Trouble with Washington Post App

I love the layout of this app, but I can't get any of the video to play. It shows the initial picture each time, I see the loading progress, and I can even move the slider through the video to bring up new images. I just can't get the video to actually play. Anyone know what the problem could be?

I am watching Obama's Asian trip video with no problems. Have you tried the standard of resetting your iPad?
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    Their app is rated 17+ because of what you could potentially search with it, so if you have an app age rating set then it will be hidden.
    If you can't remember/don't know the restrictions code then do you know if it was on the iPad when you last backed up ? If not then you can restore to that backup and it should be removed. If it was on the iPad when you last backed up then the only way to remove it is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults and you can then re-sync your content back to the iPad - you won't be able to restore to the backup as that will keep the code in place.

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.     Not to worry, you're not the first to expect Print to finish by returning you to the edit mode. The thing is that Printing is so hit and miss with this version of the app, you will probably want to stay in the Print window for more than one attempt.

    You have to go into your Gmail account settings.
    Then Security.
    Then turn ON 2-Step Verification
    Follow the instructions to link a cell phone to your google account. They will text you a secondary code and once you've entered that your 2-step verification will be set up.
    Then you should have the option on the bottom of the page to add a device. Call it apple tv and then it will generate a secondary code specifically for your Apple TV.
    On the Apple TV itself, ultimately I think you have to enter just the first part of your e-mail address (before the @gmail.com) as your Youtube login username.
    Then you should enter your gmail account password.
    Apple TV will tell you it is incorrect.
    Then, retry and enter the long secondary password that google generated for the apple tv.
    That should do it.

  • Having trouble with the Air/app crashing after 3 or so hours on Win 7.

    Heya.
    I have been battling with this issue for a few days now, trying to debug what might be the root cause. The application is a reaction game with organic creatures and movement via Bezier Splines and some physics. It uses some really intense calculations while the game is running. Anyhow, the game is being ran on a dedicated machine with Win 7 and AIR installed. It should be able to function about 13-16hours in a row, since it is a part of a science centers show, and it should be touring europe in the near future as well. Needless to say having the app crash every few hours isn't really an option.
    So, after about 3 hours (checking from Win 7 error log) Windows notifies me that the application has stopped working and it just freezes the whole thing. I've been running it over nights to see when this error happens, and it seems to happen pretty consistently after around 3-4 hours of runtime with constant games. (having the game play itself)
    This is what Windows error log says

    Now from what I've tested from extended running of the game by itself, it doesn't leak memory, and it doesn't seem to throw any Flash based error at all. I set the Debug flag on the installed AIR app, and checked the trace log for any errors, there were none. Also no flash/air specific modal window about an error, only the Win 7 error about it stopped working.
    I am at a loss here, what could be causing this error? Any ideas on how to fix this? I would really appreciate it!

    If you get any form of strange behaviour from your BB then, with the power-on, remove the battery and leave it out for a couple of minutes.
    If that doesn't sort the problem then post again or use the search facility above.

    This could be a complicated problem to solve, as there are many possible causes for it. Test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Before proceeding, test on another network, if possible. That could be a public Wi-Fi hotspot, if your computer is portable, or a cellular network if you have a mobile device that can share its Internet connection. If you find that iMessage works on the other network, the problem is in your network or at your ISP, not in your computer.
    Step 1
    Check the status of the service. If the service is down, wait tor it to come back up. There may be a localized outage, even if the status indicator is green.
    Step 2
    Restart your broadband device and your router, if different. You may have to skip this step if you don't control those devices.
    Step 3
    From the menu bar, select
     ▹ About This Mac
    Below the "OS X" legend in the window that opens, the OS version appears. Click the version line twice to display the serial number. If the number is missing or obviously invalid, take the machine to an Apple Store or other authorized service center to have the problem corrected.
    Step 4
    Back up all data, then take the steps suggested in this support article.
    There are five steps in that article. Please take all of them. If you don't understand some of the steps or can't carry them out, ask for guidance.
    Step 5
    From the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences ▹ Network
    If the preference pane is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Then click the Advanced button and select the Proxies tab. If any proxy options are selected, make a note of them and then deselect them. You don’t need to change the bypass or FTP settings. Click OK and then Apply. Test. The result may be that you can't connect to any web server. Restore the previous settings if that happens.
    Step 6
    Reset the NVRAM.
    Step 7
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    If iMessage worked in the guest account, stop here and post your results.
    Step 8
    Boot in safe mode and log in. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and test again.
    If iMessage worked in safe mode, but didn't work when you booted out of safe mode, stop here and post your results.
    Step 9
    According to one anecdotal report, Flash Player may interfere with iMessage, though I don't know how and can't confirm. To test this theory, select from the menu bar
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Storage
    and click
    Block all sites from storing information on this computer
    Close the preference pane. If this action solves the problem, please post your results.
    Step 10
    Boot into Recovery and reinstall OS X.
    Step 11
    If none of the above steps resolves the issue, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or contact Apple  Support.

    There are a few ePrint apps out there on the app store. The one that you want to use is the ePrint Home & Biz app. 
    After you download and launch the app, press the "Register with HP ePrint" button at the bottom. It will ask you for an email address and you want to put in your personal email address. It will send you a PIN number to register the app. Since you are on an iPhone, all you have to do is click on the link in the email that says "Launch HP ePrint mobile app". It will open the app up and automatically register it for you. 
    After that, you will be able to use the app to print to your printer while your iPhone is connected to the same wireless network.
    If you have already created a ePrint email address, you can set it up to print while the phone is not connected to same wireless network.
    All you have to do is go into "Settings" button at the bottom of the app, select "Manage ePrinters", press the + button it the top right corner, and select "Add Manually". From there you can add your ePrint email address into the app and then you will be able to print from anywhere with your iPhone.
