Troubles after updating to iOS 7 - stuck restoring
I downloaded and installed latest iOS 7.0.2. Everything went fine and then I got the message that it failed and I had to restore the phone. Not happy about that,but went ahead and did that. But, it seems to be stuck in restore mode.
In iTunes my phone shows up, shows iOS 7.0.2, I can see the screens that show the apps all installed. I can click sync and it seems to sync. The problem is on my phone - it keeps going to the restore mode, with the hello, I select the wifi, restore from backup and then it tells me to connect to itunes, I do but then it freezes on the screen that says "Connected to iTunes" I have tried shutting down phone, restarting iTunes, restarting computer. No joy.
Ideas?
System: Windows 8, iPhone 4
I have now sorted this problem. After doing the restore from backup, iphone goes back in to hello>select wifi>set up as new or restore from backup again. Select "set up as new" skip to everything(didn't put in my apple id), and when phone comes up it has all app, msgs, contacts, photos settings etc. ie the restore works but there is a glitch that you have to then select set up as new to get back to the restored phone!

I had this exact issue after updating to iOS5, luckily my iPhone is on my company plan. Contacted carrier (Verizon) and they replaced device. The new device was iOS4.2. Activated new device and moved number (done in Verizon store). I no longer have this issue. I will not upgrade to new operating system until I can get confirmation that this issue was resolved. I do not know the exact issue but in my case things had been working perfectly for 6 months. After installing iOS5 the problem occured. Had something to do with iOS5 and the datawork connection. Wish I knew how to explain but I know that going back to the previous operating system worked.

Having trouble after updating to iOS 8.1
I tried to update my iOS 8 to 8.1 .. but during process my phone turned off suddnly and now it doesnt turn on again ... I'm really upset now , what can i do to turn it on again ? i dont know what happend to my phone ???
MY iphone is 5C ... on my dark screen just showes a picture of wire towards to iTunes icon .. what does it mean ? i dont have iMac or something else to connect my iphone to it please help meThings I have already tried:

Since my iPhone 4S was stuck on the connect to iTunes screen after updating to iOS 7, I followed these instructions and restored. But nothing changed! I still have the same picture of a plug with arrow to iTunes.
It is restored now. Thanks for the comment about disabling firewalls - we did that and tried again and it worked.

Is it still possible to downgrade from ios 6 to ios 5.1.1 on my ipod touch 4th gen as of Sept.24? Also, if I use a backup created AFTER updating to ios 6, when I restore/downgrade to ios 5.1.1, does it become ios 6 again because of the version of ios 6 that I created the backup on?
There has never been a legit way to downgrade.
It will always restore to the latest available software. -
I purchased three autobooks from itunes last weekend and after updating my ios to 7 they no longer appear. I looked at my purchse history and they are not showing in my purchase history. I do have the receipts for the charge. How do I restore these?

Itunes content is not incliuded in the backup that itunes performs.
Audiobooks are not part of icloud and cannot be redownloaded.
You can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception. -

There is no such thing as a "Factory Unlocked iPhone "
They are either locked to a carrier who may at some stage offer unlocking
or sold direct to a user by Apple (from their own Stores or online .)
Those iPhones are NOT locked

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like the iPhone is searchiong for a network. It looks like you have already done some troubleshooting. There are a few steps listed in this article you did not mention trying, they may be able to help the issue.

Has anyone had trouble with safari after updating to ios 8 on ipad
I am having trouble viewing a web page through safari after updating to ios 8 on my ipad. On the left side of my screen is a list of my favorites leaving only 3/4 of the screen to view a web page. Before the ios 8 update when I clicked on the safari icon it took me to a full screen view of my favorites with icons.
Same issue here, seems to be fine on text based websites, but any with images on struggle to load.
im on 100mb fibre, and all sites work fone on other devices, just my iPad since upgrading
its loads the site slowly, displays about 3/4 of the page once loaded -

I used BSNL - India previously. After I get problem, I used Mobily -Saudi Arabia again I got problem and I am trying to use Airtel - India.
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?

I searched for some solutions on the internet and applied following fixes:
1- Disconnected iphone from PC and closed itunes.
2- Reset the iphone by holding down the On/Off button.
3- Connected iphone back to PC to sync with itunes.
Apparently this fixed the problem, and iphone synced with itunes.same here, but now you can't downgrade to iOS 7.x, since apple has closed the verification server for that version.

1) Double tap the home button
2) Hold down on an icon
3) Tap the red "X" on iTunes, and the App Store.

8) Tap Network Settings
Once it has been closed with multi-tasking, and you have rebooted the device in the network settings reset, please sign in, and try again.

Mildly amusing that the instructions for force-closing a program are the IOS 6 instructions, which do not work on IOS 7.
Otherwise I'm having a little success with this. Some apps (not all) are updating. It seems that a few more apps update each time I go through the process (close everything, sign out, and either reset or reboot, then go to the app store, sign in and try to update all). So far it has been a very lengthy, iterative process. -
