Trouble with iCal MCX settings

I'm trying to set up the MCX settings for our users so that when they log in, their account is already imported into iCal and they can get going right away.
I can't seem to get the right settings however. Here's what I'm doing:
1. Go into Workgroup Manager, open the preference page.
2. Edit the iCal-10.6 preference, adding a new key named "imported accounts" and filling in all the relevant information.
After doing that, when I log in as a user, no calendars show up at all, even the ones that are local to the machine, and there are no accounts listed in the preferences. If I add an account manually, the calendars don't show up until I manually delete the com.apple.ical preference file from the user's library.
I thought at first that I might have the wrong Principal URI, so I checked and it seems to be fine. I then checked the Calendar URI and this is what I saw, for example, when I went to http://myserver/calendars/users/jeffmurchison:
Which doesn't seem right to me.
I'm not sure what other relevant information I can post right now, but if anyone could help me troubleshoot this, that'd be great.

Kelly,
Did you migrated your preferences from your iBook to the new MacBook Pro? If yes, then those old preferences may not be compatible. Two suggestions:
a) Create another user account and see if the print options for specific paper are available while logged in as that user. If yes, then the old preferences theory may be true. So, then log out of that account and try…
b) Log in to your original account. Go to HD/Users/your name/Library/Preferences and move all the .plist files that begin with com.apple.print.* out to the Desktop. Launch an app to see if the print options for specific papers appear. If yes, then continue to select your options and new user print preferences will be created. You can then trash the old preferences that you had moved to the Desktop.
Hope this helps.

Do you even know how to nuke and re-set Photoshop's preferences, colorplak?  Your last post seems to reveal that you don't understand what I'm talking about. Here's a link you can click on:
Preference file functions, names, locations | Photoshop CC
To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"
Note: If this process doesn't work for you while you're using a wireless (bluetooth) keyboard, attach a wired keyboard and retry.
Important: If you re-create the preferences by deleting the Adobe Photoshop CC Settings file, make sure that you only delete that file. If you delete the entire settings folder, you also delete any unsaved actions or presets.
Reinstalling Photoshop does not remove the preferences file. Before reinstalling Photoshop, re-create your preferences.
Note for Photoshop 14.1 and later: If you use Generator and reset your Preferences, Generator is disabled. Choose Preferences > Plug-ins to turn it back on.
Video: Julieanne Kost created a video that takes you through two ways of resetting your Photoshop preferences. The manual preference file removal method is between 0:00 - 5:05. The keyboard shortcut method is between 5:05 - 8:18. The video is located here.

Important: Apple made the user library folder hidden by default with the release of Mac OS X 10.7. If you require access to files in the hidden library folder to perform Adobe-related troubleshooting, see How to access hidden user library files.

  • Trouble with ICal

I am having trouble with my ICal since I migrate from mobile me to icloud. This is the wording that keeps on showing:
    The server responded:
    “HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden”
    to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.

Only the question poser can set the "solved" or "helped" flag so not sure how come yours was set!
Anyway all I'm saying is that I can set it so it's not everyone who has the issue it's more likely something restricted to your unique setup.

  • Trouble with 5310 internet settings

Hi, ive recently bought a nokia 5310 and have downloaded all the correct settings for me to send and receive multimedia messages aswell access the internet. These all work, however I am unable to access the nokia.com homepage, im unable to create an email inbox as it says "no connection settings found" ...and im unable to use yahoo go. Is anybody else having similar problems and does anybody know how to resolve the issue?
    Any help would be appreciated

    Hi,
Due to you being able to access some sites on your 5310 it shows that your phone is fully configured for the internet and you have the services activated on the network.
I have tested Yahoo Go on a 5310 and when trying to register I receive the message "Yahoo Go should be available soon" suggesting that it's not compatible for the phone at the moment. It does however allow you to enter your mobile number so that you receive a text once the service is available.
When trying to access Nokia.com on the 5310 I receive the message "The service is not available for this terminal." Is this the same error that you are receiving?
This would also suggest that the page isn't compatible with the phone, which is strange due to it being a Nokia phone trying to access the Nokia site. It would be worth while registering for Club Nokia (www.club.nokia.com) and then speaking to there customer care in relation to this issue. I have included there web address
    Hope this helps,

  • FCP6 troubles with wrong timeline settings

I have several timelines and one of them is set up all wrong. The aspect ratio is wrong. If i copy the video from the timeline (apple+c and paste) and throw them in the timeline which is set up in the right way why the video files are still in the wrong aspect ratio? There's nothing wrong with files cause if I start all over again the aspect ratio is right.
I've also tried to change manually the wrong timeline settings to the right ones but it doesn't seem to work either. Could someone know how to help me?
Videos are dvcproHD and I'm running FCP6.

Well... basically unclear about mnost of it. Try some specifics. Sequence settings for example. Keep in mind if you create universal sequence settings in preferences, they only take effect in sequences mada AFTER the change. To change an existing sequence, use the sequence pulldown at the top.

  • Having trouble with iCal

This code is kind of working in some environments.  I can open it through Safari and iCalendar.  Some other folks cannot.  The file they are receiving has.html appended to the filename.  I can create the same results using a PC if I ask Firefox to open file using outlook.  Saving the file via firefox does not add the .html.  Can anyone see any obvious problems with the code below?  Thanks

  • Firefox Freezed by Fullscreen Flash Video (and trouble with Flash Video Settings)

I have a desktop computer with integrated nvidia graphics card and a notebook with integrated ati graphics card.
Both use Linux with Firefox 3.0.8 with Flash Player 10.22
If I use fullscreen in laptop(ati) no problem at all. In the desktop station(nvidia) if it is an embed video firefox freezes completely and I have to kill firefox. If I go to the original website of the video, no problem at all.
Wanted to try to deactivate hardware acceleration as stated in some forums, but no luck. Both computers when I right click a select settings, window opens but I can't do nothing at all, not even close them. I can only close (normaly) firefox to reopen it.

As it turns out, Skype also crashes if I try to use video - so I'm forced to confront the possibility that the problem is actually with my PC, or the updates windows has just installed.

  • Trouble with my printer settings

My printer worked okay with my previous ibook. But now that I switched to the MacBook Pro I can't get the settings to show up for my printer when I am going to print. I have a Epson Stylus Photo r2400. I selected the correct driver but it won't show the options for the specific paper I use for my printer. So the prints from the printer look awful when they used to be a high photo quality. I downloaded the driver from the epson site and installed it, selected the driver again and it still doesn't show the correct settings. I restarted the computer and still no luck.
    Thanks for any help.

  • Trouble with iCal.  It locks up for minutes at a time.

I can no longer use iCal. It is extremely slow and often locks up for minutes at a time. Has any one experienced this and is there a way to fix it?

The next time you have the problem, note the exact times when it starts and ends: hour, minute, second.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Scroll back in the log to the time you noted above. Post any messages timestamped during that interval – the text, please, not a screenshot.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into a message.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.

  • Having trouble with macbookpro display settings

Using 'best for built-in display' setting on older 15"  Macbook Pro,  and also have tried using all the scaled options as well... the problem is that now I have to scroll left/right/up/down to see all my desktop icons/menus/dock icons and the screen 'jumps' to show the remainder of the display window when I touch the mouse to any of the sides... I have tried using different settings in the view options window e.g., icon size, grid settings, etc.
Previously this was just fine until I had to restore some files from Time Machine... I even tried to restore the Display Preferences from a date that I knew was ok, all to no avail...
This is on a Macbook Pro 3,1 using OS 10.8.3... any thoughts?

I am having a hard time finding the correct settings to make my processor run at the right speed without having to hit the bios reset jumper :P
Right now i just have it running at 1.1 Ghz 100 Mhz FSB because thats the only settings i could find that allows me to boot up.
    Any help is appreciated.

    In Advanced chipset features
    CPU FSB Clock = 166
    cpu interface = normal
    FSB/DRAM ratio by SPD
    Memory timings by SPD
    In frequency/voltage control
    CPU Ratio = by H/W--------------------------------------------------------
