Troubles syncing itunes playlist to iphone4

Hello,
I had organized my playlists in my itunes, but when I sync my iphone, the playlist comes up with a whole different list of music than what the playlist was supposed to be. The phone recognises that I made a playlist (same playlist name, etc..) but have completely different songs.
Sounds like a bug.. wondering if maybe I'm doing some wrong though. Any suggestions will help.

Sort the playlist in the order you want.
Then on the playlist name, right click - *Copy to play order*.
Then sync the iPod.

I am having trouble syncing my itunes playlist to the ipod touch. When I connect the ipod to the computer and open itunes, the ipod shows that it is in the sync process. However, the playlist does not show up. The Diagnostic Test shows "no ipod found". I installed the newest version of itunes and have reset the sync history.

After connecting your iPod touch to the computer, choose the Music tab at the top. Let's make sure "Sync Music" is checked:
Afterwards, you'll have see the options to sync "Entire music library" and sync "Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres". If the latter is selected, four larger option boxes will appear allowing you to pick and choose what content will be synced. It may be that the specific playlist you are referring to is not checked.

  • How do I sync iTunes playlists on my iPhone with iTunes Match?

My experience with iTunes Match so far has been mixed.  On one hand, the face of iTunes on one computer to the next is virtually identical, and the streming over the wi-fi from the laptop at work to my home computer is perfect.  At the same time, iTunes Match on my iPhone seems terrible.  Playlists don't sync and are deleted from my iPhone.  Songs that are already on my phone, for some reason, still make my phone spin and drain my battery life.  Even after disabling the "allow cellular data over 3G" message, or whatever it is, is turned off, still the phone keeps spinning and draining battery life.  So, in one sense, iTunes Match is nice because I can access my music from multiple computers, but in another, the mobile connection - which should be awesome and seemless - is terrible.  Is there a way, aside from turning iTunes Match off, syncing manually to iTunes, and loading my playlists like the old way (which isn't a perfect science now, either)...Basically, how can I sync my playlists from iTunes on my computer to iTunes on my iPhone using iTunes Match?

With iTunes Match enabled on an iOS device direct syncing with iTunes via USB or Wi Fi is disabled. To sync in the traditional way iTM must be disabled on the iOS device. At this time is it either/or.

  • Sync iTunes Playlist with other Mac

Hey everybody!! I have an iMac with a 20.000+ Song Music Library which I do most of my work on. I also have a 128GB macbook air which I use for DJing.
Is there any way that I could wirelessly sync the playlists I make on my iMac with my Macbook Air?
I would be using iTunes Match but the problem is that matched songs are only available in 256k and I need them in 320k.
    Thanks in advance!

do you mean "grind" as in a genre or something else? <<</div>

  • Syncing iTunes playlist to IPod

I know this is a no brainer. But I've forgotten how do it. I simply want to take my selected iTunes playlist ( let's say I call it Pete's Playlist) and transport, sync, whatever that Pete's playlist to my iPod, so that the song list is in sequence, and not scattered by title. In other words, let's say I want to transport 10 songs of Elvis Presley, 10 songs of the Beatles, 10 song of Frank Sinatra, and the entire Goldberg Variations. How do I take those selections from Pete's playlist in iTunes and transport them my iPod, so that when I go to "All Songs," the 10 songs of Elvis is one list, followed by the Beatles, and so on in sequence?
    Thank you for the info.
    Pete

Sort the playlist in the order you want.
Then on the playlist name, right click - *Copy to play order*.
    Then sync the iPod.

  • How to sync iTunes playlists on multiple devices

Hi - just a quick one & I am sure that many of you guru's already understand how to do this but.. From time to time, while traveling - etc, I will make playlists on whatever device that I happen to be using & wish that they would show up on my other devices. For instance, last week I created a quick playlist on my iPad and it doesnt show up on my iPhone nor any of the other 4 Apple devices (including computers) that I use frequently. Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks.

I have a friend who uses iTunes Match, and that will automatically sync the playlists between his devices.  One thing to know though is that when you setup iTunes Match on your iOS device for the first time, it will erase what you have on the device and replace it with what is on iTunes Match.  So...you might want to export those playlists first.

  • Can you sync itunes playlist from ipad to ipod(s)?

I recently got a new ipod and want know know if there is a way , or how to transfer my itunes playlist on my ipad to my ipod??

As long as the playlist is in your iTunes library, you sync it from iTunes on your computer.

  • IPad will no longer sync iTunes Playlist from OS 10.8.5 to iOS 7.0.4

I HAD been syncing my iPad to my iMac, but I decided to sync the iPad with my Macbook from now on, as it's at OS 10.8.5, when sync stopped working for Movies and Playlists from its OS 10.5 (I do not want to update the desktop Mac due to my preference for the colorful finder icons, plus some of my software requires expensive updates to work with 10.8).  So I had done some research and found that the sync from OS 10.5 no longer works to iOS 7... which led to my decision to sync the iPad with my Macbook which was great at first.....
When I first synced to the Macbook, my up to date Playlists and Movies all synced - great - BUT last night, I added several new songs to my library and Playlists, and though after the sync, the iPad's iTunes DOES have the songs in its library, they do NOT appear in the Playlists.
I  have done a manual sync on the Macbook repeatedly to try and get these songs to appear in the Playlists on the iPad, but to no avail. I've always had 'Sync only checked songs and videos' selected, and have unchecked the updated Playlists, synced, and then checked them again and synced again, have tried checking and unchecking 'sync over WiFi', and even closing the iTunes app and re-opening, and even powering off the iPad and back on, yet nothing changes..
My Macbook is at 10.8.5 (current with its release) and the iPad is current as well, iOS 7.0.4.

I had to recreate the play list But once I did that and synced it appeared. I'm sure updates won't update to the playlist though if I buy new songs.... Plus I can't figure out why my Macbook syned to the iPad after deleting the Playlist on the iPad (I assumed it would re-sync to the Macbook as it had done the before) ... I had not changed any settings after fiddling with the obvious above... but once I created it again on the Macbook, then the iPad synced the new Playlist.
So aggrivating and disappointing that these things aren't tested out prior to releasing updates!

  • New iPhone 4S user: Problems syncing iTunes playlists

I have had my 4S for only 3 days.  At setup, I indicated that I only wanted several specific playlists to sync to the iPhone, along with a couple of specific artists.  This initially worked fine.  Now, in playing around with the iPhone & the iTunes interface the past couple of days, I somehow have managed to remove the sync playist option from iTunes, & the playlists are not showing on the iPhone.  I feel certain the content of the specific playlists involved is on the iPhone because the GBs for space used for music is correct.  When the iPhone is docked, the only options I, now, have on the interface under music are the following:
    iTunes Match is on
    sync voice memos is checked
the window that says "from Playlists" is "greyed out" or in dim video, & I can't click on anything.
Under the summary page, is the following:
Open iTunes when phone is connected
Sync with this iPhone over WiFi
Sync only checked songs & videos
These 3 are the only items checked.
    Looking at the iPhone:
    Playlists are empty
Artists, songs & albums fields are all populated which I assume is what the iPhone is detecting in the cloud.
I have been out of the loop for quite awhile in troubleshooting iTunes issues especially for iOS devices, so any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

I duplicated tthis post in the iPhone forum as I wasn't sure which forum would be best.  The problem has now been resolved in the iPhone forum.

  • Trouble with itunes playlists

    hi
I converted some music on to my Itunes account today.
Its on the playlists section under recently added and genres under unkown, but i cant move it over to my other music playlists i've created and i cant make it sync to my iphone.
So my questions are how do i move it to the rest of the music and how do i sync it as its normally done it automatically for me
    thanks

Close iTunes. Delete the hidden file sentinel from inside the your iTunes library folder (normally <User's Music>\iTunes) then start iTunes. It will run an integrity check on the library when it starts up which should resolve the problem.

  • Not Automatically Syncing iTunes Playlists

So I recently upgraded from a 4th Gen Nano to an iPhone 4 and I'm having one minor problem. On my Nano, iTunes would automatically update every playlist on it when it synced as soon as I hooked it up. With my iPhone, I need to delete the old playlist on the phone in iTunes, drag the updated playlist from the library to the phone and THEN sync. Simply dragging the new playlist to the phone without deleting the old one creates a playlist that's 99% duplicates.
This is kind of minor, but it's getting to be a nuisance. I'm sure someone's asked it before, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks.

First of all, This has nothing to do with iCloud, this is all iTunes. To enable songs to sync in iTunes you will need to goto your device > Music > Sync Music, and iTunes should sync all the music you specify and new songs you purchased.

  • Total mess trying to sync iTunes playlists to my iPhone 5

Hi. So I'm trying to get just certain playlists from my Mac to my iPhone 5.  But I'd settle for just copying the whole library.  When I try the former, I get 87 out of nearly 600 songs from my main playlist, and I get all my wife's country songs that I can't stand.  When I try the latter, I get 246 of the 2200 songs in our library.
The Mac is the new problem. Our old macbook pro died and we replaced it with a desktop, concurrent with getting iphones. My old ipod synced without a hitch on the old macbook, but my experience with the iphone and the mac desktop has been beyond frustrating. It's really puzzling to me how the **** it chooses to import songs I don't even have in the playlists checked to be synced.

your phone is in recovery mode, which means your data is already lost.  hopefuly you've been keeping regular backups

  • Trouble with itunes playlist and iphoto slideshow

    Hello,
I have created the slideshow in iphoto with background music from a playlist from itunes. It all looks great and plays perfectly in iphoto but after the conversion into a movie using Quicktime only the first song from the playlist accompanies the slideshow. I have done this before with an earlier slideshow and it all worked out great: Slideshow became movie accompanied by the whole playlist. This problem seems to have occurred since I upgraded to itunes 7.6 and Quicktime 7.4 Any ideas or hints would greatly appreciated.

my advice has always been to rebuid any arrays with the new OS.
    backup, delete, restore/reload
And invest in SoftRAID for your driver for all drives but esp. for mirror.
TimeMachine - I'd pull your current backup drive and use a new one.
    And clone.
Never rely on one backup set, or method.
iTunes has always been.... interesting. Maybe someone in iTunes forums, and Lion community.
I have always had iTunes and my media/data personal account home folder (back to 10.2 days) on separate drive volumes. Often stripped. Vista + itunes + RAID = corrupt data, but that was 2007.
Shift launch iTunes. Told it where Media Library is. There are Apple support articles to cover this.

  • HT1386 Trouble syncing iTunes and iPhone 4 wirelessly recently...

I have iTunes 11.0.2 and iPhone 4 iOS 6.1.3. Running on a OS X 10.6.8. I have the Wi-fi sync selected and my phone used to sync fine, but now it doesn't appear in iTunes any more. Both devices are on the same network and when I try to push my phone to "Sync Now" in the iTunes Wi-Fi Sync, it says it will resume when my computer is available. I have tried restarting both, shutting both down and restarting, and doing a hard restart on my phone. Nothing.
Any thoughts? Thanks for your time and help.
