefox

    I have the brand new 5 days old x61 with intel pro/wl 3945abg. Right out of the box I was able to sign on to gmail/facebook fairly easy. After a couple days, my internet was having some problems so it was  really slow. However, ever since I've fixed the internet problem, I am able to use the internet on my x61 but am unable to sign on to gmail or facebook using firefox. It can't be my wireless because I am able to go on other pages.
    I've uninstalled and reinstalled firefox several times but still presented with the same problem, now, my window explorer is doing the same thing...
    I'm not quite sure how to approach this. I am able to sign on gmail/facebook using my hp desktop as well as my dell inspiron laptop via firefox with no problems.

    as i just wrote in your other thread, a clean installation is probably the next best thing to try.

  • I am having trouble with firefox and adobe reader. Also when I have tried to update firefox, it will never finish. Very frustrated

    I just can't do anything that needs adobe reader

    Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
    '''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
    #Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
    #After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
    #Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
    #*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
    #*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
    #Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
    ##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
    ##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
    Please report back to see if this helped you!

  • I have trouble with Firefox displaying menus and options correctly, and I keep it up to date. I have to switch to Safari to perform basic activities. What's up?

    I have Firefox 37.0.1 which I just updated on my MacBook Pro running Mac OX 10.7.5. Frequently, on web sites where I'm following directions to sign in or reset a password or do a financial transaction, like a purchase, there are menus missing from my screen. At first I blame the instructions for not being complete or accurate, but lately I've been trying to switch to another browser, like Safari. And when I do the missing menus appear! What's up? Have I missed a setting in Firefox that allows menus to appear?

    Hi LornaLyons, when I open Firefox's Web Console (Developer menu) and reload the page, only 4 files show a 404 status, the rest of the site seems fine. (Screen shot attached)
    I did reload bypassing cached files, which is Ctrl+Shift+r on Windows but probably is Command+Shift+r on Mac. Does that make any difference for you?
    Could you test the site in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
    ''If Firefox is not running:'' Hold down the option key when starting Firefox.
    ''If Firefox is running:'' You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    and OK the restart.
    ''Both scenarios:'' A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Refresh).
    Will the site load?
