Trouble connecting Apple TV to Sony TV (KV-24FV10)

I am having some problems connecting my new Apple TV to my Sony TV (model: KV-24FV10). I used cables that previously was connected to my DVD but when I use them on the ATV the picture is black and white.
I plugged the cables in so RED=RED, WHITE=BLUE and YELLOW=GREEN as described in another post on this forum.

1. I haven't gotten as far as to play anything. Even the animated startup screen is in black&white
2. I set the output to 480i which was the only resolution that showed up nicely.
3. Yeah my DVD is working fine so i can;t see that being the issue. Also when I get into the TV menu it is showing colors for the menu text.

Trouble connecting Apple TV

Hi,
I got the Apple TV for a Christmas gift and I cannot connect it. I can get video, but no audio. The HD TV I have is an older model, it was purchased in 2006/2007. I had to connect using an HDMI to DVI cable, however, there isn't a digital audio port. My DVR box has an HDMI and Digital audio port that fits into the apple TV. IS there a way to connect through the box? Can I just use an HDMI switch that connects directly into the TV and get sound?

Thanks for your response. I don't have an HDMI port on my TV, I only have a DVI port. Does this mean that I cannot use and hear my Apple TV with this TV?
You need to use the optical audio output to connect the audio separately, either to your TV if it has an optical audio input, or to an A/V receiver or other audio device that has an optical input.

Having trouble connecting apple tv to ibahn hotel network

Im staying in a condo that has Internet access via ibahn, like in a hotel. The apple tv finds the network find, but there is a pop up login, so it won't actually connect. Is there anyway around this?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Without a web browser there is no way to log in to such networks, I'm not aware of any workarounds.

Having trouble connecting apple tv with ethernet

I previously had my apple tv connected to a wireless bridge to connect to the internet. no for some reason it no longer wants to connect through the wireless bridge. It will work wirelessly though for some reason. It has an ip address, subnet mask number and ethernet number. there is no router address or dns number. I have tried to configure it manually but no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Wondering if I need a different cable. I only have the HDMI running from Apple TV to the HDMI slot on the receiver. Do I need the red/yellow/white cable as well and if so, how would I connect that to Apple TV? Thx!

Trouble connecting Apple TV in China

I just moved to China from Bulgaria. My Apple TV worked fine in Sofia, but I can't get it to load in Chengdu. The screen just gets stuck on "setting date and time". I press "menu" to get into settings but nothing happens. I should have enough internet power to run it. Any suggestions?

Connecting Apple TV to an Acer H5380BD DLP Projector?

Having trouble connect Apple TV to an Acer H5380BD DLP Projector. It is currently connected with an HDMI cable to projector. I played a purchased movie once with the same HDMI cable/connection and it worked fine. The next day I tried to watch the same movie and it displayed I can't because HDMI cable issue. The same apple tv and hdmi cable work fine on our flatscreen tv but not on the projector. Any suggestion? Getting no answers from apple.

You may have better luck going through support for the projector as that is where the issue seems to lie.

Connecting Apple TV to iTunes Tip

After following every bit of info on this forum as well as Apple's solution I still had no luck.
Finally, I tried unchecking Proxy box in the network settings and it worked!
I guess for those of you still having trouble connecting Apple Tv to iTunes, just uncheck the Proxy box under network settings.

Apple menu / System Preferences / Network.
Click Location: and select Edit Locations..
Click + (plus sign), and enter a name for the new location - anything will do.
Apply this.

I'm having trouble connecting my iphone to my itunes on my computer

So for christmas I got an iPhone and currently, I'm having trouble connecting my iPhone to my iTunes on my computer. If I get on my computer and open my iTunes, I can use it perfectly fine but once I tried to connect my phone to it, it told me the software needed to be updated before it would work with my phone. I went to the website and tried downloading the updated version 10 times but every time it told me it couldn't connect with an apple device or something. So then I tried just going to my downloads and stuff and moving the actual song straight to my phone but it would always tell me my device has ended or has been disconnected. All I'm trying to do is move some songs onto my phone from my computer. They weren't purchased straight from iTunes so it's not showung up in my "purchased" on my phone. (I think I got them from amazon and some are cds that I my computer that I got years ago. Maybe thats why they don't show up in the purchased?) Anyway, how can I fix this? I have a windows computer if that can help at all. Thanks!!!

Also, I just opened my iTunes on my computer then plugged my phone to the computer and a box popped up saying "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device is not started"
I have no idea what that means.

I am having trouble connecting my IPad1 to Belkin Wireless Router. It was working fine until a couple of days ago. I can use my IMAC okay via wireless. I can see my network on the IPad, but message comes up "unable to join the network XXXX". I have read the Apple recent release to fix this problem...still no luck. Can anyone please help?

Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.
