Trouble with online gaming

Hi,
I recently got BT Infinity installed and now I'm having trouble with the Playstation Network (PSN).  I get a couple of games of multiplayer and then get kicked out.  This happens every 15 - 20 minutes.  I get the error code 8002AD23 or 8002AD36.  I don't know what they mean.  This never happened with my last ISP and it's getting pretty frustrating.  Has anyone else experienced this problem and was there any solution.  Everything else is fine

Hi, did you set a static IP before putting your PS3 into DMZ?
You probably did but just checking. Is UPnP enabled or disabled?
I had exactly the same problem, kicked me from PSN after 15 mins without fail whilst playing online. I wasn't with BT then but the company I was with were really helpful. They configured a new router for me at their base in the end and then sent it to me. Worked like a dream after that. As far as I know they just set a static IP and forwarded the ports. Have you tried port forwarding or did you just put your PS3 in DMZ via a PC in the routers settings which will open all the ports so in theory it should work.

  • Router problems with online gaming

    Hi,
I have problems with online gaming. My router is  Linksys wrt54g2 and modem is ZTE ZXDSL 831AII and with two computers. I can't play any onlines game for example Counter-Strike 1.6 or Counter-Strike: Source. When I'm trying to connect in those games servers when it loads too bars I'm geting error that says: "Connection failed after 4 retries". Also I can't play StrongHold, Combat Arms and Battlefield2. I try to bypassing my router by connecting computer directly to my modem and games works. What I should do? Please help me.

Do you have problems with web browsing or other online applications? If not, the problem may lie with the games themselves. It's possible the games require ports to be forwarded to work correctly. Check the game documentation and see if this is the case.

  • Probs with online gaming due to subnet or IP addresses

When I first hooked up my router I had probs with Network Magic connections.
Now that I have it running better... I seem to be having a problem when gaming
    online.
My boyfriend and I have hooked up our pc's together and have tried gaming online
together... and it worked for a couple of days.  But with having some D-Link router
    probs... we reconnected everything.
Now I recall seeing two different subnet numbers for each of us before we redid
the D-Link... now they are the same...
So I am wondering if this problem is router related or does it lie with Network
Magic?  All I know is... that when I try to get on a multiplayer gaming server
I get kicked by Punkbuster saying:  'PB GUID AUTH: UNKNOWN'.
I think our online gaming predictament is due to my boyfriend and my subnet
numbers now being the same. (unlike before).
(If my prob does not relate to my router and Network Magic... than I thought
of putting in a Punkbuster Ticket to evenbalance.com)
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. : )
Note: my firewall is configed to allow online gaming, so I know that's not the
    prob.

Also what do you mean by: My boyfriend and I have hooked up our pc's together?
    Through the D-Link Router?

  • Please Help with online gaming problem. Please.

Hi. I am new to this website and I searched in the faqs but did not get much help. How do I play Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings with my cousin through online DirectPlay while the router is connected to my DSL modem? My cousin lives 9 to 10 blocks away from me and we usually use to play the game online through DirectPlay but ever since I got the router, he cannot enter my game any more. We don't play through a website or anything similar.
    Please Can someone help me.
    Info
Computer: Windows XP Service Pack 2
    Router: WRT54G Version.8
    AT&T Yahoo DSL Modem
    Thank you for your time.

This type of problem usually happens w/ DSL. On your PC lets try doing these steps. Open up Internet Explorer. On the address bar, just type the numbers 192.168.1.1 (username just leave it blank, password as default is admin). This should lead you to a linksys page. Go to status. On the status page, what is the Internet IP Address as listed there?

  • Disconnection problems with online gaming - world ...

Other users on BT have alos reoported issues with game hangs and diconnection issues with World of Tanks.
They seem to have started a few days ago. Someitme it is intermittant other times it can last for several minutes.

Having the same issue since yesterday 6th September 2012.
World of Tank client keeps disconecting, then has issues logging back in to the client.
This seems to be hapening to a lot of other players in the UK all on BT
    http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/149124-lag-and-disconnection/
BT had the same problem with World of Warcraft recently, something to do with a BT peering issue. I can only hope this problem is sorted soon.
No other internet activity is affected.

  • I removed some plugins and i have trouble with online games now

i don't know which add on or plug in is causing problem

You need to post a link to the online game site that isn't working so someone can figure out what (plugin?) the site needs to work. Some popular plugins are listed here: [[Popular plugins]]. From your list of plugins, It looks like you already have Java plug-in 1.6.0_23 and 4.0.51204.0 (Silverlight) installed.
You also need to tell us what happens when you visit the site. (Do you see an error message? Does Firefox crash or hang?)

  • Need help with online gaming

When I play a online game my ping go very high and its started few days ago.
I dont now what i can do.
    My internet is good.
    Can anyone help me?
Also mi cant geth my memory higher.
It says: 3,00 GB (2,60 GB avallible) how can i get it higher?

    > It says: 3,00 GB (2,60 GB available) how can i get it higher?
Windows 32bit system can handle only 3.2GB RAM. This is 32bit limitation.
I assume the system uses 2.6GB because the other part is used by graphic card.

  • Problem with Online Gaming

I play a game called Command and Conquer Genrals Zero Hour it will play perfectly fine with 11 ping, then it will suddenly lag out. The Interent does go off or anything it just says disconnected form the game. Any ideas? I have UpNp enabled.

You say it's peer to peer, could it be that when you start the game you may have started it during a time when p2p is unrestricted and then as time goes on the p2p restrictions come into play causing you problems?
Search for glasnost test and run that, this will tell you if p2p is restricted or not but be warned you will have to run this at different times of the day as BT's restrictions changes during the day.
If you are on an unlimited pack but signed up before February you will need to "recontract" to one of the new unlimited packs to get unrestricted p2p.

  • Macbook air 2011 online gaming with Intel HD 3000?

I was wondering whether I could buy a McBook Air with online gaming performance... The video card Intel HD 3000, would it perform well enough with games like Warbirds from iEN ?
    Thaks for the input.
    docmontreal

    Hi doc,
    From their website - http://www.totalsims.com/requirements.php
The Intel HD 3000 has triple the VRAM memory allocation and the GPU (although shared) is superior to the Radeon 9800.
It'll definitely get the job done. Were there any other games you were interested in playing as well?

  • What Mac product is best for online gaming?

I purchased a MacBook Pro for my daughter & she loves it. She was a little disappointed that she couldn't play some of her online games because the web browser wasn't compatible. Other than that she had no complaints.
Is there a software that's needed in order to play online games? I'm not sure I want to purchase a Mac Desktop for the family & have issues with online gaming.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

Well for browser based games you likely have to install Firefox and the Flash browser plugin, they are likely not accepting Safari in particular because of it's small market share.
Firefox, Chrome and IE they have to support.

Online gamming tend to mean heavy duty 3D games that are competitive, require a very powerful video card etc. for that really no Mac is ideal, a Windows 7 3D gaming tower is a more preferred option as the video cards can be upgraded.
Sure one can play offline 3D games well on a Mac, but that's not as much fun as online competitive gaming is.
For that you might want to consider a PlayStation 3 for lower cost, easier to use larger screen (HDTV) and a level playing field in hardware.

  • Low ping yet online gaming performs poorly

This has always been an issue with my BT ADSL connection. On paper it looks perfect for gaming; a solid ~23ms ping to UK servers (FastPath) with practically no jitter, a constant 4.5/0.25 mbps throughput yet online gaming (Xbox Live) shows way more lag than the ping figures would suggest, it's pretty poor.
Any suggestions as to why this could be? It's as if either my hardware (HomeHub4) or BTs network has a very low priority for gaming traffic (I game mainly during peak hours, as do most people I expect)
I'm currently testing a non BT router to see if the issue lies with the Home Hub. It's definitely looking better so far gaming wise (will need to test more though) but actual web browsing is noticeably slower with the same speedtest/ping results!?
All other hardware is removed from the network, cable to the Xbox has been swapped. Gaming performance is my primary concern and the BT connection is almost putting a stop my enjoyment of online play.
My exhange is Infinitiy enabled but my cabinet not and seemingly no way to find out when it will be.

The current BT homehub which is Homehub3 is a very poor router in my opinion but I dont have any issues with online gaming when my connection works correctly.
Can you go to http://speedtester.bt.com/ and do a speed test
    Also go http://192.168.1.254
then go to settings, advanced, broadband then connection and copy and paste the ADSL connection information here.

  • Having issues with PC gaming and my Linksys AC1900 router! (What settings should I be using?)

Well I recently purchased a linksys AC1900 for a better/faster connection with my internet. Sadly, I have been having issues with online gaming. I am attempting to play a blizzard game (Diablo 3) but its not letting my connect. I did a direct wired connection and it worked just perfect. However, I dont want to play in my garage...lol. Does anyone have any ideas what settings I should be using? It lets me connect to battlenet but when my character loads into the world I get disconnected. I tried opening ports, shutting off uPnP, and various other things. Is the the router or is it me? Someone please help!

I got confused with your response. If you are still having the same challenge, make sure you have enough speed to play any online game. You may also try to reboot your PC and the router. If the result is the same, check if the firmware is up to date. You may try to manually update it on the Linksys Smart WiFi page. Here's how. Once accomplished, reset, reboot, and reconfigure the router. I hope this helps!

  • High Pings in online gaming

I am having major ping issues with online gaming even playing on UK based servers it is jumpering constantly to the 700's range. I rang a pingtest.net and even that is showing a rating of D and saying that online gaming won't work. I download at between 600-900KB/s a second normally but online gaming is impossible atm.
Is there anything I can do?

it's not the servers as they are european based and everyone else has pings <200 so it is defiantly an issue with my connection as opposed to server side.
