Troubled iTunes

When I burn some cds the numbering gets messed up. I don't know how to fix this problem.
Sincerely,
Troubled iTunes

If your CDs are burned in the wrong order, make sure that your titles in the playlists are sorted by the title number and not by title names or whatever. Just press the correct tab in order to rearrange your playlist.

  • IPhone DFU trouble: iTunes not detecting iPhone

I've just picked up a replacement iPhone 4 after experiencing faults with my previous handset. I went through the process of backing up my phone from my last iTunes sync, and was then prompted to update the firmware to 4.3.[whateverTheLatestVersionIs]. For whatever reason, that firmware update failed; there was an error code, but I wasn't switched on enough to note it down a the time (I know, I know...).
iTunes would no longer detect the phone, and the phone was stuck on the "Connect to iTunes" screen. So, I followed instructions to put the phone into DFU mode; this worked to a point - a Windows notification balloon popped up saying that Windows had detected an iPhone in DFU mode - so far so good. However, iTunes did not detect the phone. I have cycled in and out of DFU mode, restarted iTunes, restarted my machine and even shouted at the iPhone, but I've had no luck in getting iTunes to detect it.
Anyone have any suggestions? I'd get myself to a Genius Bar if I could, but won't be able to before I go away for a long weekend tomorrow night; I'd like to have my phone working for this if possible...
    Can anyone help?
    Setup:
    iPhone 4
    iTunes 10.4.0.80
    Windows XP Professional, SP3

Incidentally, the Windows balloon no longer pops up when I cycle in and out of DFU mode (although I am sure that I am managing to cycle in and out of DFU mode..)

  • How can i retrieve losr contacts and purchased music fron i tunes if my computer failed and now has none of these saved on my itunes to restore back on my replacement phone?

right, i was restoring my phone from back up last night as i got a new handset because of a defective screen and during the resore my lap top froze, so i had to restart it. then when i had done i could no longer restore from back up and only sync the phone,so i did and there was no music, photos, contacts or apps available from itunes to put back on my phone, where has this media gone? it must be somewhere surley?
    many thanks
    neil

Restarting your computer does not cause media to disappear.
Does your music, photos, apps still exist on the computer?
iTunes is not a photo or contact manager, so you would need to verify that those items exist elsewhere.
If you are solely reliant upon iTunes to backup your contacts, you may be in trouble.
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Do you have backup files in the above listed locations?
Seems to me that you have two issues:
    Content missing from iTunes
    Content missing from iPhone.
Once the first issue is resolved, then it will be very easy to resolve the second.

  • HT2463 Could the opening or closing of any of these ports be involved in an intermittent 8008 error in attempting to download iTunes movies to my Mac?

I've been working on an issue with two Macs and a PC with trying to download movies from iTunes, and the downloads were consistently stopping at about 1/3 of the way through the dowload, with error 8008.  When troubleshooting with the ISP in real time, watching the downloads, finally some of the movies downloaded, and others continued to stop, now at either the 1/3 or 2/3 of the data, still with error 8008.  I'm wondering if any of these ports not being open could be involved with this issue.

  • Download failed at itunes, redownload problem

I just purchased a song, got a notice that the download failed and to try again.  Went back, clicked "buy", respose was "previously bought-redownload free?" and I clicked yes...immediately got a notice that I must register the computer to "redownload".  Problem is that the same computer is the only computer I have associated with my account.  What do I need to do to get my purchased song downloaded.

  • Question with itunes

Alright lets see. I have like close to 3,000 songs in my itunes. When i was trying to click and play a song my computer was running slow so like a moron i kept clicking and before i knew it my itunes flashed and all of the little boxes next to all my songs became unclicked. If you know itunes then you know when a song is unclicked it wont play in shuffle or wont play enless clicked on manually. Now the only way i know how to click all the boxes is manually and id really rather not have to click all 2800, so if there is anyone who knows how to select them all, id really appreciate a reply or email to [email protected], thanks so very much.

Only Apple can answer that for you as this is a technical support forum that is mainly used by other users to attempt to help out. Other than the occasional Apple employee posting this forum is not monitored by Apple. Your best bet would be to contact Apple or talk to someone at the Apple store to see if they can answer this question for you.
    Good luck

  • Cant Burn CD's because of "Registry Settings" missing??

I have nano Ipod and have tried for hours to uninstall any CD-burning software from by computer as when I install it Ipod software on my computer it says "The Registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burnind CD's and DVD's are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall ITunes.
I have deleted the Sonic burner and reinstalled itunes 4 different times. What should I do. I want to put the songs on a CD to listen in the car.
    Please help me someone.
    Thanks

This really should have been posted in the "Using iTunes for Windows" section, but I can answer it for you. I noticed you list Windows ME as your Operating system. If you are using Windows ME, that is the key to all of your troubles. iTunes for Windows will not work with any version of Windows other than 2000 or XP. If you are using XP, you'll need to look into running a system file check to be sure that none of your Windows components have been deleted or damaged. (This usually requires your original Windows XP CD) Click Start>Choose Run, and type sfc /scannow in the "name" box, then hit Enter or click Run. This will scan your Windows files to make sure they are intact and operating properly. If any files are not in place or functioning, the SFC will ask you to put in your Windows CD so it can re-write them from the disc. I hope this helps.

  • Mac OS 10.5.4 - Nothing Opens, but it kind of does.

Hello, I just installed Mac OS 10.5.4, and after it rebooted and everything it most applications (like Safari, Mail, System Preferences, Software Update, iChat) will just bounce on the dock, open, then immediately freeze and close. I can tell because if i scroll up to the bar (with File, Edit, etc.) the spinning circle appears. Sometimes the system itself restarts.
On the other hand, applications work fine. Such as Firefox (without this I'd be in trouble) iTunes, iMovie, and Roller Coaster Tycoon 3.
    HELP!

didn't work. The computer started up and a window popped up, it said "Safe Boot" under the Apple Logo. but when i tried to type in my password, the spinning circle would appear, the screen would turn blue for a second, and then the window would pop up again. I tried this several times, but it failed every time. so i shut off the computer and i restarted without holding anything. I tried to install the disc, it said to hold "C" so i did when the computer was starting up. It asked what language I wanted (the disk was in the computer by the way) and i picked English. Then it said "Sorry, you cannot install Mac OS X on this computer," and then it went to the finder like it normally does. hmph.

  • Side by side setting

After installing the newest version of Quicktime Plsyer when I try to start the program I get the following error: The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application log for more details. I've unistalled and reinstalled both downloads available, with itunes and without and I'm getting the same error. One time I got another error saying to download a 64 bit version of Quicktime but all I see is the version I've been downloading for Vista & Windows 7. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Trouble Adding Folder to iTunes from HD

I've been a longtime iTunes user and love the program. Recently, I've purchased a couple CDs and for some reason, iTunes will no longer allow me to add files to my library. I ripped the CDs using Windows Media Player because I prefer to rip at a higher quality then allowed in iTunes. Then I go to iTunes and add files using the "Add Folder to Library" function. Most of the CDs worked, but when I tried to add the last CD's folder, iTunes showed the files being added, but then they were not added. I was confused and tried to add them again but they again did not add to the library. I went back and deleted one of the previous CDs from my library to see if that CD would then add, but iTunes did not allow this CD to add either. I decided to uninstall iTunes and reinstall it, but this also did not change this problem. Does anyone have any idea of what I am doing wrong here? All files are mp3 format and I've been using iTunes for a couple years now and I have not have had any trouble like this before.

I'm using the "Add folder to library" option in the File menu. No dragging or dropping involved. These files are also straight MP3s without any WMP protection. I have done this many times with many CDs and have never had this problem. iTunes will go through the process of adding files to the library, but when it is finished, the files are nowhere to be found.

Could be since it (security software) is listed as #5 in the following:
