Trouble with MIDI, redirecting MIDI out to Line-out???

Hello
I have yet another question regarding Logic pro and MIDI. I've plugged my keyboard via MIDI to my TC konnekt 8 audio interface, which is then plugged via firewire to my laptop. I've succesfully been able to record a track and now i want to actually hear it. I know im able to hear it via the Midi connection from my interface to the keyboard, but is there a way to "redirect" the output from my MIDI track to the Line-outs on my interface, so that i can hear it on my studio monitors instead??

I know MIDI has nothing to do with audio, but there might be a way to convert it to audio.
I just wanna hear my MIDI recorded track without going through the MIDI out/the speakers in my keyboard.
The keyboard is playing the audio, under instruction from the MIDI commands. To record the audio, or patch it through your interface, you must cable up it's audio output.
Garageband is a hugely simplified version of Logic. Of course Logic can do anything GB can do.

Trouble with Ip redirect

I am having a bit of trouble with ip redirects on an airnet 1042N
Here is what happens, I turn off ip redirect, everything works fine, turn it on, everything works fine. The problem is when I apply an ACL to it.
If I apply an ACL, I can ping web sites, but I can not browse websites or telnet to port 80. This is simply a test configuration before I move it into production. 10.0.0.0/22 is our subnet. I want the guest ssid to allow access to the internet, but not the the internal network (with the exception of the gateway (10.0.1.254) , dhcp, and dns servers (same server 10.0.1.221)

Welcome to the forum.
To enable both encrypted and unencrypted traffic on same radio you need to use VLANs. If you are using only the native VLAN then you are abide by only one encryption method for all SSIDs.
Check this for multiple SSIDs and multiple VLANs:

For your network above, you should review the ACL and make sure it allows the needed traffic. Make sure both ports 80 and 23 are opened. Make sure to choose correct ports (udp, tcp) on the ACL.

Trouble with reauthenticating NAC users after laptop is out of hibernation

Hi,
Have trouble with users logging back on to laptops that comes out of hibernate mode. NAC agent pops up saying " Client Access Server not available on the network"
The current solution I have now is to run Kerbtray.exe too clear the kerberos tkts. which i believe is expired.User logs in fine after clearing.
Is there any alternate permanent soln. in 4.7.2 ver

Laptops have full disk encryption installed and encrypts the drive when it goes into hibernation .At the same time the sw port is set to move it to auth vlan after the link down trap is received by the sw.

X-Fi Xtereme Music mode switching and troubles with channels redirection

Good Day.
I have bought a X-Fi sound card and now I have troubles with my speaker system. I have analog stereo system and headphones, I connect them using my amplifier. All cables are connected properly.
When I use entertainment mode there are no problems with speaker system if 2.0/2.1 is set. But if I set headphones channels become redirected: left becomes right and right becomes left.
When i use game mode channels are redirected both in 2.0/2.1 and headphones modes.
If I connect my headphones to sound card directly there are no problems excepting entertainment mode 2.0/2.1 when channels are redirected.
Please halp me to resolve the problem.

2009 Mac Pro no audio out from Line Out and/or Digital Out.

Hey guys, I recently bought a new tv which has an optical input and thought I'd buy an optical cable to connect it to my Mac Pro's (4.1 model 2009 I believe) digital out port which I have never used before .
The issue I'm facing since is that I can't get out from my mac pro to my tv. I also bought a cable to direct sound from my mac pro's line out, to my tv's red/white stero audio ports.That didn't work either.
When I select Digital out as the default audio output in Sound preferences the OS says that there are not default audio controls for that device and the sound icon in the menu bar is greyed out while when I switch to line out output I can control volume but no audio is coming from my TV.
I've been searching on forums and didn't find any relevant answer so if someone knows what may cause this that'd be really helpful.
*ALSO: I've got windows 8 instaleld on my mac pro as well. The digital out doesn't work there as well although the line out does send sound to the TV.
** I also have soundflower installed and perian although I don't think any of them would mess things up like that.
Do you think this is a problem with my Mac or is this a common Mavericks issue (sorry forgot to mention I'm on 10.9.2)

Aggregate device using digital out and line out

I am trying to create an aggregate device using the digital out and the line out built into the mac pro. However, I only get sound from the device marked as the clock. Is it possible to aggregate these two outputs? or are they not compatible?

i think the error number was -200022, because the PFI lines for the two PWM counter look all your digital ports.
You can see this if you look on into the pinout for your device. You need an device with some additional digital ports.

I am having trouble with a redirect virus; how to fix?

I think I have a virus or spyware on my computer. It redirects me to a third-party site (something like LinkBucks) when I try to visit Facebook, Google or YouTube. This happens in both Safari and in Mozilla Firefox. I have tried scanning with ClamX, MacScan, but they are not finding any viruses. I also downloaded a kit that scans the computer for DNS redirect changer viruses, but it can't find any. What should I do now?

It performs three checks:
The first will identify whether or not you have the Flashback.G Trojan (as well as a couple of earlier versions). If you are infected it will look something like this:
   "DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES" = "/Users/Shared/.<dylib_filename>.so";
If it says that, STOP everything and return here for instructions! Do not attempt any file deletions or you can easily lock yourself out of your account.
If it says anything else or cannot find the file, you are OK on this one.
The second test looks for the Flashback.N Trojan, but since we have not been able to find anybody who was infected yet and the information on it is incomplete, there's no assurances for this one.
The third checks to see what version of Java you have. If it says anything less than 1.6.0_29 followed by some other alpha-numerics, you are vulnerable to being infected without any action on your part other than visiting a web site. In such a case use Software Update to get the latest patch.
The other suggestion would be to check for the old DNSChanger by visiting the site http://www.dcwg.org/checkup.html, click on "Mac OSX" in the left box and follow the directions.
If that's OK then click on "Checking Via Browser" and follow those directions.
It's possible that your router is infected, but unfortunately they still have not posted instructions for that.
To fix any problems you find click on the "Cleanup" tab at the top.

Trouble with Login Redirect [$_SESSION['PrevUrl']

I'm using the DW functionality to confirm that a user is logged in before allowing access to a page. Everything works except successfully redirecting to the previous URL. Here's the situation:
User accesses a page with a url such as "addtocookbook.php?recipeid=6".
Since the user is not logged in, they are redirected to"login.php".
After successfully logging in, the user is redirected to "addtocookbook.php" without the "recipe=6".
My login page does attempt to direct the user to the previous url (if it exists). I'm not sure if there is a simple way to make the variable $_SESSION['PrevUrl'], used by DW to redirect, store the entire url.
Any help is appreciated.

The problem lies with some obsolete code in the Restrict access to page server behavior. Fortunately, the fix is quite simple.
The affected section of code is as follows:

Trouble with log in after my brand new, out of the box computer, sleeps.

I'm having trouble logging in after my computer sleeps, I cannot directly do so even though my user account option is displayed. I have to "choose another user" and re-choose my user account. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know if it can be fixed?

No sound from speaker port with X-fi, but headphones and line out are f

After going through a lot of driver updating yesterday, I encountered several bad drivers and had to do a system restore a few times. However, after I did that my Sound Blaster X-fi card stopped putting sound out through the speakers. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, updating the driver, reconnecting everything, running diagnostics, and looking at the system settings, but nothing works. Oddly enough, when it's either disabled or not used as my default playback device (apparently I also have a Realtek AC97), the speakers will play, but when I try using X-fi it doesn't. The odd thing is that the AC97 was one of the corrupt drivers (which I removed and returned to its original driver, don't know what the date was), but the X-fi didn't have any problems at all, but now it seems glitchy whenever I try to do anything with it, including trying to uninstall the drivers and looking it up in the System Information console. The Device Manager says I have the most recent driver for the X-fi right now, but even if I roll it back it still doesn't work. Can somebody please tell me what I should do, because this seems like a software issue to me. OS: Microsoft Windows XP Edition (Service Pack 2)System Model: Dell DXG05

EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM HERE!
I havent got another motherboard to test my x-fi xtreme music on, but it's a very frustrating problem, if i boot up from cold the soundcard is either not recognised or is recognised but there's no sound output.
My motherboard is ASUS P5E3 Pro,
Memory: 8GB OCZ DDR3 600
Cpu: x9650 extreme @ stock 3.0GHz
Psu: Coolermaster 850w modular
Gfx: HD 5770 (will be changing this to a HD4890 soon as it's rubbish)
Ive tried all sorts of combinations to try and get this soundcard working properly, stick of ram, etc... NOTHING WORKS AND IM ANNOYED!
Ive played about with just about every bios setting i can find (theres a lot on this board) and still no luck, i've got the latest bios flashed and everything is upto date, as a musician this problem is very irritating, having to reboot the computer about 3 times to get the sound working! even then theres problems with sound drop-outs.
Makes no difference if i use windowsXP or windows7 the problem still remains, i might ask asus to make a bios update for this problem because im not sure if creative have the answers.

No audio from line out

hi,
my audio works with internal speaker but nothing from line out when selected in sound controls. In audio midi setup, i do not appear to have any control on the master volume for line out, (its stuck at 0) i am suspecting a driver problem - May have been overwritten or deleterd when I tried to install Parallels 7 - now uninstalled

What do you have connected to line out?
Line out is designed to be the input to amplifiers and not speakers.

GX740 - Anyone get two TRUE separate audio streams out Headphones and LINE OUT?

Hoping for an update on this. I asked MSI via their support section and wow... what a FAIL that was:

Needless to say, that did nothing. In fact, I can't understand how I could of received such an answer given it made no sense what-so-ever. Download the driver that came with it? One that's now almost a year old?
Regardless... I've tried that one. I've tried the latest RealTek drivers. I've tried a multitude of ASIO drivers. NOTHING WORKS. Yes, I've set the RealTek to send TWO SEPARATE STREAMS. That does NOTHING. The only thing I've been able to ascertain is that you can send one stream out the headphone/line out (same thing) AND one out the HD port which is useless.
Here's the pain in the ass: If you go to the RealTek setup and change it to 7.1 and hit TEST, you DO hear separate output out the HEADPHONE JACK and the THIRD Audio Out jack which is the side fills so I know this laptop CAN spit audio out two separate outputs sitting on the side of the computer.
Why do I want to do this:
Simple. I'm lugging around an external audio interface for DJing and it's a pain. I'd rather just tap the headphones out for, well, headphones and send the line out or that third audio output to the DJ mixer. Done! I've tried MIXMEISTER, VIRTUAL DJ, NOTHING WORKS! I can select various strangely named outputs insinuating speaker out, speaker out + 1, etc... but no... it doesn't work at all...
Sooooooooo... has ANYONE been able to get this to work? I'd love to know...

Yea Stu... been through this part... Playback devices show the typical:
1. Speakers (Realtek) -> Plays on ext. speakers but sounds like just treble. Headphone Out plays this stream.
2. RealTek HD Audio 2nd output -> Plays on ext. speakers but sounds like bass/mids. No treble. NO OUTPUT PLAYS THIS. Plug anything in and sound from the speakers just shuts off
3. Realtek HDMI Output (Not selectable)
4. Realtek Digital Output (Not selectable)
So yea, it seems right out of the box there is a problem with the sound on this unit. Choosing speakers sounds like crap (no mid/bass) and choosing HD Audio 2nd output sounds like crap (all mid/bass no treble).
There is no discrete dual audio out the jacks.
HOWEVER - Go choose 7.1 from the realtek setup and do a test. Well what do you know, DISCRETE 2ND AUDIO OUTPUT OUT THE HEADPHONE JACK AND THE 3RD OUTPUT JACK OF THE 4 IN A ROW. This PROVES you can have two discrete stereo audio streams coming out the output jacks. Just need someone to write the driver for it.
Here's the thing. This laptop HAS 4 1/8" JACKS. SEE:

Hi there!
I want to remap (retask) headphones jack (3.5 mm) to act as line out.
Trouble is in that I can choose only from "Line out front", "Line out back", "Line out center", "Line out side", but I want just one simple "Line out" to connect to 1 channel amplifier.
What can I make in such situation? Will "Line out front" be suitable in such situation? May be "Advanced options" checkbox will help (but I don't know how to configure port in this mode)?

Better audio would be relative. Remember the audio will only be as good as the weakest link in the chain. If you are prepared to use high quality audio files, amplification and speakers or headphones, then yes, you can get better audio performance. But if you are only planning to make a partial commitment, you aren't going to get any gain and will just waste your money.

You don't want to go too cheap because a poor quality D/A converter may make the audio worse. What devices like this does, is take a function that your iPad already does through built-in circuitry and do it externally with the assumption that you can buy a D/A converter and amplifier with higher quality components than those used by Apple.

Trouble with sorting albums

I have two troubles with itunes:
occasionally my albums have their "out of" track numbers removed. so in the track # column it does not display "(track number) of (total tracks on CD)" but instead only displays "(track number)"
And
occasionally the LAST song of an album will above the FIRST song of the album instead of the staying as the last song. I have tried everything and cannot fix this without re burning the CD. I don't want to have to do that as I do not have my CD collection with me.
How should I go about fixing these and making sure they dont continue to happen?

Generally setting a common Album Artist will fix things.
For deeper problems see Grouping tracks into albums.
If iTunes won't accept changes to the tags see Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows.
If iTunes appears to accept your changes but the original values reappear later then the files are likely to be mp3s with multiple tags. In such cases iTunes only updates one of them and may later read back the unchanged data from the other. To fix this select the tracks in question in iTunes, right-click and use Convert > ID3 Tags > None, several times, then use Convert > ID3 Tags > ID3v2.3. You will need to reinsert any embedded artwork.

"Line-out" volume problem?

I seem to have a problem with my 2nd Gen Nano's "line-out" volume. I have purchased 3 different FM transmitters to use in my car, and with each one, the volume is so low that it is almost unuseable. So, I bought a $100 direct connect interface so that I can connect the Ipod directly to a "docking cable" that is connected to the back of my car stereo Head Unit (through a little device). Still, the volume is just way too low, even at max volume of the car stereo.
Any ideas?

I'm assuming the JB3 works in the same way as my JB, which may or may not be correct.
I have never seen the message you refer to but there are 2 line-out sockets at the back of the player and a headphone socket at the side. The headphone socket has variable volume but the volume controls only work when headphones are plugged in.
The line-outs default to a fixed ouptut level - that is what line-outs are, a standard level of output for feeding into an amplifier. In the menus, though, you can set them to variable output so that they work the same as the headphone socket. Again you need something plugged in to the socket you want to adjust the volume on.
To switch to variable volume press Lib and go to Personalization, Line Out and change the setting.
