Trouble with outgoing e-mail

I have my iPhone 3G setup to download e-mail from my Comcast and Yahoo e-mail accounts. That part works without a problem. The problem is when I try to send emails with either account using the iPhone - I keep getting error message to the effect of "Cannot Send Mail The sender address was invalid." How can that be if I am receiving the email without difficulty? So far out of 3 messages I was only able to send one successfully - even that one would not send for the longest time but only eventually it was able to send - I have no idea why.
Any thoughts or input would be much appreciated.

    Hello Sue,
I have an iPad 3, iPad Mini and iPhone 5S and they are all sluggish on capitalisation using shift keys. I hope that Apple will solve the problem because it is driving me crazy.
I find using a Microsoft Surface and Windows 8 phone, which I also have, work as well as all the ios devices before the ios 7 upgrade.
It has something to do with the length of time that you need to hold the shift key down. The shift key needs to be held longer than the letter key for the capitalisation to work. For some reason, this is a major change in the way we have learnt to touch type on computers. I am having to relearn how to type!

  • I am having trouble with comcast e mail using safari

I am having trouble with xfinity e mail using browser, SAFARI

I too had this issue. I was recently an employee and user of Comcast and they do not support Safari. Some functions work, many don't. I used Firefox and had no issues. I also set up my mail using MAC MAIL and didn't have any issues with that.

  • Having trouble with First Class mail

I'm trying to use my email at school (Benito Juarez Community Academy) and also set up Gradespeed but having trouble with both.
In composing mail, the screen will only accept a line or so and no more. I can mail that but message is incomplete. Also, can't get into Gradespeed. All I get is a multicolored pinwheel that is a security check but never stops spinning.

  • Mail trouble with outgoing mail server

For weeks now (relatively recent), MAC mail will not send consistantly. When I choose my outgoing mail server in the preferences panel and check "use only this server", Mail often will not send my message. If I leave that outgoing server as "none", my first outgoing message of the day will prompt me to choose one, and then subsequent messages are sent without asking. Inconvenient at the least - something's not right.
    Any help?

    Thanks for response.
I have deleted ALL accounts (to start fresh) but the unused outgoing servers 'refuse' to leave
I want to delete them to keep things tidy, also I have issues with using alternate outgoing server (next issue), so trying to start from the beginning again, before attempting to address next issue.

  • Trouble with outgoing mail server

When I try to send gmail I get an error message 'your acc does not have a preferred outgoing mail server'? I've had this before but can't remember what to do.Thanks.

Who is your ISP? Normally they provide you the information you need when you sign up with one, i.e. user name and password, email address, smtp server address, pop and imap server addresses, authentification requirements, etc.
If you haven't got that information to hand it's normally available with a quick Google search.

  • Having trouble with outgoing email settings

I'm sure this has been asked a million times but am having trouble setting up again following a hard reset, shame the PC suite backup doesn't save these settings but that's another story..
What I have is, other than my personal details for my account..
Outgoing mail server: smtp.o2.co.uk (I have a yahoo maill account but the only way i've ever managed to get this working is to use the smtp server of my carrier, i.e. o2). have also tried smtp.mail.o2.co.uk
Accesss point in use: o2 active
    security: SSL/TLS
    port: default.

  • Problems with Outgoing e-mail on E75

I set up a new e-mail account on my new E75.  It successfully created the account and is able to receive all incoming mails.  Nevertheless, every time I write a new e-mail message it sends a message saying "Message Queued" and display the icon of the Outgoing folder.
It does not send any e-mail.  I checked and re-checked all the parameters for the Outgoing server; cloned the same parameter as they are in MS Outlook in my laptop computer; played around with ports 110, 25 and 465; deleted and re-created the e-mail account time and again; and nothing!
    I'd appreciate any feedback.

hadimassa has got a point, but I think I'll be able to help:
Most of the SMTP servers allow "anonymous" incoming connections only from specific IP addresses (normally from the IP range which is owned by the operator) and if e.g. your broadband SMTP server is from different Internet Service Provider than your SIM-card, then the SMTP server will most probably reject your outgoing emails.
My suggestion is that you'll check with your SIM card provider which is the SMTP server address which you can use. This information can most probably be found from your operator's web page or by calling their customer support.

  • Trouble with MSN and MAIL

I know this question has been asked in various forms, but I cannot import my MSN mail into the Apple MAIL client. I downloaded the "httpmailtiger_universal1.49.dmg" and was able to SUCCESSFULLY import my Hotmail account. But I also have an MSN.com account and it's real important that I can import and utilize both from the Apple MAIL client. I don't know if I am not filling out the "outgoing server" or "incoming server" correctly. I also looked at my HOTMAIL account settings (which is working just fine) and tried to match those settings except with MSN.com extensions and it is still not importing. I just get that silly triangle with an exclamation point!
    Thanks for any help.

Both Mail and Safari appear to be corrupted on my llate 2008 macbookpro using snow leopard 10.63. mail will not send and entries typed into safari pages cause the page to jump around.. Is there any way to reinstall those programs from my operating system disk? Alternately can i reformat the hard drive  I am backed up to Carbonite as well as time machine
    Thanks

    YUP!
You can custom install both apps from the DVD that came w/your computer.  Both should either be inside the Bundled Software or the Applications folders.  Follow the onscreen  instructions for custom install.  After the installations, you will need to use Software Update to update both apps to its current/latest versions for your OS.

  • Trouble with Gmail on Mail 5.3

I haven't been able to get Mail to work properly on my computer. I've been through all the different options and all, even took it to the Genius Bar today and no luck.
For some reason the outgoing mail works but there seems to be a problem with the incoming. The error message I get says "Mail was unable to open this mailbox on the server imap.gmail.com" "The server returned the rror: Systerm error (failure)"
Two step varification is off on my Gmail account and the username/password are both correct. Both Imap and POP are enabled.
Has this problem been seen before? I'm clueless and so was the guy trying to help me today at the Apple store.
    Thanks,
    Jordan

It's a known issue Google is working on:
'imap.gmail.com is not responding' error when retrieving mail via IMAP, mobile device, or tablet
We are aware of an issue where users are receiving an error that '"imap.gmail.com" is not responding' when using IMAP on their computers, mobile devices, or tablets. We are currently working on resolving this issue.
In the meantime, you can sign in to Gmail through a web browser. For Android and iOS users, you can also download the Gmail application in the interim.

  • Does Apple mail have trouble with AOL E-mail addresses?

When I send E-mail to an AOL E-mail address at least 50% of the time I get this annoying “Delivery Notification” failure crap messages back.
I just copy and paste my original message and I keep sending it until I don't get that crappie message back anymore.
Does anyone else have this problem? If so, did you figure out how to fix this problem?
    Thanks.

I had a bit of trouble sending to AOL in the past. It seemed most often when my email addy had the word MAC in it.
My ISP is Macace, and they would frequently get returned. If I used my throwaway yahoo account all was fine. I thought it was somehow linked to how mail.app did things so I went in and did a test via webmail. The email still got blocked.
Do AOL not like Macs? Who knows what is going on. They have a Mac version of their software so it shouldn't be.
