Trouble with login -not just a blue screen-

Ok, here's everything that happened.
I put my computer to sleep yesterday, everything had been working fine. When I woke it up, I got a kernal panic and had to restart. After restarting, it brought me to the Leopard 'blue screen'. I had already had this upon my initial installation and removed application enhancer -this was months ago-. So, I did my normal thing and booted into windows and tried restarting -this does work sometimes-, didn't work, still get the blue screen. So I booted into safe mode and backed up all my documents and whatnot, I restarted and it actually started successfully, though it was running really hot (173 degrees). So I shut it down for the night and went to bed. Today, I tried starting it again and got the blue screen, I can no longer boot into safe mode, nor can I boot from the Leopard DVD. Only the windows partition works. Any ideas?

How about trying the things listed here:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303319
Also, reset PRAM (immediately after pressing power button hold Apple-Option-P-R keys until you hear startup chime three times, then release keys).
Are you sure you completely got rid of all components of Application Enhancer?

updated iphone 5 to iOS 6.1.3, now I am having trouble with keyboard not responding correctly and screen zooming in by itself...
    Buttons pressing themself...
Also, my main screen is permanently zoomed in...
    suggestions?

Double tap the screen with THREE fingers, that should get it back to normal again.
Then go into Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom > OFF.
Not too sure about the keyboard and random button presses though.  Back it up and restore from iTunes, see if that fixes it.

  • Itunes on Windows Vista with SATA Intel Raid Matrix, BLUE SCREEN!

If I wasn't an IT Administrator this problem could've really upset me. I might have perceived your software crashed my hard drives. At least I had the knowledge to know how to re-detect my raid array and get things going; but for a moment i was worried too.
Issue: I have the known problem between APPLE's QUICKTIME and how it negates disk issues with Windows Vista; specifically for those using a RAID ARRAY.
Immediately upon loading the itunes or quicktime program, I lock-up. I sometimes get a bluescreen sometimes it just locks up. I always get a warning about my RAID array when this happens; either having to power down and re-detect the members of the array or the manager says bad disk/write to one of the members.
I must power down and power-up to regain function to my computer.
Intel says this is an apple problem and this doesn't shock me; because Itunes/Quicktime has some interesting disk stuff.
    Hello Jeffrey,
Thank you for contacting Intel(R) Technical Support.
We have seen this; however, the root cause of the issue is not our RAID controller or its driver. You need to contact the application developer for additional information and troubleshooting assistance.
*Please contact Apple* for technical assistance.*

I sent some inquiry to Intel regarding my RAID array and apples software. I hope apple considers their windows customers diligently; otherwise they will start to make the same arrogant mistakes other companies have made; like Microsoft.

    Hey Jeffrey,
I would just like to report that I am NOT experiencing the problem you describe. With my configuration (some details below) I can play video podcasts and listen to music in iTunes; I do not get a blue screen. My only issue is choppiness in the video playback (occasional frames dropped / occasional lack of synchronization between audio & video).
    - Intel D945GPM Desktop Board (945G chipset)
    - Pentium 4 D920 CPU (2.8 GHz dual core)
    - Intel Matrix Storage Manager (IMSM) 7.8.0.1012 (November 2007 version)
    -> RAID 10 Array over 4 x 250 GB Seagate SATA/300 drives
    - iTunes 7.5
    - ATI Radeon X1300 Video Adapter
In reviewing your post I am unclear as to what motherboard / chipset you have; you've just shown the model number of the I/O controller (I believe). However, based on that number I believe you're probably running on a motherboard/chipset that has been de-supported by Intel. Hence, you're precluded from using the most recent versions of IMSM. (I have an older machine that has the Intel 875P chipset; I'm stuck running IMSM 5.5.0.1035 on it...)
Newer versions of IMSM support newer features in the latest chipsets and abandon older chipsets; I'm kind of sore at Intel with how quickly the obsoleted my older machine (I think it's only 4 years old).
Anyway, if there is a conflict between iTunes & IMSM, you're probably stuck trying to get it fixed from the Intel side of things. It's probably a flaw in iTunes - complex software - not running in the native Apple environment.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.

    Try restarting your Mac.
If that doesn't help, open a Finder window. Select your Home folder (it has a small house icon) in the Sidebar on the left.
Now open the Library folder then the Prefernces folder.
Move the com.apple.desktop.plist file to the Trash. Restart your Mac one more time.

HP Pavilion Entertainment won't start just shows blue screen. Sometimes says missing operating system after changing boot order. I have seen error message 303. This happened after I couldn't stop coolncheap popups so I saved everything to another computer and did a complete restore. When I was in the process of getting it back to working order I allowed updates recommended and optional and then everything started.

Also pressing F11 won't take me to recovery

  • Thinkpad X300 with windows xp sp2 gets blue screen after standby.

We have a Thinkpad X300 (with windows xp sp2) gets blue screen after standby. I mean after you close the lid then open it. Anyone has see this kind of behave before?
    Thanks,

I have found the solution to this problem - hope you are still watching the thread.
Express install in parallels seems to be the culprit. Do a custom install instead and set your own virtual hard disk size. I set mine to 12 Gb (12000 Mb)and made it a fixed size instead of "growing" or whatever the heck parallels calls it. I also chose shared network instead of "bridged" (I read that someone else had identified this as part of the problem).
After making those changes it worked like a charm.

  • HP dv9740us not going past blue screen with page_fault_in_nonpaged_area error

I have had very few problems with my laptop until recently.  I have had a couple of minor crashes that I could fix by doing a hard restart.  Last night, I was playing an online game and suddenly my game started to bog down then it froze up completely.  I tried to ctrl+alt+delete to restart and nothing happened.  So I ended up holding down the power button until it shut down.  As soon as it started to reboot, it went into a black screen asking for start up repair or start windows normally.  I tried repair, and it took me to the screen, did a little running of the program, then went black.  When I was ready to hit the power button it flashed several windows in both blue and black and finally ended up with the blue screen telling me I had the page_fault_in_nonpaged_area error.  I tried several things:  restarted again, ran disk tests on both disks(passed), a memory test(passed), and am now backing stuff up to an external drive.  It will not get past that error or that blue screen.  Both my husband and I have decent experience with this kind of thing, but neither of us are able to fix it.  I also tried to follow the instructions for reseating the memory.  Nothing works.  I don't want to lose my important files, especially all of the pictures of my son's first year.  Please Help!!!
I want to add that I have not added any new programs lately.  The only thing causing problems has been a PC Matic add-on to do real time protection.  That stops working everytime I open windows.

This Stop message occurs when requested data is not found in memory. The system generates a fault, which normally indicates that the system looks for data in the paging file. In this circumstance, however, the missing data is identified as being located within an area of memory that cannot be paged out to disk. The system faults, but cannot find, the data and is unable to recover. Faulty hardware, a buggy system service, antivirus software, and a corrupted NTFS volume can all generate this type of error.

  • While running Windows 7 with Bootcamp I got a blue screen talking about memmoy. What happens with that trouble?

I have installed win7 on mountain lion 10.8.5 and at the begining it seemed to work good but now in the last 2 times I have stayed using Win7 suddenly i got a blue screen I as I could read, it is about memory failure.
Does anybody can help me with that?
Or maybe someone had the same problem I have fixed it all, please share your tips or trick.
    Thank you all the community.

Did you download and install the Windows Support Software?

  • In start up just get blue screen

when starting my computer I just get a blue screen nothing else loads.

This may work.  Try holding the shift key down and then press the power button.  Keep holding the shift key until you see a progress bar on the screen.  If you get a login in.  Log in.  Once logged in do a re-start.  Your startup cache will be rebuilt.  The shift key starts you up in Safe Mode.  If you were able to startup in Safe Mode but not with the re-start,  you have something in your account startup items that's giving you a problem (under apple, system preferences, account).

  • Will not boot past blue screen

The present status is that my ibook g4 will no boot past the spinning wheel screen which hangs for a few minutes and then goes to the "Mac OS X" screen with the progress bar.
My first goal is to back up all of the data. I have a second IMac. Plus, I just purchased an external 500 gig hard drive just prior to when the error started. FYI the error started when I was going through the install process of the backup program supplied with the external hard drive. The program just asked me to restart the computer and that is where we are now.
The second goal of course is to fix the start-up issue. I have tried a number of the suggestions in previous posts including the following the install disk utilities to repair the disk.

I am having the exact same problem. I was just surfing the Internet this weekend and it completely froze and now it won't boot up. I no longer get a grey screen, at boot up, it goes from black to blue and then it hangs at the blue screen.
I have a TimeMachine and a Retrospect back up of my data but I can't boot to the Leopard Install CD which would let me restore my data.
I have tried just about everything, including booting in firewire target disk mode and connected to my old clamshell iBook G3. I was able to access my files, and I even reinstalled Tiger (couldn't use Leopard because it's not compatible with the G3). So there is a fresh copy of 10.4 running on my iBook G4 but it still will not boot up on its own.
No idea what to do at this point, but I would suggest not reformatting as it really didn't seem to help.

  • IMac will not start up - blue screen after months of Leopard use

I have an iMac G5 that will not start up. It hangs at the blue screen, but does not have the issue with the ApplicationEnhancer.bundle file. It will start up in safe mode.
This iMac will not start from a bootable external drive (the external drive can be used as a start up disk successfully with my iBook G4). The iMac's internal drive can be used as a start up disk for the iBook (via the target mode) and does not appear to have any problems. Does this seem like it is a hardware issue with the iMac? The iMac also hangs at the blue screen if I attempt to start up with the Leopard install disk after using the startup disk preference pane in safe start mode.
I have repaired permissions, verified the disk, etc., using the disk utility. I have cleared caches, preferences, and so on, using Mac HelpMate.

It may be that some of your login items might be incompatible with the mac. Also, try booting up from the install disk and repair your disk.

  • IBook G4 suddenly freezes, does not go beyond blue screen

My iBook G4, recently upgraded to 10.5.2, suddenly went into a freeze, where neither the mouse nor nothing else would move anymore. I had to shut down by pressing the power button. When starting anew, I did not get past the blue screen. Same problem when trying to start in Safe Mode. I managed to get past the blue screen twice, with long intervals in between start-ups (ie. starting from cool), but the machine immediately froze up again in the first 10 seconds. Since the machine had the same problems two years ago, I am suspecting the Logic Board (yet again), although the Board was exchanged by the Mac Service in 2006. I backed up all the data in Transfer Mode without problem, so the HD seems to be unaffected. I cannot start the iBook from the disc so cannot run TechTool or Disk Utility. Please help.

Thanks - none of these problems seem to refer to my own blue screen problem, which did not occur just after updating to 10.5 or 10.5.2 - I had the software running without problems for weeks now. So it must be something new coming up. I ran a hardware test on the machine, and no logic board or hard disk problem was found. So it seems to be something else. Without being able to start on the installation disk, I can't even do an archive and install.
