Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Try using a USB2 port. If you are already using a USB2 port disconnect any USB1 devices on that port (i.e. if it's got a hub on it).

    Hello jessbae3,
It sounds like you would like to transfer music to your iPod nano.
Use the steps in the following article to sync content from iTunes on your computer to your iPod (I wasn’t sure if you were using a Windows computer or a Mac, so I included the respective articles for each):
iTunes 11 for Windows: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad

  • Problem with putting music onto my iPod

    Hi,
Recently I,ve been having problems with putting music on my iPod. Anytime I click to sync my iPod so I can put new songs onto it the songs never show up. Plus all the playlists in the playlist section on my iPod are all repeated over and over again(theres more than one). Theres no problem with my USB ports as I,ve tested them with other MP3 players and theres also nothing wrong with my cable as it shows up on my PC as connected. I,ve also resetted it! I just don't understand whats wrong with it I also have it fully charged when I'm trying to put the songs onto it.
    Can anyone help please?!!!

This Apple knowledge-base article may help address that issue.

  • I need help with putting notes on the ipod nano!!!!... HELP!!!...

I have no clue how to even go about putting notes on the ipod nano but i allways get lost!!! I just got it and i need some big time help !!!
    thanks so much

1 - Ok, to put notes onto your nano, you'll first need to enable it for disk mode. When it's plugged in, go into iTunes, and open up iPod preferences. Check the "Enable disk use" box.
2 - In your Windoze file browser (what you click on files in), locate your iPod, which should be located in My Computer. Open that up, and locate the notes folder. That is where you can put any notes, in the form of text files, that you want.
3 - Make the notes. iPods only recognize plain text and html files. So, when you open the text file up in a word processor, make sure to save it as a plain text file (.txt extension). Then, just drag it onto your iPod.
In disk mode, your iPod will need to be ejected before you unplug it from your computer. Right click on it (in your My Computer folder) and click "Eject"

  • . I am new to IPods. I have a Classic 160GB and I can't figure out how to load my music videos to it. I have had no problem loading my music CD's but no go with the music videos I have. Please HELP. Thanks maxsdad

    Hello:
I am new to IPods. I have a Classic 160GB and I can't figure out how to load Music Videos to iTunes or the IPod. I have had no problem loading my CD's to iTunes and to the IPod, but no go on the Music Videos.
    Please Help
    maxsdad

    B-Rock:
Ok. Here's the results. I tried all the music videos I wanted to put onto the IPod and the results were:
I was able to get good results with 2 full length music videos and 2 video singles(only 2 videos on each disk). For a total of 4 videos.
I was able to encode 5 full length music videos, but the results were distorted (video and audio).
I was unable to copy 2 full length videos due to error failures. 1 was a "No Title Found" error, the other was a "NAVDAT" error.
I guess my next question is: Do you know of any other program(s) that I might try, to see if I can get good results with the videos that didn't work with Handbrake?
Thanks again for all your help.

  • New ipod nano with problems: Is my new ipod nano ejecting correctly?

My new 4th gen. ipod nano was doing all sorts of wacky things with the sync disconnection process like requiring a manual eject when it shouldnt do that (enable disk use and manual music checkboxes were not checked) so I had to restore it and now I am not sure if it is completely fixed so could you please tell me if the process below is the normal disconnect process when a sync concludes on an ipod nano 4th gen:
    1. In itunes, display at top of window says, "ipod sync is complete", but it does not show "ok to disconnect" underneath that like when I sync my iphone.
    2. On the ipod nano display though, it says a brief "Ejecting-You may now disconnect" and then turns into a progress bar that lasts for about 10 seconds and says "OK to disconnect" next to it, then after the progress bar completes, it goes to the normal ipod menu home screen.
It seems to me that it should say OK to disconnect in the itunes window and then in the nano screen it should immediately return to the home screen just like it does with my iphone.
So, is my ipod now operating normally or is it still buggy?
    Thanks for your help!

Are you clicking the little eject button that is next to the name of the ipod in iTunes?

  • Transfering music to new ipod nano

I am trying to select the new ipod in Itunes so that I can transfer music to my new ipod. Normally there is a small ipod icon on the top right hand side of itunes, but that icon disappears when I try to select it with my mouse. So, I unpulg the ipod and repulg it and the ipod icon reappears and then disappears again as soon as I try to access it again. How do I fix this?

That's odd...  It may be easier if you select the iPod from the sidebar.  From the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  Find the iPod in the sidebar, under DEVICES.  Click it to select it.

  • Sync music to new iPod Nano

I recently purchased a 7th generation iPod Nano to use while biking.  I have not been able to transfer the music from my account to the device.  How do I do that?

If you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these steps:
    1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
    2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
    3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.
If you didn't purchase them through Itunes, then you'll have to download software that will strip the songs from your iPod Nano. And here is a guide about how to sync music from iPod nano back to computer. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

  • How do I put music on new MP3 player please

<FONT face=Garamond color=#cc0066 size=4>hello, received my new creative zen nano plus MP3 GB player today, looked forward to getting it before my holiday, it arri'ved, thought I would have Music on it by now but NO.
<FONT color=#cc0066 size=4>For the life of me - I can't do it. I have spent all afternoon doing it and driving me nuts now.
<FONT color=#cc0066 size=4>PLEASE help...... I looked at the intructions, but still no.
<FONT color=#cc0066 size=4>I have them ripped from CD, in WMA and also in MP3. Then moved them to Library. Then dragged them to F: creative zen folder. I viewed the folder and saw them, removed the MP3 player from USB port and when I looked at music symbol using scroll it said no recording.
<FONT color=#cc0066 size=4>Fed up with it already. Need advice......also is if I get there, is WMA better then MP3

This is what you find in the FAQ's:
? Should I use the WMA or MP3 format?
WMA is better at lower bit-rates, 64-28 kbit/s, where disk space is more important than sound quality.
MP3 (encoded using LAME) is somewhat better than WMA when encoding at higher bit-rates, 92+ kbit/s. This should be used when sound quality is more important than disk space.
Ultimately it's important to try some different bit-rates with both WMA and MP3 for yourself, and see if you can tell the difference. The only caveat is that over time it becomes easier to hear artifacts that low bit-rate compression uses.
If you need more information, try google: "mp3 vs. wma".
