Trouble with Flash Player 10 and Firefox 3.6.9
I too an having trouble getting FP to work with FF. I can use IE8 without any issue, but don't like IE.
The directory shows FP is there but every site I visit that has a "flash" video/graphic, etc still tells me I need to install the plug-in
Any ideas?
Hi, thanks for the info. You have the correct Flash files for IE. Look in manage add ons for Shockwave Flash Object and make sure it is Enabled.
Now you need to Install Flash Player into Firefox. Download the Flash Player Installer for Firefox and SAVE it to your Desktop:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
Once you have done that, then Close all browser windows, you only want to be looking at your Desktop.
RUN the Installer and when it is finished, Reboot(restart) your computer.
Now look in you plugins for that SWF and make sure it is Enabled.
You had Installed Flash Player in IE, you just had not Installed it in FF yet. Now you should be fine and those Flash files should be in your Flash folder.

Having trouble with Flash Player in regards to youtube
Hello,
Recently I started having trouble with Flash Player in regards to using it with youtube. Sometimes all I see is a blank white screen and sometimes I do see the video with no surrounding youtube webpage or suggested videos etc. Nothing has changed on my computer as far as I know except the usual updates etc. I have tried uninstalling Flash Player and reinstalling with no luck. I even tried an older version. I am running windows XP and IE and have McAfee for my anti-virus. I am not the most computer savy person in the world and could sure use some help.
Thanks,
RonHitomi,
Thanks for the links. I am pretty sure it is not a problem with Flash Player itself but something else that is causing this. I don't know how to do a "screen shot", but even if I did I don't know that it would do anygood to show that because the youtube video screen and surrounding webpage only show for a second and then it goes totally white.
Pat,
Here is what I found:

Update:
This morning after doing some further reading and research on the Internet I tried running youtube in the "InPrivate Browsing" window and youtube worked fine. So thinking I should delete my Internet Browing History, Cache, and Cookies, based on what I read I went ahead and did that but it still doesn't want to work. I think I did the deletions correctly? As I mentioned above I am not very computer savvy but can get by on the basics. Where should I go from here based on this info?
Thanks,

Hi everyone-
Since the last security update (flash player version 11.7.700.169) I have been having trouble with flash player beating the daylights out of my processor. My OS is Windows XP. This only happens on some sites, not all. For example netflix and amazon are fine, but acorn and huffington post videos send the processor into overdrive. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance :-)I have XP on some machines, and I do not experience any such problems with 11.7.700.179. If I were, I would try two things

I can't install, it gets to 30% downloading and stops. I deleted it completely from my computer to no avail, same problem happened when I tried a clean install

I was unable to view flash content on some web sites like Fox
News and Atomic Films.
I tried all the fixes in the Tech support forums nothing
worked. The adobe site said it was installed but I still could not
see content. It turned out to be a security issue. If your security
software blocks advertising then you probably won't be able to see
a flash content supported by advertising. I turned if my ad block
and now I can see the content. This may not work for all but it is
worth a try.

Trouble with Flash Player on 10.8.2 ?
I am running 10.8.2 and all of a sudden Falsh Player does not work. I ahve tried downloading the correct version for Adobe but it still won't work ?
Any ideas ?Oh, OK, you likely have a file with a .dmg extension on it? You need to double-click that - it will mount on your Desktop looking like an external drive. Then you need to double-click the Install Flash Player app.
This should actually install Flash Player and, after you restart Safari, your'll be able to watch video.
Good luck,

Hey guys,
I have just used Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove IE 9 (I think ... it's the standard built in IE taht comes with my Win7 Home Premium 64 bit OS). I had flash player installed in IE. Upon uninstalling all flash components from my computer using Revo, I did an "advanced" search to find all leftover registry entries and files/folders associated with Flash. While doing this, Revo had warned me of some files that "have recently been added" (I believe since initial installation of Flash), and gave me the option of deleting these one at a time. I cannot remember what these files included, but looking at a posting from another person, i seem to recognize some files that I *may* have deleted while removing with Revo:
Flash10d.ocx
Flash10e.ocx
FlashUtil10e.exe
GetFlash.man
install.log
swflash.inf
uninstall_activeX.exe
(again, I have no idea if ANY of the above were the actual ones I deleted, but I seem to remember seeing a couple of these at least listed to me as options to delete)
I proceeded to remove ALL files from my computer.
Then, upon installing Firefox and, subsequently installing flash on it, I noticed that some flash websites load and work properly, whereas other ones don't. I also been to the adobe confirmation page stating taht I have successfully installed and am running Adobe Flash player. Is this simply a case of missing one key component in flash?
Before the entire uninstall mission I did, I remember revo as listing more than 1 Flash programs installed. I believe I had seen two flash 11 programs installed in Revo, which I thought were just simply duplicate installations. I vaguely remember one of them being listed as Flash player 11 and the other as Flash player 11 activex? (both were removed off my system).
Are these files different and did I, in fact, need both of these installed?
Anyway, I have no idea where to go from here. Help please!
Thanks! So what Flash Player version do you have currently installed?

What exactly do you see on sites that don't work? -
Trouble with Flash Player update download and install
I have not been able to download or install the Flash Player updates for some time now. I have done all the checking and double checking and adjusting multiple times without success. What keeps blocking it is my Antivirus/Firewall (Bitdefender) and no matter what I do it still blocks it as a detected threat. I have tried turning off the firewall. After many attempts with that and failing I then in desperation turned off the antivirus part as well with no improvement. Obviously I have now turned it all back on for protection and have run scans. I am in desperate need of help in getting this resolved as I am now having increasing issues with performance of various things. I will greatly appreciate any help.

Trouble with flash player after i had virus and downloaded mcafee
I had a virus and had Mcafee come in and clean the virus out and then downloaded Mcafee and since i have not been able to use flash player i have downloaded and says it is downloaded but not working i have windows vista, can anyone help?
Hi, At that site that Pat provided the link, in Post#3 are the instructions for finding that Key. Try that again. You will just be looking for that Key and that info. Don't make any changes, just look.
Please report back what you found.
Thanks,
eidnolb
Also to help in this, go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash Open Flash and let me know all files listed there.
Using IE, go to Tools, Manage addons and under "Show"(very light text) look in All addons or Run without Permission for the "Shockwave Flash Object". Is it Installed and enabled and what version number is listed?
Thanks,

Audio problems in Flash Player and Firefox
Hi everyone!
I have a problem that has been plagueing me for nearly a year now, all audio in all videos i play in Firefox goes out of synch, the video will start ok then at around the two minute mark the audio starts to lag until it's completely left the visual playback behind, the only solution is to keep clicking the video back a few seconds to re-align the audio, this is temp as the audio will slowly drop out of synch again!
This problem has been driving me crazy!
It doesn't happen in Chrome or IE only Firefox. I have posted thread after thread on tech forums but nobody has yet been been able to help, i'm using the latest Firefox. the latest Flash Player (uninstalled and re-installed properly) all my drivers are bang up to date, all caches cleared all....in fact you name it iv'e done it!
This was never an issue until about a year ago, nothing has been installed hardware wise and the only software installed has been updates for ongoing programmes!
Help me Adobey wan kenobi, your my only hope!

Hardware acceleration on or off makes absolutely no difference, i recently tried watching videos in a 100% fresh install and new profile in firefox (no addons) and the problem still occurs albiet a little slower in the new install, ie it takes a little longer to drop out of synch.
There is a noticeable difference in framerate just before the problem occurs, like a very tiny hiccup, from that point on the audio gets left further and further behind, it's remedied by clicking back a few seconds on the video play bar but this is only temporary, lately i've even noticed it happening with live streams from the BBC, once again i must stress, this doesn't happen in Chrome or Opera or IE. -

Ongoing problem with flash player and FF..cannot install adobe Flash 11 with FF 16
I have tried everything.
I cannot install any Adobe flash product
I was using Flash 10 and suddenly it stopped working.
this happened before..several times in fact.
I delete and re install but this tim it still crashed.
so I decided to try Flash 11... windows 8 won't even let me run the installer.
when I try to install it as a FF plug in it fails.
sends me to do it manually.
manually means using the installer program which Windows 8 won,t let me run
I am stuck.
Is there an alternative to adobe flash player?
because I am tired of this.
if there is no alternative, then I will fins another browser.Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
* [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx Microsoft Safety Scanner]
* [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware]
* [http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363 TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility]
[http://windows.microsoft.com/MSE Microsoft Security Essentials] is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]] article.

Trouble with Flash Player: Application Already In Use
Hello,
I'm trying to install Flash Player on my Windows 8 64-bit system for Firefox. When I try to install Flash Player, the installer works fine up to the point of the bar tracking the installation progress. It gets about halfway across, and then I get a message that says Error: Application Already In Use with a green check next to it. Then the installer tells me that the installation has failed. Can anyone tell me how to fix this so I can use Flash? Thanks for the help.Use the Offline installer:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install_flash_player.exe <---FULL installer - works offline
or
http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_ 13_plugin.msi <-- if the above link won't install
Save it. Reboot and then run it. -
