Troubles with transition timeline effect

Hello,
I am trying to get a line of text to fade in over time via
the 'Transition' timeline effect. However, when I do this, editing
any of the settings makes no change, even after updating the
preview. If I click OK, the effect doesn't seem to work at all.
When I open the Transition effect dialog, I get an 'output'
window with the following inside:
quote:
Exception in exportPreviewSWF: TypeError: instance has no

Any assistance in remedying the problem would be most
appreciated.
Thanks,

Thanks.  I kind of get half of what you are saying.  I'm using a old flash mx and half the buttons/menu in it are really different.  I'm checking out the motion panel as we speak.

  • Transition timeline effect flash?  Where is it located?

I can't seem to find the "transition timeline effect" at all in flash cs 5.  It was in ther previous version before by just right clicking a layer in flash.  Any ideas?  Thanks

  • FCP6 troubles with wrong timeline settings

I have several timelines and one of them is set up all wrong. The aspect ratio is wrong. If i copy the video from the timeline (apple+c and paste) and throw them in the timeline which is set up in the right way why the video files are still in the wrong aspect ratio? There's nothing wrong with files cause if I start all over again the aspect ratio is right.
I've also tried to change manually the wrong timeline settings to the right ones but it doesn't seem to work either. Could someone know how to help me?
Videos are dvcproHD and I'm running FCP6.

Well... basically unclear about mnost of it. Try some specifics. Sequence settings for example. Keep in mind if you create universal sequence settings in preferences, they only take effect in sequences mada AFTER the change. To change an existing sequence, use the sequence pulldown at the top.

  • Trouble with Render Lighting Effects

I am trying to use the Render Lighting Effects filter and I am having some trouble.
I'm using it on a duplicate background layer which looks fine until I apply the layer. Once the layer is applied, a pattern of black rectangles appears on the duplicate layer. I'm not sure what's causing this to happen.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

This looks more like what you are asking for…..

  • Trouble with denoiser audio effect when exporting help!!!

I have been working on a school assignment for media on Adobe Premiere  Pro CC and have come across a very frustrating issue that I have no idea about how to solve. it goes under the category of a 'technical difficulty'.
As I have alot of interviews and talking in my project for my Documentary I am shooting on Bullying for my Current Affair I have alot of audio to deal with and with my Rode VideoMic Pro when in conversation in the midst of an interview there is a constant 'hiss and crackle' that one can hear when watching hence I have used the audio affect of "DeNoiser" to get rid of this and it seems to work great on my workflow in my sequence in Premiere as I have reduced most clips to -15Db's. But when I export my project as I have done several times, the 'Denoiser' affect doesn't work for the first 3 seconds + for all clips that I have used to affect for. At the start of all the clips used with the affect there is a constant hiss and crackle and after 3 seconds it fades out??? Please help me with this very unusual problem as I want this to be a fantastic film on your fantastic software!
    Thanks

Is the music on a separate track, or recording live during the interview?  Hopefully the music is separate, and if so then do the following:
In Premiere, right click on the audio clip that contains the voice and choose export to Audition.  Premiere will export the clip into Audition (and it will update on the timeline when saved in audition).
In Audition, highlight a piece of the clip that is noise only, (a sizable gap when there's no talking and only the ambient noise of the room is heard)  capture that as a noise print (right click, "capture noise print" or Shift-P).  Then in Effects, select the 'Noise reduction (process)" tool.  (Note:  I assigned a custom key for easy access as I use it frequently).  Then tweak the settings of the tool until it sounds good to you.   You can follow the settings I have posted above as a guide/starting point, but no two settings will work for every situation, (notice how I chose a logarithmic curve and added control points to follow its contour).
Personally, I don't try to remove all the noise, just tame it until the voice is dominate.  The more aggressive the reduction, the more unnatural the result.  A little ambiance is expected and sounds natural.   Even then, a little noise is masked when I go back in and add music.  You can play the clip in a loop while you make adjustments and go ahead, go the extreme to get sense for what each tool does, and then be subtle. Your ears are the best sense of measure.
Once your happy, select or highlight the entire clip and click apply.  Listen to the result.  If you're happy still, then save it and it will update in Premiere, and you grab the next clip and repeat the process.
Once you have all the voice clips edited, then you can add music.  I suggest that you keep the music at -12dB lower than the voice as a starting point.
You can also apply music via a ducking (side-chain) technique in Audition as another step.  To do so:
After fixing all the voice clips, mute any music tracks you have.  Create a new sequence and paste the sequence you've edited into that new sequence, right click on the audio track in that sequence and bring that into Audition like you did before.  What you'll have is all the audio clips assembled into one.   "Normalize" that freshly import track, ensuring even volume/peaking throughout, (to within -3dB) is a good target.
In Audition open a new mutli-session and choose the "VO with Ducking"  template.  Load that freshly imported audio onto the voice track (top), and add you select music in the track beneath it.  Dial down the volume of the music track until the voice sounds dominate (I try for a -12dB difference).  Double click the Dynamics Processing filter in the Music track and in the settings tab, check the link channels box and in the level detector area, adjust it's attack and release rate until it sounds good to you.
Then render a mixdown of the session, saving the result to a new audio file.  Import that file into Premiere, add it to a new audio track in your original edit and mute the other audio tracks.   Render away.

  • Trouble with J2D Timeline app

    Hi,
I am very new to J2D and graphics programming. I currently know how to go about drawing stuff on the screen or make it move in a very basic fashion. I am trying to develop a app that looks like a timeline moving. Let's say that I have a bunch of planes and they are approaching some airport. The airport has its timeline that is a line in the middle of the screen(horizontal or vertical) with a bunch of time point hanging out of it. As time is going by the time points are going towards the bottom (or right) of the timeline at the end of the screen. Also if there is a plane that is approaching it too is hanging on to the timeline and is moving towards the end of the screen as time passes.
    | | | | | | || | | * ||
    start end
    --------------------------------->>>Time passage
    | = time
    * = some plane
My problem is that even though I could probably investigate in drawing and animating this, I don't know how would I go about designing something like this. What would be the objects and what would move. Is the times attached to a circular timeband and the time band is moving(provided that I can program a timeband) or is the timeband static and the points moving. I would really appreciate any suggestions on how I could go about doing this or any referenced on the web that teach how to design something like this (and more).
    Thank you,
    Jay.

you could make an object for a timeline section that holds a string for the time and a boolean for wether a plane is on it. Then create an array of these objects and having them cycling through with different values every time.

  • Troubles with combination of effects

I tried to use an "AppearFade and Blind" effect for a "tab
panel", but I have some proble with IE (is only working correctly
    for Firefox!!!)
    I want this behaviour:
-> on page load, the tab panel is hidden (display:none on
    a container div)
-> when you click the link "articoli recenti", the tab
panel appear with fade and a blind effect from 0 to 100
(and till here is OK also for IE)
-> when you click another time the link "articoli
correlati", the tab panel must hide itself with blind from 100 to 0
and fade, but in IE it doesn't appen! the "TabbedPanelsTab" is
    always displaying...
    reference url:
    http://ligio.altervista.org
Is it an error in my code or is a bug? help... please!

    Hello shakexx,
it looks as if the hiding of the tab panel is switched off
    currently for Firefox.
Generally it is helpful to see the defect in action to trace
    the cause for the defect.
Toggling show and hide of the tab panel works when clicking
the "articoli recenti" href. To also toggle the behaviour of the
"articoli correlati" link, it might be useful for you to store the
current state with a global variable. After the "articoli
correlati" link has been invoked, you can check for the memorized
state to execute the appropriate action. After the appropriate
action has been executed, you store the current state again.
Storing the state with a JS variable should be basic
functionality with no browser vendor dependencies.
    Hope this helps.

  • Having trouble with transitions between photos for project...

I tried doing what it said under Troubleshooting but it won't work. Is there a way to have a transition automatically between photos instead of manually putting them there? (kind of like iDVD). I did it individually but then it wouldn't work or the transition time between is too short.

If you don't have a mouse with a right click, just use the drop down menu. File/Project Properties.
If you have a laptop, I am sure there is a key sequence that simulates a right click. I don't have a laptop, so I don't know what it is. If you have an apple mighty mouse, you can set up right-clicking in the system preferences / keyboard and mouse menu.
Open project space is the gray space behind the clips. It may be a different color if you have added music.

  • Trouble with Premiere timeline moving up and down multiple audio tracks.

I have a project that has multiple audio tracks, aver 40. Only a portion of them are visible even when I use the new side scroll, I don't know the official name but the scroll on the side that Increases or decrease the size of the track so you can see the waveform. Even when I hide the video tracks and the other preview panels I still can't see all my audio tracks. How do I scroll up and down so I can see the tracks that I want to work on. You know, like in every other program I have ever used.

I feel like there's a bit of egg on my face. Rereading your message and messing with the horizontal bar I realized for both horizontal and vertical bars I grab in the center and drag left or right, up or down. There's a short cut for scrolling up and down your timeline tracks, hold down ctrl/cmd and then use the scroll wheel on your mouse, and that's what I was doing for my project last night. Ah growing pains of learning a new workspace.

  • Trouble with Plugins (Instr & Effects)

A while ago, someone posted having problems with Computer Music's latest issue, that had a disc full of both PC and Mac freeware/demo plugins. For the OP, some of them worked, some didn't (speaking of the mac ones, of course). I'm having the same problem, but not just with those. I had just read about and downloaded ColorTone Free, and Logic has yet to recognize it. I've run the AU Manager many times, and I've even run Onyx to clear out all application cache data, which forces Logic Express and Pro to do a full check upon the next launch. Nothing. The synth I really want to get working is daHornet, but I've put the component in both the component directory, as well as the AU directory. Heck, I even put a copy in the VST folder, to no avail.
Anyone have any advice? As far as I can tell, these plugins are NOT RTAS, but I'll be trying the same thing with ProTools later today. I have ProTools M-Powered 7.3 also installed on my system.
    Thanks!

    Hi Tee here
As you know Colour Tone is part of the extensive Pluggo range of freeware. Pluggo have not too long ago updated their instalers you may want to go to their site and down load their latest installer. I noticed you are running 10.4.9 did you upgrade using your system installer or did you manuelly download the combi version and install manually? why? there has been much adoo about this as being the apple that tips the cart so to speak. some logic usesr have found after the install a lot of thier 3rd party Plugs have stopped working. Well this is due to apple changing up the version of the plugin validation unit.
You should be able to get Colour tone working again as I have the same opperating system and I have loads of 3rd party apps Colour Tone included running quite well.
    Good luck

  • Render high quality 15 minute clip of still images with transitions - After Effects CC 2014

Hello, I am rendering a 15 minute composition comprised of a 3 high quality still images (5 mins for each image) with basic blur fades between each still at a res of 1440x900.
Rendering this out as a Quicktime movie is taking forever and results in a HUGE file size, can someone please recommend an alternative that will not sacrifice video quality?
    Thanks!

He can't give you any specific advice because you didn't give us any specific information. How you are delivering your video makes a HUGE difference in what render settings you would use. If you're planning to send it for use in an NLE like Premiere, the advice would be different from if you were wanting to upload it to YouTube. Thus, he linked you to a resource that could best help you based on the limited information you provided.
Also, Todd comes on here in his free time. This is a user-to-user forum, not an official way to contact Adobe. We are grateful for any support we get here from official personnel.

  • Trouble with transitions

I have a client that ftp'ed a file to me and when I opened it up in Final cut the sequence opened asMpeg 4. When I started editing I found that every transition or manual fade I applied introduces a shift or glitch.
Any suggestions would be great. I am on a deadline.
    Thanks
    Jeff

mpeg 4 is not an editing format, but a heavily compressed delivery format
You need to receive the footage in an editing format such as those used in the easy set ups.

  • Trouble with Launching After Effects CS6

Whenever I launch After Effects CS6, it hangs on "MediaCore", and will stop working until I close the program. I've used After Effects numerous times, but have never installed any extra content or anything of that matter. This has never happened to me before, and I'm confused as to why!

  • [discuss] Does anyone use the Timeline Effects?

Just curious. I don't, but I probably would if the effects
were better -- the system itself of applying and editing effects
    works nice.

I've never used the Timeline Effects either, and after some
fooling around with them I think these are the main reasons:
    1) There aren't very many effects. I don't expect to discover
    much there.
    2) The effects that are there aren't particularly useful.
I've never really needed to "explode" or "expand" something in my
animation. Some of the effects are so basic they don't seem to
really offer any benefit over normal tweening, such as Transform
and Transition. And what about Text effects? If there were
professional text effects, such as the quality found in After
    Effects, I'd find that useful.
    3) The effects that exist are not very high quality. They
    aren't smooth and natural looking.
    4) The preview framerate is not synchronized to your movie
framerate, so the preview is mostly useless.
    5) UI visibility of the Timeline Effect is really low.
There's no indication in the timeline or Property panel that a
symbol is actually a timeline effect. The only way to edit or
create a timeline effect is through a menu. This makes for a very
    awkward interface.
    5) You can only have a single Timeline Effect at once.
    6) A Symbol with a Timeline Effect can't be edited, you can't
even adjust the frame span in the timeline without the timeline
effect being "baked" and not editable anymore. This makes some of
the "helpers" particularly useless, since it basically locks down
    your selection after being applied.
So in the end I think I'll avoid extending Timeline Effects
altogether and just create some Commands to help us in creating
tweens. Any suggestions as far as that goes?
