Trouble with windows XP

I recently tried to reinstall window xp in bootcamp. I reformatted C: and tried to re-install my windows XP with service pack 2. Every time I try to install it automatically ejects and says it cant find the installation disk. Any thoughts?

Hi,
that seems to happen with some XP CDs.
Have a look at frederic1943 solution in this thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2071417&tstart=105
Hope it helps

  • Trouble with Windows 8

I tried to post this before but there was an error. I hope I am not repeating myself. I recently purchased a new desktop with windows 8. When I edit a photo every few click of my mouse or touches of my pen tab, cause the image itself to black out as well as my background to change from gray to black to clear (checker board). Have not had the same problem on my lap top which has the exact same version installed on it. But the lap top is running windows 7. My desktop has an AMD Six-Core FX-6200 Processor, 10GB DDR3 Ram and an AMD Radeon 7570 graphics card. If anyone has had the same problem or has an easy-to-understand answer; I'm not very computer savy. I could really use your help. Thank you.

    Refer to this:
I can’t see my images and only get a black screen (or strange pattern).

  • Itunes trouble with windows 8

Since I got my new computer (HP Envy) I installed Itunes and everytime that I try to open the file it says it has encountered a problem and needs to close. I am running windows 8. I never had this problem with windows 7.

This came from another thread, but worked for me.  Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62 and Windows 8.1.  Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Divice Support, and Apple Software Update).  Reboot, and reinstall iTunes.  It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano.  Good luck.

  • Trouble with Windows Mail

I am having trouble establishing linking my Verizon e-mail account to Windows Mail.  I can set up the account, but get the error 0x800CCC90 incorrect password entered every time I try to sync.  I am using the same name and password that I use to access the Verizon Yahoo account directly.  Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Since you mention that it's a Verizon/Yahoo account, make sure that your servers are set to:
    Incoming (pop3): incoming.yahoo.verizon.net
    Outgoing (smtp): outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net
The normal Verizon pop servers won't work for accounts partnered with Yahoo. Hope this helps!

  • Trouble with Windows 7

We use business management software from EFI, which includes a "UserReports.exe" they built to launch Crystal reports with command line scripts from within their software. I, as the IT guy working with the end users, create the reports and everything has worked fine until we got a few Windows 7 machines. Now the Windows 7 users aren't seeing a "Printer..." button from within the printer setup window of the UserReports.exe viewer. They tried sending us a new UserReports.exe file, but it didn't work at all. I know the button issue is nothing you can help me with, but if you could confirm that, I'd really appreciate it. The main reason I am writing is because some people have suggested it might not be working because my Crystal developer software needs updated. I have Crystal XI and Crystal 2008. If the reports worked fine on XP machines, Windows 7 should be no different, right? Is anything I can do, any client-side runtime updates for the Windows 7 machines, anything at all I can do to rule out trouble on my end?

    Hi Ben,
Unfortunately you'll have to ask the makers of that software to debug this issue. We don't have it so it would only be guesses as to the cause.
This MS Kbase article may help, it's for WEB app but may be for Windows 7 also, I have the same problem in my test app, only System Printers return, no User Printers work. But my Windows 7 at home doesn't have this problem...:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;184291
Also, CR XI R2 SP 6 and CR 2008 SP 2 added Windows 7 support, if they are using runtime older than that they have to update their product.

  • Trouble with Windows 8.1 and hp officejet 8620

Hi, we've installed a brand new hp Officejet Pro 8620.
We've installed the full software package on a Windows 8.1 machine.
It all seemed to be fine, but suddenly our machine is not capable of print on certain circumstances:
    - It can't print from:
    a) Notepad: "incorrect parameter" error message
    b) Office: Word, Excel, etc...    no error, but it simply does not print
    c) Adobe Acrobat: no error, but it simply does not print
    d) Test print from printer configuration: error
    but it CAN print from:
    a) hp printer assistant, hp print scan and doctor (hp software)
    b) hp AiO printer remote (it's a Metro app), only pdfs
    c) Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc...
We've tried to reinstall the whole package with no success. It seems that's something's wrong with the driver and desktop applications, any ideas? Anyone with similar problem?
    Best,

    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Finally we've used the proposed solution on:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Networking-and-Wireless/Is-Windows-8-1-and-HP-8620-compatible/t...
The trick is drivers for 8600 must be downloaded and installed before the change. 8600 drivers included with 8.1 don't work.
We'll wait for new 8620 drivers that could fix this problem. Meanwhile, we can print with 8600 drivers, and scan with 8620 drivers.
    Best,
    JM

  • Trouble with Windows Media Player Plug-in

I've been having a very annoying trouble lately. I can't play any windows media streams even though I have windows media player 9 installed. I reinstalled it but still nothing. Has someone else had this problem? Do I need to install something else? What do you recommend me?
    2GHz MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    http://flip4mac.com
It allows WMP playback (most files) via QuickTime Player or its browser plug-in.
You'll need to use Rosetta to use WMP as it is over three years old and will never be made Universal.

  • Trouble with Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 x64

    Hello everyone
My system is in a very big mess. I'm using Ideapad y550 and recently I was hit by the continuous restart cycle. I updated my windows as usual and after a system restart as part of the update processs, windows just kept on restarting. "configuring updates part 3" and it would always be at 0%. Anyway, I searched the internet and came across a solution. I downloaded a Vista recovery disc (since Lenovo did not provide me with one) and went to command prompt and deleted a certain file that was causing this restart loop. Now, after that day I have been hit with more problems. Here
    1) windows does not update anymore. Always shows "searching for updates" and is stuck there forever
    2) "turn windows feature on/off" box is always empty.
    3) "sfc /scannow" does not work anymore. gives a "windows protection error" or something similar.
    4) I failed to install Microsoft Office 2010 as it gives this error "Error 1935 - HRESULT: 0x8007054F". I am stuck with no office application as I deleted office 2007 to install this and cannot do my university work!
    5) windows has gotten extremely slow.
ok that is a huge list, I know. Could someone please help me? I am really lost right now and going back to factory settings is not an option since I do not have backup. I'm ready to try everything to avoid that. Any ideas anyone?
Thanks so much for your efforts

clean windows installation will delete all the files you have on volume c:
i didn't suggest you to repair, cause i don't think it'll help, but you can try.
just use windows repair to save your personal files, after then perform clean installation not to have any other issue(s).

That pic is a little old, and my desktop is so much better than that now, but....
I cannot for the life of me remember what this unwanted window effect is called.  it happens when I drag my windows and I obviously cannot enable any desktop effects.
    Any words of wisdom?
A side note-  I have no idea how to generate log files.  I can access them and I know how to put them in a pastebin, but I have no idea how to actually get the full text from terminal (so if anyone can direct me to a decent .log-generation-how-to-wiki, that would be superb)

Your logs are generated automatically by your system as it runs - there is nothing further that you need to do. They are ordinary text files, so you can display them on a terminal using any of the usual tools - cat, less, grep, etc.

  • Trouble with windows after deleting Acrobat 9 Standard

After I delete Acrobat Standard 9, via the control Panel's Add/Remove Programs, I can no longer use any thing from the My Computer window (Windows XP).  No matter what I click on the hour glass appears and the workstation freezes,  I have to power down the workstation.  Even when this is done the issue does not go away.  I am forced to redo the desktop image.  This happens no matter which 9.0 update I have installed.  I have tried them all 9.1, 9.12 through 9.4.

I suspect that's not the problem, as I have no trouble selecting an area of any size I wish of images/objects most of the time.  The Select tool, at least in Acrobat 9, allows you to do this.

  • Troubles with Windows after installing Acrobat X

I built a Windows 7 machine from scratch twice and ended up with the same issue.  As soon as I install Adobe Acrobat X Standard, Windows Explorer freezes whenever I right-click on something in Windows Explorer (icon on desktop or inside folder).  I disabled the Acrobat Shell Extension but still have other problems.  I was unable to print anything to any of my printers.  If I right-clicked on a printer, it would freeze up again.  If I restarted the print spooler service, it resumed normal operation.  The first time I upgraded to the latest update (10.1.13) and had the same problem.  After the second reload, I left it at the default version 10.0.0.  I have the same problem either way.  I was able to remove all of the printers from Windows through registry and Windows System32 and recreated my printers.  I also recreated the Adobe PDF printer per Adobe's instructions on their website.  My initial tests proved successful.  But when my user went to try it, the "Creating Adobe PDF" window came up and he got about 3 bars and it froze.  I went in and tried printing some other PDFs, and it did create the files, but it would not let me delete the files.  It indicated that Acrobat.exe still had the file locked.  When I tried uninstalling Acrobat, it would stall part way through until I restarted the Print Spooler service.  I have also tried disabling the AntiVirus (SEP).
I have spent way too many hours setting up this PC 3 different times and troubleshooting this.  My gut says that there is a Windows update that may be interfering with this.  But I don't know where to start.  This worked fine on his previous machine (same version of all software.
I would appreciate any assistance.  Surely someone else has run into this before.  Thanks in advance.

    Hi William ,
Please perform the following steps .
    > Enable the hidden Admin Account on Windows 7 ( Ref :  http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-wi ndows-vista/ )
    > Disable all Non-Microsoft Startup Services. (Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html )
    > Disable all the Antivirus softwares like CA, Norton,Mc Afee etc. temporarily from the computer.
Reboot and try installing in the new enabled Admin user account and check

  • Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Gamer Card Trouble With Windows Vi

Hi, yesterday I installed vista and had no sound, I then updated the drivers for my Sound Blaster X-FI XtremeGamer Card and then the card was detected. The card says the drivers are working and that everything is fine yet I hear no sound, I have messed around with the options unmuting things but nothing seems to work, any help would be great. Thanks, Auro

Hi, im not tryin to insult ur intelligence but have u checked to make sure the sound is not muted in windows? for some reason my pc mutes the sound randomly when i turn it on (yes im running Vista 64...). This confused the beejesus out of me until i realised what was happening. Now im lucky if my pc actually starts up because of crummy xfi drivers and the BSOD but thats another rant entirely.....

  • Troubles with Windows 7 Enterprise and Web Dynpro for ABAP

    Hello together,
we've installed Windows 7 Enterprise and IE 8 and are using Web Dynpro for ABAP.
Since this installation on one Client, it is not possible to use the WD application - the sites seems to be frozen!
I know the fact, that SAP will support Windows 7 in March 2010 but it would be very helpfull if someone could give me a hint to solve this problem before.
    Thanks in advance,
    Andreas
