Troubles with T3100 on Vista

For some reason my new Creative Inspire T300 is dead-as-a-doorknob. I have it attached to a new Dell Inspiron desktop with Vista. The power cord is plugged into a power outlet; the T300 system is plugged into the computer. I have read and re-read the diagram showing how to plug in the T300, and am pretty sure I have followed instructions. Some years ago I had no problem setting up a similar speaker system for my previous PC. Yet this time no such luck.
Is there a way to test whether the T300 is okay or faulty?

You can connect the speakers to another device like an mp3 player, radio, etc... If you are getting sound from the speakers, it's working properly.

I have 64-bit Vista on an HP laptop, and am having trouble with P4

I have 64-bit Vista on an HP laptop, and am having trouble with P4. When I go to the "Compatibility" tab in for the P4 .exe file, 32-bit Vista does not show up as a compatibility option. The latest version shown is XP with SP2. Am I missing something? Is there a patch or download that updates P4?(The problem I'm having is stuttering and stopping in the imported avi2 files I have downloaded from my Panasonic digital camcorder and converted from avi to avi2 using DVDate. Also, I get stuttering with digital photos - jpg files - that I want to insert in the movie with added narration.)

It gets a little complicated. This is a simplification, but I hope this
helps to visualize what's happening.
The 32 bit and 64 bit environments are separated from each other.
There are separate program files directories, separate shared dll library
directories, and even separate registry entries. You can't mix 32 and
64 bit modules, and some applications, like Internet Explorer, install
both a 32 bit and a 64 bit version on the same computer. (IE does that
so it can process web pages that use 32 bit executable controls).
Vista 64 has 32 bit emulation built-in using a subsystem called Windows
on Windows 64 or WOW64 for short. WOW64 intercepts 32 bit
application calls to the operating system and handles the 32 to 64 bit
conversions and the redirection of the file and registry locations.
The program files themselves contain flags that indicate whether they
are 32 bit and whether the file uses the 64 bit version of the file
structure.
If the program is marked 32 bit, it will run in 32 bit using WOW64.
Programs are generally installed by an installer program which places
the application files in the proper locations and writes the registry
entries and any other setup tasks that are needed. To install a 64
bit program, a 64 bit installer is needed. For 32 bit installers, the files
and registry entries are redirected to the 32 bit locations.

Depending on how you created your Apple ID, you may not be able to create an iCloud account with your current Apple ID. If your Apple ID works in the iTunes Store, App Store, Game Center, FaceTime, or with other Apple Services, your Apple ID should work for iCloud. Also, if you created your Apple ID while you applied for a job at jobs.apple.com, your Apple ID should work for iCloud. If you cannot use your Apple ID with any Apple Services, it might not be compatible with iCloud. Contact iCloud Support for assistance.

SOLUTION... Error updating iPod Touch with 64-bit Vista

For the last two years... I have had a horrible time updating my iPod, beginning around iTunes 7. I am running 64-bit Windows Vista and I have had trouble with the 1st Gen, 3rd Gen and 4th Gen Touches. Everytime I would attempt to upgrade it would set my iPod Touch to recovery mode and iTunes would give me a 1602 error. After this it would never recognize it again. I scoured the internet for hours upon hours to no avail. I contacted Apple support a couple of times and the best response I got was, it's probably a Vista issue.
My solution for this issue was rename my iTunes folder, uninstall iTunes completely, install an older 32-bit version of iTunes, restore my iPod (only the firmware), update iTunes, re-rename my iTunes folder, and then restore from the last back-up. For my 32GB Touch, the process took 5-6 hours. So, I basically quit updating. Finally, I was determined to find a real solution.
After unsucessfully trying several different methods, I set iTunes to run as Administrator and that solved it. I have successfully updated mine and my daughters iPod without a hitch. It doesn't make any sense to me considering that my Windows login is the Administrator... but I'm happy to have found it.
So, if anyone out there has suffered this issue... the solution that worked for me was to right click the iTunes shortcut and go to Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab and Check "Run this program as an Administrator". Click Apply and exit. Now try it and hopefully you will have the same results as me.

Trouble with Benq DC C 700 digital camera on Satellite L30 105

I'm having trouble with my digital camera when I connect it to my laptop. Every time I connect the camera the laptop freezes and gives me the blue screen of death, that is, the screen you get when a fatal error occurs, and then my laptop has to be rebooted. So this happens each and every time I connect the two.
I've tried updating the bios and installing the latest drives but nothing seemed to work. I've contacted the support center at Benq and they told me to contact Toshiba as they are pretty sure the problem is not with the camera. So please anyone, if you have any ideas and or suggestions/solutions I'll be glad to hear them out.

First of all if you need the Toshiba support you have to contact the Toshiba authorized service partner in your country. This forum here is only a user-to-user forum and you will not find anyone from Toshiba here.
Secondly;
It seems the Satellite L30-105 was delivered with Vista. Do you use this OS on the L30?
I have read about many issues with the 3rd party devices, software and Windows Vista.
I dont know what the guys told you but possibly the webcam software is not 100% compatible with Vista.
You should know that the BSOD appears if there is a serious software or hardware problem. I dont think that this issue was caused by a hardware problem and therefore there is only one possibility; software compatibility issue.
In you case I would update the Vista to the latest state and would ask the webcam manufacture if its 100% compatible with Vista.

CP 1215 trouble with printing

I have never had any troubles with this product before. My printing machine CP 1215 started to do strange things arround this New year. It is printing with mistake making strips on pictures printed from program MS Word. But not only that. If I try to print some picture in jpg it is printing just black all the space of picture - instead of picture.
My system is Windows 7 and I am bit suspicious that it is some software trouble because of when I connect printer to another PC with Windows Vista, there are no problems at all. But if I connect to another PC with Windows 7, it makes the same trouble.
I removed my old HP software and tried new. No changes, same trouble :-/. I was trying to find mistake in HP software for removing software troubles, nothing. I tried to print mistake page, it was printing strips.
I am sure that my printing machine is not broken as it would not be able to print with another PC without any troubles and mistakes and strips. And why it prints the same mistake with the same operation system on another PC?
I hope to find help here as I quite need that it will start to work properly.

(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
ipconfig /flushdns
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
Now try your preview music again.

K9a2 platinum motherboard, trouble with mouse/updating bios.

Hello all, I have a MSI K9A2 Platinum mb, using vista 64 bit. I wanted to flash my bios, Pretty sure I have 1.4, wanted to try 1.8, or 1.9. When I go to download center will ask me where I want to download from, I click on U.S nothing happens, even tried the other countries nothing. Up top tab will say blank page and go back to download center. Reason I wanted to try and flash my bios to update it is. I have a USB razer lachesis which I have to unplug and plug back in several several times a day, Im having trouble with it lagging or stuttering. I have tried every driver update new and old and nothing works. I have unchecked enhance pointer precision, I have tried every usb port on my computer. Nothing. I have tried updating my video card, on board sound drivers, mouse drivers nothing. Im at a lost. I have no clue on what else to try. Do you think updating my bios will work? Thank you all for reading this. Hope it makes sense)

I just use some leftover kensington notebook mouse (ci25m), even though its small it fits my fingers(not my palm, just my fingers ..because my hand/palm is huge lol) and it just works. The only time I bought a really spendy mouse (creative fatality) I only ever had problems with it.

Droplets with CS2 and Vista

Can anyone help? I'm having a little trouble with CS2 droplets. They work fine on one of my PCs with windows XP but when I try to use them on a machine with Vista a message comes up 'Photoshop CS2 has stopped working' This also happens when I double click on the droplet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

you mean that the droplet you made on XP doesn't work on Vista? in that case you have to drag the droplet over the Photoshop icon for it to update it

After reinstall the trial and installed the fullversion, everything is good. But when I started my PC this morning the Trial Software opened . Some brushes ( Smartbrush ) have no available functions. What can I do ? Whats going wrong? Can you help me ?

Then start the program again from the Editor shortcut or from the welcome screen by right-clicking and choosing “Run As Administrator”

Having trouble with itunes update. Error with itunes64.msi. Windows 8.1 64 bit. I tried uninstalling, but I am stuck now trying to reinstall.
It says itcan't find the itunes64.msi destination folder.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

Trouble with Toshiba bluetooth stack

Hello, I'm having a trouble with toshiba bluetooth stack. I had windows vista installed in my laptop. I decided to upgrade to Windows 7. I had a bluetooth mouse attached to my toshiba bluetooth stack in windows vista. After upgrading to windows 7 my bluetooth mouse is not working any more and it is not listed in the devices list. But, when I switch my mouse on, the bluetooth stack icon tray turns green like when the device is connected, but it doesn't work and the device is still not listed. I'm trying to redetect it, but it is not detected. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the bluetooth stack, but in the reinstalation, my devices are still listed.
Anyone can help me or tell me how to remove manually all the attached devices? Thanks in advance.

It seems that the mouse has still stored the pairing information (normally it should loose it if the battery was removed).
The mouse tries to connect to the last connection, but the other side (PC) has not the information anymore.
Could you try to pair the mouse with any other PC or notebook before you try to pair it with your notebook again ?
Furthermore increase the security for this test by enabling the following option:
Right click Bluetooth system tray icon > Options > Security > Custom Level > Mode: Link level enforced security

Having trouble with Itunes recognizing my Ipad and Iphone.

Hvaing trouble with Itunes recognizing my Ipad & Iphone. When it finally does the siftware will crash when syncing the devise...usually when syncing the Apps. I have removed and reloaded software ,mutiple times.

Trouble with webcam

Hi I am having trouble with my optia pro webcam. When it turns on it shadows with black and then progressively get's worse. I am using Windows Vista. Is there a link or download that will solve this problem. Thanks

I've made some progress. Like I said, before this problem occurred, I had to start my laptop's webcam software (CyberLink YouCam) before starting my .Net applications. If I failed to start YouCam, instead of a video feed I would receive an image from YouCam
instructing me to start YouCam. This is annoying because I have to run YouCam, which is not a light program, along with my stuff.
I wanted to find a way to run my .Net stuff on its own, so I began experimenting, which included uninstalling YouCam. After uninstalling, .Net couldn't get the video feed at all, so I reinstalled. This is when the weird error above appeared, but only for
SOME projects, oddly.
Last night I experimented further. I have three versions of Visual Studio on this system, so I pulled up 2010 to give it a try. Same issue. This lead me to believe the issue was not only outside of my code, but outside of project scope all together.
After a system restore to a point prior to uninstalling and reinstalling miserable YouCam, my video programs worked again, meaning I still have to start YouCam. It seems YouCam is monopolizing something, or maybe the un/reinstall messed something up.
The method I'm using from Emgu CV library is called Capture(), which creates an object to access the video feed. By default, it accesses the default camera. However, you can specify with an index a different camera. I'm suspicious that YouCam might be creating
a virtual webcam and making it the default, so perhaps if I specify a different index, I'll be able to access a camera directly.
