Trouble with the printer PLEASE HELP!!!!
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me. I work at an elementary school and I was recently trying to set up one of our iMac computers with a new printer. The printer is a HP LaserJet 1320. I installed all of the drivers from the disk into the computer and it told me that I had to set up the printer in the "Desktop Printer Utilities" file. When I went to do that I found that there was no such file in the system. I was wondering if there was a way of getting the printer to work. And if so I need detailed instructions so that I can set up the printer properly for the teacher. PLEASE HELP

Welcome to Apple's Discussions.
I believe they are referring to Desktop Printer Utility, which is a program, not a file. It is one of the standard OS 9 utility programs installed by default. Try doing a search on your hard drive for it - note that the spelling of its name is a bit different than the one you gave.
If it is indeed missing, you can use the utility TomeViewer to extract (expand) any files you want from an Installation Tome on an OS 9.x Install CD or download disk image, without running the installer.
How to use TomeViewer
The item Desktop Printer Utility can be found in the Installation Tome located here on an OS 9.0.x Install CD - (CD) >> Software Installers >> System Software >> Mac OS 9 >> Installation Tome.
Note that this requires the use of an original OS 9 disk named Software Install, or a retail OS 9.0 or 9.0.4 Install CD.

thankyou andyTry closing the Camera app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Camera app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Camera app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset (unless this is what you mean by powering off and restarting) : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
Having trouble with I-Tunes, Please Help!!!!!!!! New User
Hi, im having continous problems with i tunes im a new user and im finding very hard to work out how me and my girlfriend can use i tunes with different i pods. Im sure their is a way we can use the same program without having to keep deleting each others music and adding it all over again. Can someone please advise how we can both use i tunes from the same program/computer and have our own library of music without the others music be downloading onto the wrong i pods.

Thanks AlexThere are basically two ways of using multiple iPods on a computer and these involve:
a) Sharing a single iTunes library and user account.
b) Creating multiple user accounts and having separate libraries.
Sharing a Library
If you want to share the one library, you can set either or all of the iPods so that they only get updated with only certain playlists (you can update from more than one if you wish):

Choosing the update option "Sync Music - Selected playlists" allows you to create a playlist specifically for the iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used some other time if you choose. Or you can choose to update any or all of the iPods manually and just drag whatever content you want to them: Managing content manually on iPod
Loading the iPod shuffle differs slightly but it can still be used with the others, for details have a look at this page:

Separate User Accounts
Another option is to create a separate User account for each person on your PC or Mac. Different accounts by definition would give you completely separate libraries. Each account has it's own iTunes folder, Library and iTunes Music folder and you load it with CDs etc just as you did with your original one. The iPod can be set to update however the owner chooses, sync all, manual or sync specific playlists -

Terminal -> Shell -> New Command... ->
copy and paste this command into the new command dialog box and look at the results
/bin/ls -l .bash_profile .bash_login .profile .bashrc
You may get output such as:
-ls: .bash_login: No such file or directory
-ls: .profile: No such file or directory
-rw-r--r-- 1 raharris staff 31561 Sep 5 18:13 .bash_profile
-rw-r--r-- 1 raharris staff 58026 Nov 17 11:39 .bashrc
If all 4 files come up No Such File or Directory, it is not a bad shell initialization file
If you do have one of these files, such as my example .bash_profile, then you need to move it out of the way
Terminal -> Shell -> New Command... ->
copy and paste one of the following commands into the new command dialog box to move the selected shell initialization script out of the way
/bin/rm .bash_profile saved.bash_profile
/bin/rm .bash_login saved.bash_login
/bin/rm .profile saved.profile
/bin/rm .bashrc saved.bashrc
repeat for each script was found the above 'ls' command -
Can't sync my apps with the itouch. please help !

I have tried to find some info in regards to this but no real answer found, if you have a link to this as answered question i would greatly apprecaite it. ok here it is, i have had the itouch for about 7 days. i have tons of music and apps both free and paid from the app store. i have synced the phone numerous times but lately i noticed that it does not sync the latest applications from the computer to my itouch. i have restored/reformated my entire itouch twice this weekend in hopes of ractifying this issue, to no avail. all the apps load right the first time but then if i purchase a new app and sync the itouch it does not show up even tho it states installing/syncing '....' name of the app. i have no idea what to do any suggestions much apprecaited. thank youit is an itouch, i buy apps from the app store, they are purchased, they show up in my app section but when i try to sync them to my itouch they do not show up in on the itouch. i have tried to atuthorize and deauthorize the computer also few times, rebooted computer and still nothing. when i restore the firmware and have everything reinstall all over again the apps music and such, all show up. however if i buy a new app and try to sync it with the itouch it does not show up despite the fact that the computer states 'installing "......" whatever app. it happens with numerous apps, there is no rhyme and reason to why certain apps just do not show up on the itouch. the authorize/deauthorize deal does nothing to rectify the situtaion. any other ideas ?

Trouble With Audio PlayBack Please Help!!!
Ok, so i logg into itunes as usual and go to listen to a couple songs. When i click a song to play on it doesnt Play. Im Starting to get a little worried. So i exited out of itunes and then tried to open it back up. Once i clicked the icon a message popped up and said: itunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/vidoe playback may not operate properly.
So after that i knew it wasnt good. I then re-started my computer. Ended up that my whole entire windows xp theme has been changed. I ran a virus scan and it was clean...
So if anyone can help me please! I cant live withough music!!!

It takes 1+1 starts (the last time) or 111 before and 11+1+1+11 another.
But it will start up and it run well in 10.4.8 sometimes it crash (lately since the problem start never before) but other wise runs good.
I have looking into your other similar threads and don't since to unhesitant them well maybe mine is different i hope so.
Another thing they all end up on the logic board no before going to the OS 9 test(?) I may right.
Also my battery don't take charge anymore never used that much but is good to have it.
I hope you have the time to look at this thread and help me.

Unfortunately this error message is not good news. A common problem with Lombards is a failure of the L2 cache (cache memory) located on the microprocessor card. The 512K L2 cache will often appear/disappear in the System Profiler but nonetheless is still bad. The only fix is a replacement microprocessor card.

As far as starting up, usually pressing the power manager reset button on the back panel will allow a successful start.
When you buy a replacement, you must make sure it can run OSX with memory in the top slot. Frankly I don't know how you can be sure of this except to purchase the card from a vendor who guarantees his product. -

Trouble with iTunes 8 Please Help Me

The "From" column in my Yahoo! e-mail account is blank. I trouble-shot it with them to no avail and they determined it was probably an issue with Firefox. Please help it has been like this since Monday! Furthermore, it appears fine when I view my Yahoo! e-mail while using the Google Chrome web browser.
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

I keep getting the "Something went wrong" message on my Droid Razr HD also. I looked in my Settings, and I don't have a Cloud app - I have a Cloud Print app with nothing cached. This is making it nearly impossible to use the phone - please help! So far, this website has only made things more difficult.
The details you're providing are very helpful, Maj_Dad. With airplane mode enabled,
there would be no message because that disables celluar data. I would recommend
tying that mode with WiFi to see if it still happens. It sounds like this issue
has something to do with one of the applications on the device.

Unless you're talking about a carrier on this list, you're going to have to work it out with them. It's possible their network is just not compatible. They are definitely not a supported carrier.
