Trouble with restoration process

After updating my ipod i found that all the files had been deleted off of it somehow. after copying my entire itunes library to it again, it still claimed the files were not there, so i decided to try restoring it---the restoring process has been goin on for 13 hours--is this normal?

Restoring the iPod shouldn’t take any longer than a few minutes.
First of all, try clicking on the little x in the top corner. Sometimes the updater gets stuck and needs a nudge to the next stage.
If this doesn’t work, shut down the computer, disconnect the iPod, restart the computer, run the updater again, and connect the iPod when prompted.

Trouble with restoring an iPhoto library from a time machine backup.

I'm having trouble restoring my iPhoto library from a time machine backup.
I have created a new library in my pictures file.
When I try to restore the library the restore process is trying to copy it to an external drive that no longer exists - it failed and I had to have it recovered and all the recovery (including backups) data is now on a different external hard drive.
iPhoto had been using that old external drive location to start. iPhoto is now pointed to the newly created iPhoto library in my pictures file on my MacBook Air.
Is there a way to have the restoration process point to that new iPhoto library that is now empty and not to the old external drive?

You might try this with the restored library:
Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
1. Open the library package like this.
2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
Note: your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

Having Troubles With Restoring Refurbished iPhone 4.

I have just received a refurbished phone as my iPhone 4 went for a swim. Now I am trying to restore my phone through iTunes, and after three tries its still saying my phone needs to be restored. My contacts have transfered but none of my apps will and it doesnt give me any sync button or anything. After I go through the whole restore process, iTunes says yet again "This computer has previously been synced with an iPhone or another iOS device." Then gives me an option to either set it up as a new phone, or restore from back up. What am I doing wrong?

Anyone have any ideas what I could do?

Troubles with restoring Backup T60

Hey People,
This morning i woke up very happy but it wouldnt last long.
As i started my laptop it gave a error claiming it could not find some kind of file nessecary to run windows
So i figured let's restore the system. but first let's put my documents and media save..
So i connected my external HD (WD Element) and it recognized it as a local HD and i was able to put my files away.
and started the factory restore process
But when i came home from work i couldnt see any of the files i had backed up?
Anyone knows what to do?

Firstly, sorry. I forgot to say that the iPod must we switched off before you do this - my apologies. Secondly, It restores the iPod to factory settings i.e. no apps. But, iTunes will the say if you want to restore the iPod from a backup. This is fine as iTunes does NOT reapply the jailbreak if you are restoring to a backup from the period where your iPod was jailbroken.

Trouble with restoring Ipod in disk mode

So i have a 30GB Ipod video that i am having trouble restoring.
I have reset it and it goes to the sad face with the exclamation mark. I have gotten it in diagnostic mode and it looks like everything scans okay. I then ran it in disk mode and it shows the white page that it needs to be restored. Then it flashes "okay to disconnect" for a few seconds and the "do not disconnect"
Its hooked up to my laptop and have used mutliple USB ports. It gets recognized under my devices and has the double chime noise that windows makes. I right click onto the ipod to troubleshoot but nothing gets detected. The problem is i only have about 1 minute while its it disk mode and it says "do not disconnect" before it restarts.
what can I do (if anything) to make it stay longer in disk mode. I have itunes open (which I have reinstalled multiple times) but it never pulls up ipod as the source or lets me sync it.
So if i bring it to the genius bar how much to they charge just to look at it. I wonder if you thinks non repairabe that i should just put that money towards a new one.

After recharging it for at least 2 hours, do the iPod Disk Diagnostics, as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem but helps in troubleshooting.
There are 3rd Party iPod service clinic, that do free evaluation, just google for one in your Area.

Having trouble with restoring factory settings

attempting to restore my factory settings and erase my data transfered from my old Imac G5.......tried to complete this in disk utilities, but wont allow me to erase the disk..someone mentioned installing the OS X disk....however my computer came preinstalled and i dont see a disk in the box...

All G5s came with install discs. Call AppleCare and request replacement discs. You can't repair/erase a disk's volume when booted with it.

Trouble with restored disk after HD failure

My HD failed and I restored it using a backup from time machine (complete reinstall using the CD) Now, when I move something to the trash it asks for my password. When I move folders the changes don't stay made when the machine is restarted. So far I have:
1. repaired permissions both from the desktop and from the original install disk.
2. verfied disk...volume is OK
3. Trashed the com.apple.finder.plist file.
Still having the same problems. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Reading this thread here you may have a permissions issue with your Home folder. If that is the case then Kappy's post in this thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10675415&#10675415 detailing how to reset the permissions on your Home folder should help (obviously substitute your own name where required).

Trouble with restoring iPod Classic

I have a 30GiG Apple iPod classic, that is just failing to restore.
I have restored it 4 times, and each time the same pop up comes up "iPod is in restore mode"
I just keep restoring it over and over.
Has anyone else ever had this issue?

Trouble with connecting to an App and restoring In App Purchases

I am having trouble with restoring my in app purchases. I had purchased the full season for crazy night out a while back but when I got the app again after restoring the app the full season wasn't on and it is trying to charge me for it. I had also bought the fantasy date app and the multipacks and unlike crazy night out it recognizes I made the purchase but when I click restore purchases or buy pack it won't download and it says can not connect to server and for me to check my settings and try again also for the ones I do have that were free when I click play or download all videos it says it can't connect to servers and the videos don't play. Is there anything I can do to retrieve these purchases back and get the videos to play.
It's not the Internet everything else works.

Help with batch processing

Hi, I am having trouble with batch processing. I want to apply adaptive noise reduction (ANR) to several files from the same source tapes. So, following the help instructions, I create a script from one file. When I try to apply it to the other files, instead of applying ANR to them, it simply saves them as is. The steps I perform are as follows:
I select the entire wave (I have also tried it without first selecting)
I open the scripts box in the file menu
I click on open/new script collection and create a new script
I title the new script
I click 'record'
I close the scripts box
I run ANR on the file
I go back to the scripts box and click 'stop current script'
I click add to collection
I close the scripts box
I open the batch processing box
I select the files, then the script, then I click to start processing
When I try to apply this to script to other files, it saves them but doesn't apply ANR.
Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong? Also, in the scripts box, there are three options for the type of script that I can create. One is highlighted: 'Scripts start from scratch.' Is that the correct one to use? If not, how do I select one of the others? I click on them but nothing happens. Finally, when creating a script, do I save the file before or after clicking 'stop record'? I have tried it both ways but don't know which is correct (neither seems to make a difference).

This is what my script looks like. Although I was worried about the strange characters in the script, it does work.
Make sure that the script you use is suitable for the sample rate and bit depth of the file. E.g. if you have 44100/32-bit files, then don't use a script that was recorded on a file with e.g. 48000/16-bit. If required, resample or make different scripts for different rates/depths.

Mt computer has been freezing up on me lately and I think it messed up my Ipod when it quit right in the middle of downloading and got shut off.

That's because you jailbroke your phone. You can't get help here.
