Trouble with Pro Application Support 4.0.1

Question

I'm running FC Studio 2 on a G5, OS X 10.4.10.
After installing this update the following problems:
Aperture won't launch
Qmaster won't launch
Batch Monitor won't launch
...that's as far as I went...
Eventually replacing ./System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ProKit.framework with my backup version cured the problem.

If you don't have a backup you can download an older copy and install following instructions provided by member hilofoz.

This involves permissions changes you may not want to make.
Another option, which is preferable, is to use Pacifist and your FCS 2 installer DVD.
This will install with correct permissions.
Use Pacifist to open the "Install Final Cut Studio" package alias.
When asked to insert "Audio Content 1" choose Skip.
FInd "Contents of ProAppRuntime.pkg" in the list.
Twirl down disclosure triangle.
Go to System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ProKit.Framework
HIghlight this "ProKit.Framework" folder and choose Install from the top of the Pacifist window.
When" Install Prokit.frsmework" opens make sure "Use Administrator Privileges" box is checked.
Click install.
Choose "Replace"
A window will open with "FIle Already exists"
Click the box to choose "Don't ask again ..."
Click on "Replace"
When installation is finished, close Pacifist, unmount you DVD, and repair disk permissions.
You're done.
