Trouble with WEP setting up HP7410xi
I'm switching wireless routers and my HP 7410xi won't accept the WEP. My default WEP that came with router is 7 letters and 3 numbers and the error message says..."INVALID WEP KEY...Key must be 5 or 13 characters OR 10-26 length with 0-9 A-F (Hex)".
I have restarted the printer and the router as well as restored to wireless default.
Help!
You know that WEP is not in the least secure, right? Your printer should work with WPA.
Switch your router's settings to WPA and create your own password for it (use numbers and letters, upper and lower case - at least a dozen characters).
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

Hello !
I've got a real trouble with my dns configuration... and i can't understand! so, i need some help....
well, qutie newbie in mac os server, i run in on a G4, and i had not noticed any trouble until i've decided to run open directory as a master with LDAP, wanting to have a kerberos protection for the users.
Kerberos doesn't want to play with me !
I've been in console mode to have a look, and, actually i've seen this :
"Oct 17 11:31:08 wakan servermgrd: servermgr_dns: no name available via DNS for 192.168.0.109
Oct 17 11:31:08 wakan servermgrd: servermgr_dns: no reverse DNS entry for server, various services may not function properly"
Ok... my DNS has a trouble... but i don't know how to fix it ! Is there anybody in this world who can help me?
I don't want to have a real DNS for my little server... but i understand that my config is not good. I can understand that having a caching DNS can improve the quality of my config, and, in other hand that it is necessary for having the services of OSX server in an effeciant way, but i don't know the way and the parameters i've to put in my config to fix it.
Now, just some words on my config...
First, i've got an adress provided by my FAI (the frenchy workd for ISP, i think) is "193.252.209.135". This adress is set on a d-link modem router via PPOE. The DNS of my provider (wanadoo.fr) are 80.10.246.1 and 80.10.246.132.
After this there is my G4 With mac osX server.
• en0, the "extenal gate" and the internal ethernet on the computer is plug on the modem with the adress "192.168.0.109". the router is set on "192.168.0.1". the dns are 80.10.246.1 and 80.10.246.132.
• en1, the "internal gate" for the network, an PCI card in the computer, has the parameters : adress "192.168.3.1", subnet "255.255.255.0", router "192.168.3.1". no dns records. (no VPN service for the moment). After this, i've a switch for the macs behind the server. (without any link agregation)
All those parameters have been set by the gateaway assistant.
And now the parameters inside the admin server :
DHCP : en1 - adress from 192.168.3.2 to 192.168.3.254, name 192.168.3. no static card. Router 192.168.3.1. No name for domaine by defaut, name servers 80.10.246.1 and 80.10.246.132 No LDAP, no WINS.
DNS : No zone transfert, recursivity is ON. No zone records.
NAT : set on full, Transfert and Network Address Translation.
When i've been on the terminal, i had those information:
"wakan:~ st$ sudo changeip -checkhostname
Password:
Primary address = 192.168.0.109
Current HostName = wakan.local
The DNS hostname is not available, please repair DNS and re-run this tool."
All my "main" services are working fine (AFP, Firewall, DHCP, DNS, Update) Open Directory is running without Kerberos. By the way, all the macs after the G4server can have a corect access to internet, and share information via LDAP of Open Directory, but i've to say that, a couple of days later, a friend of mine, who has a PC computer, can't have a DHCP dynamic address when he plug on my little network. I think that it is an other trouble, and i've decided to have e look to this later... but if someone knows how to resolve it...
So here begins the nightmare for me... so if anybody can help me... i realy need some help to fix this mystery!!!
Special thanks! As the router modem is already doing NAT why use NAT in the server?
If you want to use OpenDirectory and other services you should/need to set up the DNS correctly using the server's private IP (and others in the same range the server is setup with). The domainname used internally can be different than your public one.
And then use the server as the only DNS for you LAN clients and the server itself. Forwarders (your ISP DNSes) in /etc/named.conf usually speeds up lookups of external addresses (also turning off IPv6 can help that too). -

Trouble with iPod setting screen
Right, Ive got all my music on my 5G 30gb iPod, the problem is, I also have a movie I want to put onto my iPod but Im not having much luck with it. I successfully coded the movie using HandBrake, and its currently under "movies" in my library. However, when I connect my iPod to my laptop, the iPod settings screen only brings up the Summary, Music, Podcasts and Contacts tabs. Also under the devices, it only has my iPod and its music. This does not give me the option of adding Photos, Movies or Games. I have iTunes 7.0.2 and Im sure the iPod is up to date because I only recieved it yesterday for Chrismas. Any ideas why and how I can get the Movies, Photos etc. under my devices and on my settings screen when the iPod is connected? Your help will be appreciated.

Trouble With Grub - Setting up Triple Boot
Before I had Arch running on my desktop, I was using Ubuntu with Vista on the same disk and XP on another one. When I moved to Arch, I backed up menu.lst to preserve the entries, and installed Arch over the same partition that Ubuntu was on.
However, after I restored the entries for Vista and XP, I wasn't able to boot to them. A few weeks ago I absolutely had to do some work under windows, so I swapped out my XP disk and installed Vista on it, which got rid of the grub install in MBR and I used vista for about a week. I reinstalled Grab after that, and wasn't able to configure grub to boot to the new disk that had vista on it, only to Arch.
I'm more or less at a loss as to what may be wrong with my entries, the locations are correct but it just doesn't boot them for some reason.
Here is the output of fdisk -l:

Make sure that you use (hd0,0), which is the first partition. Change the harddisk boot order in your BIOS. If you want to boot the second harddisk, this is the way to do it I suppose:
title Windows Vista 64

rootnoverify (hd0,0)
chainloader (hd1,0)+1

Congrats on your recent upgrade actionkatie! I am sorry to learn of the difficulties you are experiencing with your Samsung Galaxy S4. Let's get to the bottom of this because we want you to love your phone.
I understand you have done all necessary troubleshooting steps that should have enabled you to send messages to iPhone users without them having to disable iMessage. Have you tried contacting Apple Support regarding the inability to send a text message to iPhone users? Apple can be reached at (800) 275-2273.
In addition, do you get a certain error message when your WiFi stops working? Have you verifed that Auto Switch network is disabled? To disable this setting simply to go Settings > Wi-Fi > Tap the Menu Key(to the left of the home button) > Select Advanced and it is called `Auto network switch. If you are still experiencing difficulties, please feel free to reach out to us for further assistance.

Since downloading the new operating system on my iPhone 4S, I'm having trouble with my phone messaging. I enter a number or input a number from my contacts and send my message. I then receive a error message stating the message can't be sent and it shows a set of "1s" were added in front of the number I entered. Ex: 1 (1) xxx-xxx-xxxx. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it?
I realize this. When calling prepaid cus service it only gives you the option to input your #. If you dont the system hangs up on you. When I input my number the system doesnt recognize it and hangs up on me.

Trouble with setting up the network connection
I am having trouble with setting up my network connection on my new laptop, we use a telecom xtra broadband connection for our windows computers in the house. But when i try to put what i think is the right information in the set up it comes up with "network connection could not be configured"
Hi,
you can not connected to sap on 127.0.0.1 ip address it is loopback address for local host.
instead of give the ip address where sap is running.
if you running SAP on your standalone PC/laptop then you need to assign one ip address to that host
use this ip address to connect.

I am having trouble with my wife's new iPhone 5s. She can receive her telus email but can not send any email what did I do wrong in setting up her account on her iPhone? I tried to just copy the info from her old iPhone.
The sending of email is accomplished via the SMTP server. Take a moment to get back into Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars and select the account. Go to the SMTP server and check to make sure that username and password are entered in all of the appropriate places. If you cannot get it to work after trying to just change those settings, remove the account from the phone and recreate it. When recreating, make sure you enter the username and password in every location, even if the phone says optional. Make sure you have the settings from either the email provider or from the other device. Make sure that SSL is on or off as necessary.

Hi I am having trouble with iTunes! Randomly when I click on a song in iTunes it changes the song title to time after time and the artist is pink.
I could click on 4 songs and they will be normal but then the 5th one will change the info to time after time.
I haven't done anything different or new, it started doing it all of a sudden, well that I have noticed anyway. Please help.Hello Schimi. The Time Capsule is a kind of product that offer you two possibility:
- To use the TC as a router or as an external HD.
The difference between WPA and WPA 2 are:
- They are two kinds of internet connection.
WPA uses dynamic key encryption , which means that the key is constantly changing and makes the invasion of a wireless network more difficult than WEP . WPA is considered one of the highest levels of wireless security for your network and is recommended if your devices support this kind of encryption . Newer routers offer WPA2 security . WPA2 is compatible with WPA , but offers higher security level . In fact, it meets the high standards of many government agencies . If the router and computer support WPA2 , this should be your choice.
If you need any help or if you find some difficult setting up it you can contact Apple Support.
I am sure that they can help you with that.
I am sory for the delay. I holpe that you solve your issue. -
Wireless-Card doesn't not work with WPA/WPA2 but with WEP [Solved]
Hello I have a MacBook (late 2007) with a wireless-card from Broadcam, the card works with WEP and the classic configuration over rc.conf very well. But I can't get the card running with WPA and the net network-profiles.
