Troubles with Onboard Sound

Hi,
I have a big Problem with the Onboard Sound and 4 Speakers.
Windowssounds, Mp3, Audio,.. -Sounds/Music won't play on the Rear Speakers only at the Front Speakers.
But the Listing Environment Test works fine with the 4 Speakers (Front & Rear).
Where is the Problem?
In the pdf Manual i found in the Appendix A-8 an additional Tool which is called "AC97 Audio Configuration".
But I can't found any Programm like this on my PC or the Drives CD's.
Installed ADI SoundMAX Drivers for ICH5 v5.12.01.3538 (Downloaded by Live Update) on my WinXP Pro.
Connected 1 Pair Front-Speaker to the Back Panel (Line Out Nr.3)
Connected 1 Pair Rear-Speaker to the Back Panel (Line Out Nr.2)
Changed in the "Listing Environment" to "Quad Speakers".
Do Step by Step Installation from the Manual.
Installed again and again.
Set the Volume Control to max.
Rebootet many Times.
Speakers / Cabels are all OK
Thanks 4 Your Help!

There has Been reported Problems with the ADI Sound-Max Drivers, I know that MSI is Aware of the Problem, and are in the Process of Rectifying the Problem See this Thread, as they have been in contact with an ADI Rep.>>>   https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threadid=40566&sid=   ...............Sean REILLY875

I'm having trouble with my 'sound up' and 'sound down' keys. They're doing other functions. This is only a relatively new thing.

You didn't mention what those "other functions" were.  That might help!
First thing to check is System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard tab - make sure "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" is un-checked.  Hopefully that still works in Mountain Lion.

  • Strangenessizm with onboard sound

    Hi
I am using the onboard sound with some Creative 2.1 digital speakers using the coaxial connection. This also allows me to have my headset and mic plugged in at the same time and they are both working at the same time also.
I have noticed though that when I have left my pc on for a while eg. overnight, that my headphones stop emitting sound. Any other time they are ok and if I restart the system they will be ok.
Any ideas why this may be happening anyone?

I get something similar with my K8T fis2r, but all I need to do is mute then unmute to get sound back, not a true fix, but as I have a mute button on my keyboard, it does not cause me that much trouble.  As to what causes this, I can only guess.

  • Adding a soundcard with onboard sound.

Is it possible to add a soundcard without disabling the onboard sound?  I'd like to use the card for recording and use the onboard for gaming, etc.  Is that possible?

It is possible as long as both soundcards do not conflict with each other and both drivers + the OS can support this configuration. But you got to try it out yourself!

  • Having trouble with the sound!!!

Recently I'm having trouble with the way the music played by the iTunes sounds! I first thought I have moved the equalizer's settings but I didn't. Music sounds funny with echo.... I'm sure that's a problem of the iTunes because I have played the same song using Windows Media player and it sounds fine! Can someone help me please???!!!!

    Can I just check.
You went to System Preferences (The Square grey icon with an Apple and Lightswitch or from the Blue apple menu top left) ?
Form the List of Preference Panes you choose Sound far right of the second row ?
And the Sound Effects tab in there ?
There should be a volume control for them in there and it need moving to the right.

  • Need Help Please: Audigy2 Value conflict with onboard sound

<SPAN class=postbody>System info: Windows XP Home Edition, 2.4 GHz IntelPent4, 52MB of RAM; DDR 200(33MHz), MSI MS-6547 (645 Ultra) motherboard. I need help! Sigh...well I am trying to put in a Soundblaster Audigy2 into my computer. I am under the impression that I have to disable and remove all onboard sound b/c it conflicts with the new sound card, ?. I currently have onboard sound ( AC97 Audio Controller ). I went to add/remove programs and removed the AC97 from there. I also went to MyComputer/Properties/Hardware/DeviceManager/Sound,Video,andGameControllers/AC97AudioContoller and deleted it. st Question: Under DeviceManager/Sound,Video,GameControllers...Do I need to remove the Legacy Audio Drivers? I know that I have to delete the rest of the drivers for AC97 and out of chance would Legacy be those drivers? I am guessing no...Also, is there anything else that I have to delete for the on board sound program to be gone? 2nd Question: I went to BIOS, and since I have windows XP home edition I think that configuration is a little different from what I read(I wont bore you with that). So, where do I go to "disable" the onboard sound in BIOS for Windows XP HomeEdition? Also, I read something about making sure the "Chip" was disabled but I could be paranoid. Do I need to worry about that? If you made it through all that text I thank you dearly. I hope that I can get some help from someone b/c I know nothing. I am afraid of making the wrong choice on BIOS and messing everything up. Thank You so Much! Ross Message Edited by RossRude3 on 04-06-2005 0:48 AM

    Ross,
To fully disable teh onboard audio you would need to go into the BIOS to disable the Onboard Audio chip there. The manual with your motherboard or PC should have more detail on where exactly to find this setting, as it will differ per BIOS type. Generally it should be under a heading like Integrated Peripherals, and should be marked as the Onboard Audio chip, or AC97 Audio.

  • Trouble with imported sound also going to IDVD

I imported some video and it was fine...then I imported another clip and placed it in front of the first clip. Suddenly that first clip has no sound. It is on the same audio track and the volume is clicked. i can hear the second clip fine.
Also...I have a great deal of trouble with the digital tape looking fine on the camera, but then all jumpy and the picture is all digital screwy when its imported to imovie.
When createing a new IDVD project, is there anyway to create a new on rather than just opening up the last one I was working one? That feature is all annoying and cause me to create duplicates of the work, eating up my precious space!

I would honestly like to know why it would not work to just use the exported video from FCE into iDvD, there should be no aspect change in my case. The source in in 720x480. I also would have thought that FCE would be set up to transfer to dvd since much of what is done will need to be shown on that format?
Anamorphicizer did not work for me!!
myDvdedit I have not tried yet as looks to be too many steps to be practical.
I suppose I will try QTpro.
    Any thoughts?

  • DVD Sound choppy with onboard sound

Okay, I have this problem with playing any dvd's through any version of power DVD.
With the onboard sound chip with the latest realtec drivers, any dvd (especially high fidelity funny enough) plays with the sound really choppy and nasty. If I switch to my second soundblaster soundcard, the sound is really perfect. So i'm just wondering what is causing the A97 chip to output choppy sound when playing dvd's, wheras normal mp3's play fine
    Thanks
    Dan

Cant think of much though have you enabled DMA on your DVD drive?
Because I had somany problems with my onboard sound card I went and got my self a creative live sound card.

  • Kt3 Ultra 2, with onboard sound problems

I'm just getting my new motherboard set up, and when i install the drivers for the onboard sound, I'm only getting the sound effect, equalizer and general tabs in the option screens, according to the manual I'm supposed to have speaker configuration and test tabs as well, without this, I cant use the rear connections for 5.1 audio, which makes my surround system pointless.
I have tried the new sound drivers from this site, but when I try to run it, the installer comes up with "alcxwdm.inf not found", and stops dead. The rest of my system is Athlon XP2000+, win 98, 40Gb Seagate drive, Creative DVD drive, and Dxr3 DVd decoder card.

Damn, so I'll have to put my SBLive 1024 card in, which will run ok, and have only 4 channels, which is actually inferior to the onboard sound (supposedly having 6 channels), of which I can only get 2, Great!
All of which doesnt tell me why the updated drivers wont install at all, and this is happening just when I want to use windows apps, havent tried dvd yet, no point if I cant get the rear plugs to output, until I put sblive in... DOH!

  • TS5150 i'm having trouble with the sound during playback on my apple tv

theres no sound during playback on my apple tv

Welcome to the Apple Community mdez3799
Have you tried adjusting the "Audio Out" and the "Dolby Digital" settings in settings > audio and video? It may be worth trying several combinations of these settings, although typically it is the "Dolby Digital" setting that causes most problems for users.
If you are using a sound system/receiver, make sure that you have correctly mapped the input port on your sound system to the output, if you are unsure about how to do this, refer to the manual that came with your sound system.
Have you tried playing various content sources (i.e. podcasts, music, iTunes Store video, other video etc), do you have the same problem with all types of content? If you use optical you might also check that you can see a red light at the end of your optical audio cable. Is your optical audio cable plugged straight into your sound system, or does it go through a switch or other device?

  • Can't load Mandrake 9 with onBoard sound enabled.

    Any ideas as to why?
I can not boot into Mandrake 9 when I have onBoard sound enabled, it always freezes when it tries to load the i810 sound interface system. Yet when I disable it in the bios it loads perfectly.
I've already installed the nForce system drivers and that didn't help at all. Likely because it didn't know the sound card was there to install for.

I know your problem.Your not editing the modules.conf and adding these lines.Use vi command to edit. You may have one or more of these lines in your modules.conf and will only need to add the ones you don't have.I only had to add the audio line.
#vi /etc/modules.conf,press INSERT key, add the following lines,
    alias eth0 mcpeth
    alias sound-slot-1 i810_audio
    alias usb-interface usb-ohci
press ESC, (Shift) colon, wq and Enter.
This will save the changes you made.

  • Trouble with my Sound Blaster

? I've recently started using my HP a6250z desktop computer again, but I seem to be having some problems with my Sound Blaster X-fi Extreme Audio. It's got the newest drivers for the system, so I rule that out. On to the problems though, first, I can't use any microphones, I plug my set into the jack in the back marked with a microphone and nothing happens. Second, this may be part of the system, but should I have to restart my computer every time I plug in a new pair of speakers/headphones or should the computer adjust automatically? Third, sometimes, the sound will just cease working and will not work until I restart my computer, I can't identify any real correlation to anything that I do when this occurs. I'd really appreciate any help that anyone has with these and any possible avenues for me to look down when it comes to finding help.
    Thank you,
    kinzey37

Does your Xtreme Audio card come with the system? Was your driver installed dated - 2007 version 6.0..28? If so it would seem very old. I'm not sure the drivers on the driver download site will work with the card that came with your desktop. Another alternati've you can try is to use daniel k's SB P7X support pack. http://forums.creative.com/creativel...hread.id=39754
