Troubles with 6020 connection to computer

Hello all,
I have Nokia 6020. I also have installed PC suite. When I try to connect mobile phone to the computer through DKU 5, windows shows the error:
Unknown device attached to USB port.
I have DKU5 driver software installed. So what is giving this error? please guide me.

If it is saying unknown device then my guess is that the drivers have not been picked up. Try uninstalling PC Suite and the drivers and reinstalling them. Make sure you install the drivers first.

    Hi Chuck,
TenFourFox is the most up to date browser for our PPCs, they even have G4 & G5 optimized versions...
    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
I'd avoid vesrion 24 though, as it no longer supports plug-ins like Flash.
SeaMonkey seems pretty fast also, with many options...

Might also look into iCab & OmniWeb versions.
    Also...
The last really supported Flash for PPC was 10.1.102.64, but if it's for like Facebook or such, people have been fooling FB to think they have a leter version installed.

Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Anyone having trouble with internet connection after downloading mountain lion

After installing Mountain lion to my mid 2011 imac 21" I am having trouble with my internet connection.  Anyone else have to deal with this?

Are you on 10.8.2 as ypur profile says? If so, it's worth updating to 10.8.3 which was released last week.

  • IMac troubles with AirPort connection

A few days ago — after I ugraded my iMac G5 to 10.4.10 — my iMac stopped communicating properly with my network. It will connect to the wireless network and the Internet, but it will no longer print wirelessly or stream music to either Express base station. I have one base station connected to my cable modem and a stereo and another connected to the printer and another stereo. My MacBook, also upgraded to 10.4.10, has no problems with wireless connectivity, except that it can no longer find my shared iTunes library from my iMac.
When I run the Airport Admin Utility program, the iMac cannot find either base station.
I've tried restoring the base stations to factory setting, and today I ran an archive and install on the iMac. It still has the problems.
I've heard a lot of people are having wireless problems with 10.4.10. Anybody figured this one out yet?
    Thanks for any ideas,
    Amy

every since I updated my 17" macbook pro
    I have the same problem.
my computer does not stay connected to my network (airport)
it keeps disconnecting and its annoying
some times it'll disconnect 2-3 time in one minute.
and my internet is much slower now.
I feel like restoring the older OS.
I know this because I also have a powerbook 15" connected to the same network and it was never updated so it runs smooth
does anyone know how to remedy this
    Thanks

  • Why am I having trouble with Internet connect?

I have just set up a broadband connection using a USB modem on my phone line. I have to reconnect each time I wake the computer from Sleep as the Modem gets its power supply through the USB port. Sometimes it takes several attempts to establish a connection. I have checked the configuration (several times). Is the problem most likely to be:
    a) With Internet Connect ?
    b) With my ISP?
    C) With the modem?
    G4 ibook   Mac OS X (10.4.8)
    G4 ibook

    My guess, the modem.
It's probably taking some time for the USB modem to power up, perform its startup tests, load its configuration and be ready to respond to the network.
It's one of the reasons I never recommend USB DSL routers.
If the modem supports direct power (vs. being powered by the USB line) you can try using that - at least that way the modem won't power down and need to do its whole startup process again. Either that or replace the USB modem with an ethernet-based one that won't have this problem.

  • Having trouble finding internet connection on computer

I'm pretty technically unsavvy so forgive the laymens language - any help would be appreciated.
trying to upgrade my phone/ and internet to cable and the cable guy is telling me that there's something wrong with my computer (of course). They are saying they do not see an internet ethernet connection. I used to use it for dial up I know it there and have Internet explorer on my desktop - can anyone help - the installation disk is fine until it gets to the network point then says having trouble connecting to your network -
    ibook - clamshell/blueberry/300 MHZ G3/512K/OS9.2   Mac OS 9.2.x

Ok so I went home and checked the TCP/IP and it was on ethernet already. I also had an IP address, subnet mask, router, and a name server address - but no DHCP address.
However, when I tried to install again (because I'm stubborn) I got this message: Could not renew your TCP/IP lease. An application on your mac is using your DHCP port (what is that?). Contact your network Administrator - who's that is that me- I'm the only one who uses the computer.
    Help again. thanks in advance.

  • I am having trouble with itunes connecting to the ipod software update server

I am having trouble contacting the ipod update server.  I just recently updated my computer with the vista service pack 2 and did necessary repairs but for some reason my itunes will not connect to the server nor to the online itunes store.  Does anyone have any ideas?

On rare occasions, the message can be caused by LSP trouble. If that's afoot, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

  • Trouble with internet connection after update to Snow Leopard

Happily surfing the internet with the most recent update of Tiger until deciding to upgrade to Snow Leopard so that I could connect to a wireless printer. Noticed almost immediately that Safari was spotty, sometime normal, but often painfully slow. Have checked forums that suggest dumping caches, reseting Safari, repairing permissions, doing fresh install of SL. Nothing has worked. Can't even get internet with Firefox. Internet connection seems to work after I start up, but then fails after 5-10 minutes. Most of the time it doesn't work at all. Doesn't seem to be a problem limited to Safari since Firefox won't work either. Phone support tried saying that SL likes a WPA router connection and not WEP, which is the current setup.
Finally, I decided to boot to my clone of Tiger. After a little bit of fussing around setting up the internet connection over Airport everything works just fine! What's wrong with SL and how can I fix it. Really like the iLife11 upgrade and being able to print wirelessly, but if I can't get internet access that makes it rather pointless. Know this is a lot and rather hastily written, but please help!

    Hello
Sorry, I have no answer to your problem. I just want to share that I amexeprience similar issues with my iMac since I upgraded to Snow leopard :
The LAN connection of the iMac slows down after accessing Internet, usually less that one hour. I can measure it through an Internet throughput utility on my provider's home page.
I have two Macs connected on the same DSL box, with the same OS version, Snow leopard, and nearly the same sofwtare configuration. Thus I can compare the Internet access speed :
After starting the computers, it is above 12 Mb/s.
On the iMac that I use most for Internet, it slow down to more or less 2 Mb/s after a few minutes, whereas it stays at 12 Mb/s on the MacMini.
Because of this, I believe it is LAN problem, not an Internet/DSL problem.
The same phenomenon happens if I connect to my DSL/Router with Ethernet or with Airport. The speed drops to similar values, below 3 Mb/s. Thus, the problem dose not seem to be related to LAN connection hardware.
Curiously, the speed is high again after shutting down and restaring the iMac. But it slows down again after a few minutes. Putting the computer to sleep does not help to restore maximal speed: it has to be shut down.
From all this, I draw the conclusion that the problem lies in a LAN software layer that is common to Ethernet and Airport and that is restarted only after shutdown.
I am using the MacMini as a reference for Internet access performance, in order to have a benchmark for iMac performance. I hav enot tried yet if the LAN performance of the MacMini collapses in a similar way if I use it to surf on the net.
I hope this will be helpfull do draw some attention from experts at Apple. It looks like a bug in a Snow Leopard LAN software layer.

  • Safari house trouble with "secure connections"

    Wow. What a pain...
Item 1. Safari has trouble accessing secure sites, even APPLE.COM as per below when I tried to log in to this forum!! Only one bank site works and virtually everything else (forums, banks, anything requiring a log-in) returns a dumb-arse response as below.
"Safari can’t open the page “https://support.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/ACAuthWeb.woa/wa/login?appIdKey=2dd bca23a85d20e5bf7478812379ae23&path=/login.jspa%3FsuccessURL%3D/category.jspa%3Fc ategoryID%3D169” because Safari can’t establish a secure connection to the server"
Item 2. I threw Safari in the trash and downloaded another copy to re-install and got: "Safari can't be installed on this disk. This update requires Mac OS X 10.5.8 or newer" This despite the fact I'm running 10.6.1
Since Mail has just shat itself recently and couldn't recognize an mail server if one bit it in the arse, I'm thinking 10.6.1 is the culprit and wasn't worth the disk it shipped on.
I normally LOVE my Mac but it has cost me a week of productivity this week and this is about as polite as I can manage.
Ideas? Thank you much for your tips/tricks in advance.
    MMM

Oh, and I went to update to 10.6.1 and my computer rejected the download saying its certificate was suspect
So, Mail can't locate servers, Safari won't do secure sites, and my computer rejects Apple's own updates. I have one paranoid laptop.

  • Problem with Bluetooth connection to computer

I have a Nokia 6120 Classic, which I synch by bluetooth with my Toshiba Satellite A200/H01 (Vista Home Premium 32 bit).
A few days ago, I started getting this message on start up: "TosBtMng has stopped working" I updated all the drivers for BT devices in the device manager, but this did not help. I then installed the Toshiba BlueTooth stack 6.40.02(T), and this did not help, either.
Could someone please help me? I feel it must be a conflict between the PC Suite/6120 Classic and the computer's bluetooth. I have Nokia's PC Suite ver 7.1.30.9. I have been using the computer's BT without trouble for 18 mths now, until last week.
    Thanks a lot. Andrew

    try system restore.
    that fixed it for me.

  • Trouble with keeping connection with Airport express

    Hi,
I've got 5-6 year old airport express which gives me some troubles. It has worked for months but recently it just disappeared from Airfoil and when I looked up the settings it said that it wasn't installed.
I tried to reinstall it several times without success. When I used old versions of the program it worked for a few days. And then the same thing happened, it disappeared from airfoil and I had to reinstall it again.
Could it be so that this old model of airport express is in conflict with my Mac Os Leopard system so it keeps forcing my airport settings to go off? Is there a solution to it so I don't have to reinstall it every now and then?
    Thanks for your help
    Regards Henrik

I need to share a wireless connection to a old powermac that does not have a wifi card. I have an airport express that is connected "join wireless network" mode, and I have run an ethernet cable from the express to the G5. However, I am not getting a internet connection on the G5 (the rest of the wireless network works fine).
If you launch AirPort Utility, put your AirPort Express into "manual setup" mode, then view the AirPort panel, Wireless tab, have you checked "Allow Ethernet clients"?
I am wondering if I should have the express set up in one of the other "wireless mode" options such as, "participate in a WDS network"? What exactly is a WDS network anyway?
WDS is for pre-802.11n equipment. You don't want to use it unless you have to.
If I click on "internet" in Airport Utility, go to the airport express, I see that "connection sharing is set to, "Off (bridge mode)" and grayed out.
    What exactly is "bridge mode".
"Bridge mode" delegates control to the "upstream" router. In your case that's what you want.

  • Anybody has trouble with ipad2 connecting to internet?

I have been gifted an Ipad 2, when I choose my WI-Fi network...it keep spinning and I cannot connect to the internet. I have an Iphone 4 and I'v never had trouble connecting to the internet.  I have my internet settings, everything seems fine. Has anybody encountered the same problem??? Your suggestions and tips will be most welcome.          Thank you

First power off then back on your phone.
Then verify your network as a check mark next to your network name in settings > wi-fi and if so attempt the Internet.
If that doesn't work, toggle on and off airplane mode, then attempt Internet.
If that doesn't work reset network settings via settings > general > reset > reset network settings.
Please reply if the above fixed or didn't fix your Internet connection issue with iPad 2.

  • Trouble with internet connection when using extreme to join wireless network

I have an airport extreme that I want to use as an ethernet hub.  I have successfully connected it to my wireless modem, and I have a solid green light; however, when I connected the ethernet to my tv/computer/anything there is no internet connection.  I tried powering down everything in order and rebooting as appropriate modem then router then computer, but still not internet connection.  Any suggestions.

The AirPort Extreme does not provide any routing functions when it is configured to "join a wireless network", so the Ethernet ports are not active in this type of setup. The only thing that really functions is the USB port, which could be used for a remote printer or hard drive.
If you have another Apple "n" wireless router acting as your main base station, you can configure the AirPort Extreme to "extend a wireless network". The Ethernet ports are enabled in this type of setup....and the Extreme will provide more wireless coverage in the area where it is located.
