Trouble with first sync
I have tried many times to sync my phone for the first time. I make about 50% progress in the backup and that takes about 2 1/2 hours. Then my computer starts acting up. I lose control of my mouse and I stop making progress with the sync. Does anyone have any help to offer? I want to install an update but I can't until I backup my files and that's where I am stuck. Thanks!
Hi and welcome to the forums!
Check the PC and disable any firewalls or virus protection programs, for the initial sync.
Once the internet is accessed by the desktop manager software you can run normally.

I had my iPhone stolen whilst on holidays and purchased a new one. As i had no laptop with me I had to activate it using the in-store Mac. As I was away for 3 months I thought it would be good to start writing a day by day Diary using the Notes Program on the iPhone.
Since being home I have sync'd the iPhone with my iTunes library and now I find that the 3 months of notes I had written have all gone!! Thinking they must have been sync onto or into iTunes I have drastically search but have come up empty.
Is there something I missed here or does iTunes simply sync in one direction and wipe all the notes on the iPhone? which I would find funny as OS X doesn't really support notes.
Can I get them back or are they lost forever (cry)In OS X, notes are part of the mail app, there is no stand alone notes app. Have you looked in your mail app? Also, since that first sync, have you performed another sync after that first one? The reason I ask is that iphone notes are included in your phone's backup, which is the first thing done when you perform a sync. So, if you have not synced since that first sync, you may be able to recover your notes from your phone's backup by restoring your phone from that backup. They were most likely deleted from your phone when you did sync because you probably don't have any notes in your mail app.

The connections between the FuseBox outlets and the three text fields just need to be reversed in Interface Builder. An IBOutlet instance variable is associated with an Interface Builder object by Ctrl-Dragging from the object which owns the variable to the object the variable wants to reference. For example, to connect the FuseBox ivar named answerField to the text field which is to display the answer, Ctrl-Click on the FuseBox icon in the xib window then drag to the desired text field object. The text field object may either be found as an icon in the xib (Document) window, or as the full-scale drawing of the object in the IB Editor window (where you lay out the view). When you release the mouse at the end of the drag, a black list of all the FuseBox class outlets will pop up. Select the outlet you meant to connect (in this case answerField), and the connection will be made.
The problem with giving IB instructions in the forum is that a picture is worth a thousand words, and this post is on the wrong side of that equation. So I'm hoping you'll be able to see enough of the picture from all these words. There are two other ways of making IB connections that are harder to use, but easier to explain:
1) If you Ctrl-Click (without dragging) on any icon in the xib window, a floating, black panel will pop up showing every possible connection to that object. To make the same connection discussed above from the answerField outlet to the right-hand text field, Ctrl-Click on the FuseBox icon and find answerField in Outlet list. You can now drag directly from the connector symbol to the desired text field. This time there's no popup when you release the mouse because IB already knows which outlet is to be connected. After the connection is made, you can Ctrl-Click on the text field icon and see its connection panel. You'll know the connection is going in the right direction when the connection to the text field is listed under +Referencing Outlets+ and the connection back at the FuseBox object is listed under Outlets.
The floating, black connection panels are especially useful for deleting connections. Since your project currently has three backwards connections, you can use these panels to delete those by clicking on the 'X' which is visible on each connection line.
2) There's also a tab in the Inspector window for making connections. Select one of the objects you want to connect and select Tools>Connections Inspector from the top menu if you have trouble finding the tab. You can make connections in this window if you want, but you can also use the Connections Inspector to view the connections previously made by dragging.

I think your connection between the Calculate button and the FuseBox was correct. This post has gotten so long I can't remember if I had to reverse that one too, but I don't think I did. Anyway you'll be able to check for yourself now that you know what to look for, right? The connection between an object's Sent Action and an IBAction method goes in the direction opposite to an IBOutlet connection. Thus to connect the Calculate button you need to drag from the button to the FuseBox.

Having trouble with First Class mail
I'm trying to use my email at school (Benito Juarez Community Academy) and also set up Gradespeed but having trouble with both.
In composing mail, the screen will only accept a line or so and no more. I can mail that but message is incomplete. Also, can't get into Gradespeed. I need help with media sync everytime I do it the music transfers sucessfully but it double everything, then if I delete the double it will delete the original so am left with no music. Then when I look in my files there is only one music file so I am very puzzled. Can someone help me, I have tried everything that I have thought of.

This is how you sync music to the iPad.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Music Tab on the right.
Click on all of the albums or playlists that you want to sync - or the entire library if you like.
Click on the Sync Music Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes -
I am having trouble with contacts syncing (CardDAV vs iCloud)
I found that a number of recently added contacts do not sync across iCloud (devices). I have read several forum threads and can't seem to find a solution. I digging into my group text app (Text2Group) I discovered that somehow the missing contacts are not in iCloud but CardDAV. I added them in my phone by opening contacts and tapping on the + symbol in the upper right hand corner of the screen. I did the same thing over the years and never had this problem before upgrading to iOS 8 and then 8.1.1, or at least noticing it recently..
I logged out and back in from both devices. turned off/rebooted my iPhone. The contacts I added today on my MacBookPro (13-inch, Mid 2009, 8 GB ram, OS 10.9.5) today appear on both my iPad Mini and Phone 5S....
Any thoughts other than manually adding the phone CardDAV-contacts to iCloud so the will syn. All of the contacts in CardDAV can be found in contacts, but cannot be added to groups. BafflingYou can sync/manually mange iphone with one and only one computer. If you sync/manually mange to anther, then it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
What "trouble" are you having? -
My Iphone has trouble syncing. Its a hand-me down phone from another friend. I cannot sync my Iphone to another computer and when I try to sync with wifi, it says it is not able to sync and sync would resume when my "friends-pc" is available. The device isnt shown in the itunes sidebar either
Have you restored the iPhone once in your possession? Since it was synced on your friends computer wifi syncing will also be looking for that computer.
As for the device not showing up in iTunes try the Assistant. -
HELP! Lost all notes with first Sync and need to get them back
I had some very important notes on my phone and I need to get them back. Here is some background info.
I bought a new MacBook Pro a couple months ago. I previously have a Sony Vaio. Shortly after I upgraded from 3G to 3GS. Since I couldn't get my playlists from my old laptop to my new laptop, I synced my phone with my old laptop and not my new one for fear of losing everything.
Today, I finally figured out to get my playlists on my MacBook and then I synced my iphone as usual and upgraded to 3.0.1. Of course, I also upgraded to iTunes 9 right beforehand and it had a couple new options for syncing notes and merging data. I have never synced notes before. Everything else seems fine on my phone except for this. I tried restoring to backup, however, I think that iTunes created a new backup on my Macbook since it was the first time I have synced my phone with it. I no longer have my old laptop. I did transfer all my old files to my mac.
What can I do?! How can I get them back?!If you use the Time Machine on your computer then you can try to find an older copy of the places.sqlite file.

Trouble with Gmail Syncing with Mail
Hello,
I am getting up to speed with my first Mac and loving it so far. I hope this is in the right place as I could not find a community for Mail.
I have my Mail account synced with my Gmail account and everything works fine on the Mac. However, I am noticing that during the day, when I respond to e-mails from my PC at work using Gmail, I am not seeing those responses back on my Mac when I open Mail. Come to think of it, I also have a draft email on my Mac that is not appearing in Gmail drafts folder. Can someone enlighten me?

I'm having trouble with the sync all feature and i'm not sure what to do about it
i'm using Lr 5.3 on a windows 8.1 and a really fast laptop "can render movies in after effect in minutes"
the problem i'm having is when i click the sync all button and the top loading bar moves like everybody, only the pictures viewed in my bottom slider will change even if i leave it for hours and this happen with big and small number of pictures so i tried reinstalling it and that didn't work
i do a lot of timelapses and i thought maybe if i export the video they will show with the edited settings and that didn't happen and it showed the pictures that i havent moved to view blured, like the same blue when you move fast between raw pictures
so i t tried exporting them and that worked fine but takes ages, the pictures still didn't change in the viewer but all the exported pictures did and thats not helping me in my job !
FIND ME A SOLUTION please cause i'm dealing with 500-1000 picture here and i need to move the slider every 20 sec or so every picture is changed and this takes time and effort guys !It could be overheating..........thing is ....i never realy though ibooks got that hot....the ibook does not even have a cooling fan...at least my blueberry 300mhz doesn't.
I would have to say sounds more like your hard drive may be starting to fail you. -
Having trouble with Audio Sync in FCExpress
Hello, everyone...a question for the board.
I recently acquired a new iMac with Final Cut Express...planning to try some video editing at home.
I haven't been successful with the proper configuration for captured video, however...using a Sony TRV-900 as my source, video feeding in via firewire 800 (I bought a 400/800 adapter to make it work), and ingesting using NTSC Basic...however, my audio is still not in sync with the video--the video is always ahead, and it jumps further ahead the more I ingest.
Is there some configuration I need to use so that the audio syncs correctly? Is it, as I suspect, a drop-frame issue that I haven't set up correctly?
Any help you could throw my way would be very much appreciated.I realize that most DV cameras will record in 32 and 48 sampling rates. What I'm trying to get you to do is see what you've ALREADY recorded.
Open one of the captured clips in QuickTime, then hit Command j to see the movie properties. Or in FCP, right-click on a captured clip and choose Item Properties to see what audio you are trying to capture. Once you know that, create a Sequence with those settings, then capture any remaining footage with those settings. If needed, recapture any footage that was previously captured using the wrong settings.

If you system is config well you run it without any problem but, my computer have many problem with JVM, so I have to work very hard to pass this example ;-)

Hello all,
I am currently trying to get data from my treo 680 onto my mac (in mac address book, ical, etc formats) so that I can eventually put them on an iphone. I am using a program called missingsync which supposedly does this, however i am having much difficulty finding where the backed up files are going. The program says they have been successfully backed up however I can't find them anywhere on my mac. Does anybody have any experience with Missingsync that could help me out? Have you read the User Guide bundled with the Missing Sync for Palm OS? Are you not aware that files stored on your Palm device are written in this manner:
• contacts to the Address Book
• events and tasks to iCal?
Are you talking about 'transfering' or synchronizing your data now stored in your Palm device with your Macintosh desktop or portable computer, or backing it up using the standard Palm backup conduit?
Are you aware that Mark/Space offers a specific application designed to do just what you want to do, and provide ongoing support for iPhone features not supported by iTunes? -
This is my first attempt to make a workflow which has more than a couple steps and I cant seem to get it to work. This is for a generic SharePoint 2013 list. I've taken some online tutorials and watched some videos but none of them get me close enough to
achieve what I'm going for. This is what I want the logic to be:
When a new item is added by someone (we'll call them person X) begin the workflow.
Immediately send an email to person Y with the details of the new item added
wait until the "status" field has been changed
Send an email to Z if status reads "approved" or "denied". Else (when the condition would read "Request more info") send an email back to X.
If the approved/denied route is taken the workflow can end there, otherwise I want it to wait until the status field is updated again before the email is finally sent to Z.
This is what I have in SharePoint Designer:
When a new item is added the workflow starts and sends the first email however once I've updated the status on the list the workflow status shows it's still on Stage 1 and the workflow stays stuck there. What can I do about this?Hi Nathan_R,
From the workflow steps, it is no strange that the workflow status is still on Stage 1 :).
If you create a "send an email" work flow, Then it need't to approve/reject.
For your issue, create a "Start Approval Process" workflow named "approval" with SharePoint 2010 platform. Then create your SharePoint 2013 Platform workflow, use "Start a list workflow" action to call SharePoint
2010 platform workflow "approval".
Refer to the screenshot:
Or you can create your workfolw in SharePoint 2010 platform, you should instead your first action"Send an email" with "Start Approval Process".
