Trouble with Phone

Right. We moved from Orange thank god to BT less then a month ago, received home hub and phone. I set it up, everything worked great, 8mb phone worked ok.
About a week ago, our hub/phone were messing up. If we ever accepted a call and put the phone down all the hubs lights would start flashing. As well as picking up the phone to dial a number. There was dial tone but the hub would then i think restart.
Now, our original phone number doesnt work properly. At first it wouldnt work at all, people would try to ring but got nothing. Then people could ring and we heard it ring, but when we answered it nothing happened, it stopped ringing but couldnt here anything so would have to put the phone down.
So I got someone to ring the BT Broadband phone number, but it wouldnt work.
However now the BT Broadband Phone thingy mobob does work. We can receive calls and make calls fine, but not using our original number.
Also since the problems the internet speed peaks at 1mb (any time of day) and when our original phone number worked there was a TON of line noise. 
Now i have done everything, restarted the hub, reset the settings, change the filter, plugged another phone in and out of everything, phone line, filter, hub. The extra phone gets no dial tone where ever its plugged but the broadband calls work fine.
I rang up the tech guys and they think its a problem with the hub so are sending a new one tomorrow, but i doubt this will fix the problem.
I cant do a line check as we have no way of connecting to another network as you cant be using it. what can i do?

    I've figured it out. You must have added the mail account after that your contacts are not appearing. Goto contacts settings choose the default account 'iCloud'. If u wanna see your missing contacts then goto contacts then press 'groups' tab at the top left corner the select all groups. Your missing contacts re actually saved in one of email account you have added. In order to bring them to icloud you have to add them again after selecting icloud as default contacts account. I hope this would have solve your problem.

  • Trouble with phone line

    Phone line has been dead since Saturday, had my kids birthday party so didnt realise till very late and was also away on Sunday so phoned yesterday morning and was told that there was nothing wrong with my line. However, it said all day yesterday and now(bt.com finally working after being down all day)that they were looking into a fault and it was still open. Phone line still down, have to turn internet off for them to trace fault so how am i supposed to get intouch with anyone?? Need phone line as I have no mobile apart from hubbys who has it in work so there is problem with my kids in school, they cant get hold of me. I know bt engineer was working on corner of my road on Friday afternoon so dont know if all this is connected as didnt actually use my phone Friday at all. Where do I go from here?? Line makes ringing tone if you are phoning you can hear as normal but the phone isnt ringing outobv because the line is dead, please help

    Have you done any checks on your line to locate if the fault is not within your premises?
    If you go back through the automated system does it say where the fault is located and does it give you an estimated response time?

  • Trouble with phone ever since Denim update on Lumi...

    Ever since my phone did the latest update, it has a mind of it's own.  Cortana pops up for no reason, it freezes, and sometimes it acts like someone else is in control of my phone, opening apps that I didn't even touch, sliding the screen up and down.  I am really getting frustrated with it.  I even did a factory reset on my phone and it is still doing the same things, if not worse.  Sometimes I have restart my phone 5-6 times in a row to get it to act 'normal' for at least a few minutes. Has anyone else been having these problems?

    This problem has been reported numerous times on multiple sites and there is no resolution that I am aware of. Have tried it all. Lumia recovery, reduce sensitivity, disable background apps, disable glance screen etc etc. There are a fair number of users stating that this started after update so either we are all extremely unlucky to have hardware faults occur at the same point as an update or this is a software issue. Seems to me that there are too many people reporting this at point of software update for it to be a coincidence. Also its so random, sometimes get a few hours with no issues and others freezes several times an hour. Often putting the phone to stand by and back fixes the issue so not sure how this could be a problem with the digitizer. I love windows phone OS but this is the first phone I've had in a long long time to have problems and it has seriously put me off buying another keep hoping an update will be released to fix this but nobody seems to have any idea what is causing this so not very hopeful on that. Again there are far too many reports of this for it to be considered the users fault and yet they want us to pay to send it away. I've taken very good care of my phone and it doesn't have a mark on it so if this is a hardware issue it must be a design flaw. Totally gutted and my phone is barely useable at times.

    Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

    My wife and I share apple id but have our own phones, and now having trouble with imessage. Sharing calenders, apps, music, contacts, etc...all great. But when we imessage each other. Our phones get confused and either not deliver message, or send it to and from itself.

    Go to Settings > Facetime and you will see "You can be reached for video calls at:"
    This should list your phone number (iPhone) and your email address (probably the gmail one).
    And then an option for "Add another email..."
    Choose that and enter your @me.com account and it'll send a verification email.
    Same for iMessage: Settings > Messages > "Receive at" > Add Another Email
    So you can be called by facetime and use iMessage through multiple email accounts yes.

    System data is the OS or operating system.  That is where the recovery stays separated from the rest of the storage so that it doesn't get corrupted.  It is not accessible and non-movable.

    You can't. It still thinks that your iPhone is synced with another iTunes library (the one that you had before you reformatted the hard drive.

  • Trouble with calendar and events populating phone

    I am having a significant amount of trouble with getting my phone to populate my calendar and my events.  I have had trouble with this since I got my phone at the end of April and I am getting tired of it.  If i put new calendar entries in on my local calender or I sync from my active sync calender, the result is the same - nothing will show.  The strange thing is is that the reminders will open up, everything is invisible to me.  I've reinstalled the software and have been through the settings on my calender accounts.  I am a business person and this is very important to me and I am starting to get frustrated with this. 
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Ok, I finally figured it out or better I finally got it to work after playing with it. For those who have the same issues I will give you the steps I have taken. It might sound a bit senseless but I didn't know what I was doing might actually make it work.
    Anyways, I read somewhere that in order to be able to set a default Calendar in Settings they added a CalDAV account. I didn't have one but I do have a gmail account. Before adding that I tried again turning on and off the iCloud calendar which didn't help.
    Then I went to the ical app on the iphone and added a new calendar which I called the same as my main one on the iCloud site (HomeCloud). I rebooted the phone every time I made a change. But didn't help either.
    Then I deleted my iCloud account on the iphone reboooted and added it again, rebooted. Now the "Calendars" calendar was not on the iphone anymore but I could see my main HomeCloud, my UK Holiday and the gmail account calendar but nothing was synced.
    Last step I tethered the iphone to my imac and synced via iTunes again and voila I could see everything synced correctly. Last thing I had to uncheck the gmail calendar on the iphone because it was set as the default and now the events I put in the iphone sync correctly with the iCloud site and my icals on my machines.
    I hope this will help whoever has the same issue.

    Well I am feeling a bit silly now because that was all I had to do. In the past Workgroup Manager had always opened right up to the list of my users, I never even thought to click on that but apparently that was all that was needed.
    I still am not sure how the iChat Server preferences changed themselves on me, but it is not the first time I have had weird "settings" issues with our Snow Leopard Server.
