Trouble with loading tiger OS

Okay I honestly think that this MAC is shot but I though that I might as well ask. But I am working on a Power PC MAC G4 with glass doors and i am trying to load MAC OS X Tiger to the computer but every time I turn on the computer it comes up with the screen saying that no internal hard drive can be found. I have attempted the following.
1st I switched out the hard drives with another G4 mac that has tiger on it and the mac was able to recognize the hard drive, but went to the mac "blue screen" shortly after.
2nd I attempted a clean hard drive and when activated it gave me the could not find a hard drive screen again.
3rd I inserted the tiger os cd into the cd drive and attempted to hold do C to load from the optical drive.
4th I tried the "command option shift delete" command to attempt a bypass of the hard drive in hope that the next system the mac would load would be the cd-dvd drive. This too failed.
5th grabbed a sledge hammer and nailed the thing about 5 times due to frustration. (No actually I did not, but I am contemplating it)
Anyone got any advice or anything to try?

The Mirrored Doors are actually polished Stainless Steel, not glass.
Behind those shiny doors you may have a CD reader or a DVD reader, or both. But if you want to install 10.4 Leopard, it will need to be a DVD reader.
From your descriptions, it sounds like you may have some Directory damage on one or more Hard Drives.
Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility
... can do a Repair of a non-boot drive, and a Verify of a Boot drive in 10.4 and later while the system is running. That would be a good place to start. repair Permissions on the boot drive can be helpful also.

  • DW MX trouble with loading PDF files

    I'm using Dreamweaver MX on an XP Pro machine and have

    This method has worked for me before, and now it's not. Does
    anyone know of a reason for this? The documents are saved

    Thanks for any help!

    I am having the same trouble with Dreamweaver MX 2004 on
    Mac-OSX since I switched from MacOs9. I still have no solution .
    When I want to export a .pdf file I get a message saying <ftp
    error>.
    I never had problems on Mac Os 9 and it started when using
    the first version of Mac Os X. I am presently using mac Os 10.4.10
    and I am still unable to transfer .pdf files, no matter whether I
    use acrobat or the Mac system to produce the.pdf file.
    When I try the page on my computer the link to the.pdf file
    functions allright, but not on the server as the file cannot be
    transfered to it by the software.
    Does someone know how to solve this ?

  • Firefox will not load my gmail, cleaned history, still will not load. I switched to goggle Chrome and I have no trouble with loading all programs. What is going on?

    All of a sudden it will not load my gmail. Restarted my computer, cleaned up history still not working on gmail. recently updated Firefox a few days ago, but I have not had trouble until today with loading gmail. Worked earlier.

    The problems are getting worse. I think I will have to give up on Firefox and go with the Google browser. No problems with IE just firefox and I can't take it anymore.

  • Trouble with loading photos!

    I have two problems with loading and hoping someone can help me in the forum.
    1) After importing new photos to LR they all come in a mixed order and not in the order they where photographed. I have tried to rename them first in Bridge but with no success.
    2) When the photos are loaded in lightroom it takes a terrible long time for each photo to be charged. Seams like every photo needs to be loaded again.
    I use a PC and just bought LR but have experience of LR before with an earlier version. Use a Canon 5D mark II.
    Very much appreciate help with this!!
    Åsa

    Thanks for your help!
    Managed to sort the photos in the right order!!!
    To make the photos charge faster I changed it to 1/1 and I feel it loads a bit faster but still slow in my opinion.
    It now takes about 10 sec to load the photo ( in develop ) instead of 20 sec and wonder if this is normal or not. Should it not load faster !?
    I have heard that if I save the catalog in a certain place its supposed to charge faster but can´t remember where and can that be the answer.
    Thanks!!!

  • Having trouble with loading the internet?

    Hi Everyone,
    For the past 3 week or so, my 8 month old MacBook Pro has been painfully slow with loading my internet... Taking minutes sometimes. And i've noticed lately that the little spinning beachball has been appearing, the first time in 8 months.
    Someone please help

    Hi c,
    You are not alone. Some people have found that disabling IPv6 has helped:

  • Trouble with loading videos - Manually manage music and videos not supported now with iOS5 and a 1st gen iPad?

    Since updating my iPad 1st gen to iOS5.0.1 videos don't get loaded properly into the Videos app.
    On the Summary page in iTunes of my docked iPad, I have always checked the box for "Manually manage music and videos".
    I have my reasons for doing it this way, but that's for another thread perhaps.
    The problem is that when I load a video to my iPad this way - by simply just dragging it from the desktop and onto the iPad, under Devices in iTunes - it copies/updates, and shows up on the iPad like it always has before iOS5. But now, with iOS5, when I undock, it can't be found anywhere within the Videos app on the iPad. The only way I can find it is to do a Search, which seems to find it, but when I click it, a different video plays - the first video in the Movies list in the Video app. Dock the iPad again, yes the video is there, according to iTunes, but no way to play it once iPad is undocked.
    My suspicion is that with iOS5 you are no longer able to use the "Manually manage music and videos (Mmm&v)" that you will be forced to run everything through iTunes - and probably iCloud. I've unchecked the Mmm&v box, and get prompted with "Are you sure? - All existing content on the iPad will be replaced with content from your iTunes library". READ - "Rebuild your entire video and music collection, and this time run it all through iTunes. Welcome to iOS5. Have a nice day or two wasting your time rebuilding your entire video and music collection. Don't fight it. Use iTunes for everything! Until we finally make iTunes a decent piece of digital media management software, then you'll have to do it all again."
    Okay, rant over - Anyone out there with running iOS5 on a 1st gen iPad with the Mmm&v option checked and able to load a video manually (not through iTunes)? Any other thoughts?
    Thanks

    Yea, i managed to fix my issue in a wild fashion way But I DONT suggest it to anyone.
    I like to hear why it happened after upgrading iTunes and if there is any peaceful solution.
    Bythe way, here is how i fixed it :
    1-i checked "manually manage music and videos" checkbox and clicked on "Sync" button
    2-It showed a threating message that it will erase my music and videos ,......
    3-I clicked on OK button and let iTunes do any thing she said , but the second it started to delete my treasures from my iphone, i disconnected my phone by pulling USB cable.
    Now i have my musics and videos untouched and got that Option enabled again and i can manage my Music/Videos and Books manually.

  • Trouble with loading external mp3 files

    I apologize for the length of the post. I hope this is clear
    of what I am trying to explain.
    My problem deals with getting "undefined" when I press a
    button to load an external mp3 files. The following is what my XML
    childNode looks like:
    <option phonetic="Soundless, or A" name="aleph"
    cursive="alephCursive.swf" block="alephBlock.swf"
    audio="char1.mp3"/>
    Every attribute loads the way I've programmed them, except
    for the last one "audio".
    The following is what my actionscript looks like loading in
    these attributes:
    Everything is happening inside the onLoad event for my XML
    file.
    var xmlContent = this.firstChild.firstChild;
    audioContent = new Array();
    for (var i = 0;
    i<this.firstChild.firstChild.childNodes.length; i++) {
    nextEntry = xmlContent.childNodes
    audioContent = [nextEntry.attributes.phonetic,
    nextEntry.attributes.name, nextEntry.attributes.cursive,
    extEntry.attributes.block, nextEntry.attributes.audio];
    The code above simply adds each attribute to the audioContent
    array. Each element traces out correctly.
    The following code is how I am using these attributes:
    for (var i = 0; i<audioLength; i++) {
    audioContainer.attachMovie("container4", "audioItem"+i, i);
    // Create a shortcut reference to the present movie clip
    thisClip = audioContainer["audioItem"+i];
    thisClip.myTxt1.htmlText = audioContent[0];
    thisClip.myTxt2.htmlText = audioContent
    [1];
    thisClip.cursive_mc =
    loadThis(assetPath+audioContent[2], thisClip.cursive_mc);
    thisClip.block_mc = loadThis(assetPath+audioContent
    [3], thisClip.block_mc);
    thisClip.speaker_mc.attachMovie("speaker", "speaker_mc",
    this.getNextHighestDepth());
    thisClip.speaker_mc.speaker_mc.onRollOver = function() {
    this.nextFrame();
    thisClip.speaker_mc.speaker_mc.onRollOut = function() {
    this.prevFrame();
    thisClip.speaker_mc.speaker_mc.onRelease = function() {
    mySnd.loadSound(audioPath+audioContent[4],true);
    Loading the text works inside the htmlText. Using a function
    loadThis to load external swf files works corerctly and even
    attaching a linked movieclip from my library called "speaker" works
    correctly.
    The problem comes from pressing the speaker movieclip that
    the output traces "undefined" instead of the external mp3 file.
    I appreciate any help. Thanks.

    As Ned said the problem might be with the file structure on the server. Other problems may be with spelling. You computer may not be case sensitive to the names of the .swf files that you are loading, but your server might. So, on your computer when you are testing, second.swf is the same as Second.swf, or even second.SWF. But, on the server each of these variations is seen as a different file. Another problem is that when you are loading files from the same computer in testing, those files are close and so they load very quickly from your computer. When the files have to travel from the server, there will likely be a measurable period of time before the file is ready to be shown. This is particularly problematic with video that is embedded into an .swf. The whole file will need to be downloaded and uncompressed before it is available to play. If you stream the video as an external file, you can shorten the wait considerably.

  • Troubles with loading wireless firmware

    On the boot I get a error about loading the wireless firmware.  Who can I find this error in the log?

    Improper irony aside, I have the same problem on three different machines with latest udev (091-3). Downgrade to 091-2 (if you have still the package in cache) solves the issue and firmware is loaded again.
    I am going to post a bug.

  • Trouble with loading songs onto ipod

    I was trying to load some of my existing cd's onto my ipod and after a while it wouldnt load anymore songs on. And after several times of trying to get a cd onto my ipod, it deleted all the songs I had already in it off my ipod. So I had to go back and load all the previously existing songs back onto my ipod.
    I dont know why it isnt letting me load some of my cd's on. One cd it only loaded 1 song from the 12 that were on the cd.
    I dont want to risk trying to load another cd on if its going to erase everything again.
    Anyone know whats going on?

    I'm not sure about the whole problem, but for the CD problem, single click to hightlight the first song on the list that comes up when you use the CD. Then,while holding shift, click the last song on the list. If you'be done this correctly, you should see all the songs between the top and bottom hightlighted. Then, click and drag the songs into the library and they should all download. The first will download, then the next when that finishes, and you get the idea, P.S. you do not need to use shift when you drag the songs to the library.
    It's happened to me sometimes, too.

  • Trouble with loading some sites...

    I'm a new Mac user. On mac there are some website I can't load. For example, when I go to PrincetonReview.com and click on Login, it'll take me to the login page and I'll put in my info, after that it won't load the next page and it'll give me the error "Connection was reset" on Firefox and same thing on Safari.
    Same thing when I try to sign up for a free registration at beachbody.com. I can go to the registration page and put in my info, after that it will go to an error page I've mention before on Firefox and Safari.
    In the status bar, it seems like it's trying to contact the websites and it's taking a long time before it goes to those error pages.
    Also both my browsers are updated.
    The pages I can't load in Safari, it's the same on Firefox. When I used my PC, I had no problems loading any websites...please don't make me have to go back to PC.
    Any ideas on why I can go to some websites and not all? Thanks!!!

    Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player:

  • Trouble with loading photos from a disc can you help?

    I keep getting about half the photos with the message unrecognized format.

    Most of this is because InternetAddress.toString isn't returning a nice
    string for printing. You probably want to use the toUnicodeString method,
    or perhaps just the getAddress or getPersonalName methods.

  • ORDImages trouble with loading from networkpath

    Hi,
    I wanted to insert some pictures from filesystem of another server than the db-server. I've created a directory as system-user and grant this to my db-user with the following script:
    CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY DIR_TEMP_PIC AS \\app_server_01\Temp\pictures';
    GRANT READ ON DIRECTORY DIR_TEMP_PIC TO pic_user;
    The directory is approved for all users in network.
    My insert-statement looks following:
    DECLARE
    CURIMG ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE;
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO TEST_PIC(ID,IMG,IMG_SIG)
    VALUES (1,ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE(ORDSYS.ORDSOURCE(EMPTY_BLOB(),''file'',DIR_TEMP, 'summer.tif',SYSDATE,0),NULL,NULL,NULL,NULL,NULL,NULL,NULL),
    ORDSYS.ORDIMAGESIGNATURE.INIT());
    SELECT IMG INTO CURIMG FROM TEST_PIC WHERE ID =1 FOR UPDATE;
    CURIMG.SETPROBERTIES;
    UPDATE TEST_PIC SET IMG=CURIMG WHERE ID = 1;
    COMMIT;
    END;
    When I execute this statement, I got this error-message:
    SQL Error: ORA-22288: file or LOB operation FILEOPEN failed
    The system cannot find the file specified.
    When I want to open this file with the widows-explorer, the picture is been shown.
    Does the directory not support network-path?
    Who can tell me where a problem is?
    Regards,
    Sebastian

    Changing your Oracle database service to run as Administrator is a significant privilege escalation that affects the entire Oracle system. This may be overkill if what you need is to let a single user get access to some network resource.
    You can try configuring your images on a HTTP server and use the ORDImage capability to import images from HTTP sources. To do this you will need to grant specific network privileges to access the HTTP network source. This can be done in a controlled way.
    See the Multimedia documentation for more information on using HTTP sources. See the UTL_HTTP documentation for an introduction to the security issues of accessing HTTP resources from within a database server process. This doc will point you to the Security Guide for details.
    Example code to grant HTTP network access for the resource www.example.com:80 to user JOE
    -- grant network permission for HTTP source use
    -- Grant connect privilege to www.example..com:80 to PUBLIC
    declare
    stmt varchar2(2000);
    begin
    stmt := 'begin dbms_network_acl_admin.create_acl(:1, :2, :3, TRUE, :5); end;';
    execute immediate stmt using 'http_for_joe_acl.xml',
    'net ACL for JOE',
    'JOE',
    'connect';
    stmt := 'begin dbms_network_acl_admin.assign_acl(:1, :2, :3); end;';
    execute immediate stmt using 'http_for_joe_acl.xml',
    www.example.com',
    80;
    commit;
