Troubles with sound - Toshiba Satellite C670-13D

The following problem occures to my laptop: every 30 minutes after playing music trough the external amplifier my players crash and I can't launch the music again untill I restart the Windows. Also all the links to the music database crash, too. It occures in cases I was using internal soundcard and external USB soundcard. It never occured to the other laptops with the same amplifier. How can it be  explained or fixed?

Are you sure you don't have the speaker muted?
Did you try turning the volume control dial up?  That is often times overlooked.
Try going into Device Manager and uninstalling the audio devices then reboot the system to have Windows automatically re-install them.  DO NOT re-install the drivers manually.  You have to let Windows do it.
Let us know if any of these work or not.  And be sure to post your COMPLETE model number (and part number if this is NOT a USA model).
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

    I am having trouble with sound on my iPad

    Found the fix.
    If the reboot doesn't fix it.
    If the headphoens work find, but no external speakers.
    If the double-click and page right to the software mute, doesn't show the sound knob - just the brightness
    If your pop-up shows "Docking Station"
    Then, the problem is very likely a dirty connector.  The iPad/iPhone/iPod connector uses a resistor value to determine if the device is connected to an external 'speaker'.  There are a range of resistances, for a range of products.  This is known as the Connector Pin 21 issue.
    Take some windex on a que-tip, or perhaps a Windex paper scrub and rub it on the bottom connector port.  Somehow, "something" has gotten on those contacts, and it is pulling the voltage on pin #21 down - so that the iPad "thinks" it's connected to an external speaker - this will disable the internal speaker circuitry, as well as the internal speaker volume controls.
    Do not over-saturate and short out your iPad.  Do not throw it in the sink, do not use the kitchen faucet to flush it out.  A Que-tip with a few drops of Windex (or other gentle cleaner) should work just fine.  Takes all of 30 seconds - and magically, the volume knob appeared and everything worked just fine.

  • Satellite L755-16J - Trouble with sound card

    I currently own a Toshiba *Satellite L755-16J* and it is having some sort of trouble with the sound card, i think.
    When i bought it, it came with windows 7, i changed the windows to windows 8 and since then the audio has been troubling me.
    The internal speakers work for a minute or two when i play an audio file but then stop working.
    i had been using an external usb soundcard and external speakers for some time but decided to switchback to windows 7 for the sound to work properly again. even though i have switched back to win 7, the sound still doesnt work.
    I am quite sure that the problem is not in the internal speakers because they do work, although just for a brief moment but they work, so i am guessing the problem is in the software instead of the hardware.
    i tried updating the sound drivers but they seem to be up to date, according to windows the drivers "seem to be working properly"
    Can anyone help?

    > even though i have switched back to win 7, the sound still doesnt work.
    How did you do that?
    Did you use the Toshiba Recovery Disk in order to install Win 7 or did you install the Win 7 using fresh and clean Windows 7 disk?
    The notebook supports Conexant sound chip. The sound driver is available on the Toshiba EU driver page and in case the sound chip is already recognized in device manager after the sound driver installation, I assume the driver has been installed properly.
    In such case I would recommend you to connect the headphones.
    In case the headphones would function properly, the speakers might be affected. I mean the hardware. But of course its only an idea.
    Beside the headphone check, you could check also the settings within the control panel -> sound -> playback tab.
    Usually the speakers should be set as default device.
    Check this option too.

  • Having trouble with sound quality

    I have had this iPod Touch 2nd Generation for almost 2 years now, and I'm starting to have some troubles with it. The headphone sound quality is now starting to deteriorate. Unless the headphones are plugged in a specific way, either one bud goes out, or the sound quality goes down, as there is a lot of static and crackling, and I've had experiences with it actually shocking my ears while I'm listening.
    I have tried a new pair of headphones, and this does nothing.
    My iPod is obviously beyond the manufacturer's warranty, and it's up-to-date with the latest update. Is there anything I can do?

    Sounds like your headphone jack may need replacing.

  • Hi could anyone help me with my toshiba satellite m305d-s4830

    hi im johann from the philippines my laptop (a toshiba satellite m305d-s4830) came from the u.s. from my cousin and i don't have much support from toshiba here because it does not have warranty or anything so i was wonderin about two things.. first i wanted to upgrade the hdd of my laptop.. toshiba here does not have anything greater than 320gb but computer shops here have mobile sata hdds up to 500gb.. i'm planning to a 500gb but the catch is i would have to change the hdd on my own.. if that happens if i use the recovery disk would it install the windows vista it came with my laptop or would it be better if i just backup the current hdd and copy it to the new one as a ghost or something?  the next question is about readyboost.. i currently have 4gb of ram and that's the max for my laptop right? so i was wondering if readyboost would help me if i attach a 8gb flash drvie with readyboost? i'm using vista home premium 64bit.. thnx

    Satellite M305D-S4830
    if i use the recovery disk would it install the windows vista it came with my laptop or would it be better if i just backup the current hdd and copy it to the new one as a ghost or something?
    Your choice, Johann.
    You could use a program like Acronis' True Image to back up your entire drive (all partitions) to an external drive and later boot from a CD and restore to the new drive. This approach would include all data, applications, updates, and setting of course.
    That should work seamlessly for most applications, though one or two may require reactivation.
    i currently have 4gb of ram and that's the max for my laptop right? so i was wondering if readyboost would help me if i attach a 8gb flash drvie with readyboost?
    4 GB of RAM is really a great deal! I doubt that you will be using more than a fraction of it. Typically, 2 GB is the sweet spot for Windows Vista.
    In any case, I don't recommend ReadyBoost. It doesn't improve performance much.

  • Palm 755P (Sprint) not synchronizing with new Toshiba Satellite L305D operatig Windows Vista.

    OK Please help the new guy....
    I have a Treo that is a month old. It was previously synchronized with my old computer. My old computer took the dive. I bought a new Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5938t aht is running Windows Vista.
    I tried to locate the Palm Desktop via the disk in the Treo box from Sprint. No dice. The Desktop loaded, but I can't synchronize my Treo. There is no available USB connection.
    So, I played around with it and tried to get it to connect via bluetooth.... NO DICE.
    Very frustrating.....
    Does anyone have any advise at all?
    Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Anybody out there have a solution?
    Has anybody beside me encountered this problem too?
    Please advise.....
    Post relates to: Treo 755p (Sprint)

    Hi.. Welcome to the Palm forums.  My first assumption is your Vista is a 64bit version.  That being the case there are no usb drivers available which is the reason for the problem trying to sync via cable.  You are headed in the right direction as bluetooth is the only way your going to sync.  First the computer has to be bluetooth compatible or you need to purchase a bluetooth dongle and get it installed and then get the two to pair.  From there if you go the the windows hotsync thread here you will find a sticky that explains the process.  Also here is a knowledge base article about how to sync via bluetooth.  http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/nua/launchKB.asp?c=41559

  • Trouble with sound

    Hey-
    I'm trying to import video (MPEG format) into iMovie HD, but when I do, it loses all sound. I've tried the troubleshooting tips within the program and none have worked. THe sound works when I play the video in Quicktime, so I have no idea what the problem is. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

    Welcome to iMovie Discussions.
    All this - and a great deal more - is explained in Dan's excellent "Unofficial iMovie FAQ", here: http://www.danslagle.com/mac/iMovie/tips_tricks/6018.shtml
    [..NOTE that besides transferring MPEG clips via Image Capture, which Dan mentions, iPhoto will now normally import these kind of clips, too.]
    iMovie will correctly play - with sound - some MPEG-4 files, but perhaps you've got MPEG-2 files, instead.

  • Sudden Trouble With Sound

    I'm almost done with a 15 minute imovie. Suddenly, my sound (both voice and music) is warbled and cracking when it sounded perfectly fine the last time I listened to it. Someone mentioned that maybe I need an update, but when I checked for software updates, it didn't help. This is imovie HD 6.0.3 on a Mac OS X v. 10.4.11 -- any ideas on what went wrong?

    Hi
    A. Free space on internal hard disk ?
    • 5Gb or less = Troubles
    • 5 - 10 => Might work but slow and instable
    • 25Gb or more - As intended
    B. more than 50 audio clips in movie - known trouble maker
    • mix audio down to one clip on one track - mute the other two

  • Trouble with sound on new DVR only on playing Pandora Widget

    I just got another DVR for our bedroom, already have one in Den.  Only on the new DVR do I have the problem of no sound when I try to play songs on Pandora.  The station comes up and all my choices are there and a song is playing by all indications but no sound.  My other DVR that I've had works perfect.  Called tech support and they rebooted my router and my DVR but no help.  She said she would send this issue up the line LOL.  Maybe someone here can tell me what is wrong?

    I've got the same problem, with the same laptop - here's the bug report.

  • Having Trouble with sound when hooked up to my Car stereo

    I have hooked up my iPod to my car stereo and it sounds horrible. I dont know if the guy that did it, did it wrong but all support is telling me is that to hook it up with the cords i have. Any help from people? thank you

    Does your ipod play through your car speakers.
    Im guessing it does.
    I am rather confident that your problem is solely thanks to the volume not being correctly done. To make it louder, use the car not the ipod.
    Keep the ipod on a low volume.
    Good Luck!

  • Trouble with sound 8.1

    I've been experiencing some technical difficulties regarding the sound on my Windows 8.1. I'm using a ASUS SonicMaster laptop with VIA HD Audio deck.
    Whenever I don't use any headphones or speakers connected to my laptop, the sound works just fine through the laptop speakers. But when I try to plug-in headphones or speakers, no sound comes out.
    I verified if the problem was headphones, and it wasn't, it was working fine with my ipod and other laptops. I did some research to see if my driver was updated, and it was (as I said, if nothing is connected, it works normally). The driver codec is VT1802P
    for windows 8, by the way.
    So I started searching for anything that could've been the problem.
    When I have headphones connected with music playing, and click on the sound icon on the bottom right, it shows the bar going up and down according to the music, as if it was playing normally, but still no sound. When I right-click the icon and open the sound
    menu, it shows that everything is normal and the headphones are set to be the default player.
    The curious thing is, whenever the headphones are the default player, and I right-click the laptop speakers listed and then click "Test", for a brief period (as long as the test ring sound takes) the headphones works. So I hear like 3 seconds of music
    through the headphones, and then the problem is back. The same thing happens when I click to adjust the sound of the Laptop Speakers in the mixer and the headphones are set to default. The sound is heard through the headphones as long as the windows midi ring
    takes to play, then it mutes again.
    I have no idea of what might be the problem, and I've tried everything I could think of. I don't seem to find anyone with the exact same problem I have anywhere on the internet either.
    It started happening about two weeks ago, before that I didn't have any kind of issues. The laptop is brand new and the headphones, speaker and cables used are all working perfectly, and so is the p2 port.
    I've been connecting my laptop and my TV with HDMI cables, and then plugging my headphones or speakers to my tv, that's the only way I can make it work.
    I'm sorry for my english, I'm brazilian and I'm using Windows in Portuguese, so I'm just guessing what the menus are called.
    Please help! Thanks!

    May I know if there is any changes for this PC before this issue happen?
    Did you upgrade your OS from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1?
    I would recommended you to contact ASUS regarding this issue, since I believe this Sonic master ASUS laptop using specific sound hardware and maybe software in order to sound working fine, maybe there is update driver for this PC. I try to
    check from this site, I cant find any update and I found all model for this PC comes with Windows 7 only, please correct me if i'm wrong
    http://sonicmaster.asus.com/global/downloads/n6/
    If this PC OEM with Windows 8.1, try to do system restore to eliminate driver issue or do clean boot to eliminate 3rd party software issue

  • Trouble with sounds

    Hello:
    I'm programing a j2me game. but when I try to put sound efects to it, the memory increase considerably. I develop a util class to do that. the class code is:
    public class SoundPlayer implements PlayerListener {
         public SoundPlayer() {
         private void play(String fileName, String fileType) throws IOException, MediaException {
              InputStream input = getClass().getResourceAsStream(fileName);
              Player sound = Manager.createPlayer(input,fileType);
              sound.prefetch();
              input.close();
              input = null;
              sound.addPlayerListener(this);
              sound.start();
         public void PlayMIDISoundFromFile(String fileName) {
              try {
                   play(fileName,"audio/midi");
              } catch (IOException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              } catch (MediaException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
         public void PlayMP3SoundFromFile(String fileName) {
              try {
                   play(fileName,"audio/mpeg");
              } catch (IOException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              } catch (MediaException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
         public void PlayWAVSoundFromFile(String fileName) {
              try {
                   play(fileName,"audio/x-wav");
              } catch (IOException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              } catch (MediaException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
         public void playerUpdate(Player player, String event, Object eventData) {
              if(event.equals(PlayerListener.END_OF_MEDIA) || event.equals(PlayerListener.CLOSED)) {
                   player.deallocate();
                   player = null;
                   System.gc();
    }now, when I call any method of this the memory increase, and increase, and increase.
    Thanks in advance
    pla.

    Thanks Meg, but I've done that many times.  Now that I've read other post with similar issues, I've plugged in the headset (which until this point nothing had been plugged in that port) and I can adjust the sound volume and hear it in the headset.  But once the headset is out, forget it. It is back to the same problem.

    Hello Dmitri 1964 28,
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
    I think it would be a good idea to restart the AppleTV with the onscreen menu.
    Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation): How to restart your Apple TV
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3180
    Restarting your Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) using the onscreen menu
    If you have Apple TV software 5.0 or later installed, you can restart your Apple TV using the onscreen menu. To restart your Apple TV choose Settings > General > Restart.
    If that does not resolve the issue, and purchased that used to work exhibit the same issue, next I would restore the Apple TV with iTunes.
