Trouble with Mini-Bridge

I am using Photoshop CS6 on Windows 8.1 system. Have already had to disable Graphics Processor to stop the flickering window, now Mini-Bridge says it can't find any files. No problem with Bridge, just Mini-Bridge. Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks Curt. Yes Bridge is open. It is okay, I found the problem. Some of my library names changed when I upgraded to 8.1. Found the problem and solution.

Placed images with mini bridge

multiple image layouts where images are placed with mini bridge are not editable until the layout is saved, well still not, save and reopen and the images are not placed in the layout. deleated ps6 today, reinstalled, updated, purchased cc for ps.... still not working

I just tried this with a new document in CC, and I had no problem opening and editing the placed Smart Object in the unsaved document. If you place a jpg or other file that does not allow layers, and try to add a layer, it will save psb file and you will lose any editing, as the jpg will still be embedded. You either need to place psd files, or once you make some edits, use the smart object replace content to replace the jpg with the psd or psb file.

Trouble with Adobe Bridge CS5.5 for Mac Lion Photo downloader

Hi, I am having trouble with CS5.5 Bridge's photdownloader when I am trying to choose a folder location.
Im using Lion / Mac
When I try to choose say an external drive or another folder location it will freeze up and stay on "Choose" the button flashes on and off but when i try to click it it will not respond or select the desired file location
The photodownloader does not respond to any other commands..i have to force quit it..yes i have re-booted..re-started and problem remains..
The only way i can download photos is by choosing the first file option of the pictures file on my harddrive which is not want I wish to do..i have noticed that this started happening after the Raw update..was wondering if this is affecting Photodownloader..
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..thank you

I agree with Jennie - the beauty of "get photos from camera" is that it takes 2 steps out of the workaround you mention above. Personally, I'm okay living with 6.4.1, as I have an older camera. I won't be happy if one of the push updates re-updates me to 6.5 though. I wouldn't want to redo the reinstallation of the new version. This method will not work for any of my clients or students though - they normally can't comfortably follow the technicality of downgrading, and some have newer cameras and would need the 6.5 version. (I don't believe in betas for my clients, and neither do they, for the most part)
I guess I should thank Adobe - some of my clients have needed tech support to perform the downgrade (SO many people aren't comfortable technically), and some of my clients needed to be retaught the workaround SG mentions. Adobe's flub has actually made me a little money - which I'd rather not have to make this way.
SG's workaround does work and makes sense - but for my clients with hundreds of images at a time, who have to rename items, add copyright info, & etc., this more than doubles their work-time for the start of their workflow. I hope Adobe gets that GM version out soon.
BTW - this issue supports an argument I've hadfor years regarding "PUSH" updates. I always tell my clients and students not to do them until they research the update. Because of what I do, I do have to install them personally, but I'm grateful I'm comfortable fixing things myself.

Problem with mini bridge

When I click on browse in mini bridge it opens and says " waiting for bridge CS5" nothing else happens and no files ever open. What can I do to get files into mini bridge?

FYI, you posted this to the BrowserLab forums and unless I'm misunderstanding your question I don't think this has anything to do with BrowserLab. I'm not sure what the "mini bridge" is. You might try posting your question to another forum...

"Big Bridge" does not launch with Mini Bridge

When I open Photoshop and launch Mini-Bridge, it does not launch "big bridge." The littel wheel turns around and a note says "waiting for Bridge CS5," but Bridge CS5 never opens. The little wheel keeps turning around and keeps waiting and waiting. I have gone into settings and tried both settings. 1. Open Bridge automatically when Mini-Bridge starts. 2. Do not start Bridge until browse files is checked. On either setting, Bridge still will not launch. Does this call for a re-install of Photoshop? Need advice. Thanks

I have not kept up on this issue. There was quite a discussion on the topic in the Photoshop Forum when CS5 came out, but issues must have been resloved as have not see anythiing on it for awhile.
Make sure you have the latest Bridge and PS updates. The use the search fuction (many times google is faster) and read some of the replies.

Quit Bridge.
Then hold down Cmd+Opt+Shift and when the menu above appears click on the middle box.
If that doesn't solve the problem, repeat the procedure but this time click on the top box.

Trouble with mini ipad after ios 7

Since IOS7 cannot enter to the appstore in my mini ipad, just by the desktop;its asking me several times my apple ID but does not enter or do anything.
Anyone with the same issue?
How do I fix this?

Try not to leave your iPad with the screen shining and the charger plugged in. This happens especially when you put it on some soft warming area like your bed or leave it in its case.

Trouble with Adobe Bridge

Hi,
It appears that the instllation of Adobe Bridge did not function with my Cretive Cloud downloads and installs...
Bridge does not appear as an application or anywhere within my Mac's directory structure (OS X Lion).
Is there anyway to reinstall it?

Trouble with wireless bridge......

I am having extreme difficulty setting up Cisco Aironet 1310 series devices. here is an overview:
We have our main network with an ip scheme of 10.1.1.0/24 on one side and an office across the street that is on 10.1.2.0/24.
I want to connect these 2 networks via wireless bridge. We do have a PTP T1 between the 2 sites that is used to carry VoIP traffic and data, but I want the data moved to the wirless bridges.
I put the bridges on their own network of 192.168.1.0/28 and I am using 2 switches with their own VLANS on the same network as the bridges.
No matter what I try, I can't get traffic to flow properly.
does anyone have any suggestions or can they point me in the right direction. It is driving me crazy!

Hi Andrew, Thanks for the response.
AP's are running in "root" and "non-root" mode and they are able to talk to each other ok. Just can't get the traffic to flow from point A to B (the main network, through the wireless bridges, over to the remote network and back again), then back from B to A. The traffic either loops or bounces back and forth between the firewall and the switches. I suspect I need t tweak the gateways on each of AP's as well.
Right now, the gateways are set to point to the VLAN set on the switch of the opposite side. This way, traffic hits the AP and is forwarded through to the opposite VLAN.
I am using seperate VLAN's to seperate the traffic but have not tried to associate with a specific SSID as of yet.

Trouble with Mini PCIe Slot on X220

After years of not going for a mSATA SSD due to cost, I finally took the plunge & bought a Plextor 256Gb M5 series mSATA SSD. Upon trying to install it earlier today it just wouldn't fit, no matter what angle I tried. On closer inspection the reason became apparent: 2 of the slot pins/grooves (if that's what you call them) had collapsed down into the gap through which the drive was meant to fit, & wouldn't budge at all.
Given that I didn't check the slot before initially trying to insert the drive I don't know if it was of my doing, but I highly doubt it. I'm now left with an expensive (for me anyways!) piece of hardware that I was really looking forward to, just lying in it's box.
I was wondering if anyone had some advice as to what I should do next with regard to fixing the problem e.g. is there anyway of fixing/replacing the slot myself (apologies if that's a foolish/idiotic comment, I'm happy to tinker with my gadgets but certainly no expert) or do I need to get a professional involved?
Any advice would be hugely appreciated. Many thanks.

It is a bit hard for me to tell from the photo, but it appears that two pins on the top row near the ends are the ones you are talking about. Is that correct?
If the unit is still under warranty, I would suggest checking with Lenovo support and see what suggestions they might have.
Otherwise... have you tried gently trying to lever them up using a toothpick (or other relatively soft non-metallic object)? If so, did that allow you to get the pins aligned correctly?

Mini Bridge "Waiting for Bridge" error Macintosh

We'd been having this error on a couple of our computers and none of the steps in the KB article http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/error-waiting-for-bridge-cs5.html are working.
We initally set up one computer to be used as our master image. Once we had things working the way we wanted on this computer we cloned the drive using Carbon Copy Cloner and distributed the master image to 3 other computers for testing. Mini Bridge was working fine on the master image. Once we cloned the master we changed the name of the default user account to our intended user's name following Apple's directions for changing user account names. Mini Bridge did not work on any of the user accounts on the cloned computers even those accounts whose names did not change. I even tried creating a new test account and it still does not work.
I've been doing some experimenting removing various Adobe related files and then trying to use the Mini Bridge until I figured out what worked. What I found was I could go to Library/Application Support/Adobe, and using Get Info, make the default user the owner of the Adobe folder. (They already had read/write permissions.) After that they are able to use the Mini Bridge. However, none of my other user accounts can work with the Mini Bridge since they are not owners of the Adobe folder. It seems that Mini Bridge is only able to function if the current user is also the owner of the Adobe folder?
I looked at the permissions on the master for the Adobe folder and it said it was owned by root and belonged to the admin group. On the cloned images it states that it is owned by the default user and belongs to the staff group. I tried using Terminal and changed the owner and group to root and admin as it was on the master, but that didn't make any difference. It will still only work if the default user is actually made the owner of the folder.
We will be cloning several more computers this way and I'd like to figure out why this is not working and see if there is a way to make it work for all users of the computer. I am sure something is happening with permissions on the Adobe folder when the user account is renamed on the clone, however I also did a group of 4 laptops this same way and those cloned computers all work fine under all user accounts.

Thanks for the suggestions. I finally got it working today.
We've been using Bridge for quite a while but the Mini Bridge is new to us as we are just now updating to CS5. I did notice a bit of lag time with Mini Bridge and sometimes it didn't want to display the items on networked drives, but if I hit the backward and forward arrows it would work, so maybe just a screen redraw issue or something there, but other than that it seems to be working ok over our network for now.
Your tip about having only one copy of Bridge open at a time was the key. We have been able to open the same program on multiple user accounts simultaneously before, but I can't say that we have with Bridge. I didn't notice it at first but when you choose Mini Bridge in InDesign it is actually opening the full Bridge in the background though it doesn't open the Bridge window, but looking at my Dock I see where it has been launched. When I would switch to another user account to test the Mini Bridge I wasn't closing out of Bridge in the first account, since I didn't realize it was open, so I'm assuming since it was still open there it could not launch it under the second user. Once I closed out of Bridge on the first account it worked fine on the second.
So think we have it resolved now.
Thanks so much for the tip! This has been driving me crazy for a day and a half. Now I can get on with my other computer set-ups.
By the way, we are ok on the number of CS copies floating around, we have a volume license. :-)

CS5 Mini Bridge Opens Images in Windows Paint

Can anyone tell me how to open images with Mini Bridge into Photoshop CS5? I have both an XP and a Windows 7 64-bit computer. I just downloaded the update to the CS5 program I had already installed and now when I go to open a JPEG image in Mini Bridge it opens the image in a program called Paint. When I use Bridge itself, with the settings set to "Automatically open all supported JPEGs" it opens my JPEG images in Camera Raw (which is fine). Do I have to reset the Preferences in order to clear everything out and start from scratch or is there another workaround that someone can tell me?

Yes, that is exactly what I did. Should I then always keep the prior version available in the computer or uninstall the earlier version before installing the upgrade version? I don't recall having this problem in earlier versions of LR or Photoshop.
I will go ahead and reinstall both CS5 and LR3 after deactivating. Darn I was hoping there would be a workaround, but I have no idea what the previous file associations would have been or how to change them in LR. I sure did learn a valuable lesson though.

Can not creat Ratings in Mini Bridge

I checked mode and they are in filmstrip. I tried all the other modes with the same result.
One other thing is the mini bridge icon does not appear automatically with the pallets. I have to go to the file menu and open it. It does show the file names. And I can edit them ( the names). But I cannot add a ratting. And if a file has a ratting it does not show.
I can add ratings just fine in big bridge.
But if I do a search for ratings ( 5 Stars) it finds them but does not show the ratings.

When you look at the bottom right of Mini Bridge, you have two sets of icons. The one on the left is the Preview mode and the second is the View mode. Filmstrip is one of the view modes. However, with Mini Bridge you have to be in a Preview mode to apply ratings. Mini Bridge isn't showing thumbnails

Hi.
Everything with Photoshop and Bridge CS5 is working super accept for the mini bridge ???
It just shows "waiting for Bridge CS5" all the time and nothing ever happen and everything
else is working perfect i think.
Running iMac 27" i5, 8GB of Ram, Mac OS X 10.6.3 and a
Macbook Pro 15" 2.8Ghz, 4GB of Ram, Mac OS X 10.5.8, same with both.
I checked all the maintenance stuff you can do for fixing but nothing helped.
Anyone have this problem ?

Just found out I have this problem today. I suspect it might have something to do with the updates I installed this morning. I can't remember exactly what they were but there was one each for Bridge and Photoshop (CS5). Previously I haven't had an issue with Mini Bridge at all but I don't use Photoshop on a daily basis. Now I find anything to do with Mini Bridge locks up Photoshop and I have to force quit it. Photoshop works OK as long as I don't use Mini Bridge.

When I try to browse in Mini Bridge all I get is it hanging with "Waiting for Adobe Bridge CC". Any ideas, I'm on an iMac with the latest Mavericks

I too have this problem. I'm also using Mavericks on a pretty powerful iMac. I had this problem while using the trial version of Photoshop CC and Bridge CC - both worked fine individually but when I clicked "Browse with Mini Bridge" I got the "Waiting for Bridge CC" message. Oddly, I did not have any issues when I created and tried a "Test Account" on the same iMac.
I uninstalled all trial versions of Photoshop CC and Bridge CC including all plist files, caches and anything else I could find. I then bought and installed a Photoshop and Bridge CC subscription and still have the problem. However, everthing works fine in the Test Account.
There was no Firewall running during the installation or testing.
Since Mini Bridge works fine in the Test Account it seems there is an issues with my main account not the software installation.
Any ideas other than running the applications in the Test Account.
