Trouble with Launching First Podcast

Hi all, I'm trying to setup my first podcast, but when I test the feed in tunes (subscribe to podcast), it's not picking up the link for the audio nor the image. I pasted the links into my browser and both open up without a problem.
Can someone maybe take a look and see if there's an error in my feed? I would really appreciate it.

This plays in Safari (though it was quite slow to start) but neither iTunes when subscribing nor FireFox would play it. An attempt to open it in FireFox said it ws trying to connect to www.shannon-kennedy.com

This wouldn't open in Safari but from the 'Source' view in FireFox I got an HTML page with an iFrame.
So something very messy is going on at your server and you will need to take this up with the people running it.

Now here's the interesting thing: in the constructor of my Java class there's a call to pack() to initiate my Java GUI. When I remove that call everything works fine (but then I haven't got a GUI though). setVisible(true) in the Java code also gives that problem.
Has C++ or the Xm library some troubles with the Java GUI? Or what the hell is going wrong?
PS: On Solaris, the very same code works perfectly...

I really need a solution.
Is it possible it has something to do with threads?
Do I have to do AttachCurrentThread or something like that? Is that necessary?

Trouble with launching Classic

I have a PowerPC G4 with a super drive. Every time I try to launch Classic it just sits here and does nothing. It looks like it's going to work, but then it never finishes opening.
Is there anyone out there with advice?
Are there some settings that I should be checking?

Trouble with launching yosemite installer

Hi all.
I've downloaded Yosemite via App Store, after that installer's start page appeared. But I rebooted my Air by mistake before start installing process.
Thus I've got no idea for now (after reboot) how to launch Yosemite installer manually (App Store shows that I've really downloaded new OS X, but there is no way to start installing). Can anyone help me with that?

Trouble with watched/unwatched podcasts and movies

I'm having an issue where I can completely watch a movie clip (sometimes podcast) on my Touch and it will show as watched. Next day I hook Touch to computer to transfer music or whatever and all the movie clips on my Touch are now marked as Unwatched again. It is not set to automatically sync anything - I manually transfer all my files to my Touch, but something keeps changing the status of these.

Interestingly, removing the "prevent ipod from autosyncing" checkbox did not result in the iPod automatically syncing.
c) the problem has not "already been fixed" (iTunes is still up to date with 9.0.3).
b) switching to sync 5 newest episodes had predictable consequences but didn't seem to effect the watched/unwatched/played/unplayed status.
a) I am currently habituating myself to not refresh the podcasts in between iPod syncs. It seemed like I was spending half an hour trying to get it synced anyway, so I switched my "daily" podcasts to "update hourly" and am trying to just sync it and then refresh the podcasts and then resync it (if necessary). No refreshing podcasts on iTunes after having listened to my iPod, seems like it might be my work-around.
This has been extremely frustrating. If iTunes is no longer a solution for updating my iPod with podcasts, then it really isn't worth anything to me. It has such problems dealing with more than one task at a time, that it often seems like iSpinningWheel more than iTunes. Are there iTunes alternatives out there for mac users? Do any of them play nice with podcasts? It's as if the "It Just Works" policy has taken out a bunch of exclusions on "unsupported features".
I'm quite surprised that this problem isn't more widespread, but most of my friends do not listen to podcasts. For that reason, I think that this could also be a problem with my MobileMe syncing, since the iPod Touch is set to wireless sync my contacts/calendars(/mail?). That would at least explain why there aren't more people with the same problems. If the OP is still listening, did you also have an active MobileMe account?

TROUBLE WITH TEMPO OF PODCAST! HELP!!

I do a radio broadcast and edit it in Garageband, using the podcast feature. For several months now, there have been no problems, but as I went to edit today's recordings, the voice is REAALLLLY REALLLLYYYY SLLLLOOOOWWWWW... I am recording in .wav on a tascam portable recorder, and when I play it back there it sounds fine. When I import it into iTunes it sounds fine, but when I import it into Garageband to do the editing, it plays back in super slow speed. What am I doing wrong? I have tried all I know to do; to my knowledge nothing in my settings has ever been changed, yet this problem persists. PLEASE HELP me fix this!! thanks! By the way I am using Garageband 3.0.5. I tried restarting the program, restarting the computer, etc. Nothing helps.

Trouble with Launching After Effects CS6

Whenever I launch After Effects CS6, it hangs on "MediaCore", and will stop working until I close the program. I've used After Effects numerous times, but have never installed any extra content or anything of that matter. This has never happened to me before, and I'm confused as to why!

am having trouble with iPhoto-it won't launch and leaves a blank white screen box and spinning wheel of death-if I re-install software-will I lose all photos and faces settings? Any ideas-this is a Mac Pro and Xserve school system.
It seemed to stem from when I was transferring some movie footage from an HD camcorder to iMovie.
This is a school system and I'm worried I may lose many photos and face recognition data.

1. The library is separate from the application, so re-installing shouldn't cause an issue with the actual photos. But it would be foolhardy in the extreme to do anything without first backing up.
2. Often these issues are caused by a damaged Library, so reinstalling doesn't change much.
FWIW
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.
Alternative approach:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

It would appear that you can ask for an exchange but it doesn't specify any time frame... Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can add to this.
By the way, if you've replaced the drive so many times, perhaps there's something else going on elsewhere.

Well I am feeling a bit silly now because that was all I had to do. In the past Workgroup Manager had always opened right up to the list of my users, I never even thought to click on that but apparently that was all that was needed.
I still am not sure how the iChat Server preferences changed themselves on me, but it is not the first time I have had weird "settings" issues with our Snow Leopard Server.

All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.
